Carmen L. Perryman
Carmen L. Perryman, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 1999 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Services were held Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Survivors include a son, Cecil Perryman of Seymour, Texas and 6 other children; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Earl Howard Glaze
Earl Howard Glaze, 83, of Seymour died Thursday, February 11, 1999, in a Seymour hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 1999, at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Glaze was born February 20, 1915, in Abilene, Texas. He and Nadine Mayers were married April 3, 1941, in Wichita Falls. He moved to Seymour in 1928 and was an auto mechanic for Vincent's Garage in Seymour. He retired in 1977 and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Elton, Sterling and Ronald, all of Seymour; five sisters, Vera Wirz, Winifred Farris and Myrtle Perkins, all of Seymour, Martha Gentry of Lovington, N.M., and Hazel Lassiter of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Charles Allen Bradford
Charles Allen Bradford, age 73, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, February 13, 1999, in Duncan Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 1999, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan, Oklahoma, with Dow Pannell and Reverend Jimmy Ferguson, officiating. Interment was the in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Bradford was born December 13, 1925, in Vera, Texas. He married Bettye Jo Deadwiley on April 21, 1950, in Lovington, New Mexico. He worked in Facility Design Construction for Halliburton Services, retiring in 1991 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Bettye, of the home; his mother, Maudie Belle Vowell Bradford, of Wichita Falls, Texas; by one son, Ronald Allen Bradford, of Duncan, Oklahoma; by three brothers, Billy Ray Bradford of Andrews, Texas, Travis Bradford of Dallas, Texas, and Garland Bradford of Georgia; by three sisters, Louise Campbell and Betty Fay Lambert, both of Iowa Park, Texas, and Joye King of Houston, Texas; and by two grandchildren, Tara Leann Bradford and Rebecca Lyn Bradford.
Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his father, Allen Monroe Bradford; by a daughter, Scarlette Sue Bradford; and by two brothers, Bobby Dean Bradford and Donald Bradford.
Pallbearers were Harold Ferrell, Danny Whitney, Mike Powers, Kenneth Pennington, Kenneth Simmons, Robert Parkhurst, Harvey Goodman and Harris Powers. Honorary pallbearers were Alton Hutto, Raymond McSpadden, Homer Powers, Lenard Morrow, Alvin Wagner, Him Booth and Bob Randolph.

Thelma Brooks
Thelma Brooks, age 88, of Bowie, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 11, 1999, in the Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, at the Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Chapel in Bowie, with the Reverend Ron Abbott, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie, officiating. Interment was in the Brush Cemetery in Bowie, under the direction of Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brooks was born May 13, 1910, in Midlothian, Texas. She had been a resident of Bowie for 37 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie. Her husband, Edgar Brooks, passed away in October, 1987.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Bernice Castleberry of Gladewater, Texas, and by several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Allen Ray Crites, Jerry McClendon, Milford Sims, Joe Wadsworth, James McClendon and Lloyd Gilbert.

Loveta Marie Lee Smith
Loveta Marie Lee Smith was born June 17, 1916 in Seymour, Texas and passed into God's loving arms January 6, 1999 in Mesa, Arizona.
Services were held at 11 a.m. January 11 at Miles Mortuary Chapel with Udon McSpaddin, officiating. Burial was in the Pinal Cemetery at Central Heights, Arizona. Under direction of Paul Damron Funeral Home of Miami, Arizona.
Loveta was the second of five children born to Druery and Mary Ella Lee. After graduating from Seymour High School, Loveta worked as a telephone operator. In 1943, she and her sister, Ada Belle came to Arizona. They lived in Phoenix and continued working for the telephone company.
December 4, 1944, Loveta married John Doyle Smith, who was serving in the United States Army. They lived in California until John's discharge in 1945. They then moved to the Globe, Arizona area. In 1947 they bought a home that they shared until John's death in 1976. They had one daughter, Kathy.
Loveta's home and her family were her life. She helped her family and was an active participant when her beloved grandchildren, Susan and Josh were growing up. She was always available to baby-sit or read a story or wipe away a tear. Her greatest joy was her great grandchildren, Markie and Kayla. She carried their pictures for all to see. Her love and devotion will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, brothers Orlin (Bud) Lee and Arnold Lee and in October 1998 by her sister Ada Belle. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Axsom and her husband, Gary of Mesa, Arizona, granddaughter, Susan Evans of Apache Junction, Arizona, grandson Josh Evans and his wife, Susan of Globe, Arizona, great-grandchildren. Mark and Kayla Daou of Apache Junction, Arizona. She is also survived by brother Ernest Lee and his wife, Emma of Prescott Valley, Arizona.
Loveta was a woman of great compassion and kindness. She was well liked and respected by all who knew her. Her family is very grateful to have been blessed by having her in their lives.

Roy Lee McClung III
Roy Lee "Trey" McClung III, 36, died Friday, February 5, 1999, in his residence in Seymour.
Services were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 1999, at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Darrell Smith and the Rev. Tony McGee, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery in Seymour under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. McClung was born July 20, 1962, in Albuquerque, N.M. He graduated from high school in Gretna, Nebraska in 1980. He was a 1984 graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received his ag economics degree. He then worked for Olney Savings and Loan in Olney for four years. He returned to college to obtain his degree as a radiology technician in 1993. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, R.L. and Carol Jean of Seymour; two sisters, Gena Morris of Seymour and Sara Hunter of Dimmitt, Texas; maternal grandparents, Jim and Anna Bell Richardson of Seymour; and paternal grandmother, Rose Nell Biggerstaff of Wichita Falls; four nephews, Ross, Ryan and Reagan Hunter and Mitch Morris; one niece, Macie Morris.
The family requests memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church of Seymour.

Heather Casillas Shugart
Heather Casillas Shugart of Schweinfurt, Germany, formerly of Seymour, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 17, 1999, in a German hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Archer Funeral Home. Services will be on Saturday, April 24, at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Seymour with the Reverend Richard Eldredge officiating. Burial will be in the Benjamin, Texas, Cemetery, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shugart was born December 6, 1975, in San Rafael, California. She and Matt Shugart were married January 28, 1995, in Seymour, Texas. She graduated from Seymour High School. She was a homemaker and loving mother.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cyerrah Dawn, 3 years, and a son, Zacher Taylor, 1 1/2 years, both of Germany; her parents, Leonard and Lisa Casillas of Seymour; her grandparents, Jesse and Pearl Casillas of Hobbs, New Mexico; three brothers, Jesse Lee and Daniel of Seymour, and Chad of California; a sister, Danielle of Granger, Texas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Johnnie Lee Lewis
Johnnie Lee Lewis, 52, of Quanah, Texas, died Monday, April 12, 1999, in his residence.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Round Timber Cemetery with the Reverend Glenn Shock, pastor of First Baptist Church in Seymour, officiating. Burial was in Round Timber Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home with military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871.
Mr. Lewis was born January 9, 1947, in Olney, Texas. He and Nina Sue Watts were married April 15, 1967, in Holliday, Texas. She died January 1, 1998. He enlisted in the Army and served at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and later at Earlangan, Germany. He was discharged February 23, 1967. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Seymour. He owned and operated Sue's Baithouse. He had lived in Quanah since 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lee Reinhardt of Quanah and Amy Lynn King of Crowell, Texas; a son, Johnnie Ray of Quanah; his mother, Marietta Howe of Wichita Falls; his father and stepmother, John Wallace and Sally Lewis of Hollis, Oklahoma; five sisters, Nancy "Katie" Smith and Kathie Herbert, both of Wichita Falls, Suzie Driver of Phoenix, Arizona, Yvonne Finley of Quanah and Lathell of Hollis, Oklahoma; five brothers, Glenn Howe of Seymour, Wallace of Allen, Oklahoma, Cecil of Mangum, Oklahoma, Gary of Gould, Oklahoma, and Steven of Lamesa, Texas; and three grandchildren.
