John Wilburn Bryan
John Wilburn Bryan, 81, a retired automotive parts salesman, died Thursday, February 24, 2000, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 26, in Greenwood Garden Chapel. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home of Fort Worth.
John Bryan was born October 28, 1918, in Seymour, Texas.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School and a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the parts division of Longhorn Dodge in 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mamie Bryan and his brother, Leroy Bryan.
Special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Fireside Lodge Care Center and Vitas Hospice Care.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vesta Helms Bryan of Fort Worth; a daughter, Sandra Brown and husband, Leslie, of Fort Worth; brothers, Denton Bryan and wife, Ruthie, of Seymour, Loyd Bryan and wife, Barbara, of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters, Betty Parrish and husband, Carman of Chula Vista, California, Nancy Stegall of Chula Vista and Margaret Galloway of San Diego, California; granddaughter, Debra Brown of Fort Worth; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clarence E. "Whit" Powell
Clarence E. "Whit" Powell, 78, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Sunday, February 27, 2000, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Faith Village Church of Christ with Charles Grisham, of Faith Village Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, Texas, under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Powell was born September 7, 1921, in Red Springs, Texas. He married Lucille Brothers in 1964, in Seymour. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1987. He was a member of Faith Village Church of Christ and a resident of Wichita Falls since 1965. He served with the Army during World War II. He was a cement finisher for Texas Department of Highways.
Survivors include two sons, Davis L. Powell and Randy E. Powell, both of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Vickie L. Freeze of Estelline, Texas, and Teresa Lockhart of Memphis, Texas; a brother, Charles "Buddy" Powell of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; five sisters, Marjarie McCandless of Sand Springs, Clella Powell, Irene Hogan, Jeffie Smith and Helen James, all of Lubbock; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Jesse Earl Wilson
Jesse Earl Wilson, 74, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Seymour Hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, March 21, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Church of Christ in Seymour, Texas with Bud Branson Officiating. Burial with Military Graveside rites was conducted by VFW Post #7871 in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Jesse was born September 20, 1925 in Merkel, Texas. He came to Baylor County as an infant. He served in the Navy during World War II. He and Alene Coleman were married April 26, 1946. He worked for the City of Seymour in the electrical department for 31 years before his retirement in 1976. He then went to work for B-K Electric until he retired in 1991. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7871.
Survivors include his wife, Alene; a daughter, Debbie Jenkins of Seymour; a sister, Johnnye Lee Sears of Zephyr, Texas; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Owens and Jody Jenkins.

Raymond Lorane Brown
Raymond Lorane Brown, age 88, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Texas, with Reverend Larry Crumpton, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born February 20, 1912, in Brandon, Texas, the son of John Thomas and Elizabeth "Bessie" Brown. He married Myrtle Railsback on December 19, 1931, in Munday, Texas, and four children were born to this union. He was a farmer and rancher in Baylor County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; three daughters, Raydean Damon of Crawford, Texas, Evelyn Bailes of Jacksonville, Texas, and Ruth Shook of Arlington, Texas; one son, Robert Brown of Seymour; four sisters, Ruby Dennis of Abilene, Texas, Johnny Gray of Munday, Texas, Mary Agnes Schroeder of Akron, Ohio, and Hazel Lewallen of Seymour; eight grandchildren, Cindy Damon and Jamie Burgess of Crawford, Trey Godfrey of Rowlett, Texas, Tami Stinger of Corinth, Texas, Tara Welch of Leander, Texas, Jay Bailes of Jacksonville, Jan Del Toro of Houston, Texas, and Neal Brown of Copperas Cove, Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless treasured friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Fred; a sister, Grace Curtis; a granddaughter, Teresa Beckner; and an infant great-grandson, Joseph Joshua Beckner.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included members of the Escalator Class and Methodist Men, including Robert Patterson, Rea Carter, Richard Cox, Frank Simaichl, Hershell Hatter and Gene Robinson.
Mr. Brown was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His gentle, quiet spirit and his unfailing faith, love and strength serve as an example to us all.

Jane Taylor Llewellyn
Jane Taylor Llewellyn, 79, a homemaker, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at University Christian Church. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park, under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Charles Newman, Frank Bailey, Ed Fitzgerald, Don Jackson, W. Kent Riley, Dr. John Burk, John Chambers, Charlie Alexander and Bob Moor. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Decker, Joe Ambrose, Jake Hershey, George Meihaus, Dr. Jack Morris, Eric Hyden, Raymond Kelly and Robert N. Ross.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the University Christian Church.
Jane Taylor Llewellyn was born on September 27, 1920, in Fort Worth. She had been a resident of Fort Worth her entire life. She was a graduate of the University of Texas. She was a sorority sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha and was a member of the Jewel Charity Ball, Junior League, River Crest Country Club, the Fort Worth Club and the Fort Worth Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carter Harris and Frances Taylor of the Carter Taylor, C Lazy T Ranch, of Baylor County.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jack Llewellyn of Fort Worth; a son, John Carter Llewellyn and his wife, Mary Lillian, of Fort Worth; a daughter, Lynn Llewellyn Farley and her husband, James Cheever, Jr., of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Amy Ross Biggs, Lauren Llewellyn, John Carter Llewellyn, Jr., James Cheever Farley III and Taylor Llewellyn Farley; and great-grandchild, Robert Ross Biggs.

William C. "Bill" Moss III
Services for William C. "Bill" Moss III, 59, of Snyder, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Miller Robinson, retired Baptist Minister, and Reverend Tommy Culwell, pastor of Colonial Hill, officiating. Burial was in Hillside Memorial Garden, under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Moss died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder after a sudden illness.
Mr. Moss was born June 23, 1940, in Dallas, Texas. He married Judy Greene on August 5, 1961, in Snyder. He was Western Regional Administrator, TDCJ Windham School and was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder. He graduated from Seymour High School and played football at North Texas State University where he earned his bachelor's degree. He earned his master's degree from Sul Ross State University in 1969. Mr. Moss moved to Snyder in July 1987 to become manager of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce. He had been chamber manager in Monahans. Prior to that, he served 15 years with the Pecos and Monahans schools as high school principal. Mr. Moss was chamber manager when Snyder worked to locate the Price Daniel Unit here. He resigned the chamber post to become Windham School principal in August 1991. In August 1995, Mr. Moss was named assistant regional director for Windham, with oversight of educational programs in 22 West Texas Prison Units. He was a member of Snyder Country Club and a former member of Rotary Club and had served on the Snyder School Board since 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Melissa Burke, who died in 1988.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Lynda Patterson of Snyder; his mother-in-law, Gaye Nelle Greene of Snyder; and three brothers-in-law, Mackey Greene, John Greene and Pete Greene, all of Snyder.

Milton Bartos
Milton Bartos, 88, of Seymour, Texas, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in the Seymour Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Crumpton, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Bomarton Cemetery in Bomarton, Texas, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home of Seymour.
Mr. Bartos was born June 7, 1911, in Baylor County, Texas. He and Faye Chambless were married in 1937 in Haskell, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 18, 1985. Mr. Bartos was a farmer and rancher and operated oil properties.
He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Marie Warterfield and husband, Floyd Edward Warterfield, Bobbie Faye Loving and husband, Arlie Dean Loving, and Melanie Gayle Gooch and husband, Jon David Gooch; two stepdaughters, Helen Louise Frymire and husband, James Robert Frymire, and Margaret Brown Halsey; a stepson, Edwin Tracy Brown and wife, Ada Mae Brown; two sisters, Albina Macha and Eula Kocurek; a brother, Bedrick Bartos; four grandchildren, John Milton Warterfield, Robert Tracy Warterfield, Deana Rhea Dalton and John Thomas Loving; five step-grandchildren, Charles Edwin Frymire, James Philip Frymire, Robert Michael Frymire, Thomas Randal Brown and David Edwin Brown, who preceded him in death; three great-grandchildren, Derek Chase Dalton, David Cole Edwin Dalton and Bailey Marie Warterfield; and two step-great-grandchildren, Michelle Amber Frymire and Melissa Scott.

Mary Louise Storek
Mary Louise Storek, 83, of Denton, Texas, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Vintage Nursing Home in Denton.
Rosary was held Friday, April 7, at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was on Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Richard Eldredge officiating. Burial was in Seymour Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Storek was born October 29, 1916, in Baylor County, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Seymour and was a homemaker. She and John Frank Storek were married in 1944 in Seymour. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Marie Storek of Denton; two brothers, Frank L. Hons of Seymour and William Hons of Olney, Texas; two sisters, Rosalie Rienke of Mabelle, Texas, and Dorothy Laney of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
