Anita Delano Lang was born in Abbeyville, Louisiana, Sept. 17, 1947.
On Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the age of 55 Anita passed away in Lubbock.
Anita is survived by her husband, Russell Lang of Blanco; two sons, Chris Allen Dupree of San Antonio and Matthew Shane Gotto of Stockdale; one stepson, Russell Gene Lane II of Blanco; two daughters Tammy Marie Lane of Orange and Joy Cole of Beaumont; and one brother, Jody Delino of Round Rock. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at Lee Swireís residence located at 371 Valley Vista in the Kothmann North Edition.
She will be missed by all that knew her.

Gladys Alberta Schneider Smith, a descendent of pioneer Blanco and Kendall County families, was born in Kendalia, Aug. 1, 1912.
She was the daughter of Monroe Schneider and Nora Schmidt. She had one younger brother, Norman Schneider. Her father, a San Antonio policeman, died during the 1918 flu epidemic. Gladys and Norman then went to live on the Kendalia ranch with their Schmidt grandparents until Nora married Frank Heidrich in 1921. The Heidrichs operated the Kendalia store and Post Office where Gladys worked until she married Warren Smith in 1931. Warren and Gladys lived near their Smith relatives west of Blanco until 1950 when they moved to the White Springs Ranch southeast of Blanco. Gladys was active in community and church affairs. She worked as a docent at the LBJ home in Johnson City for several years and traveled with Warren throughout the U. S.
She liked to cook and garden but her special hobby was rug hooking.
Gladys died Sept. 8, 2003, at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Beck; three granddaughters Debra Williams, Lee Beck, and Tina Beck; three great grandchildren, Eva Wolchover, Taylor Williams, and Natalie Wolchover; son-in-law Lonnie Beck, and grand son-in-laws, Will Williams and Chris Scroger; first cousins Violet Asher and Roger Knibbe; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were conducted at Crofts Funeral Home and the Blanco Cemetery by William Breitschopf, Walter Hill, and Shelton Smith. Pallbearers were Will Williams, Chris Scroger, Taylor Williams, Roy Hotz Jr., Bill Spurgin, and Willard John Gibbons.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Old Blanco County Courthouse, P. O. Box 302, Blanco, 78606.

Kenneth Mcllvain was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was born in Boone, Iowa, Oct. 14, 1927, and went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Fredericksburg.
Kenneth was a resident of Johnson City. He was well known and loved by the community. You always knew when Kenneth was around because everyone was smiling. He made many friends throughout his 75 years of life.
Kenneth left behind his loving wife, Reba Sue Mcllvain of Johnson City, a daughter Susan Campbell and son-in-law Marshall Campbell of Quito, Equador; one son David Mcllvain and daughter-in-law Wendy Mcllvain of Johnson City; one sister Joyce Mcllvain of Apache Junction, AZ; and five grandchildren, Jarrett, Rebecca, Rachel, Jacob and Rayen Campbell.
Services were held Monday, April 14, at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City followed by a graveside service at the Masonic Cemetery.
Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he was a Lt. Col.
Pallbearers were Charles Matus, Tom Mills, Dave Ripsom, Kermit Roeder, Nick Roeder, and James Sultemeier. Honorary pallbearers were Bozo Ulrich and D.J. Whittington.
Kenneth Jay Mcllvain will be missed by his family as well as the community.

Richard Morris Collins was born July 29, 1913, on his fatherís ranch in Round Mountain to Walter Collins and Ella Hunnicutt Collins and passed away Aug. 28, 2003, at the age of 90.
Richard has one brother, Ollie Collins of Blanco, one sister Hazel Rath of Kerrville and three deceased brothers, Walter, Warren and Boyd.
Richard has two daughters, Yvonne Gower and husband Bob of Davenport, Washington, and Barbara Hampton and husband Steve of Dripping Springs, step-daughter, Vernell Moehle of Granite Shoals.
His grandchildren are Terry Gene Harber (deceased), Camilla Sims, Jimmy Johnson, Richard Hampton, Vernon Hampton, Elizabeth Wilkerson and husband Mark, and Rebecca Hampton.
His great- grandchildren are: Tiffany Glosson, Gerald Doran Jr., Hunter Hampton, Brittney, Ashlee, and Richard Lee Hampton Jr., Mark Anthony, Shea, Shelby and Emory Wilkerson, many nieces and nephews (and his killer Chihuahua dog, Pudgy).
Richard had a grandfather, who he was especially proud of, Richard Collins who was one of the Blanco County officials who had the Blanco County courthouse moved to Johnson City and a great-grandfather Joseph Bird who founded Round Mountain.
Richard attended school in Round Mountain and Johnson City. He had quite a few stories to tell about growing up there on the river. He was a veteran from WWII. He loved to hunt and rock fish. At age 85, he caught his last big catfish on the Pedernales River in Johnson City, and the last deer he killed at age 88, in Llano.
His last great poker game was in Las Vegas after his great granddaughterís graduation from the UNLV Las Vegas in June 2003. He talked of his various jobs: picking cotton, ranch work, picked fruit in California, a cook on the Alaskan Railroad, sold ice cream in San Antonio, painted water towers and bridges all over Texas and finally was an electrician for Brown and Root for 20 years.
Pall bearers were Vernon Hampton, Richard Hampton, Richard Hampton, Jimmy Hampton, Johnny Hampton, Steve Hampton, Tod Hunt, Ted Hunt and Pelo Martinez.
He fought a courageous battle with cancer his last year and hospice was wonderful. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was the best! Services were Saturday at 4 p.m. from Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City with burial in the Eckert Cemetery in Willow City.

Melton Mehnert Gruetzmacher was born in Weesatche Aug. 30, 1919, to Alfred Gruetzmacher and Sophie Mehnert. Melton passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, in Johnson City at the age of 83.
Funeral services were held Saturday the Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City.
Survivors of Melton are one daughter, Dee Ann Danielczyk of Johnson City; one son, Larry Gruetzmacher of San Antonio; two brothers, Alton Gruetzmacher of Weesatche and Wilton Gruetzmacher of Goliad. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Malcolm E. Heffington was born Aug. 6, 1914, in Spicewood and spent his early childhood years in Smithwick. He passed away Aug. 30, 2003.
Malcolm married Elsie Meredith June 11, 1939, and moved to Round Mountain, where he managed a ranch owned by Virgil Dorbandt and Wesley West for 43 years. Malcolm retired in 1982 and moved to the Marble Falls area.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Elsie, who passed away Oct. 30, 1999.
He is survived by his son, Warren Heddington and his wife Donna of College Station; two grandsons, Sam Heffington and his wife Kayla of Atlanta, GA., and John Heffington and his wife Kelly of Ann Arbor, MI., one sister Ruth Allen of Kerrville; one brother, Gaston Heffington of Schulenburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Edgar Funeral Home in Marble Falls with Bro. Linvel Baker officiating. Burial was held at the Smithwck Cemetery and was directed by Edgar Funeral Home.

Helen E. Orr, 91 died Aug. 31, 2003, in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
Helen was born July 18, 1912, in Teaneck, New Jersey, the daughter of Lillian (Davison) and Thomas Beaumont. She worked as a secretary at USAA Insurance Company in Texas. She lived in Spring Branch for 35 years before moving to Peterborough in 1996. She loved to read and enjoyed the activities at Senior Focus in Peterborough.
Her husband, Robert J. Orr, died in 1996. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Orr of Manning, South Carolina; R. James Orr Jr., of Peterborough; 15 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visition will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Crofts Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at St. Ferdinandís Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Burial will be in St. Maryís Cemetery in Twin Sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Peterborough Ambulance Squad, Peterborough, NH.
Jellison Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Peterborough, is handling arrangements.
