DOYLE L. WITTKOHL
Doyle L. Wittkohl, 50, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, in Fredericksburg.
Doyle is survived by his brothers, Carlos L. Wittkohl, Charles and Debi Wittkohl, and Randy Wittkohl, all of Blanco.
Doyle was born March 1, 1953, in Austin to Fritz J. and Alwina Weirich Wittkohl. He was a draftsman.
Grave side services for Doyle Wittkohl will be held Wednesday Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. in Der Stadt Friedhof with Rev. David Priem officiating.
Memorials may be given to Hill Country Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.

LOIS JEAN KRUEGER PAGE
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, Lois Jean Krueger Page died peacefully with family at her side at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born July 15, 1934, in New Braunfels to Elo and Rose Krueger.
Her prayers, love, devotion, and dedication have been an example to all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts forever. Oh yes, and that smile, that warm, wonderful smile.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Glenn Edward Page of Blanco; daughter Nancy Matthews and her husband Glenn of San Antonio; and son Darren Page and his wife Janita of Spicewood; grandchildren Glenn and Andrew Matthews, and Cory and Travis Page; sister Rita Reiner and her husband Fielding of Cypress Mill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Egon and Nina Artzt of Spring Branch; nephew Stacey Reiner and his wife Diane of Sonora and children Trent and Kylie; nephew Bradley Reiner and his wife Jana of Buda and children Aubrey and Blaine; numerous friends and family members who were all very special to her.
We would like everyone to know that this is not a notice of Lois’ death, yet a public declaration of her life. She brought to everyone around her a joy of life and comfort with her love for all she met and came to know. We are all better for having known her and wish her eternal happiness in the house of the Lord.
Visitation was Friday, Oct. 3, at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at Crofts Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio or the Blanco United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 339, Blanco.

MARY ANNE DAUGHDRIL
Mary Ann Daughdril was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, April 16, 1933, and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2003, in Johnson City, Texas at the age of 70.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Lane Duaghdril of Johnson City; three sons, Robert E. Daughdrill of Sulfur, LA, Ben Daughdril of The Woodlands, and Brian Daughdril of Lake Charles, LA.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Harold and sister -in-law Elizabeth Dough of Conroe as well as seven grandchildren.
No services are scheduled to be held at this time.

BEATRICE CATHRINE PABST
Beatrice Cathrin Pabst was laid to rest at the Mosonic Cemetery in Johnson City Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003.
Servies were held at Crofts Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Steele as the officating clergy.
Beatrice was born to Robert Nelson Adams and Helen Benjamin Sept. 23, 1913, in North Adams, MA. She went to be with her Lord at the age of 70.
She is survived by three sisters, Helen Marie Anisworth of Monroe LA, Joyce Prader of Tampa, and Ella Mae Tucker of Monroe, LA. She is also survived by one brother, Nathan Adams of Lake Charles, LA.

ROY “BUCK” D. GOURLEY
Roy “Buck” D. Gourley, 69, of Briggs passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, in Temple.
Buck was born in Johnson City. He was a retired rancher and a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Charlie Dell Gourley; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Y. and Mark Wiley of Liberty Hill; son Monti R. and his wife Lisa Gourley of Austin; son Raney Lynn Gourley of Briggs; granddaughter Wendy Lynn Wiley of San Antonio; sisters Helen R. Collins of Buchanan Dam Village and Bobby and Bill Kennedy of Pasadena.
He is also survived by six nephews and four nieces. Graveside services and interment were held Monday, Oct. 1, 2003, in the Bear Creek Cemetery, north of Bertram, with Rev. Max Copeland officiating.

Grace Marie Trudeau Benson
Grace Marie Trudeau Benson, 76, died of Parkinson’s disease at her home in Metairie, LA, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003.
A funeral mass will be offered by the Most Reverend Phillip M. Hannan, Retired Archbishop of New Orleans, Wednesday at 11 a.m., at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. A memorial mass will also take place at the Immaculate Conception Chapel at 285 Oblate in San Antonio Friday at 11 a.m. Private burial will follow.
Mrs. Benson, the daughter of Louis Joseph and Edvige Marie Trudeau, was born March 1, 1927, in New Orleans at her parent’s home near the French Quarter. Her father served as the Commodore of the Eighth Coast Guard District Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson, her sister, Marillyn Trudeau Barbot, the family of five children she and Mr. Benson shared: Renee Benson LeBlanc, Donn Walker, Susan Walker, Rick Walker and Mimi Peake; and six grandchildren: Rita Benson LeBlanc, Ryan Benson LeBlanc, Dawn Benson Jones, Trevor Walker Stucke, Shannon Walker Stucke and Christopher Walker.

Laura Hazel Harmon
Laura Hazel Harmon, 89, a life-long resident of Blanco, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2003. Born in Orange, Dec. 13, 1913, she was the daughter of Jesse Manson Harmon and Jessie May Lindeman Harmon. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II, she was a member of the Blanco Church of Christ.
Ms. Harmon retired in 1978 after working for the U. S. Postal Service in Blanco for 33 years. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Louis Edward Harmon, and sister, Evelyn Addie Buckner, she is survived by sister, Rachel Shirley House of San Marcos; nieces Nancy Jo Harmon of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and Carol Sue Lane of Dale; nephews Don Harmon of Boerne, Richard Buckner of Allen, and Ken Harmon of Boerne. Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8: p.m. The funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Blanco Church of Christ, Michael Bryan, officiating.

Donald Robert Nelson
Donald Robert Nelson, residing in Blanco went to be with the Lord Nov. 9, 2003, after a recent diagnosis of renal cancer.
He had been employed in the heating and air conditioning industry for 30 years with the last four years as a division manager with Friedrich Air Condition in San Antonio.
Don was born Nov. 10, 1949, and had left his wife Leslie Nelson; daughter Marin Nelson age 15 and son Owen Nelson age 9. He is also survived by his mother Wanda Nelson and sister Jennifer Champlin. His father Robert Nelson preceded him in death.
This will be a service to celebrate the memory of Don’s life at the Franklin Family Ranch, Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. J.D. Link Pastor of Abundant Grace Fellowship will officiate the service.

MELVIN RAY PICKETT
Melvin Ray Pickett was born July 21, 1921, in San Antonio to Jacob Pickett and Gladys Bishop and went to be with his Lord Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in Johnson City at the age of 82.
Melvin is survived by his wife Gwen Pickett of Johnson City, daughter Glenda Steed of Pearland, brother Marion Picket of New Braunfels, sister Vida Williamson of Canyon Lake and daughter-in-law Gloria Donnely of Bedford. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sabrea Munz and husband Blaed and Wayne and Theresa Pickett, as well as four great-grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Munz and Tyler Dean and Leslie Pickett.
Funeral services were held at Crofts Funeral home Saturday, Sept. 20, followed by Melvin being laid to rest in the Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City. Bro. Ernest Topper was the officiating clergy. Pallbearers were the Masonic Brothers.
