Esther Hahn Fischer

Esther Hahn Fischer, 86, of Cuero, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004.
She was born May 23, 1918, in Cuero, to the late Rev. Arthur A. and Wilhelmina Reinhard Hahn. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Survivors: sons, David J. Fischer of New Orleans, Louisiana, A. Charles Fischer of Midland, Michigan, Daniel H. Fischer of Bellevue, Washington, and James A. Fischer of Sacramento, California; sister, Dorothea Darwell of Kallispell, Montana; brothers, Oscar Hahn of Houston and Dr. Andrew L. Hahn of Dunellen, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Arthur C. "Bob" Fischer.
Visitation was Sunday, Oct. 24 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Steve Byrne officiated. Burial was at Stevens Cemetery in Concrete. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Services for Ruth Klingeman Smith, 87, of Yorktown, who died Thursday, were Sunday, Oct. 24 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Karnes City Cemetery. Rhodes Funeral Home, Karnes City, 830-780-3334.

Iola Dell Kenne

Iola Dell Kenne, 92, of Yorktown, died Saturday, November 9, 2002.
She was born March 6, 1910, in Bexar County, to the late John A. and Ruth Curry Gifford. She was a farmer and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors: daughter, Dorothy Thieme of Nordheim; sons, Wilbur Kenne and James Kenne, both of Yorktown, and Clifton Kenne of Cuero; sisters, Nan Jestina Gallant of Medina and Edna Earl Hill of Haltom City; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Herman F. Kenne; son, Herman L. Kenne; parents; sisters, Elizabeth Willetts and Electa Lee Wisdom; brother, Henry A. Gifford; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Monday, November 11 at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home chapel. Services were Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, Mr. Raymond Jackel officiated. Burial was at Westside Cemetery. Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home, Yorktown, 361-564-2277.

Kennan Kinte Burden

Kennan Kinte Burden, 25, of Cuero, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002.
He was born January 28, 1977, in Cuero, to Tommy Washington and Nelda Nichols Garner of Cuero.
Survivors: son, Jamil Edric Burden of Victoria; parents; adopted father, Donald Burden of Cuero; step-father, James S. Garner of Cuero; sisters, DeShanna Clay of San Antonio, Laura Nell Burden and DeSirea Burden, both of Cuero; stepsisters, Stephanie Vaughn of Brenham, Stacy Vaughn of Washington, D.C., Tabitha Perez and Jody Perez, both of Victoria; stepbrothers, Jamie Vaughn of LaWard and Steven Perez of Victoria; and grandparents, Laura Bell Burden of Cuero, and the Rev. William Sr. and Nellie Nichols, of Cuero.

Ralph Franzetti

Ralph Franzetti, 59, of Cuero, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002.
He was born October 20, 1943, in Austin, to the late Joe C. and Martha Sunberg Franzetti. He was a watchmaker for a jewelry store. He was a rodeo clown and an actor, appearing in such movies as "Red-Headed Stranger," "Johnny Be Good," and "My Boyfriend's Back." He was a Catholic.
Survivors: wife, Sandra Dimoree Franzetti of Cuero; daughter, Beverly Ann Torres of Grand Rapids, Mich.; son, Brian Lee Franzetti of Austin; brothers, Robert Franzetti and Monte Franzetti, both of Austin, and Murray Franzetti of Henderson; and five grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents.
Visitation was Friday, November 15 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Saturday at the funeral home chapel, Rev. Chris Viscardi officiated. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Rose Meyer, 83, of Yorktown, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002.
She was born March 12, 1919, in Gonzales, to the late Homer and Mae Holt Miller. She was a homemaker.

Frank Kolodziej

Frank Kolodziej, 98, of Yorktown, died Saturday, November 16, 2002.
He was born September 15, 1904, in Rabke, to the late Antone and Josephine Broll Kolodziej. He was a farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors: stepdaughter, Joanne McClaugherty of Victoria; step-sons, Fredrick Tam of Channelview and Paul Tam of Victoria; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Elizabeth Warzecha Tam Kolodziej; parents; sister, Susan Janyssek; and brother, Raymond Kolodziej.

George H. Brandt Jr.

George Henry Brandt Jr., 74, of Yorktown, died Friday, November 15, 2002.
He was born August 15, 1928, in Dobskyville, to the late George Sr. and Elizabeth Landgrebe Brandt. He was a retired operator at an aluminum plant at Alcoa in Point Comfort.
Survivors: daughter, Elizabeth Ann Blalock of Adkins; sons, Kenneth Brandt of Inez and George H. Brandt III of San Antonio; sister, Robbie Boldt of Yorktown; brothers, Harold Brandt and Pete Brandt, both of Yorktown; and five grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents; and sisters, Ruby Mainka, Gertrude Brandt and Leona Moritz.

Deacon Jesse L. Center

Deacon Jesse Leroy Center, 82, of Cuero, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003.
He was born April 8, 1921, in Thomaston, to the late Jesse and Elnita Green Center. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked in maintenance for Victoria Compress.
Survivors: wife, Rosie Lee Peoples Center; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: daughter, Nellie Diane Lewis; and son, Joe Lewis.
Visitation was Friday, Oct. 10 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Friday at Mt. Bethany Baptist Church in Thomaston, the Rev. Chester Polk officiated. Burial was at Thomaston Community Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, 361-275-2343.

Juanita T. Young

Juanita Taylor Young, 86, of Cuero, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003.
She was born May 2, 1917, in DeWitt County, to the late Tom and Annie Belle Edwards Taylor. She was retired from Uniroyal Tire Company in Detroit, Michigan, with 37 years of service.
Survivors: sisters, Wilma Humes of Cuero and Algeretta Taylor of Pomona, California; and brothers, Walter Taylor and Marvin Taylor, both of Detroit, Michigan.
Preceded in death by: parents; sister, Ezella Stegall; and brothers, Caleb Taylor, Willie Taylor, and Seymour Taylor.
Private services were held. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Cecilia R. Angermiller

Cecilia Rose Angermiller, 92, of Ijamsville, Maryland, and formerly of Yorktown, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003.
She was born Nov. 13, 1910, in Yorktown, to the late August and Rose Marie Zielonka Boldt. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors: daughter, Rosalie Wienhoff of Ijamsville, Maryland; brother, Edwin Boldt of Victoria; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husbands, Joseph Frank Demmer and Fred Lamar Angermiller; sons, Lawrence Demmer and Raymond Demmer; and brothers, Carl Boldt, Leon Boldt, Victor Boldt, and A. J. Boldt.
Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 9 at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home, Yorktown, 361-564-2277.

Delphine Adickes Schmidt

Delphine Adickes Schmidt, 85, of Mission Valley, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003.
She was born March 11, 1918 in Mission Valley to the late Adolph and Adeline Reinecke Adickes. Delphine worked many years in Cuero at Cuero Foodcraft, Koenig Drive-In, the Barbecue Station, and as a greeter at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Nick Greco; grandchildren, Jim Greco, Kim Eveleth, Jeffrey Schmidt, Michelle Samford, and Bradley Schmidt; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lillie Heller of Mission Valley and Ethel Heller of Inez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Schmidt; her parents; and a sister Elsie Adickes.
Visitation was Tuesday, October 14 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley, with the Rev. Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Burail will be in Hillside Cemetery, Cuero, under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, 361-275-2343.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
