A.V. “Red” Adams
Services for A.V. “Red” Adams, 88, of Kilgore will be 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Mr. Adams died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at Longview Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 31, 1914 in Kilgore to Sudie and Jep Adams. Mr. Adams served our country in the Army during WWII. He retired from the Kilgore Independent School District in 1977 after 26 years in maintenance. Those who knew him affectionately called him “Red.” Mr. Adams lovingly cared for his wife during her 10-year convalescence until her death in 1996. All who knew him will miss A.V.’s kind heart and generous nature.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Elizabeth “Sis” Adams; his parents, three sisters, Edna Carter, Irene Gaw, Vallie Burton Tidmore; and a brother George Adams.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Allison and Julia Adams of Kilgore, Roger and Liz Adams of Hallsville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Katherine Maxwell
Graveside services for Katherine Maxwell, 78, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Beebe officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Mrs. Maxwell died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Longview Regional Hospital in Longview.
She was born Aug. 7, 1924 to Willie and Lillie Petty, and had been a resident of Kilgore for over 58 years. Mrs. Maxwell was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 53-years, M.H. Maxwell; parents, Willie and Lillie Petty; and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Steven Maxwell of Shreveport, La.; one grandson; two sisters, Hattie Muenzler of Dallas and Judy Brumback of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Thomas Allen Rogers, Sr.
JACKSON, Miss. — Services for Thomas Allen Rogers, Sr., 63, of Jackson, Miss., formerly of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at the St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, Miss. with Father John Bonn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home.
Mr. Rogers died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 27, 1939 in Jackson, Miss. and raised in Kilgore. He had been a resident of Jackson, Miss. for the past 40 years and retired as a floor-covering contractor. In high school he lettered in track and football. In 1959 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the French Morocco. He was a tail gunner on a B-52 bomber and served in the K-9 Division of the Military Police. He also served with the Military Intelligence and was assigned to guard Air Force One and the President of the United States. He was an avid fisherman, artist, and master craftsman. He enjoyed training animals and talking with people throughout the world on his C.B. radio. He had been attending St. Richard Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David William Rogers; sister, Jackie D. Rogers; and his parents, James and Tad Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Margie A. Rogers of Jackson, Miss.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Allen Jr. and Heather Rogers of Pearl, Miss. and James W. Rogers of Clinton, Miss.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Suzanne R. and Steve Callahan of Madison, Miss., Terri L. Rogers of Byram, Miss. and Dianna M. Rogers of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Barbara Nau and Peggy Monaban of Brookhaven, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Richard School, Special Kids Program, 1242 Lynwood Drive, Jackson, Miss. 39206.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Windollin Luckey
Services for Windollin Luckey are pending with Cunningham Funeral Home.
Mr. Luckey died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 in Longview.

Willard Sisk, Sr.
Services for Willard Sisk, Sr., 54, of Kilgore are pending with Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Mr. Sisk died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 in El Paso.

JAMES RICHARD SPENCER
Services for James Richard Spencer, 68, of Kilgore were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. Darren Harlan officiating. Burial followed in the Danville Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service were Mike Reagan, Fred McFall, Randy Smith, Matt Howell, James Norton and Carl McFall.
Mr. Spencer died Sunday, Feb. 23, in Longview.
He was born Dec. 2, 1934 in Pritchett, the son of the late Don and Lola Mae Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a United States Army veteran and retired after 32 years as an air traffic control manager for the Federal Aviation Administration. Mr. Spencer was a Texas Hot Shot Driver.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Spencer of Kilgore; son, Johnny Spencer of Marshall; three daughters, Betsy, Teresa and Pam Spencer, all of Kilgore; two sisters, Gail Bragg and JoAnn Somers, both of Newton, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Becky, Jimmy, Alexis, Ashley, Justin, John, Nikki and Jesse; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Julie.

RACHEL WARNOCK
Services for Rachel Warnock, 23, of Kilgore are pending at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Rachel, the daughter of Pastor Chuck and Diana Warnock, was killed in an automobile accident Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 near Canton.

FLORENCE BRATZ HOLLOWAY
Funeral services for Florence Bratz Holloway, 80, of Lake Cherokee were 2 p.m Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Kilgore with the Rev. Bill Blanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Holloway passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 in Plano.
She was born Sept. 26, 1923 in Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alton Holloway.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Schaedel and husband Daryl of Plano, and their children, Alexander and Kailyn; brothers, Webb Bratz of Palestine and Leland Bratz of Elkhart; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.

NITA JOHNSON
Funeral services for Mrs. R.C. “Nita” Johnson, 87, of Kilgore were 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. David Hampton and Frank Mathews officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 in Kilgore.
Pallbearers were Bill Nix, Bill Morton Jr., Lloyd Bolding, Glenn Jones, Dixon Morton and Jeff Bolding.
Honorary pallbearers were Grady Jones Jr., Paul Spear, Larry Covin, Billy Bob Crim, Phillip McCarty and Dayton Walkup.
Mrs. Johnson was born to Pony and Josie Gililland Oct. 2, 1916 in Alba. She graduated valedictorian from Alba High School. Mrs. Johnson attended East Texas State University in Commerce where she played on the basketball team. She married R.C. Johnson and moved to Kilgore in the mid 1930s.
Mrs. Nita was well known for her work as a cosmetologist first at Longhorn Drug and then many years at Pioneer Drug. She helped many people with their beauty needs including the Kilgore College Rangerettes, the Lions Club Minstrel Show, and the Miss Gregg County contest. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of Club Au Courant.
She is survived by nieces and their husbands, Patti and Mark Wiggins of Kilgore, Dorothy and Kyle Bates of Kilgore; a nephew and his wife, Lloyd and Marie Johnson; among great- and great-great nieces and nephews are, Matt and Christina Wiggins of Houston, Mandy Wiggins of Kilgore, Judy and Bill Nicks of Kilgore and Emily Nicks of Kilgore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Johnson, a sister, Louise Fields, and her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Texas Treatment Center or the First Baptist Church of Kilgore.

CALLIE THOMPSON
Services for Callie Thompson, 93, of Kilgore are pending with Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. She died Tuesday morning, March 2, 2004 at the Gregg Home for the Aged.

FROZINE COLBERT
Funeral services for Frozine Colbert of Kilgore are pending at Stanmore Funeral Home. Mrs. Colbert died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Highland Pines.

BEVERLY JEAN DAVIS
Funeral services for Beverly Jean Davis, 42, of Kilgore were 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Victory Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. H.E. Herd officiating. Burial was in Pirtle Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Victory Funeral Serices.
Beverly was born in Rusk County on Jan. 26, 1962 to the late Henry and Catherine Davis Wheat. she departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Marshall Memorial Hospital in Marshall.
At an early age she united with Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ, where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She was a resident at Sugar Creek Home in Marshall for many years.
Preceding her in death are her parents and a sister, Nellie Davis Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a sister, Shanta Michelle Williams; four nieces and three nephews; a very special cousin, Sharon A. Fortson; and numerous aunts and uncles and a host of relatives and friends.

CLARICE FISHER
Funeral services for Clarice Fisher, 70, of Longview will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at Greater Mt. Gideon Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Public viewing will be from noon until 8 p.m. and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Victory Funeral Services.

ALMA B. NELSON
Funeral services for Alma B. Nelson, 93, were 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Greggory Doss of Ozark, Ala., and Morris Johnson officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Nelson passed away Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 in a Longview care center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1910 in Decatur, Ala., to James and Jennie Jarrett Daniel. Alma was a longtime Kilgore resident and was a very dedicated member of the Eastview Baptist Church. During her working career, she was a nurse at both the Laird Memorial and Good Shepherd hospitals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dial Nelson; son, Gary R. Nelson; and granddaughter, Sheri Ann Nelson.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Doss and husband Herschel of Longview; son, Eddie Nelson and wife Kathleen of Dallas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She will also be missed by a host of special friends.
