CARL HARRIS
Graveside services for Carl Harris, 79, of Overton will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 under the direction of Burrows Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Harris died Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, 2003 at his home in Overton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Harris, John Ledbetter, Jake Myers, Joe Hogue and Charles Allen.
He was born Dec. 16, 1924 at St. Stephen, S.C., to Samuel Harris and Janie Louise Murray Harris. Mr. Harris served in the Navy during World War II and was retired from Kilgore Ceramics. He was a member of Laird Hill Baptist Church and had been a resident of this area since 1955.
He was preceded in death by a son, Grady Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Belle Harris; son, Carl Harris Jr. of Overton; brother, Jesse Harris of St. Stephen, S.C.; two sisters, Ruth Hilda Harris and Eloise Nix, both of St. Stephen, S.C.; grandchildren, Derek and Natalie Harris; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.

JIMMY PAUL “STEELBALL” HEADRICK
Services for Jimmy Paul Headrick, 57, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Revs. Freeman Pierce and Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Headrick died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 in Longview.
Mr. Headrick was born March 22, 1946 in Kilgore to Hollis and Joy Headrick. He retired from East Texas Salt Water after 28 years. Mr. Headrick is preceded in death by his father, Hollis; daughter, Kelly Mechelle Headrick; sister, Mary Cozette Headrick; and granddaughter, Kelli Headrick.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Headrick of Kilgore; sons, Phillip Headrick and wife Cheryl of Ignacio, Colo., Billy Bridgewater and wife Linda of New Carey, Texas, and Jeffery Bridgewater and wife Devona of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Kimberly Galyon and husband Scotty of Henderson, Texas, Cynthia Gilreath and husband Robert of Bentonville, Ark., and Sharron Hennesey and husband Chris of Riesel, Texas; mother, Joy Headrick; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family friends.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, 2004, between 6 and 8 p.m.

ADAM THOMAS PRITCHARD
Funeral services for Adam Thomas Pritchard, 21, of Longview will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at the Alpine Presbyterian Church with Dr. William J. Ingersoll and the Rev. Richard Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at the Alpine Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Adam passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 in Arlington.
He was born Sept. 21, 1982 in Longview. He was a 2001 graduate of Longview High School where he was on the Swim team and he participated in Teen Court. He had received an academic scholarship to The University of Texas at Arlington, where he was majoring in political science. He was also preparing to run for the Student Advisory Board. He was also active in other student activities at the university. He was a fifth generation member of the Alpine Presbyterian Church in Longview.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Ginger Pritchard of Longview; brother, William Lawson Pritchard of Longview; grandparents, Bud and Pat Williamson of Longview; aunts, Wendy Otto of Forney, Texas, Jane Ellen Harwell of Garland, Texas, Linda Compton of Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Bobby Williamson of Canton, Texas, Joe Pritchard of The Colony, Texas; cousins, Paige Otto, Michael Otto, Shanna Crow, Jeremy Williamson, Ashley Williamson, Holly Davis, Lori Haney, James Compton, John Compton, Julie Pritchard and Josie Pritchard.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Jane D. Pritchard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 from 6 until 8 p.m.

ED MORTON
Services for Ed Morton, 80, of Henderson were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Crawford A. Crim & Bryan Funeral Homes chapel with the Revs. Gloria Jennings and Charlie Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson. Mr. Morton died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 in Longview.
Pallbearers were Jessie Smith, Don Jarrell, Sonny Allredge, Donnie Howeth, Carl Harmason, Daryll Bennett and Joe Duncan.
Mr. Morton was born in Kilgore and was a member of Danville Lodge #101. He was a Master Mason for 40 years and a Legionaire for three years. Mr. Morton served in the Army’s 37th Division during World War II. A Methodist, he was retired from Ryerson Steel in Houston after 28 years.
Survivors include his wife, Martha “Sip” Morton of Henderson; son, Doug Morton of Kilgore; sister, Katie Mae Prevost of Baton Rouge, La.; step-son, David Cates of Henderson; step-daughters, Carolyn Duncan of Hallsville and Cyndy Cates of Lake Jackson; granddaughters, Mary Emma Morton and Kris Hulsey of Hallsville; step-granddaughters, Morgan Cates, Kristan Cates and Kyleigh Cates, all of Henderson; step-grandson, Robert Don Hulsey of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister-in-law; and numerous other family members and friends of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakhill Methodist Church, Mattie Walling, 10190 R.C. 2112 D, Henderson, TX 75652, or Cross Road United Methodist Church, 1249 FM 6070 E., Kilgore, TX 75662.

BONNIE RAMSEY
Graveside services for Bonnie R. Ramsey, 61, of Kilgore will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Freddie Ward officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Ramsey died Feb. 22 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
Mrs. Ramsey was born Jan. 19, 1943 in Atlanta. She worked for several years at the Gregg Home for the Aged in Kilgore.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her mother, Geneva Mizon of Kilgore; ex-husband, Kenneth L. Ramsey of Avinger; son and daughter-in-law, Athan and Donna Ramsey of Kilgore; daughter, Cindy Padron of Jacksonville; sister, Linda Johnson of Magnolia, Miss.; four grandchildren; three nephews and a niece; and several other loving family.
The family will receive friends between 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

JULIA GREENE
Graveside services for Julia Greene, 80, of Paris, formerly of Kilgore, were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview with the Rev. Robert Besser officiating. Mrs. Greene died Feb. 20 in Paris.
She was born Feb. 20, 1924 in Oakdale, La. Mrs. Greene was retired as a nurse at Roy H. Laird Hospital. She was a member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Greene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ray Dees of Paris; granddaughter, Susan and her husband Reno Stradiotto of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandson, Sam Dees of Paris; brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Nell Murray of Longview; four great-grandchildren; three nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keeton Greene, and her son, Richard Greene.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

BARBARA ANN MCCLUNG GARNER
A Rosary for Barbara Ann McClung Garner, 69, of Palestine will be recited 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Bailey & Foster Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

NELLIE FAYE GAUT
Funeral services for Nellie Faye Gaut, 75, Overton, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mac Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens near Henderson.
Mrs. Gaut died Monday, April 12, 2004 at her residence. She was born July 17, 1928 in Gilmer to the late Taylor and Effie Danner Cook. She lived most all her life in the Overton area and married J. C. Gaut, September 12,1945. She was co-owner of J C Gaut Contractors for over 30 years, Gaut's Grocery until 1973, and Cook's Nursery, and she was a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J. C. Gaut, on March 9, 2002, and her son, Donny Gaut, on Aug. 3, 2000.
Survivors include grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Randy and Celeste Gaut, Overton; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Cindy and Jim Tierney, Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Patty Gaut Sanders, Overton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Mildred Cook, Arp, and James and Robin Cook, Overton; sister, Pauline Ashcraft, Weatherford;seven great-grandchildren; two aunts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Nick Burrows, Marcus Davis, Kelvin Darden, Dudley Hickman, Wayne Knighton, and Randy Gaut.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14.

NOLA “SKEETER” DANIELS
Funeral services for Nola “Skeeter” Daniels of Kilgore are pending at Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore. Mrs. Daniels died Thursday, May 20, 2004 at a Longview hospital.

BILLYE HENDERSON HAWKINS
Funeral services for Billye Joyce Henderson Hawkins, 66, of Longview will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Henderson and David Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Billye Joyce Henderson Hawkins was born in Rusk County on Aug. 28, 1937 to the late Emory and Mae Etta Sanders Henderson. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 19, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
At an early age she became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She attended New Hope public schools and graduated from Fredonia High School. Receipt of her cosmetology license came after graduation from Tyler Beauty College in Tyler.
She worked as an beautician throughout her adult life in Dallas at “Heads Up” and also in shops in Houston and Longview.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hawkins; her parents; one sister, Flora Reddic; and three brothers, Luke Ray, Curtis and Emory Henderson Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sister, Mary Lynn Brown of Kilgore; four nieces, including Cheryl Lynn Sanders of Kilgore; four nephews, including the Rev. David Daniels and Jerry Reddic, both of Kilgore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The public viewing will be from noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, at Victory Funeral Services.

BARBARA HANSON DAVIS
Services for Barbara Hanson Davis, 66, of Kilgore will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 in Kilgore.
She was born in Gorman on Dec. 24, 1937 to Ed and Lena Hanson. Their family moved to Kilgore when Barbara was a child. She was raised in the Church of Christ. Mrs. Davis was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Kilgore High School. She attended Kilgore College. Barbara worked at Beall's Department store and retired from Laird Hospital as a telephone switchboard operator.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, James “Slick” Davis of Kilgore; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gaylynn Ellerd of Kilgore and Jacqueline and Gregory Allen of Overton; a son and daughter-in-law, J. Bruce and Mary Hinton of Liberty City; three grandchildren, Tera Van Meter Hernandez of Tyler, Dustin Walls of Overton, Abby Hinton of Liberty City; one great-grandchild, Angelise Hernandez of Tyler; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her first husband, J.W. “Buzzy” Ellerd.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between 6 and 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Masonic Lodge #101, P.O. Box 786, Kilgore, Texas 75663, or to the American Cancer Society.

MARY LYNNE NEWSOME GIDDENS
Memorial services for Mary Lynne Newsome Giddens were held in Dallas on July 30, 2004. Lynne was born in Dallas on Aug. 12, 1961, and died in Mesquite on July 21, 2004.
Lynne graduated from Kings' Daughters' Hospital in Temple as a licensed vocational nurse and became a registered nurse upon graduation from McClennan County Community College, Waco. She worked in the nursing field in several hospitals throughout the state and previously owned Central Texas Home Health Care in Temple.
A burial service for Lynne will be held Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Kilgore Cemetery. She will be buried next to her grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. William Hattaway, both of whom predeceased her. Also predeceasing her were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Newsome.
She is survived by her parents, Richard and Sandra Hattaway Melville of Bellville and C.L. and Charlene Newsome of Marble Falls; her sons, Jeffery and Zachary Giddens of Garland; stepdaughters, Trisha Giddens of Garland and Sherry Tanner of Kaufman; a sister, Diane Fasbinder of Garland and her husband Lee of Houston; and an uncle, Milton Hattaway and his wife Jan of Kilgore.
