Bob Roberts
Visitation for Bob Roberts, 41, of Houston will be five to seven p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Roberts died Saturday, January 12, 2002 in Houston, Texas.
He was born December 5, 1960 in Texas City, Texas. Bob attended Texas City Schools and was a 1979 honor graduate of Texas City High School. He was listed as Who’s Who of American High School Students. Mr. Roberts enjoyed computers and was an accomplished bowler.
He is survived by his parents, Ann and Richard Alarid of Longview; a brother, Ed Roberts of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Brent Hale of Kilgore; grandfather, Glen D. Ulsrud of Longview; an aunt, Betty Dellolio of Longview; two nieces and three nephews; numerous cousins.
His father Jack H. Roberts preceded him in death.

Willie Arthur Rosebrock
Cremation arrangements for Willie Arthur Rosebrock, 60, of Kilgore are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Memorial Services will be held two p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002 in the Chapel of Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy, Texas. Mr. Rosebrock died Thursday, January 10, 2002 in a Longview hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lu Rosebrock of Kilgore; a son and daughter in law, William Arthur and Julie Rosebrock of Kingsville; a son, Troy Scott Rosebrock of Dallas; a sister, Lana Lagerquist of Tomball and two grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the South Texas Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville, Texas 78104-1210 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78761.

Dorothy Sartain
Graveside services for Dorothy Sartain, 86, of Kilgore will be one p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2002 at the Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp, Texas with the Reverend Mary Maxine Palmer officiating. Mrs. Sartain died Wednesday, January 9, 2002 in Longview, Texas.
She was born September 5, 1915 in Olney, Texas. Dorothy Sartain was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her adult life was spent in the Kilgore/Longview area. She was a member of the Woodland Christian Church of Longview. She was a very loving, caring, and giving to all. She loved unconditionally and gave of herself and her worldly possessions so that her family might be happy and safe. She will be greatly missed, but we all know her suffering on earth is over and she is in a better place with those she loved who went on before her. We can only look to the time when we will be united again.
Mrs. Sartian is survived by her daughter, Jane Owens and her husband, Gene of Arlington; son, Neal Barr and his wife, Chris of Kilgore; sister, Nell Strickland of Kilgore; two brothers, Randy Surratt and Frank Surratt, of South Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one step-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Sartain in 1979.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Woodland Christian Church, 511 West Richardson Street; Longview, Texas 75602.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home Saturday morning between ten and eleven a.m.

Joe Allen Stevenson
Funeral services for Joe Allen Stevenson, 31, of Kilgore will be held ten a.m. Monday, January 14, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with the Reverend Bill Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mr. Stevenson died Tuesday at his home in Kilgore.
He was born January 12, 1970 in Overton the son of the late Charles Phillip Stevenson and the late Nelda Sue Milton Gore. Mr. Stevenson was a Machinist and was currently employed by Marathon - Le Tourneau in Longview.
Survivors include two daughters, Heather Diane Stevenson and Chelsea Jo Stevenson both of Kilgore; sister, Kimberly Steddum of Kilgore; brother, Michael Stevenson; uncles, Robert Milton of Kilgore, Vernon Ray Milton of Longview and James Chancelor of Dallas; aunt, Jo Beth Reeves of Kilgore and Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receives friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Annette Jones Smith
Services for Mrs. Annette Jones Smith, 62, of Kilgore will be at ten o’clock a.m., Saturday January 12, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel.. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith passed away January 8, 2002 in Tyler.
She was born May 3, 1939 in Center, Texas, the daughter of the late Glover Monroe and Lera Nolan Haddock Jones. Mrs. Smith was retired from Trane in Tyler after 30 years of service. She was also a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter Theresa Nichols of Longview; son, Mohammed Yousef Siddick of Jeda, Saudi Arabia; sister, Evelyn Waters of Whitehouse; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents and brother Austin Wayne Jones.
The family of Mrs. Smith will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Clara Mae Rucker Zuber
Graveside services for Mrs. Clara Mae Rucker Zuber, 87, of Liberty City will be twelve o’clock noon, January 9, 2002 at Danville Cemetery with the Reverend Bruce Wells officiating. Mrs. Zuber passed away in a Longview hospital Monday morning, January 7, 2002.
Mrs. Zuber was born in Hot Springs County, Arkansas. She had lived in the East Texas area since 1969, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty City. Her husband James Andrew Zuber, and son, James Darrell Zuber, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Zuber is survived by her son Kenneth Zuber of Freer, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Hazel Jackson Coe
Services for Mrs. Hazel Jackson Coe, 85, of Kilgore will be at ten o’clock a.m., Wednesday January 9, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. William J. Ingersoll officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery near Henderson, Texas. Mrs. Coe passed away January 7, 2002 in Kilgore.
She was born May 27, 1916 in Henderson, Texas, the daughter of the late Jesse L. and Cora Ashby Cochran. Mrs. Coe had received a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin both in education. She began teaching at the age of 19 in Laneville, Texas and retired in 1979 after 44 years in the field of education. She taught in the Cayuga as well as the Kilgore school systems. After many years of teaching in the Kilgore Independent School District, Mrs. Coe served as Director of Elementary Curriculum for the Kilgore schools and was later the principal for the Chandler School in Kilgore. She was a past president of the Texas State Teachers Association. Mrs. Coe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore as well as former long time member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Kilgore. She was a dedicated and devoted educator and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three nephews and their spouses Robert and Glenda Cochran of Kilgore, James and Judy Cochran of Henderson and Rex and Karen Cochran of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a stepson Raymond Coe, Jr. of Houston and numerous great nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Mrs. Coe is preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years Dudley Jackson, her second husband Raymond Coe and two brothers Roy and Ray Cochran.
The family of Mrs. Coe will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:00.

Jackie Morton
Services for Jackie Morton, 57, of Longview will be two p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. William J. Ingersoll officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Morton died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at her home in Longview.
She was born April 1, 1944 in Gladewater, Texas to Joe C. and Opal Ward Bryce. She attended Littlefield Public Schools. Jackie was a graduate of Judson High School. She was the office administrator for Bill Morton Real Estate before beginning a twelve-year sales career in the Dillard’s Ladies’ Ready to Wear Department. Her greatest pride while working at Dillard’s was pleasing her many friends and customers. Mrs. Morton was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Morton of Longview; three children and their spouses, Kay and Glenn Oliver of Indiatlantic, Florida, Bill, Jr. and Luann Morton of Dallas, Dixon and Juliandra Morton of Kilgore; eight grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins including a special uncle, Robert Andrews of Longview.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 1216, Kilgore, Texas or the Hospice of Longview.

C.W. Currier
Services for C. W. Currier, 75, of Liberty City will be four p.m., Monday, January 7, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mark Towns officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery. Mr. Currier died Saturday, January 5, 2002 in Tyler, Texas.
He was born September 17, 1926 in Stephenville, Texas. Mr. Currier attended Seldon Public Schools. He served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Currier retired from Gregg County Precinct 3. He was a member of the Joy Baptist Church and the East Texas Barbeque Cookers Association. Mr. Currier enjoyed his family and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Serena Currier of Liberty City; three sons and daughters-in-law; David and Brenda Currier of Tyler, Delbert Currier and his fiancé Mikie Smith of Center, Texas, Donald and Amber Currier of Liberty City; ten grandchildren, Crystal Currier of Nacogdoches, Brooke Currier of Nacogdoches, Misty Currier of Allen, Texas, Jeffrey Norton of Liberty City, Joey Currier of Center, Amber Currier of Allen, Chelsea Norton of Liberty City, Kamie Currier of Allen, Katie Currier of Longview, Cheyene Smith of Center; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Currier was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home Sunday evening between five and seven p.m.

Charles Watkins
Services for Charles Watkins will be ten a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Dr. W.M. Lynch officiating. Burial will be three p.m. Tuesday at the Courtland Cemetery, Queen City, Texas. Mr. Watkins died Friday, January 4, 2002 in Kilgore.
He was born April 21, 1931 in Smyrna, Texas. Mr. Watkins attended pubic schools in Smyrna and was a 1949 graduate of Atlanta High School. He completed courses at Tyler Commercial College. Mr. Watkins was a longtime bookkeeper and office manager for Gibson Drilling Company. He was on the board of the Leon and Mary Gibson Trust Fund. Mr. Watkins was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where he was a past board member.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susie Watkins of Kilgore; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles, Jr. and Millie Watkins of Wenatchee, Washington, Kenneth Watkins of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Twilla and Fred Bennett of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Bill Watkins of Fergus Fall Minnesota, John Watkins of Atlanta, Texas; two sisters, Catherine Brown of Atlanta, Texas, Mable Oliver of Alma, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Sheyna Watkins of Centralia, Washington, Megan Dooley of Loon Lake, Washington, Amanda Bennett of Grand Prairie, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home Monday evening between five-thirty and seven p.m.

Charles Aaron Whipple
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Charles Aaron Whipple, 63 of Kilgore at ten o’clock a.m., Monday January 7, 2002 at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Carlos Rangel officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Danville Cemetery. He died January 4, 2002 at his home.
He was born December 10, 1938 in Thibodaux, Louisiana the son of the late Maurice Sr. and Jeanne Dupre Whipple. Mr. Whipple had been self employed for many years and was well known within the oilfield. Most recently he had been employed by Weatherford Universal of Kilgore. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a Member of the Danville Masonic Lodge #101. His love and generosity will be remembered by all.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years and mother of his children Patsy Whipple of Kilgore; four children and their spouses, Marcia and Steve Dean of Kilgore, Mark and Melissa Whipple of Katy, Myra and Clayton Johnson of Victoria and Maurice and Rita Whipple of Kilgore; his grandchildren Scott, Meagan, Jeremy Dean, Brandon, Matthew, Taylor and Adrian Whipple, Brittany Whipple, Daniel and Erin Johnson, Brett and Brian Forbus; two great granddaughters, Alyssa Dean and Cassidy Whipple; sisters and brother in law, Irene and Frankie Tabor and Maurine Bourgeoius of Thibodaux, LA, a brother Maurice Whipple, Jr. of Metaire, La and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home with the family receiving friends afterwards.

Irala Flake "Bill" Biggs
Funeral services for Mr. Bill Biggs, 57, of Kilgore will be held two p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Reverend Don Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Biggs died Thursday at Laird Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bill Biggs was born September 21, 1944 in Arkansas son of the late Irala Flake Biggs, Sr. and Margaret White Biggs. He had been a resident of the Kilgore area for many years working as a truck driver and in the East Texas Oil Field.
Mr. Biggs is survived by his wife, Thelma Biggs of Kilgore; five daughters, Marie Coughran of Washington, Pamela Sue Thomas and husband Chris of Oklahoma, Lucinda Sanchez and husband Hector of Longview, Laura Biggs and husband Adrian Turner of Kilgore and Crystal Good of Kilgore; son, Irala F. “Bill” Biggs, Jr. of Kilgore; two step sons, Carl Goodman of Oklahoma and William Goodman of Kilgore; brother, James Mack Biggs and wife Janet of Kilgore; nine grandchildren.
His daughter, Rebecca Nanette Biggs and grandson, Bo Dillion Barrett, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from six until eight o’clock p.m. Monday night.
