Harris, Trudy Faye
Graveside services for Trudy Faye Harris, 49, of Kilgore will be held Thursday, February 19, 2004 at 12:30 P.M. at Kilgore City Cemetery with the Reverend Barry Metz and Dr. Tom Beets officiating. Miss Harris passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in Kilgore.
Trudy was born October 9, 1954 in Laurel, Mississippi the daughter of James and Bennie Harris. She is preceded in death by her father James, and grandmother Estelle Harris
She is survived by her mother Bennie Harris of Kilgore, sisters Annette Harris of Dallas, Jamie Lee Harris of Kilgore, aunts and uncles, Bill and Earline Watson of Kilgore, and Rutha and Russ Alger of Sierra Vista, Arizona, as well as numerous cousins and other family friends.
Memorials may be made to the Kilgore Bible Church AWANA Program.

JO THREADGILL MAY
Services for Jo Threadgill May, 76, of Kilgore, will be ten a.m., Friday, February 20, 2004 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Reverends Robert Besser and Ralph Rudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. May died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in Kilgore.
Mrs. May was born September 6, 1927 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to J. W. and Margaret Matlock. She and her family moved to Joinerville, Texas in 1930. Mrs. May attended Gaston School and was a 1944 graduate of Kilgore High School before she attended Kilgore College. She became the secretary to the dean of Kilgore College, Cruce Stark. Jo Matlock married 1st Lieutenant Delmer Threadgill and moved to Japan. He was later killed in action in the Korean Conflict. After moving back to Kilgore Mrs. May worked for East Texas Salt Water Company from 1958 – 1980. She married James May November 19, 1966. Mrs. May was the office manager for May Engineering before they retired in 1991. She was a 60-year member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she became a certified Lay Leader. Mrs. May was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 Years and active in the Club Au Currant.
She is survived by her husband, James May of Kilgore; a son and daughter-in-law, Del and Lane Threadgill of Dallas; two grandsons, Mat Threadgill of Dallas, Warren Threadgill of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Thursday evening between five-thirty and seven p.m.

Hurlburt Jr., Roderic Wright
A memorial service celebrating the life of Roderic Wright Hurlburt Jr., 70, of Kilgore will be held at two o’clock p.m., Friday, February 20, 2004 at St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Kilgore with the Reverends Robert Besser and Ralph Rudy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Hurlburt died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at his residence.
He was born December 12, 1933 in Stowe, Vermont, the oldest of two children born to his parents, Reverend Roderic Sr. and his wife Mrs. Rhoda Maie Hollady Hurlburt. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served in Korea and retired from Vertex after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife Billye Hurlburt of Kilgore; children and their spouses Barry and Soheila Hurlburt of New Orleans, Craig and Lori Hurlburt of Chantilly, VA, Mark and Jill Hurlburt of Longview and Kim Hurlburt of Kilgore; a brother and sister in law Sidney and Carol Hurlburt of Reston, VA; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Ashlee, Andrew, Rachel and Kristopher Hurlburt, Precious Lummus; two nieces Heather and Holly other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from five until seven o’clock p.m.

Myers, Jimmy
Services for Jimmy Myers, 71, of Kilgore will be four p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Kenith Cline and Brother Mark Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mr. Myers died Thursday, February 19, 2004 in Longview, Texas.
He was born June 30, 1932 in Harris, Oklahoma. His family moved to Kilgore in 1938. When he was in 9th grade they moved to Los Angles, California and he graduated from J Freemont High School. Mr. Myers served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Kilgore College before going to work at East Texas Salt Water Company in 1961. Mr. Myers was a member of the Rusk County Democrat Club, where he was past president and the International Association of Machinist (IAM) Union, Local Lodge 2641, Kilgore, Texas.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife Jimmie Myers of Kilgore; a daughter, Susan Myers of Kilgore; and aunt, Bonnie Brinkley of Little Mound, Texas; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Gladyce Myers.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between five-thirty and seven p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.

McKinney, Darcy Lynn
Services for Darcy Lynn McKinney, 41, of Liberty City will be ten a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Hoffpowier and Reverend Don Beebe officiating. Burial will follow at Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McKinney died Thursday, February 18, 2004 in Longview.
Mrs. McKinney was born in Kilgore on February 27, 1962 to Darrell and Mary Jo McKinney. Her brother Arlin McKinney and her father Darrell preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Robert Long of Liberty City; two daughters Sarah Herrington of Athens, Erica Council and husband Scottie Craig of Kilgore; son Trey Council of Longview; granddaughter Mary Alyson Craig; mother Mary Jo McKinney of Forney; two sisters and brothers-in-law Brenda and John Starkey of Forney, Jodie and Clay Bushnell of Sour Lake; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from six to eight p.m. Friday, February 20, 2004.

Britt, Calvin
Services for Mr. Calvin Britt, 76, of Karnack formerly of Kilgore will be held at Two O’clock in the afternoon Monday, February 23, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Reverend Joe Chism officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. He died Saturday morning at his home in Karnack.
Mr. Britt was born April 20 1927 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana the son of the late John Terry and Gertrude Britt. He graduated from high school in Dubach, La., served in the United States Army during World War Two and was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Britt was a member and Past Master of the Danville Masonic Lodge #101 in Kilgore; also a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies of the Masonic Lodge and Sharon Temple of the Shrine. He was a past Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #265 in Kilgore. Mr. Britt worked and retired in January 1985 from Mobil Oil, upon retirement he moved to Caddo Lake one of the places he loved most on this earth, where he pursued his dream of hunting, fishing and helping friends and neighbors fulltime.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Mary Goodwin Britt of Karnack; son, Terry Britt of Karnack; three granddaughters, Melanie Smith and husband David of Lumberton, TX, Kimberly Spruiell and husband Carl of Marshall,TX., and Kristy Gothard and husband Jeremie of Gladewater, TX.; five grandchildren; seven sister, Doris McDaniels of Springfield, MO., Ruth Simmons of Kilgore, TX., Joyce Green of Longview, TX., Virginia Britt of Kilgore, TX., Lydia McKinley of Minden, LA., Rhoda Nelson of Simsboro, LA. and Myra Nelson of Ruston, LA.; mother-in-law, Melba Goodwin of Plano, TX.; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles Goodwin of Kilgore, TX., Lawrence Goodwin of Dallas, TX. and Sherry Goodwin Brown of Plano, TX.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Hearts Way Hospice of Northeast Texas.

Greene, Julia
Graveside services for Julia Greene, 80, of Paris, Texas, formerly of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Lakeview Cemetery, Longview, Texas with the Reverend Robert Besser officiating. Mrs. Greene died February 20, 2004 in Paris, Texas.
She was born February 20, 1924 in Oakdale, Louisiana. Mrs. Greene was retired as a nurse at Roy H. Laird Hospital. She was a member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church
Mrs. Greene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ray Dees of Paris, Texas; a granddaughter Susan and her husband Reno Stradiotto of Minneapolis, Minnesota, grandson Sam Dees of Paris; brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Nell Murray of Longview; four great-grandchildren; three nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keeton Greene and her son, Richard Greene.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends between five-thirty and seven p.m. Monday at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Ramsey, Bonnie R.
Graveside services for Bonnie R. Ramsey, 61, of Kilgore, Texas will be four o’clock p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Reverend Freddie Ward officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Ramsey died February 22, 2004 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
She was born January 19, 1943 in Atlanta, Texas. Mrs. Ramsey worked for several years at The Gregg Home for the Aged in Kilgore.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her mother, Geneva Mixon of Kilgore; ex-husband, Kenneth L. Ramsey of Avinger; a son and daughter in law Athan and Donna Ramsey of Kilgore and a daughter Cindy Padron of Jacksonville; a sister, Linda Johnson of Magnolia, Mississippi; four grandchildren, three nephews, a niece and several other loving family.
The family will receive friends between seven and nine p.m. Tuesday at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Headrick, Jimmy Paul
Services for Jimmy Paul Headrick, 57, of Kilgore, will be Two P.M., Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverends Freeman Pierce and Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Headrick died Sunday, February 22, 2004 in Longview.
Mr. Headrick was born March 22, 1946 in Kilgore to Hollis and Joy Headrick. He retired from East Texas Salt Water after 28 years. Mr. Headrick is preceded in death by his father Hollis, daughter Kelly Mechelle Headrick, sister Mary Cozette Headrick, and granddaughter Kelli Headrick.
He is survived by his wife Nelda Headrick of Kilgore, sons Phillip Headrick and wife Cheryl of Ignacio, Colorado, Billy Bridgewater and wife Linda of New Caney, Texas, and Jeffery Bridgewater and wife Devona of San Antonio, Texas, daughters Kimberly Galyon and husband Scotty of Henderson, Texas, Cynthia Gilreath and husband Robert of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sharron Hennesey and husband Chris of Riescl, Texas. Fourteen Grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family friends.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday, February 24, 2004, evening between six and eight p.m.

Rouse, Treva
Services for Treva Jane Clark Rouse, 72, of Kilgore, will be Two P.M., Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Mr. Dale Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Rouse passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in Richardson.
Mrs. Rouse was born December 30, 1931 in Kilgore to the late Charley and Truma Clark. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Rouse was a member of the Highway 42 Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Joshua Larry Rouse; two daughters and a son-in-law Janie and Ernie Horton of United Arab Emirates and Linda Rouse Ault of Dallas; sister Idell Hutchinson of Hilton, Oklahoma; four brothers Earl Clark of Kilgore, Don Clark of Kountz, Tony Clark of Kilgore and Howard “Butch” Clark of Houston; granddaughter Leia Ault of Dallas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family friends.
Her son Larry Joe Rouse precedes Mrs. Rouse in death.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday, February 27, 2004, evening between six and eight p.m.

Smith, Curtis
Services for Curtis Calvin Smith, 79, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Beebe officiating. Mr. Smith died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in Tyler, Texas.
He was born April 16, 1924 in Muleshoe, Texas. Mr. Smith was a true cowboy in his younger years. He loved horses and never met a stranger. Mr. Smith loved to play 42. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he loved his church family. Mr. Smith was a man of his word as well as a man of great faith. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 56 years, Queenie Smith of Kilgore; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Smitherman of Kilgore; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Calvin Dale Smith of Kilgore, Tommy Joe Smith of Kilgore, Glen Roy and Linda Smith of Kilgore; two sisters, Margie Charping of Kilgore, Lois Laminack of Paducah, Texas; two brothers, Leroy Smith of Arkansas, Hershel Smith of Brazil; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 119 Peavine Road, Kilgore, Texas 75662
The family will receive friends between six and eight p.m. Friday at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
