Mr. Fladd died Dec. 6, 2004, in Tyler.
He was born June 4, 1934, in Henderson County to W.C. Fladd and Amanda Parker Fladd.
Not only was Uncle Snap a fantastic father, he was a best friend to anyone he knew. He was the life of the party and always had a way of making you smile. He loved anything outdoors and loved to fish.
He knew everything about old cars and could simply astound you with his knowledge of things. The family member who writes these words is not a poet or a writer, only a nephew. But to me he was not only an uncle, he was my best friend and there is now a void in this family that will never be filled.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bowman, Jeremy Bowman, Scott Washington, Michael Washington, Chris Robinson and Jeffrey Scarborough.

She was born May 15, 1912, in Claremore, Okla., the daughter of Robert Turner Tanner and Mary Elizabeth Tanner. She grew up there with the knowledge and pride that her maternal grandmother was part of the Oklahoma Cherokee Nation. Her family and the Will Rogers family were close friends and, as a child, she attended picnics that were held by the two families. Her picture with her mother and aunt is featured in several books about Will Rogers' life. She attended Claremore public schools and then attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., for two years. Cottey College was then and is today a two-year college for women only.
She married Floyd Benson Cochran on April 4, 1937, and devoted the rest of her life to being a wonderful wife and loving mother to Stewart Benson Cochran and Pamela Joy Llewellyn. She was a quiet, reserved person who always liked to do her good deed behind the scenes, but doing good deeds for others was the story of her life. She was friendly and kind and everyone loved her. When she made friends with a person, which she did everywhere she lived, they were friends for life. She lived in Claremore, Okla.; Tucson, Ariz.; Lancaster, Santa Maria and Santee, Calif.; and Malakoff.
She kept in touch with friends in each of these places until most of them died and left her the oldest survivor. The words used most often to describe her were "so sweet."
She never said that she loved to cook, but her fried chicken and homemade pies were culinary delights. She was very intelligent, although she would always say that she wasn't. She could spell any word you asked her about and her math skills were so very good that she always managed the family finances. For years, she took care of the Sunday school collection money for the Santa Maria Presbyterian Church in Santa Maria Calif.
She was a lifelong Presbyterian, serving as elder, deacon and volunteer for many church activities. Her last church home was First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother and her husband of 47 years.
Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Marjorie Cochran of Malakoff; daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Pamela Llewlynn of Montrose, Colo.; sister, Pearl Edith Cohen; brothers-in-law, James Cochran of Pauls Valley, Okla., and Woodrow Cochran of Peoria, Ill.; grandsons and wives, Stephen and Nicole Llewellyn of Parker, Colo., Douglas and Aimee Cochran of Ramona, Calif., David and Caroline Llewellyn of Arlington and Shawn and Jennifer Llewellyn of Green Bay, Wis.; three great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
