Ruby Gray Harper
Services for Ruby Gray Harper, 100, of Mabank were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Glenn Blackmon officiating.
Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mrs. Harper died Dec. 13, 2002, in Kaufman.
She was born Oct. 9, 1902, in Mabank.
Mrs. Harper was a homemaker. She was a member of the Who So Ever Will Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Mabank and an active member of her community. She was a fifth generation Texan and lived in Mabank since she was a small child. She graduated from Mabank High School in 1921. She lived alone in Mabank since 1990 and drove herself to church until this past March.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ollie Burns Gray; husband, Loyce Lee Harper, in October 1985; sons, Jerry Lee Harper, in 1988, and one infant son.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and Bill Raiden of Plano; sister, Doris Pippin of Mabank; granddaughter and spouse, Rhonda and Roy Hunter of Plano; one great-grandchild; and other family members.

Juanita Lucille Harrison
Services for Juanita Lucille Harrison, 77, of Gun Barrel City are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Payne Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Herschell Baucom officiating.
Burial will follow at Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mrs. Harrison died Dec. 12, 2002, in Dallas.
She was born May 8, 1925, in Cairway, Ark.
Mrs. Harrison was a homemaker. She was involved with Care and Share and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Harrison of Gun Barrel City; sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney Alfred Harrison and Connie McLellan of Gun Barrel City and Larry Dennis and Susan Harrison of Gun Barrel City; daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna Leah Harrison Thatcher of Hot Springs, Calif., Betty Lou and Ed Spalinger of Oakridge, Ore., and Dennita Joyce Harrison and Gary Lynn Burrow of Forney; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Paul Girndt of Gentry, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Donald J. Parmly
Services for Donald J. Parmly, 60, of Brownsboro were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro with the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating.
Burial followed at River Hills Farm private family cemetery in Brownsboro under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Parmly died Dec. 14, 2002, in Dallas.
He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Corpus Christi to Ray and Jimmie Jordan Parmly.
Mr. Parmly was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro. He was also owner of River Hills Farm in Brownsboro. He was former owner of Dal-lite Sales Inc. in Dallas and Pro-Lite Sales Inc. in Shreveport, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Parmly of Brownsboro; sons and daughter-in-law, Greg and Krissa Parmly of Keller and Chad Parmly of Denton; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ronny Bohannon of Carrolton; stepmother, Myrtle Parmly of Tyler; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Chris and Christy Sanders of Stonewall, La., and Blaine Sanders; stepdaughters, Ginnie Sanders and Danielle Sanders, all of Brownsboro; brothers, Charles Parmly of Flint, Douglas Parmly of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ronny Lawrence, Larry Lawrence, Jody Lemmons, Dewain Hill, Jim Beasley, Don Graves, Luciano Grijalva and Eddie Young.
Memorials may be made to Rock Hill Baptist Church, New Building Fund, 10768 CR 2405, Brownsboro, TX 75756; or to Brownsboro High School, Future Farmers of America.

Fran Pirtle
Services for Fran Pirtle, 56, of Malakoff are scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday with Gary Marone officiating.
Burial will follow at Elderville Cemetery under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mrs. Pirtle died Dec. 12, 2002, in Longview.
She was born July 12, 1946, in Mitchell, S.D.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Pirtle of Malakoff; daughters, Ronda Jacobs of Longview and Crystal Mitchell of Hemphill; son, David Pirtle of Palestine; six grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.

Octavio Rodriguez
Services for Octavio Rodriguez, 54, of Athens were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Iglesia Unida Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Joel Palacios officiating.
Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Rodriguez died Dec. 9, 2002, in Athens.
He was born Jan. 9, 1948, in Arroyodelpicacho, Guerrero, Mexico to Ernesto Rodriguez and Leocadia Cornejo Flores.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Salazar of Athens; daughters, Melissa and Alejandrina Rodriguez of Athens; sisters, Escolastica Rodriguez, Silviana Rodriguez, Gloria Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Isabel Rodriguez, Eduvijes Rodriguez and Eusevia Rodriguez; brothers, Concepcion Rodriguez and Cirilo Rodriguez; and mother, Leocadia Cornejo Flores.

Carl L. Smith
Graveside services for Carl L. Smith, 65, of Murchison are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Smith died Dec. 14, 2002, in Athens.
He was born in Hayti, Mo., to John Frank and Kathleen Wallace Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judy Kay Mavity; and brothers, J.B. Smith and Robert P. Smith.
Mr. Smith was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his sons, Emmitt Smith and Kelly Smith, both of DeWitt, Ark.; brothers, Eugene Smith of Clarksville, Tenn., Ray Smith of Murchison, Max Smith of Gun Barrel City and Glenn Smith of Murchison; sisters, Mary North of Corning, Calif., Louise Baggs of Lebanon, Tenn., Sharon Evans of Galconda, Ill., and Janis Miller of Gun Barrel City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.

Larue Killingsworth
Services for Larue Killingsworth, 79, of Athens are pending with Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Killingsworth died Dec. 15, 2002, in Athens.

Herman Clyde Bailey
Herman Clyde Bailey, formerly of Paris, passed away in Allen on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at which time Bright Holland Funeral Services received him into their care.
Services have been scheduled for Monday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Bright Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Burt Palmer and Dr. Raymond Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Detroit Cemetery.
Herman Bailey was born Sept. 12, 1924, in the Post Oak Community, son of Benjamin Garvie and Eugie Elizabeth Tomlinson Bailey. He attended schools in Detroit and Paris, attending Paris Junior College. While there from 1946-1948, he earned six letters in three sports. He was inducted into the Paris Junior College Hall of Fame in 1998. He went on to Texas Tech University, where he received a scholarship in football and track. Upon graduation in 1950, he pursued a career as a football coach and athletic director. He also completed his master's degree at Texas A&M University in Commerce. During World War II, he served in the Naval Air Corp in the South Pacific, search and rescue. He spent 24 years in the Texas Public Schools, serving as head football coach and athletic director at Chapel Hill, Athens, Denison and was at Park Highland High School his last 19 years, from where he retired in 1984 and then moved to Paris. Some of his accomplishments during his coaching career were eight district titles, advancement to state playoffs and quarter finals. He had a winning rate of 73 percent during his coaching career. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Bob Drey of Chicago, Ill; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Janis Bailey of Lucas; four grandchildren, Whitney, Austin and Tyler Bailey and B.J. Forguson; brother, John Bailey; and sister, Anna Marie Ziegler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Jean Paul Ohadi.

James W. Boyd
James W. Boyd, longtime resident of Mesquite, Texas, quietly passed into the loving arms of Jesus at his home on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the age of 74. His loving family was surrounding him with love and comfort as their prayers ascended for his heavenly homecoming.
