W. A. "Bot" Greer
W. A. "Bot" Greer, 96, of Bowie, TX passed away on March 23, 2002 in Bowie.
Mr. Greer was born on March 21, 1906 in Bellevue, TX. He was a graduate of Bellevue High School and Draughans Business College of Lubbock, TX. He received a BA degree from Texas Tech University and a BS degree from North Texas University. He did his graduate work at Baylor University in Waco and University of Texas in Austin. He was in the education field for 34 years serving as a teacher, principal and superintendent of Bellevue and Alvord Schools. Mr. Greer was a WWII veteran and a Senior Training Officer for the Veterans Administration in Waco for 5 1/2 years. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of Retired Teachers of Texas. Mr. Greer was a member of the First Christian Church in Bowie where he served as Deacon, Elder and Elder emerites. He taught an Adult Sunday School Class for 34 years. He married Bobbie Inez Faulkner in Waurika, OK on August 1, 1932.
Funeral services for Mr. Greer were held on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clyde Markee officiating. Interment followed in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mrs. Bobbie Inez Greer, Bowie, TX. Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Adams Greer and his father, Sidney Burl Greer; three sisters, Ethel Shaw, Bernice Reich and Mary Fowles; and five brothers, Burl, Jay, Joe, Robert and Sidney Greer.
Pallbearers included: Ray Bess, Orvil Bess, Jr., Bennie Tidwell, Amos Belden, Leon Pierce, and David Rogers. Honorary pallbearers included: E. O. Martin, Denton Hobbs, and Owen Meyer.

David George Fatheree
David George Fatheree, 50, of Nocona, TX passed away on March 29, 2002 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Fatheree was born on October 19, 1951 in Dallas, TX to Roland and Bobbie Jeane Owens Fatheree. He married Kathy Walker on June 1, 1971 in Grand Prairie, TX. He was a truck driver and a member of the Florence Hill Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, TX. Mr. Fatheree was also a member of the National Rifle Association and served in the Army for a short time.
Funeral services for Mr. Fatheree were held on Monday, April 1, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Scott-Morris Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Simon officiating. Interment followed in Starkey Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Kathy Walker Fatheree, Nocona, TX; one daughter, Christie Cherie Lofton, Gainesville, TX; one sister, Joy Denbow, Grand Prairie, TX; three brothers, Danny Fatheree, Grand Prairie, TX, Dale Fatheree, Bowie, TX and Donnie Fatheree, Quitman, TX; one grandson, Michael Clickard, Marshall, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lester Leon Tettleton
Leon Tettleton, 73, of Bowie, TX passed away on March 28, 2002 in a Bowie Nursing Home.
Mr. Tettleton was born on October 11, 1928 in Texas to Obe and Eula Hudson Tettleton. He retired from the State of Texas as a Substance Abuse Counselor and was a member of the Alcoholics Anon Assn.
Graveside services for Mr. Tettleton were held on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. in Nocona Cemetery with Minister Dale Scott officiating. Services were directed by Jerry Woods Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Mark Tettleton, Bowie, TX and Tab Tettleton, Spring, TX; and seven grandchildren.

Pearl Louise Waldrip
Pearl Louise Waldrip, 87, of Nocona, TX passed away on March 27, 2002 in Horizon Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Waldrip was born on August 25, 1917 in Cooper, TX to Louis and Dora Box Forrester. She married Edison Waldrip on January 11, 1935 in Nocona, TX. She worked in the cafeteria at South Ward (Nocona Elementary) and worked as a babysitter for many Nocona kids. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nocona, TX since 1946.
Funeral services for Mrs. Waldrip were held on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Nocona with Rev. Bryan Parks officiating. Interment followed in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, David Waldrip, Nocona, TX and Eddie Waldrip, Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter, Janice Winters, Amarillo, TX; and one brother, Kenneth Forrester, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Waldrip on October 26, 2000.
Pallbearers included: Eddie Jo Waldrip, Michael Waldrip, Duane Robertson, Daniel Mirauda, Bobby Elderd, and Jerry Russell. Honorary pallbearers included: Sgt. Chris Waldrip, Randy Payne, Bryan Payne and Timothy Payne.

Kenneth "Ken" Louis Hardison
Kenneth "Ken" Louis Hardison, 63, of Montague, TX passed away on March 31, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Hardison was born on September 5, 1938 in Montague, TX to Dewey Bernard and Eva Matilda Fenoglio Hardison. He married Margaret Anne Moore on August 18, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a Sales Engineer for Schumberger Well Service and a member of Jean’s Men’s Bible Class.
Graveside services for Mr. Hardison were held on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in Montague Cemetery with Buddy Lee officiating. Services were directed by Scott Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Margaret Anne Hardison, Montague, TX; three children, Carla Morrow, Burkburnett, TX, Gail Hamel, Tampa, FL, and Kevin Joe Hardison, Irving, TX; two step-children, Machelle Kincaid, Bowie, TX and Julie Clark, Decatur, TX; one sister, Nell Ratliff, Waco, TX and seven grandchildren. Mr. Hardison was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Hardison of Montague, TX.

Elizabeth Marie (Walterscheid) Koesler
Elizabeth Marie (Walterscheid) Koesler, 77, of Muenster, TX passed away on March 31, 2002 in Muenster Memorial Hospital in Muenster.
Mrs. Koesler was born on January 20, 1925 in Muenster, TX to August and Anna Hesse Walterscheid. She married Norbett Koesler on May 2, 1945 in Sacred Heart Church. They owned and operated the Koesler Jewelry Store in Muenster from 1964-1981. She again worked in her daughter’s (Christi) jewelry store from 1994 until her failing health forced retirement.
Funeral services for Mrs. Koesler were held on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster with Rev. John Ohner, OSA officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Muenster, TX under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Mary Alice Bayer and Christi Klement, both of Muenster, TX, and Gretchen Kostyniak, Arlington, TX; three sons, Rudy, Karl and Fred Koesler, all of Muenster, TX; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Francesca Walterscheid, OLV, Fort Worth, TX; and two brothers, Wilfred Walterscheid, Muenster, TX and Leonard Walterscheid, Grand Junction, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert on November 13, 1993; her parents, August and Anna Walterscheid; and one son, Dennis Koesler.
Pallbearers included: Brian Kostyniak, Michael Kostyniak, Elliot Klement, Evan Koesler, Kyle Koesler and Chuck Koesler.

Howard Brock
Howard Brock, 87, of Buffalo Springs, TX passed away on March 27, 2002 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Brock was born on January 26, 1915 in Buffalo Springs, TX. He was an acoustical contractor, retired from Commercial Building. Mr. Brock was a member of the Bluegrove Lodge #965 A.F. and A.M., a member of Nocona Hills Country Club, where he was an avid golfer and a member of Joy Baptist Church in Joy, TX. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Funeral services for Mr. Brock were held on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Deerinwater and Brother Darrell Brown officiating. Interment followed in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Buffalo Springs, TX under the direction of Fry Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Miss Alana Sue Brock, Fort Worth, TX; one son, Allen Howard Brock, Bowie, TX; two grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Brock, College Station, TX and Hal Brock, Bowie, TX; and the mother of his children, Mrs. Evelyn Jones Brock, Wichita Falls, TX. He was preceded in death by two nephews, Tommy and Ricky McClung; one niece, Tanna McClung Brock; one sister, Edna McClung; and his parents, Allen and Esther Brock.
Pallbearers included: Mark Brown, John Denman, John Guice, Dick King, David Seigler, Hal Brock, and Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers included: Fowler Gilchrist, Norman Starnes, Finley Haigood, Granville Covington, John Beavers and Russ Downs.
