Minnie Naoma Sirmans Arnold
Minnie Naoma Sirmans Arnold, 83, of Forestburg, TX passed away on April 30, 2002.
Mrs. Arnold was born on July 14, 1918 in Montague County to B.D. and Liddie McMillion Chesser. She married Woodrow W. Sirmans on March 21, 1939 in Waurika, OK. Minnie was a homemaker, very family oriented and a faithful member of the Forestburg Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress for about 20 years in Gainesville and Muenster. W.W. died on July 2, 1978. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Perryman Cemetery Board. Mrs. Arnold met Gervis Arnold in the late 1980’s and were married on November 24, 1990 in the Forestburg Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2001.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold were held on Friday, May 3, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Forestburg Baptist Church in Forestburg, TX with Rev. Kris Barnett, C.E. Cole and Rev. Bob Ellis, PHd officiating. Interment was held in the Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, TX under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Mary Blocker, Senoia, GA and Sue Alexander, Plains, TX; one son, L. D. Sirmans, Forestburg, TX; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linnie Bell, Sunset, TX.
Pallbearers included: Ron Patton, Dale Hudspeth, James Wright, Bob Isbell, Bill Reynolds and Olin Merrett.

Leon Barker
Leon Barker, 68, of Bowie, TX passed away on May 4, 2002.
Mr. Barker was born on March 14, 1934 in Lee County, TX. He moved to Bowie in 1982 and owned Tri Angle Grocery and then worked for Bowie Milling Company until retirement. He married Clementene Dill on May 16, 1954 in Hollis, OK. He was a member of First Assembly of God where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
Funeral services for Mr. Barker were held on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ronnie Tucker and Rev. Larry Meador officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Clementene, Bowie, TX; two daughters, Karen Adams and Kathy Weaver, both of Bowie, TX; five grandchildren, Kelli, Jeffrey, and Derek Miner, Kassy Barker and Kristen Weaver, all of Bowie, TX; two brothers, Clarence Barker, Graham, TX and Glen Barker, Abilene, TX; one sister, Edith Lavon Foster, Bowie, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Dale Barker; and one son, Larry Leon Barker.
Pallbearers included: David Barker, Donald Barker, Keith Betts, Darryl Betts, John Estrella, and Bobby Foster. Honorary pallbearers included: Paul Fitts, Hobart Bullard, Gene Bullard, Tommy Brookshire, Bob Whatly and Jim Lindsey.

Leslie Wayne Wright
Leslie Wayne Wright, 57, of Nocona, TX passed away on May 4, 2002 in URHCS in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Wright was born on October 20, 1944 in Menard, TX to L. M. and Lillian May Bailey Wright.
Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel with Rev. Tommy Lamascus officiating. Interment will be held in Old Spanish Fort Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: his mother, Lillian May Wright, Nocona, TX; two sisters, Nellie Robinson, Nocona, TX and Wanella Walker, Dallas, TX; two brothers, George D. Wright, Dallas, TX and J. L. Wright, Sanger, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, L. M. Wright in 1955 and one brother, Zelbert Wright in Feb. 1974.

Nancy Ninette Conner
Nancy Ninette Conner, 33, of Bowie, TX passed away on May 1, 2002 at Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Conner was born on November 27, 1968 in Fort Worth, TX to Malcolm Ray and Nina Mae Clifton Howard. She was a cook and a member of the River of Life Church in Bowie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Conner were held on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Lake Baptist Church with Chris Dunn officiating. Interment was held in Newport Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her mother, Nina Mae Nottingham, Bowie, TX; three children, William Keith Conner, Ramsey Ray Conner and Callie Michelle Conner, all of Bowie, TX; her fiancee, Mike Hott, Denton, TX; two sisters, Vickie Hoyle and Betsy Sims, both of Bowie, TX; two brothers, Mark Howard, Bowie, TX and Jeff Howard, Mansfield, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm in November 1994.

Christi Nadine Adams
Christi Nadine Adams, 35, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on May 2, 2002 in URHCS in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mrs. Adams was born on November 23, 1966 in Throckmorton County, TX to Aubrey Thenex and Rosetta Cox Hall. She married Larry "Fuzzy" Adams on April 10, 1999 in Austin, TX. She was employed by Cingular Wireless and was a member of First United Methodist of Wichita Falls.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adams were held on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel with Rev. Allen officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Larry Adams, Bowie, TX; her mother, Rosetta Woods, AR; three children, Hannah, Sarah, and Brady McNatt, all of Wichita Falls, TX; three sisters, Sharon Pearce, Wichita Falls, TX, Sissy Scrogum and Gina Overcash, both of Throckmorton, TX; and two brothers, Kevin and Kyle Woods, both of Throckmorton, TX.
Pallbearers included: Weldon Whitfield, Josh Whitfield, Tommy Pearce, Kevin Woods, Kyle Woods, and Monty Scrogum.

Ronald Wayne York
Ronald "Ronnie" Wayne York, 46, of Dallas, TX passed away on April 26, 2002.
Mr. York was born on July 25, 1955 in Nocona, TX to Norman Wayne and Bettye Ann Wise York. He was a marketing supervisor for Senior American Planning Group, Inc. of Dallas, TX. He was a member of AA.
Memorial services for Mr. York were held on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Ronda York, Lewisville, TX; one sister, Cindy York, Denton, TX; one brother, Terry York, Flower Mound, TX; his father, Norman York, Wichita Falls, TX; and his grandmothers, Daphna Wise and Chessie York, both of Nocona, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Ann Wise York in January 2002.

Opal Lee Miller
Opal Lee Miller, 96, of Bowie, TX passed away on May 1, 2002.
Mrs. Miller was born on January 19, 1906 in Bellevue, TX. She was a homemaker and a very accomplished seamstress and did sewing for the public for many years. Mrs. Miller was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Bowie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller were held on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Chapel with Richard Long and Dr. Larry Cox officiating. Interment was held in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, TX.
Surviving relatives include: two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Wadsworth, Bowie, TX and Eldene Wadsworth, Bridgeport, TX; one brother-in-law, Winfred Loveall, Bowie, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Earl E. Miller, in 1992.
Pallbearers included: Jimmy Wadsworth, Joe Wadsworth, Aaron McDonald, Ricky McDonald, Larry Ingram and Jimmy Gaskins.
