Paul M. Endres
Paul M. Endres, age 87, of Muenster, TX passed away September 10, 2003 at his residence in Muenster, TX.
Mr. Endres was born February 24, 1916 in Muenster, TX to Adelide (Luke) and Werner H. Endres. He married Marie Walter on November 11, 1949 in Muenster, TX and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. He worked as a carpenter, farmed and did custom hay baling. He formed Endres Hay Company and gradually built a successful trucking business. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services for Mr. Endres were held Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ohner, O.S.A. officiating. Burial was under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Suriving relatives include: his wife, Marie Endres, Muenster, TX; four daughters, Karen Ann Endres, Fort Collins, CO, Patricia Endres-Fiske, Scottsdale, AZ, Mary Ellen Endres, Tyler, TX and Peg Endres-Abeln, Richardson, TX; three sons, Dr. Clifford Endres, Istandbul, Turkey, Dr. Richard Endres, Sodus, NY and John Endres, Era, TX; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Florene Kupper, Marlin, Tx and Della Rose Laviolette, Roscoe, IL; one one brother, Urban Endres, Muenster, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner H. and Adelide Endres; two brothers, Arthur and Gilbert Endres, and two sisters, Mary Fuhrmann and infant Leona Endres.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County, 1001 E. Broadway, Gainesville, TX, 76240.

Doris Davidson Broussard
Doris Davidson Broussard, age 75, of Port Neches, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003 at her residence in Port Neches.
Mrs. Broussard was a native of Beaumont, and had lived in Port Neches for more than fifty years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Broussard were held Wednesday, September 10, 2003 under the direction of Pat A. Riley Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: Vivian Rhodes Conner, North Richland Hills, TX, Regina Rhodes Myers, Bowie, TX and Cheryl Broussard Revia, High Island, TX. five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Clara Beasley
Clara Beasley, age 87, of Bowie, TX, passed away September 10, 2003 at her residence in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Beasley was born June 30, 1916 in Electra, TX. She was a seamstress and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Bowie, TX. She was a resident of Bowie for 60 years.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Hanely officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: five sons, James Beasley, Fort Worth, TX, Gordon Beasley, Bellevue, TX and Lawrence, Carl, and Eddie Beasley, all of Bowie, TX; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one sister, Safona Davis, Electra, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: Kyle Cunningham, Homer Wood, James Milner, Shane Green, Larry Beasley and Rodney Beasley. Honorary pallbearers included: James Beasley, Lawrence Beasley, Carl Dee Beasley, Gordon Beasley, and Eddy Beasley.

Dessie Vanbebber
Dessie Vanbebber, 95, of Bowie, TX passed away on September 11, 2003.
Mrs. Vanbebber was born on September 27, 1907. She married George W. Vanbebber on april 30, 1926 at Tage, Texas. She was a member of the Assembly of God faith.
Graveside services for Mrs. Vanbebber were held on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. L. C. Smith officiating at Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Louise Woolf, Bowie, TX and MarjoriejErvin, Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter-in-law, Jean Vanbebber, Bowie, TX; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola Tipton, Bowie, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Vanbebber was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bobby Lee Woolf in 1966 and James C. Vanbebber, Jr in 1979; one son, J.C. Vanbebber, Sr. in 1995; one son-in-law, John D. Ervin in 2000; and one sister, Odell Bridges.
Honorary pallbearers included: Bobby Lee Woolf, Gary Vanbebber, Trey Chambers and James Vanbebber.
Contributions may be made to the donors favorite charity.

Charles Wilson “Shorty” Thompson
Charles Wilson “Shorty” Thompson, 83, of Saginaw, TX passed away September 14, 2003 at Harris-Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
Mr. Thompson was born August 6, 1920 in Forestburg, TX to Betty Mae Loveday and John Thompson. He married Corene Moore on November 20, 1945 in Saint Jo, TX. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII. He owned C.W. Thompson Grocery and Market in Saint Jo for fourteen years. Shorty managed several grocery stores and owned a barbecue restaurant in Watuaga.
Graveside services for Mr. Thompson were held Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardy Cemetery in Montague County, Texas with C.E. Cole officiating. Burial was under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Gaylon Thompson, Forestburg, TX; eight grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corene Moore; one son, Douglas Thompson; one sister, Betty Jo Cook; and one brother, Wayne Thompson.

Bonnie Gilmore Roland
Bonnie Gilmore Roland, 83, of Bowie, TX passed away on September 12, 2003 in Bowie Nursing Center.
Mrs. Roland was born on July 27, 1920 in Bowie, TX. She married Sherrill Ebb Roland on October 14, 1955 at Hobbs, New Mexico. Mrs. Roland was a member of the First Christian Church in Bowie; a former member and past president of the Reddy-McClellan VFW Post #8789 Ladies Auxiliary; and a former member of the Bowie Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and formerly served on the Resident’s Council at Bowie Nursing Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roland were held on Sunday, September 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Markee officiating. Interment was held in Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX.
Surviving relatives include: four sisters-in-law, Marjorie Gilmore and Mildred Smith, both of Bowie, TX, Evelena Gilmore, Wichita Falls, TX and Frances Roland, Fort Worth, TX; five nephews; three nieces; and numerous great nieces and great nephews and her extended family at Bowie Nursing Center. Mrs. Roland was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Roland; her parents, Will and Nora Gilmore, four brothers, Joe, Sid, Dub and Sam Gilmore, two nieces, Nora Gilmore Breeden and Greta St. John and two nephews, Joe Walton Gilmore and Billy Gilmore.
Pallbearers included: Kevin Polk, George Phillips, Ronnie Gilmore, Steve Gilmore, Wilburn Gilmore, Shane Gilmore.

Ardathue “Lou” Anderson
Ardathue “Lou” Anderson, age 91, of Bowie, TX passed away September 22, 2003.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 13, 1912 in Branch, TX. She married Tommie S. Anderson on May 29, 1937 in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth before moving to Bowie, and was a member of the Lakeland Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were held Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bluebonnet Hills Chapel in Colleyville, TX with Rev. Dick Hennings officiating. Burial was under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, L.D. Holt, Fort Worth, TX, and Tommy Anderson, Watauga, TX; three daughters, Betty Gabbert, Fort Worth, TX, Beverly Bradley, Bowie,TX and Wanda Eastwood, Springtown, TX; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carmi C. Holt, and her second husband, Tommie S. Anderson in 1993.
Pallbearers included: Dan Gabbert, Rodney Gabbert, Randy Bradley, Brian Bradley, Harry Bradley, Jr., Bryron Eastwood, Chris Eastwood, Tim Holt, Steven Anderson and David Anderson.

Gaston Gilbert
Gaston Gilbert, age 83, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away September 25, 2003 in Denver Manor in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Gilbert was born October 4, 1919 in Athens, TX. He was in the roofing business. He served in U.S. Army during WWII.
Graveside services for Mr. Gilbert were held Sunday, September 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. Interment was under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Patricia Harper, and Sammie Lee Gilbert, both of Stoneburg, TX; one son, Steve Gilbert, Bellevue, TX; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Gilbert, one son, Gene Jackson; one granddaughter, Carol Lyn Baxter; one grandson, Rammie Lee Gilbert; and one son-in-law, Jim Harper.
