Essie Mae Barnett
Essie Mae Barnett, 87, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Monday, October 16, 2006 in Weatherford.
Essie Mae Cole Barnett was born February 9, 1919 in Graham, Texas, the daughter of Frank and Minnie Higgins Cole. She married Aaron Barnett July 20, 1935. Barnett was a giving person who took care of many people. She was a devoted Christian who lived her life by faith and the word of God. She was known as a great cook, avid gardener and artist.
Barnett was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Barnett in 1984, her parents, grandson, Darrell Lee Proffit; and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Bullock of Weatherford, Lois Ward of Fort Worth, Frances Clark of Graford; granddaughters, Donna Graves and husband, Milton of Weatherford, Patty Jackson and husband, Mark of Weatherford, June Jackson and husband, Charlie of Weatherford, Teri McGinnis and husband, Doug of Atlanta, Ga., Shelly Southall and husband, Brad of Granbury, Staci Henyon and husband, Bernie of Fort Worth, Tammy Cargill and husband, Terry of Weatherford, Susan Nowak and husband, Eddie of Graford; grandson, James M. of Dallas; 21 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006 at North Main Church of God in Weatherford. Burial was set to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Weatherford. The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.

Linda Ortiz Weiss
Linda Ortiz Weiss, 58, of Malta, NY, died Friday, October 13, 2006 at her daughter’s residence in Azle, Texas after a five year battle with breast cancer.
She was born October 21, 1947 in Ranger, Texas. She moved to Millsap, Texas in 1958 and graduated from Millsap High School in 1965. She married her husband, Rick, on December 2, 1967. She then traveled extensively throughout the United States, Asia and Europe during their life together.
Weiss was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In addition to her service as a military wife, she volunteered her time with The Red Cross in the Phillipines, Meals on Wheels in Humble, St. Philip's Catholic Church in Huffman and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ballston Spa, NY.
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Douglas Weiss and her father, Martin Ortiz.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Rick Weiss of Malta, NY; daughter, Donna Cashion and husband, Philip of Azle; granddaughters Brittany Lynn Cashion, Melissa Diane Cashion and Abigail Grace Cashion; mother, Erlinda Ortiz of Millsap; brothers, Joe Ortiz and wife, Becky of Midland, Tony Ortiz and wife, Heidi of Millsap; Bernardo Ortiz and wife, Kathy of Millsap, Johnny Ortiz and wife Angie of Houston, Al Ortiz and wife, Tammy of Porter; sisters, Nicki Presser and husband Joe, Dorothy Hall and husband, Gary of Cool; and numerous other family member and friends.
A mass was scheduled at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Weatherford on Monday, October 16 at 10 a.m. Father John Casey will be the celebrant with Father Jeff Poirot as concelebrant. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Weiss asked that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or The American Cancer Society.

Taylor Lynier Miller
Taylor Lynier Miller, 38, an employee of Delta Air Lines, died Monday, October 9, 2006, in Alpharetta, Ga.
Miller was born July 17, 1968. He had a love for the game of golf. Miller graduated with a B.A. from Southwest Texas State University Mass of Christian.
Survivors include parents, Dana and Stacey Miller of Azle; grandparents, Herb and Kathleen Watts of Fort Worth, Miriam Miller of Azle; brothers, Preston Miller and wife, Kristin of Houston, Ryan Miller of Galesburg, Ill.; sister, Cameron Salas and husband, Jacob of San Antonio; niece and nephew, Addie and Maxwell Miller of Houston.
Burial was scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment: Independence Chapel in Greenwood Mausoleum.Taylor Lynier

Kelly Kattelman
Kelly "Bug" Kattelman, 13, a student of Smithfield Middle School, died Sunday, February 25, 2007.
Kelly was free spirited and loved being with people, loved music, singing and dancing. She was involved with her church youth group, High on Life, at Smithfield Middle School and any activity that allowed her to be with her friends.
Survivors include her parents, Todd and Karen Kattelman; sister, Megan; grandparents, Ron and Nancy Kattelman, Beverly and Jay Franklin; aunts, uncles and cousins of the Harrelson, Kattelman, Powell, Suttle and Williamson families and a very large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bryan Kattelman.
The funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Bear Valley Community Church, 7900 Precinct Line Rd. in Colleyville. Burial is set for Lonesome Dove Cemetery in Southlake. The family is scheduled to receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd. in Hurst.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Washington Mutual Bank, account number 3131038825, and account name, Abdo for benefit of Kelly Kattelman or at Bear Valley Community Church in memory of Kelly Kattelman at 817-485-9910.

Sean Moore
Sean Michael Moore died on Sunday, February 25, 2007.
Moore was born February 13, 1990, and was the answer to the prayers of parents, Mike and Cathy Moore, when the miracle of his birth occurred. They said no child was more wanted than this wonderful bundle of joy. The family said although his life was cut short, there was, without measure, a legacy he left behind. Moore had an unwavering faith in God. He loved without condition. He was sensitive to the needs of others, always giving the most of himself and going the extra mile. Moore was happy, fun-loving and upbeat. He always had the biggest smile and a hug for everyone. He had a devoted family and a countless number of friends who gathered around him in the final hours of his life. Sean left indelible memories of his tall and handsome physique, his captivating smile and his loving caring ways. Moore was a junior at Aledo High School, where he was a member of the band.

Billy E. Phillips
Billy E. Phillips, 73, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in Baytown.
Billy E. Phillips was born October 5, 1933 in Brock, the son of the late Samuel and Lois Erwin Phillips. A lifelong resident of Parker County, he graduated from Brock High School in 1951 and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Upon discharge, Phillips made his career as a maintenance mechanic with Rhone-Poulenc (Stauffer) Chemical Company.

Robert Alexander
Retired Lt. Col. Robert "Alex" Lee Alexander, 90, of Weatherford, died Friday, February 23, 2007 in a Weatherford hospital.
Alexander was born December 17, 1916 in Cleveland, Ga. He was a construction job estimator, a member of First Baptist Church in Weatherford and a member of the V.F.W. # 4647. On November 14, 1936, Robert joined the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in 1939, with the rank of corporal. He returned to Ashville, where he worked at a coal and ice plant. In June 1940, France fell to Germany and he rejoined the Army and left by ship from Charleston, S.C., to Hawaii by way of the Panama Canal and San Francisco. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. He was having breakfast when the attack started; he was a platoon sergeant in charge of four gun crews. He served in the US Army for 27 1/2 years. Robert served as Company Commander of the 90th Division, a reserve unit in Fort Worth. He retained his rank of Captain and shortly was promoted to Major. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Rumfield and husband, Ray, of Weatherford; grandson, Ray Rumfield, Jr. of Dallas and special companion, Lillian Gunn of Granbury.
