Mary Perez
1957-2004
MIDLAND -- Mary Lou Perez, the mother of Mary Alice Hernandez of Snyder, died Monday, Feb. 2, in a Midland hospital.
Rosary for Mrs. Perez, 46, is set for 7:30 this evening in the Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass is set for 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Midland.
Born March 7, 1957 in Lamesa, she married Adam Perez in 2002. He survives.
Survivors also include three other daughters, Jessica Alday of Austin, Lila Stanley of Fort Hood and Victoria Aguilar of Midland; her parents, Victor and Alicia Aguilar of Midland; a sister, Victoria Aguilar of Midland; and 10 grandchildren.

Opal Archer
1920-2004
CISCO -- Opal Lorilla Archer, grandmother of Michael Pauchet of Snyder, died early today in Cisco.
Graveside service for Mrs. Archer, 83, is set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Cisco Cemetery under the direction of Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Born on Oct. 23, 1920, she married Boyce Archer who died in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Koch of Abilene; another grandson, Tommy McGowen of Abilene; a granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca Pauchet of Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Michael Colin, Christopher Dylan and Nicholas Ethan Pauchet, all of Snyder, and Joseph McGowen of Abilene; and a step great-granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Castanada of Louisiana.

Mr. DeLaCruz
1926-2004
Serapio DeLaCruz of Snyder died Saturday, Jan. 31, in Snyder.
Service for Mr. DeLaCruz, 77, was set for 3 p.m. today in the Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Isabel Garcia, minister of the Church On The Rock, will officiate. Burial was to follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Born on March 14, 1926 in Villa Union, Mexico, he was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Sr. and Isabel DeLaCruz; two brothers, Jose Isabel DeLaCruz and Miguel DeLaCruz.
Survivors include two daughters, Cirila Molina and Guadalupe Munoz, both of San Angelo; three sons, Juan I DeLaCruz III and Artemio DeLaCruz, both of San Angelo, and Mike DeLaCruz of Elgin; two brothers, Juan DeLaCruz Jr. of Madera, Calif., and Felix DeLaCruz of Hobb, N.M.; two sisters, Rosa Elva Vasquez and Esperanza Aguilar, both of Mexico; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McMullan
1931-2004
Jo Alyce McMullan, longtime Snyder educator, died this morning in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Service for Mrs. McMullan, 73, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Buddy Payne, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 5, 1931 in Coleman, she married Billy Bob McMullan on Aug. 25, 1950 in Snyder.
Mrs. McMullan retired after teaching 30 years in elementary grades in Snyder and Ira. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Scurry County Historical Commission and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Mrs. McMullan was a graduate of Snyder High School and Texas Tech University.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly McMullan on Dec. 15, 2003; and a brother, Thomas Clarence Goss.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Bob McMullan of Snyder; three daughters, La Trix Gladson and husband Ronal of Plano, Janis Key and husband Wesley of Snyder and Jessica Burton and husband Kelly of Granbury; a sister, Shirley Browning of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Pam Alarcon, Tommy Lane, Reagan Key and Robin Key, all of Snyder, Jana Lane of Amarillo, Reis Gladson and Brooke Gladson, both of Dallas, and Aaron Burton of College Station; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Louise Stevens
1932-2004
Lela Louise Stevens, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 1, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mrs. Stevens is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dave Phillips, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Snyder Cemetery.
Born July 21, 1932 in Belton, she married Harvey Stevens on Feb. 14, 1976 in Snyder.
A longtime resident of Snyder, Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie McCauley; and two brothers, Leslie and James Gill.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Stevens of Snyder; a daughter, Lela Stevens of Snyder; a sister and brother-in-law, Cherry and Clint Hembree of Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 this evening at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. DeLaCruz
1926-2004

Bo Burk
1915-2004
KRESS -- B.O. “Bo” Burk, the brother of Roy Burk of Snyder, died Friday, Jan. 30, at his home in Kress.
Funeral service for Mr. Burk, 88, was set for 2 p.m. today in the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Plainview with the Rev. Paul Cypert officiating. Burial was to follow in the Kress Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
Born April 5, 1915 in Hollis, Okla., he married Katherine Riemer on Nov. 26, 1937 in Clarendon.
They moved to Kress in 1944 and farmed for 10 years before serving as postmaster for 10 years, a rural route carrier for 10 years and a postmaster trainer for several years.
A former mayor of Kress, Mr. Burk also served on the Kress school board and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors also include his wife, Katherine Burk of the home; three daughters, Sherry Phillips of Kress, Dee Ann McGuire of Plainview and Carol Blount of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sons, Bradley Burk of Dallas and Kelly Burk of Kress; two sisters, Burnice McNabb of Lubbock and Ruth Erickensen of Weatherford; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pearl Leslie
1920-2004
ODESSA -- Esther “Pearl” Leslie, 83, died Friday, Jan. 30, at Hospice House in Odessa after suffering with Parkinson’s for more than 30 years.
Funeral service for Mrs. Leslie was set for 9 a.m. today in the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating. Interment was to follow in the Snyder Cemetery.
Born May 13, 1920 near Four Corners, N.M., she was married to Woodrow Leslie who died in 1987. Mrs. Leslie was a homemaker and also worked as a realtor. She lived in El Paso for 30 years and was recognized as a top sales person in real estate. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and had been a resident of Avalon Nursing Center for the past eight years.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Leslie of Odessa and Bill Leslie of Dallas; a daughter, Wanda Harman of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
The family suggests memorials to the Hospice House in Odessa, 903 N. Houston, 79761.

Frances Harty
1924-2004
ALBANY -- Funeral service for Frances Ann Cauble Harty 79, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. John Tunnel and Kay Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Mrs. Harty died Sunday, Feb. 1, at Care Inn Nursing Home in Abilene.
Born June 3, 1924 in Albany she was a lifelong Texan and moved back to Albany from Snyder in 1981.
Mrs. Harty was a homemaker and beautician and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Albany.
She married Herman Harty in 1946 and he died in 1995.
Survivors include one son, John Harty and wife Janice of Midland; two daughters, Carolyn Howard of Huntsville and Sherry Baker of Albany; one nephew, Ross Cauble of Albany; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ruth Eades
1919-2004
Anna Ruth Eades, lifetime Snyder resident, died Thursday, Jan. 29, in Doctors Hospital in Dallas after a lengthy illness.
Graveside service for Mrs. Eades, 84, is set for 4 p.m. Sunday in the Snyder Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born May 18, 1919 in Snyder, she married Joe W. Eades on Jan. 24, 1943 in Colorado City. He died April 12, 1976.
Mrs. Eades was a food service supervisor for the Snyder ISD for many years and was a lifelong member of Snyder’s First Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Keller; and a daughter, JoAnne Ritchie.
Survivors include a sister, Marian Mangum of Plano; a granddaughter, Jane Kirby of Dallas; a grandson and his wife, Michael and Becky Kirby of Commerce; six great-grandchildren, Michael Kirby Jr., Kyle Kirby, Bradyn Kirby, Zina Brewer, Anfisa Brewer and Eliana Brewer, all of Commerce; and several nieces and nephews.
