Mary Francis Pearson

Funeral services for Mary Francis Pearson, 77, were held Friday at 10 a.m. in Snyder.
Burial followed at 4 p.m. in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder.
She died Wednesday, February 11, 2004, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Snyder in 1926, she married James Elvis Pearson. He died in1980. One son, James Timothy Pearson, and three brothers also preceded her in death. She had lived in Snyder for many years, moving there from Andrews, where she had lived for a number of years.
Survivors include one son, Mark Pearson of Houston; one sister; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Agapito Emiliano

Agapito Emiliano, 91, of Andrews passed away Thursday, February 11, 2004 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews.
The funeral service will be Sunday, February 15, 2004, at Filadelfia Assembly of God Church with Rev. Samuel Emiliano and Rev. Pedro Emiliano will officiating.
Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Emiliano was born September 14, 1912 in Coahuila, Mexico. He married Guadalupe Infante August 24, 1935 in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1982 from Brownfield. He was an active member of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church.
In his earlier years he was involved in local politics in Mexico.
He is survived by his wife Guadalupe Emiliano of Andrews; four sons, Samuel Emiliano of Andrews, Jacob Emiliano of Andrews, Pedro Emiliano of Odessa, and Elias Emiliano of Andrews; four daughters, Anita Trevino, Petra Contreras, Teresa Alavez and Noemi Sanchez, all of Andrews; one brother, Genard Emiliano, of Edinberg, Texas; two sisters, Lioba DeLa Cruz of Andrews and Nieves Salinas of Loredo; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.

Services are pending for Coy Beatrice Watson, 90, of Andrews at McNett Funeral Home.
She died Friday, February 6, 2004 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

Harry Hopkins

Memorial services for Harry Hopkins, 62, of Andrews, were at 1 p.m. Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Doyle, pastor of Means Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements were by McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Mr. Hopkins died early Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Midland.
He was born April 23, 1941, in Fort Smith, Ark. He lived in Andrews several times and last moved back in 1982 from Alice and has been a resident ever since. He worked for West Texas Gas in Andrews for several years.
He is survived by two sons, Harry Hopkins of Midland and Johnny Hopkins of Big Spring; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Tommie Bowman

Graveside services for Tommie Bowman, 89, of Andrews were at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill with Wylie McMahon of Gladewater officiating.
She died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
She was born Jan. 12, 1915, in Calf Creek. She married Tuck Wylie Bowman on Jan. 30, 1936, in Beeville. They had lived in Menard for 37 years. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. She moved to Trinity Towers in Midland in 1998, and then to Andrews in 2003. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star, Sumerland Chapter, in Menard. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Menard.
Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her parents, Walter William Kolb and Effie Anna McMicken Kolb; eight sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Douglas of Burnet and Jan Castleman of Andrews; one sister, Pauline Duncan of Pasco, Wash.; two brothers, Elvin Kolb and J.B. Kolb, both of Three Rivers; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Jennie Lou Pittman

Graveside services for Jennie Lou Pittman, 78, of Andrews, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Jeff Donnell, pastor of First Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pittman died April 27, 2004, in Andrews. She was born on Aug. 21, 1925, in Abilene. She married H.P. Pittman on May 10, 1943, in Midland. She and her husband owned and operated the Park-In-Wash Laundry and the Skating Rink for several years.
She also worked for Kirby in Andrews for 10 years before retirement. H.P. preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1993.
Survivors include her son, Larry Pittman of Andrews; her daughter, Beverly Hamilton of Midland; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Terry Williams

Services for Terry Allen Williams, 51, of Andrews, were at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Bill Pollard of Andrews. Cremation followed services under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in Andrews. He was born on April 1, 1953, in Newark, Ohio. He was an instrumentation tech for Exxon-Mobil until retirement in 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Jacksonville; daughters Lindsay Williams and Chelsea Williams, both of Jacksonville; his brother, Thomas Anthony of Magnolia; his sisters, Karen Barber of Gladewater and Kathy Ann Rafferty of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Williams and Mary Hicks.

Jo Ann Brown Shields

Graveside services for Jo Ann Brown Shields, 72, of Andrews, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in the Abernathy Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor of the Abernathy First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Mrs. Shields died Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Andrews.
She was born July 13, 1931, in Abernathy. She was a graduate of Abernathy High School and was a 1952 graduate of Texas Tech University. She married Kenneth Dale Shields, and he preceded her in death in 1982.
She taught school in Andrews for 43 years, retiring in 1992.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ormand Kenneth Brown, Joe Tom Brown and James Brown.
She is survived by a sister, Mildred Becker of Lubbock. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Mona G. Tinsley of Andrews.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

Estelle C. Beard

Funeral services for Estelle C. Beard, 81, of Andrews, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beard passed away Friday, May 7, 2004, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Horatio, Ark. She moved to Andrews in 1942 from Quinland. She worked in the cafeteria at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews for 10 years.
She loved to dance. She also liked to raise flowers and work with crafts and she was very active in the Andrews Senior Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Andrews.
Her husband, Jody Carruth, preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
She married M.H. Beard July 24, 1993, in Andrews.
She is survived by her husband of Andrews; two sons, Ronnie Dean of Odessa and Dickie Carruth of Andrews; one daughter, Ellen Ruth Zant of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

R.C. Seal

Funeral services for R.C. Seal, 77, of Andrews were at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews with the Rev. Doyle Combs of Lometa and the Rev. Bill Melton of Andrews officiating. Burial followed in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Semper Care Hospital of Midland.
Mr. Seal was born July 6, 1926, in Concho County. He married Elyon Curbo on May 24, 1947, in San Angelo. They moved to Andrews in 1948 from Hobbs, N.M. He had worked as a field technician for 36 years at Texaco. He had been active in Little League baseball, Pony League, Little Dribblers and was a member of the Andrews Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie Seal and Nola Hollaway Seal; his brother, W.C. Seal; and his sister, Maudie Jones.
He is survived by his wife of Andrews; two sons, Byron Seal of Big Spring and Mickey Seal of The Woodlands; one daughter, LaJuan Hallum of San Marcos; five brothers, Aubrey Seal of Picton, R.A. Seal of Robert Lee, Harold Seal of Lafayette, La., Bobby Seal of Hobbs, N.M., and Elbert Seal of Arlington; one sister, Doris Scott of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Andrews Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 327, Andrews, Texas 79714.
