Mrs. Berry
Funeral services for Anna Berry, 94, of Lampasas, June 19, 2001, Dodson Funeral Home. Officiant: Dr. Adrian Coleman. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry died June 17 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
She was born and reared in Burnet County and attended Bethel School before moving to Lake Victor where she graduated from school in 1924.
She married George Wesley Berry on July 12, 1924, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the Lampasas Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 295 and a former member of the First Texas Bank Heritage Club.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Anna Lois and Willis R. Landers, of Lampasas; a son and daughter-in-law, G.W. and Naomi Berry Jr., of Lampasas; one sister, Carrie Copley, of Burnet; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, and by five brothers and three sisters.
Memorials to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Syfrett
Funeral services for Wanda Davis Syfrett, 65, of Lampasas, June 19, 2001, Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Officiant: Minister Reid Schaub. Burial, North Brown Cemetery, Mills County, near Goldthwaite.
Mrs. Syfrett died June 16 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
She was born Dec. 10, 1935, in Mills County, the daughter of Bernard Crouch "Jack" Davis and Gladys Long Hall.
She was married to Andrew Jasper Syfrett.
Mrs. Syfrett was a homemaker and a Baptist. She had lived in Lampasas since February 2001, coming from Norway, S.C.
Survivors include sons, Timothy Syfrett, of Red Oak, Daniel Syfrett, of Conroe, Terry Clendenen, of San Antonio, and Timothy Clendenen, of Goldthwaite; daughters, Rebecca Brown, of Morgan City, La., and Nancy Strickland, of Red Oak; her mother of Lampasas; one brother, John Davis, and wife, Lois, of Mesquite; and two brothers-in-law, the Rev. Harold W. Syfrett, of Charleston, S.C., and Wilbur C. Syfrett, of Cordova, S.C.
Other survivors include sisters, Vera Warren, and husband, Joe, of Oglesby, and Dianna Buchanan, of La Vernia; one sister-in-law, Louise Stroble, of Ridgeville, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 10, 2000; a stepson, Steve Syfrett; and her stepfather, Johnnie "Cobb" Hall.
Memorials to American Heart Association.

Mr. Covington
Jack Harland Covington, 88, of Lampasas died March 26, 2004, at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services were March 28 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Adrian Coleman officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mr. Covington was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Lometa, the son of John L and Emma Hall Covington. He had lived in Lampasas for more than 60 years.
He married Etha Mae "Katy" Carlile on Nov. 24, 1940, by Ira Grantham in Lampasas.
Mr. Covington worked and retired from Fort Hood as a material segregator in Civil Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lampasas.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; two sons, Bobbie Joe Covington, of Pueblo, Colo., and Jackie L. Covington, of Victoria; grandchildren, Chad Covington, of Brenham, Craig Covington, of Victoria, Diane Covington, of Kansas, David Covington, of San Antonio, and Britney Covington and Carri Covington, both of Austin; and one great-grandchild, Chance Lee Covington, of Victoria.
He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
The family requested memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lampasas.

Mrs. Flores
Karolina Flores, 60, of Lometa died March 25, 2004, at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
Funeral services were March 27 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas with Fermin Rodriguez officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Flores was born March 22, 1944, in Lampasas, to Albert and Paula Garza.
She married Jesus "Jesse" Flores on Jan. 25, 1960. She had lived in Lometa since 1981, moving there from Florida. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband of San Saba; two sons, Jesse Flores, and wife, Maria, and Ricky Flores, and wife, Norma, all of Immokalee, Fla.; five daughters, San Juanita Trejo, and husband, Alfredo, and Rita Yanez, and husband, Louis, all of Lometa, Olivia Flores, of Conroe, Ruby Mascorro, and husband, Jose, of Alabama, and Ramona Cavazos, and husband, Robert, of Parish, Fla.; three brothers, Zaragosa Garza Sr., of Lampasas, Albert Garza Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Frank Garza, of Austin; one sister, Erlinda Torres, of Wharton; 36 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Ann Flores, in 1989; one infant son, Albert Flores, in 1963; and a brother, Louis Garza, in 2000.
Pallbearers were King Torres, Danny Torres, Jesse Flores, Ricky Flores, Guadalupe Cavazos and Ricky Flores Jr.
The family requested memorials be made to the Lupus Foundation.

Mr. Hargreaves
John H. Hargreaves, 84, of Pelham, N.H., died March 20, 2004, at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, Mass.
Funeral services were March 24 at First Congregational Church in Pelham.
Mr. Hargreaves was born in Methuen, Mass., where he graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in 1937. He attended Lowell Technological Institute, now University of Massachusetts Lowell, and the University of Maryland.
Mr. Hargreaves entered the Massachusetts National Guard in 1939, and went active duty in the Army in 1941. He was stationed in Iran in 1962 as a field artillery advisor to the Third Corps of the Iranian Imperial Army. He retired as a major in the Army in 1971, after serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal.
Mr. Hargreaves was a past commander and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pelham Memorial Post 10722. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 in Pelham, the Granite State Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars, the Granite State Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army and the Greater Lowell Chapter of the Korean War Associations.
A member of the Pelham Senior Citizens, he also was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the John Hancock Lodge in Methuen, the Lodge of Perfection and Zion Council Princes of Jerusalem in Lawrence, Mass., and the Mount Calvary Rose Croix in Lowell.
He is survived by his wife, Annamarie B. "Anne" Saupe Hargreaves; daughters, Jean A. Harrison, and husband, Alton, of Brownfield, Donna L. Rodgers, and husband, Richard, of Temple, Okla., Cheryl K. Dugger, and husband, David, of Lampasas, and Diane H. Talbot, and husband, Richard, of Manchester; one son, Robert D. Hargreaves, and wife, Julia, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Beth Howarth, of Norwich, Conn.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
The family requested memorials be made to the Army Emergency Relief Fund, 200 Stovall St., Alexandria, Va 22332 or the Sherburne Hall Fund, in care of Selectmen's Office, 6 Village Green, Pelham, N.H.

Mr. Kendrick
Hollis Kendrick, 93, of Leach, Okla., died March 19, 2004, in Locust Grove, Okla.
Funeral services were March 20 at Key Funeral Home in Leach with Utah Humphries officiating. Burial was at Shady Rest Cemetery in Leach in Delaware County.
Mr. Kendrick was born May 17, 1910, in Mills County, to Van M. and Martha Alma Kennedy Kendrick.
He was reared and attended school in Texas.
Mr. Kendrick married Neva E. Foster on Dec. 23, 1931, at San Angelo. They moved to the Leach Community where he was a farmer and rancher.
After his wife's death in 1988, Mr. Kendrick married Ilene Reed in March 1989, in Leach. She preceded him in death in 1994.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leach where he served as a deacon for many years. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge #252 of Kansas. Okla.
He is survived by three sons and their wives, Tommy V. and Hanna Kendrick, of Lometa, and Foster G. and Eileen Kendrick and Max B. and Donna Kendrick, all of Leach; one daughter and her husband, Betty J. and Louis Vidrine, of Many, La.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Dixon V. and Leah Kendrick, of Pearl City, Hawaii; and two sisters, Van Pritchard, and husband, Doyle, of El Centro, Calif., and Joan Moore, of Abilene.
Mr. Kendrick also was preceded in death by a sister, LaTayne Nease, in September 2003.

Mrs. Burk-King
Funeral services for Mamie Burk-King of Georgetown, formerly of Lampasas, were March 27, 2004, in Burnet.
Mrs. Burk-King died March 25.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Dwayne and Betty Brown, of Taylor; three sisters, Lois Burk-Rogers, of Lampasas, Johnnie Burk Smith, of Arlington, and Alberta Burk Owens, of Austin; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Reavis
Lois Marie Reavis, 73, of Lampasas died March 24, 2004, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
Funeral services were March 27 at Dodson-Sneed Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T. Irving King of Oakalla Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Tobey Cemetery near Oakalla.
Mrs. Reavis was born July 16, 1930, in Burnet County, to Conard and Kate Gotcher Wooten.
She was married to Buford "Boots" Reavis.
Mrs. Reavis was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Reavis, of Oakalla, and Ricky Reavis, of Lampasas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by a brother, Gary Reavis in 1999; and by one brother, Conway Wooten.
The family requested memorials be made to the Tobey Cemetery Association.
