Tucker
Funeral services for A. A. "Double A" Tucker Jr., 87 of Houston were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Houston. Interment followed in Woodlawn Garden Of Memories Cemetery. Revs. David Schultz, John Selle and Edwin Keiper officiated.
Mr. Tucker passed away Monday, Oct. 2 in a Houston hospital after a short illness.
He was born April 16, 1913 in Thorndale to the late Arnold A. Tucker and Sarah Elizabeth (Cardwell) Tucker. His mother passed away five days after his birth.
Mr. Tucker was raised by his grandparents, Richard Benjamin Cardwell and Barbara Ann (Pugh) Cardwell and an uncle, Richard McKinzie (Mack) Cardwell and Lula Lee (Tucker) Cardwell, all of whom preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Tommie Arnold Tucker and three sisters, Arrie Iona Tucker, Alice Bamma Jackson and Hattie Ann Caffey.
He married Hermenia (Hattie) Barta on April 29, 1939 in Flatonia.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Hermenia (Hattie) Tucker; two sons, Arvin Dennis Tucker and wife Cathey of Georgetown and Daniel Ray Tucker of Shelby; three grandchildren, Keith Tucker and wife Kellie of Hempstead, Michelle Tucker of Hockley and fiancée, Tommy Hamilton of Planterville and Casey Tucker of Georgetown; two great grandchildren, Kyle and Kolt Tucker of Hempstead; and close relatives, Dr. Wallace H. Cardwell and wife Ardith of Elgin, Lyngle (Bill) Cardwell and wife Veronica of Rockdale and Shirley Luetge and husband Clyde of Rockdale.
Pallbearers were James Luetge, Leroy Cardwell, Lyngle Cardwell, Bradley Cardwell, Richard Barta, Randy Barta, Ronnie Wayne Merecka and Donnie White.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church building fund, 1515 Hillendahl, Houston, TX 77055.

Cheatham
Funeral services for Edgar Louis (E.L.) Cheatham Jr., 76, of Cameron were held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. James E. Lafferty officiating. Burial followed in Cook Walden/Capital Park Cemetery in Pflugerville. He died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 in a Temple hospital.
Mr. Cheatham was born July 8, 1924 in Madison County to Edgar Louis and Merttie Mae Lindley Cheatham. He married Nell Sorenson June 17, 1961. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a millwright from Alcoa in Rockdale. Mr. Cheatham was a member of the Battetown Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacons.
Mr. Cheatham was a member of the Cameron Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2010, American Legion Edwin Hardy Post #9 and the Cameron Evening Lions Club. He had served with the Civil Conservation Corporation. He volunteered delivery of meals to the elderly for Hill Country Services. Mr. Cheatham was preceded in death by son Jack Allen Konopackie; granddaughter Lisa Lovell and nephew Wayne Ercanbrack.
Surviving are: Wife, Nell Cheatham, Cameron; son, Rev. Tim Cheatham, Cameron; daughter, Sherry Nell Lovell, Freeport; brother, Julius Cheatham, Bastrop; sister, Mary Etta Ercanbrack, Lake Jackson and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Battetown Baptist Church, 401 E. 22nd, Cameron, TX 76520.

Zelisko
Funeral services for Jerry Lee Zelisko, 48, of Buckholts were held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Gary Kleypas officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery near Buckholts. He died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 in Buckholts.
Mr. Zelisko, a carpenter and construction worker, was born May 21, 1952 in Cameron to Richmond Frank and Betty Lou Kennon Zelisko. He was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Zelisko.
Surviving are: Wife, Jeanie Zelisko, Buckholts; son, Clay Zelisko, Dallas; daughter, Anna Zelisko, Buckholts; mother, Betty Zelisko, Temple; brother, John Zelisko, Buckholts.

Stone
ROBINSON, IL – Funeral services for Nancy Ellen Stone, 84, of Centerbury Ridge, Urbana, IL were held Monday, March 26, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Bro. Gene Fox officiating. Burial followed in Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, IL She died shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 22 at the Cantebury Ridge Assisted Living Facility, Urbana, IL following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Stone was born March 26, 1916 to Robert Nathan and Henrietta (Daron) Sanders in Martin Township, Crawford County, IL. She and Murven "MC" C. Stone were married Oct. 31, 1934. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, IL and sold Avon Products for 20 years.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Elmer Sanders and Robert Sanders; one sister, Arta Lefever..
Surviving are: Son, Robert D. and Susan Stone, Graves, TX; two daughters, Gloria and Weldon "Pete" Belew, Rockdale, TX and Debra and Jody Wesley, Mahomet, IL; sister, Thelma Leggitt, Oblong, IL; 10 grandchildren, Lance Belew, David Belew, Kae Atkinson, Shannon Isaac, Joelle Wesley, Justin Wesley, David Stone, Michael Stone, Joe Robbins, Rachael Robbins; two great-grandchildren, Steve Belew and Emily Atkinson; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Children’s Make A Wish Foundation.

Williams
CAMERON – Funeral services for Ronald Patrick Williams, 41, of Lockhart, TX, formerly of Leavenworth, KS, were held Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Fall Creek Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS with Chaplain Jack Divine officiating. He died Sunday, March 18 in Lockhart, TX following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born Oct. 25, 1959 to Howard Rex Williams and Patricia Dougherty Williams in Leavenworth, KS. He was a truck driver.
Surviving are: Son, Douglas Williams of Sharon, WI; daughter, Darci Williams of Sharon, WI; father, Rex. Williams of Leavenworth, KS; mother Patricia Williams of Leavenworth, KS; three sisters, Joni Cline and Lisa Knox both of Leavenworth, KS and Laura Hendrick of Lockhart, TX.

Renner
CAMERON – Funeral services for Charles Enoch Renner Jr., 67, of Riverside were held Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Ben Arnold Cemetery, near Cameron with Ed Evans and Walter Hicks III officiating. He died Tuesday, March 20 in a Conroe hospital.
Mr. Renner was born May 9, 1933 to Charles Enoch Renner Sr. and Etta Hodge in Cherry Valley, AR. He graduated from Cherry Valley High School in AR and the University of AR. He was a project representative for KSA Engineers for 41 years. Mr. Renner was a Methodist.
Surviving are: Wife, Ernestine Renner of Riverside, TX; stepson, W.M. James King of Alvarado; stepdaughter, Dorothy Renee Schisser of Riverside; two brothers, Leon Renner of Denison and Roger Renner of Sherman; sister, Margaret Pennington of Sherman; six step grandchildren.

Jackson
Funeral services for Lester D. Jackson, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial following in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Tim Cheatham of Battetown Baptist Church near Cameron officiated.
Mr. Jackson died Saturday, March 17 at King’s Daughters Hospital in Temple. He was a Cameron resident for the past 13 years, having moved from Rockdale where he lived most of his life.
He was born Sept. 15, 1928 in Milam County to Elbert F. and Avy P. (Isbell) Jackson. He attended school in Rockdale and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Jackson married Annie Laverne "Sally" Dockall on Oct. 27, 1951 in Rockdale. He was a supervisor for Kerr-Bann in Taylor for 20 years.
For the past 20 years he played steel guitar with the King of Swing Band. "He was an early member of King of Swing, a pioneer in this music we love called Western Swing. Had it not been for his skill and talent, along with all the others, we wouldn’t have this wonderful music today," said Barbara Martin, publisher of Western Swing Monthly magazine.
Mr. Jackson attended Marlow Baptist Church and was a member of Rockdale VFW Post 6525.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Jackson of Cameron; a daughter, Debbie Melton of Cameron; a grandson, Russell Melton of Cameron; and a sister, Evonell McMillian of Houston.
Pallbearers were Adrian Bailey, Jerry Caywood, Bob Jacobs, John Aikey, Kenny McMillian and Mike McMillian.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cards may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 565, Cameron, TX 76520.
