Ms. Morton
Funeral services for Rebecca Diane Morton of Lampasas were June 1, 2006, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jim Wooldridge officiating. Cremation followed the service.
Ms. Morton died May 29 in a car accident near Briggs. She was 28.
She was born Sept. 14, 1977, in Pasadena, to Jerry and Mary Sciacca Morton.
A homemaker, Ms. Morton had been a resident of Lampasas for the past six years. She enjoyed music, art and shopping.
She is survived by her parents of Lampasas; a daughter, Lauryn Morton, of Lampasas; two sisters, Gail Obier, and husband, Barry, of Lampasas, and Joanna Cobaugh, and husband, Gary, of Pennsylvania; a grandfather, Albert Morton, of Lampasas; and a nephew and nieces, Kyle and Elizabeth Obier and Jennifer and Emily Cobaugh.

Mrs. Enders
Funeral services for Evelyn Pearl Enders, 81, are May 31, 2006, at First Assembly of God in St. Joseph, Mich., with the Rev. David Rueb officiating. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, Mich.
Mrs. Enders died May 26 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Berrien Springs, the daughter of Adolf and Lena Longner Fryer.
On Dec. 14, 1944, she married Donald J. Enders, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2001.
Mrs. Enders served alongside her husband during his 40 years of ministry to congregations in Westwood, Calif.; Rupert, Idaho; Wapato, Wash.; Ontario and Nyssa, Ore.; Gillette, Wyo.; and Sterling, Kan.
Mrs. Enders was a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers-American College of Musicians.
She is survived by four children, Donald Enders, of Orofino, Idaho, Ronald Enders, of Nyssa, Ore., Crystal (O'Dean) Hammett, of Lampasas, and Irvin (Jan) Enders, of Raymore, Mo.; six grandchildren, Joely, Joey, Tonya, Lisa, Sara and Kenny; 15 great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jaely, Joshua, Javin, Jaxon, Nathan, Kevin, Katie, Kylie, Ariel, Colby, Ty, Andrew, Preston and Phoebe; a brother, Eldon Fryer; and sisters, Priscilla Scott, Verna Thomas and Violet Will.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Leon Fryer.
The family requested memorials be made to the German Assembly of God District Headquarters, P.O. Box 577, Bridgman, Mich. 49106.

Mr. Kenan
Funeral services for Lampasas resident James Milton Kenan, 81, were May 29, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with the Rev. Mark Barnard and Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial was at Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County.
Mr. Kenan died May 26 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1921, in Lake Victor, to Milton Hotchkiss and Alice Louise McCoy Kenan.
Mr. Kenan attended and graduated as salutatorian from Lake Victor High School.
He married Billie Lu James on June 28, 1942.
Mr. Kenan was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He served during World War II from 1942-46.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas, Saratoga Masonic Lodge No. 546 A.F. and A.M., the Heritage Club and the morning coffee club.
Mr. Kenan had been a farmer for a large part of his working career, and later was a gas boiler technician at Fort Hood, retiring in 1983.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. Jamison, and husband, Garrett, of Dallas, and Robbie Kenan, of Lampasas; one son, Milton W. Kenan, and wife, Sharon, of Crawford; a sister, Johnnie Wilson, and husband, Stanley, of Lampasas; four grandchildren, Garrett Jamison, Kelly Matheny, Kenneth Terry and Tracie Kenan; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Madison Matheny.
He was preceded in death by his wife on April 27, 2006, and by one brother, Leslie Alton "Pete" Kenan.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Faye Mullins, 1115 E. Fourth St., Lampasas.

Mrs. Standard
Florene (Toby) Hill Standard, 84, of Angleton, formerly of Lampasas, died May 25, 2006, in Angleton.
Funeral services were May 28 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas with Boyce Edwards officiating. Burial was at Smith School Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Standard was born May 3, 1922, in Coryell County, one of 16 children to Albert and Florence Hill.
She was a Christian and enjoyed gardening, reading and assisting and planning the Hill family reunion each year.
She was married to Leroy Standard and they farmed and ranched in Central Texas.
She is survived by her twin sister, Albertine Hill Kellogg, of Midland; daughters, Joyce Elder, and husband, John, of Lake Jackson, and Nancy Kanetzky, and husband, Tommy, of Florence; sons, Gary Standard, and wife, Irene, of Lake Jackson, James Standard, and wife, Susie, of West Columbia, Byron Standard, and wife, Mary, of Sweeney, and Daron Standard, and wife, Cindy, of Angleton.
Other survivors include 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, in 1997; and by seven brothers and seven sisters.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Greg Standard, Rick Elder, Zane Kanetzky, Cliff Kanetzky, Skylar Standard and Cullen Standard.
Honorary pallbearers were Grant Standard, Cameron Standard, Ian Standard, Britt Standard, Garrett Standard and Shane Jenkins.
The family requested memorials be made to Texas Heart Institute of Houston.

Mrs. Lewis
Funeral services for Ira Ola Lewis, 83, of Lampasas were May 25, 2006, at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas with Minister Lon Jones officiating, assisted by Minister Kevin Haynes. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis died May 23 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
She was born June 15, 1922, in Burnet County, the daughter of Clarence and Lula Hamilton Goss.
She married Henry Edward Lewis on March 2, 1939, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Lewis had worked at Terry Lynn's, a local clothing manufacturing company, and most recently for Wal-Mart, where she was employed for 19 years.
She was a member of First Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Forbes and Wylinda Cook, both of Lampasas, and Wynona Matthews, of Navasota; two sons, Waymon Lewis, of Johnson City, and Wendell Lewis, of Kyle; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; by a son, Weldon Errol Lewis; and by two sisters.
The family requested memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Salas
Funeral Mass for Margarita Tovar Salas of Lampasas is May 26, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father James Harnan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Salas died May 23 at her residence. She was 98.
She was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Gonzales County, to Juan and Paulita Hernandez Tovar.
She was married to Manuel Salas in Texas.
Mrs. Salas was a homemaker and belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Guadalupanas, the Cursillistas and the Altar Society.
While she lived in Lubbock, Mrs. Salas was a CCD teacher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She moved from Lubbock to Lampasas in 1969.
Mrs. Salas enjoyed baking cakes and cookies and participating in church activities.
She is survived by five daughters, Felisiana Martinez, of San Antonio, Manuela Albiter, of Lampasas, Elida Salas, of Lubbock, Josefina Contreras, of Killeen, and Margie Garcia, of Grand Prairie; three sons, Mike Salas, of Clinton, Okla., George Salas, of Lawton, Okla., and Roberto Salas, of Lewisville; two brothers, Celestino Tovar, of Wisconsin, and Jesus Tovar, of Gonzales; one sister, Manuela Escobido, of Houston; 54 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by four sisters; and by one brother.
Pallbearers are Arnold Contreras, Horacio Martinez III, Eric Martinez, Roberto Ibarra, Leonardo Sanchez, Carlos Ybarra, Johnny Ybarra, Jose Ybarra and Felix Ybarra.
The family requested memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Field
Glenn Hazel Jones Field of Lampasas died June 24, 2006, at Spring Oaks Terrace in Lampasas, just shy of her 100th birthday.
A graveside memorial service is July 15 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Field was born July 17, 1906, near the community of Naruna in Burnet County. She was the oldest child of Andrew Ernest and Nora Lee McLean Jones and grew up on her parents' ranch on the Lampasas County-Burnet line on Naruna Road.
As a child, Mrs. Field traveled back and forth in a horse and buggy to Lampasas for school. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1923.
Mrs. Field attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, and married Albert Field in May 1927.
She was a lifelong resident of Lampasas. In 1941, she joined the Catholic church and became a member of St. Mary's where she was active for many years in the Altar Society.
Mrs. Field enjoyed cooking, oil painting, traveling, gardening, collecting antiques, reading western novels, and raising birds and chickens. She was a seamstress.
Survivors include a daughter, Dana Hollister, of Lampasas; a granddaughter, Alison Garner, and her husband, John; a great-granddaughter, Candice Garner, of Sugar Land; a great-great-granddaughter, Skyler Elizabeth Holmes, of Nashville, N.C.; and a brother, James Jones, of Rockdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Daphne Jones Brown; brothers, Lewis (Buck) Jones and Ernest (Son) Jones; and a great-grandson, Jett Glenn Garner.

Mrs. King
Funeral services for Margie E. King, 75, of Lampasas were June 29, 2006, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Lumpkin officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Marble Falls.
Mrs. King died June 26 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.
She was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Pleasant Valley, to Robert Newton and Bertha Marie Sims Whitman.
Mrs. King attended schools and graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1948.
She attended Durham Business College and later moved to San Antonio where she was a financial secretary for Travis Park United Methodist Church. There she met Thomas Irving King Jr., and they were married June 6, 1955.
Mrs. King was very involved with church work, including United Methodist Women. She was a life member of the Garden Club and enjoyed crafting, quilting, cooking and canning and playing in the handbell choir.
She was an avid supporter of Little League and Boy Scouts and had been secretary for the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; two sons, Timothy Alan King, of Lampasas, and Philip Andrew King, of Pearland; a daughter, Martha Ann Logan, and husband, Brad, of Cottonwood Shores; five grandchildren, Christie, Roxanne, Alyssa, Ian and Paige; and five great-grandchildren, David, Sarah, Andrew, Matthew and Gabriel.
The family requested memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, U.S. Highway 190 E., Lampasas; Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center, P.O. Box 805, Marble Falls, TX 78654; or Church World Service CROP.
