Mrs. Villegas
Lampasas resident Ana Maria Villegas, 75, died July 27, 2007, at her residence.
Funeral Mass was held July 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Villegas was born April 17, 1932, in Esmeralda Coahuila, Mexico, the daughter of Florentino and Refugio Hernandez.
She married Ramon Villegas Sr. in 1959.
Mrs. Villegas was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was involved with the Guadalupanas.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; five daughters, Ramona Rivera, Maria Guadalupe Soto and Rosa Maria Rivera, all of Lampasas, Ana Maria Fernandez, of Mexico, and Maria Lindsey, of North Richland Hills; three sons, Juan Carlos Valdez and Jesus Martin Villegas, both of Lampasas, and Ramon Villegas Jr., of Lockhart; two sisters, Preciliana Hernandez and Florentina Robles, both of Mexico; 35 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bernandino Salazar.

Mrs. Taylor
Funeral services for Ida Mae Taylor, 68, of Lampasas were July 26, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial was at Tobey Cemetery at Oakalla.
Mrs. Taylor died July 24 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Oakalla, the daughter of Hurchel and Mable Wooten Reavis.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Briggs High School.
She married John Taylor on Oct. 20, 1961, in Marble Falls.
Mrs. Taylor retired from the Farm Service Agency office of the local USDA.
She enjoyed shopping, playing Bunko and traveling. She was very active in a senior volleyball league and in basketball.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Town & Country Study Club and TASCO. She belonged to First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; a daughter, Kim Johnson, and husband, Chris, of Denton; a son, Randy Taylor, and wife, Gayle, of Briggs; a brother, Jr. Reavis, and wife, Gloria, of Oakalla; a brother-in-law, Carroll McCoy, of Burnet County; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Juanice McCoy, and a brother, Billy Joe Reavis.
The family requested memorials be made to Tobey Cemetery, 27751 FM 2670, Killeen, TX 76541.

Mr. Green
Funeral services for longtime Lampasas resident Charlie Wallace Green were July 18, 2007, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas. Pastor David Shaver officiated. Burial was at Stranger Cemetery near Marlin.
Mr. Green was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a realtor most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Loraine Walton Carpenter Green "Aunt Doodle," whom he married on April 8, 1985; by a stepson, Joseph R. Green, of Hawaii; a grandson, Dezhur Green; a granddaughter, Illona Marcello; a niece and nephew and their spouses; and by numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Riley Green.

Mrs. Horn
Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Horn, 80, of Lampasas are July 25, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Naruna Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Barnard officiating. Burial will follow at Naruna Cemetery.
Mrs. Horn died July 22 at Northwood Health Care Center in Marble Falls.
She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Sweetwater, the daughter of Louis Clair and Thelma Armstrong Walker.
Mrs. Horn was a real estate apartment manager for many years. She was a member of Naruna Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Melody Strauss, of Woodstock, Ill., Anita Kizziar, and husband, William, of Dallas, and CJ Barnard, and husband, Mark, of Burnet; two sisters, Josephine Harris, of Lubbock, and Frances Miller, of McDade; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Douglas Horn, on Jan. 14, 2005.
The family requested memorials be made to Naruna Baptist Church.

Lt. Col. Thomas
Funeral services for retired Lt. Col. Billy J. Thomas, 74, of Kempner were July 23, 2007, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with the Rev. Dr. Frank Somera of Copperas Cove Christian Church officiating.
Burial with full military honors followed at Smith Cemetery at Kempner.
Mr. Thomas died July 18 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Ernest and Billie Payne Thomas.
Mr. Thomas married Shirley Simmons on Aug. 28, 1957, in Bartlesville.
He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1976. After retirement, he began working as a probation officer for Lampasas County, retiring after 16 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of Kempner; two brothers, Gary Lovell of Tulsa, Okla., and Scott Lovell, of Bartlesville.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Terence Owen Thomas, in December 2002.
The family requested that memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 2433 Ridgepoint Dr., Suite B, Austin, TX 78754, or American Heart Association, 6801 Sanger, Suite 102, Waco, TX 76710.

Mrs. Crisp
Graveside services for Dorothy Crisp, 75, of Ashdown, Ark., were Aug. 15, 2007, at Ashdown Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Green officiating.
Mrs. Crisp died Aug. 11 in Ashdown.
She was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mrs. Crisp was a member of the Morning Star. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Howard, of Ashdown, and Jana DeAnn Villiaba, of Austin; a sister, Billie Dudenhoffer, of Hilltop Lakes; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, William Swepston.

Mr. Jones
Funeral services for Jack Ralph Jones, 78, of Mexia -- a former Lampasas resident and longtime educator -- were Aug. 4 at Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia. Robin Wright, minister of Northcrest Church of Christ, and Benny Lucas officiated. Burial was at Mexia Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Aug. 1. He was born March 9, 1929, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Ralph and Mabel Jones. He had been in the education field for 32 years, including time as a junior high science teacher for the Lampasas Independent School District. Mr. Jones also served as president of the Lampasas chapter of Texas State Teachers Association. While in Lampasas, he and his family were active at First Street Church of Christ.
In Mexia, Mr. Jones was a member of Northcrest Church of Christ.
In addition to his tenure with the Lampasas ISD, he was employed with the Spring Independent School District and the Mexia Independent School District, from which he retired after 21 years as the high school guidance counselor.
His educational career also included service as a junior high principal.
He enjoyed working with his Simmental cattle and was a member of the American Simmental Association. Mr. Jones was an avid hunter. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was a past member of the Mexia Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Franchelle Fowler Jones; a son, James Lynn Jones, of Denton; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kay and Bobby Bankhead, of Athens; and three grandchildren.

Love infant
Funeral services for Micah Benjamin Love, infant son of Weston and Corie Cosper Love, will be Aug. 14, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Clifton. Burial will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
Micah, who was born April 9, 2007, died on Aug. 4 in Waco.
Survivors are his parents of Waco; grandparents, David and Karen Love of Lampasas, and Ronnie and Carolyn Cosper of Clifton; great-grandmothers, Billie Streit of Vernon, and Estelle Cosper of Clifton; a brother, Charles David Love II of Waco; an aunt, Mandy Love of Houston; and an uncle, Colby Cosper of Clifton.

Mr. Isbell
Alec Dewayne "Pops" Isbell of Cedar Park and formerly of Florence died Aug. 2, 2007. He was 76.
A graveside burial service was Aug. 7 at the Florence Cemetery, with Bill Carlile officiating.
Mr. Isbell was born Aug. 12, 1930 in Oakalla to William Z. Isbell Sr. and Elsie Isbell. He married Shirley Johnson on Jan. 15, 1955 in Texarkana. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Isbell served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1956. He then worked in civil service at Fort Hood from 1962-86 in the wheel and track division.
He also was a member of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, served as fire marshal, was former president of the Balcones Fault baseball league and was a Boy Scout leader.
He also did ranching and custom farming. From 1985 until 1996 he worked with sons Alan and Randy in their utility construction business. On Aug. 5, 2006, he married Gloria Chambers of Cedar Park.
He is survived by his wife; sons Alan and wife Decata, and Randy and wife Terri; a daughter, Cheryl Brubaker and husband Bobby; grandchildren Crysti Brubaker, Zachary Isbell and wife Ashley, Robby Brubaker and wife Tessie, Constance Holmes and husband Dustin, Ryan Isbell, Barton Lee Isbell and Travis Isbell; and great-grandchildren Tyler and Zoe Brubaker, Haley Holmes and Riley Isbell.
Other survivors include stepson David Chambers and wife Suzy, and step-granddaughter Kayla Jean Chambers; a brother, Brook Isbell and wife Louise; sisters Helen Baker and husband Doug, LaDain Burson, JoNell Knight and husband James, and Gayla Sue Edgar and husband Randy; sisters-in-law Joyce Isbell and Carol Ann Kocureck; brother-in-law J.D. Kanetzky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by brothers William Z. Isbell Jr. and James Isbell, sisters Freda Kanetzky and Karmen Isbell, and brother-in-law Harold "Bud" Burson.

Mr. Kelly
Chris Eric Kelly, 37, of Waco, died July 24, 2007 at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Funeral services were July 28 at Lometa Church of Christ, with Minister Darnell Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Lometa City Cemetery.
Mr. Kelly was an automotive repair specialist. He attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco for his training in transmission repair and worked for Transmission Express.
Survivors include his daughter, Christina Fay Kelly of Searcy, Ark.; a brother, Charles Earl Kelly of Forest City, Ark.; his parents, Roy and Nelda (Brooks) Kelly of Waco; and his former spouse, Jill Nadine Caradine, of Searcy.
He was preceded in death on May 29, 2007, by his grandmother, Edna Brooks of Waco.
Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Directors had charge of local arrangements.
