Marlon Wilson
Marlon Duane Cozine Wilson, 29, of Greenville, died Monday afternoon at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clark Street Christian Church with Rev. W.D. Hines officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
Born Sept. 19, 1971 in Greenville, he was the son of Jacqueline Cozine Wilson and Leon Wilson.
Surviving are his parents of Greenville; two sons, Detrendyln Wilson of Dallas and Marquist Wilson of Greenville; daughters, Martezees Wilson of Dallas and Floretta Davis Wilson of Greenville; a brother, Charles Armstrong Jr. of Greenville and a sister, Natasha Wilson of Dallas.
Pallbearers are Tyson Davis, Sam Wilson Jr., Gavin Jimmerson, Darren Johnson, Damon Johnson and Mike Hoskins.
A wake is scheduled at 7 p.m today at Clark Street Christian Church.
Grundy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lyman Young
SNYDER, Okla. - Lyman S. Young, 96, of Snyder, Okla. died Tuesday at Frederick Nursing Home. Services were at Memorial Chapel in Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Charlie May officiating.
Mr. Young was born in May 1904 in Paris and married Aletha Lenora Moore in Powderly. He was a farmer by trade in Tillman County and attended Church of the Nazarene in Snyder, Okla.
Surviving are Rita Brown of Waco, Jack Young of Caddo Mills, Charles Young of Snyder, Okla., Wanda Settles of Lawton, Okla., Joan McDaniel of Bossier City, La. and Addie Jane Winan of Tulsa, Okla.
He was peceded in death by his wife; three sons, Ray Young, John D. Young and Curtiss Young; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and two baby daughters.
Preston-Leckie Funeral Home of Snyder was in charge of arrangements.

Raynell Guffanti
COMMERCE - Raynell Beauchamp Guffanti, 86, of Greenville died Wednesday at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville following a brief illness. Private services are scheduled for a later date.
Born Aug. 18, 1914 in Cumby, she was the daughter of Joseph Rhea Beauchamp and Mary Byrd Renshaw Beauchamp. Her parents were pioneer settlers of Texas following the Civil War. She grew up in Fannin County and was a 1931 graduate of Bonham High School.
She was married to Arthur McGee of Ardmore, Okla. who preceded her in death. Many years later she married Jack Guffanti in California. They moved to Greenville from Sonora, Calif. following retirement.
Surviving are a sister, Ludie Leo Beauchamp Parker of Shreveport, La.; two nieces, Beth Parker and husband Jack Winn of Commerce and Jonelle Parker Osburn and husband Marvin of Millbrae, Calif.; great-niece Elizabeth Winn Stephens and husband Bob of Irving; great-nephew Dan Parker Winn and wife Kelly of Bedford and great-great-niece McKayla Winn of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; sisters Beatrice Beauchamp and Eula Leon Parker and a brother, Jimmie Renshaw Beauchamp.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ, Boles Home or to a favorite charity.
Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Speed
COMMERCE - Joseph W. "Joe" Speed, 80, of Brashear died Tuesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. A committal service is scheduled for a later date in Saratoga, Wyo.
Mr. Speed was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Kerens; the son of Joseph M. and Maggie Sheppard Speed. He married Mary Alice Ivey on Feb. 2, 1948, in Corpus Christi.
Mr. Speed attended Howard Simmons College in Brownwood. He was a Mason for more than 50 years and a Baptist.
Mr. Speed worked 32 years for the U.S. Government; 17 years as metal smith for the U.S. Navy in Corpus Christi. He owned five different businesses while working 15 years for the U.S. post office as a mail handler. He retired in 1980.
Surviving are his wife of Brashear; daughter, Carrie Eaton of Brashear; son, Larry Speed of Saratoga, Wyo.; grandsons, Noah and Anthony Eaton of Brashear and Nathan Speed of Saratoga, Wyo.; granddaughter, Bridget Davidson of Jackson, Wyo.; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Monroe Speed, and a granddaughter, Aimee Eaton.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Rachel Gowin
EMORY - Rachel Gowin, 82, of Emory died Monday at her son's home in Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Wolfe officiating. Burial is in Dunbar Cemetery.
The daughter of Jessie B. Wade and Ruby Porter, she was born June 9, 1918 in Emory. She and Elmer Gowin were married in Emory in September 1934. A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are six sons, Wayne Gowin of Greenville, Kenneth Gowin, Ronnie Gowin, Danny Gowin and Larry Gowin, all of Emory and Perry Gowin of Lone Oak; two sisters, Betty Jo Armstrong of Emory and Dorothy Roberts of Rowlett; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1980.
Grandsons are pallbearers.

Alvis Harris
Alvis Eugene Harris, 68, of Greenville, formerly of Prescott, Ark., died Monday morning at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Rick Henslee and Richard Kellam officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born March 19, 1932 in Prescott, Ark., he was the son of Owen Harris and Lucille Delaney Harris. He married Vernice Porter on June 27, 1952 in Prescott.
Mr. Harris was the owner of H&W Supply. He was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Lynn Harris of Emory; daughter Debbie Ivy of Point; three sisters, Joyce Welch of Mabank and Lou Elmore and Polly Lewis of Winnsboro; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; a brother, Charles Harris and sister Sue McGlone.
Pallbearers are Farrell Nalls, Verdane Nalls, Derwood Nalls, Lynn Hudson, Ronnie Combs and Wendell Shelburn. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Boyce, C.W. Spainhour, Larry McCullough, Leon Powers and Elders of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Marvin Sudderth
LEONARD - Funeral services for Marvin Joe Sudderth, 76, of Gainesville, formerly of Bailey, are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Frazier officiating. Cremation will follow.
He died Sunday in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
Born April 3, 1924 in Leonard, he was the son of Joseph Tucker Sudderth and Lovie Mae Turner Sudderth. On Sept. 4, 1994, he married Annie Sobejana in Stockton, Calif.
Mr. Sudderth was a poultry rancher.
He is survived by his wife of Gainesville; his mother of Bailey; a daughter, Barbara Martorella of Copperoplis, Calif.; two sons, Michael Sudderth of Lodi, Calif. and Tom Sudderth of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters Betty Miles of Fort Worth and Georgie Brown and Mary Simons, both of Bailey and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Daniel Tallent
LEONARD - Funeral services for Daniel Jacob Tallent, 24, of Garland is at 2 p.m. Friday at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Tumey officiating. Burial is in Leonard Cemetery.
Mr. Tallent died Sunday in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born Aug. 19, 1976 in Dallas, son of Michael Tallent and Debora Skaer Tallent. He was a Baptist and worked in personal security.
Surviving are his parents of Garland; a sister, Melissa Reighley of Garland; brother Christopher Pruet of Terrell; grandmother Ann Taylor Skaer of Mesquite and grandfather James Wooten of Canton.
Visitation is from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

H.E. Caldwell
WILLS POINT - H.E. "Ellis" Caldwell, 75, died Saturday evening in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John D. Gondol officiating. Burial is in White Rose Cemetery.
Mr. Caldwell was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Cash, the son of Henry N. and Jewell Crawford Caldwell.
He was reared in Hunt County and farmed in in his earlier years. He was later employed in road construction and had worked as a motor grader operator and road foreman, working for Joe Davidson Construction in Terrell, Maroney Construction in Seagoville, Maroney Construction in Seagoville, Ray Holder Construction in Kaufman and retiring from A.K. Gillis & Son Construction of Sulphur Springs. Formerly of Wills Point, he had lived in Mabank for several years.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and David Maroney of Seagoville; brother Elber Caldwell of Taylors, S.C.; sisters Yuba Crump of Greenville and Velma Cox and husband Ray of Fate; two grandchildren, Kevin Maroney and wife Beth of Seagoville and Diana Maroney of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren, Jody Maroney and Jeff Maroney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Daphine, on Sept. 6, 1998.
Pallbearers are Mike Bass, John D. Geurian, Keith Norman, John Talley, Stanford Talley and Steven Talley.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Albino Garza
Albino G. "Lefty" Garza, 71, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. A mass is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. William's Catholic Church with Rev. Antonio Oscar Diez officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
The son of Antonio and Ciddya Gonzales Garza, he was born March 1, 1929 in Talco. On Dec. 6, 1952 he married Lois Estrada in Crosbyton.
Mr. Garza was an iron worker. He was a member of St. William's Catholic Church and International Association of Bridge and Ornamental Iron Workers Local 0263.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife; sons Albino Garza Jr., of Seagoville, Tony Garza of Wichita Falls, Gene Garza of Greenville, Raymond Garza of McKinney and Paul Garza of Greenville; three daughters, Shirley Herrera and Chris Ramirez, both of Greenville and Jeannie Sanchez of McKinney; a brother, Antonio Garza of McKinney; sister Ofelia Sanchez of Melissa; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are David Garza, Dino Garza Jr., Danny Garza, Willie Sanchez, Andrew Sanchez, Adrian Garza, Roy Tanguma and Monty Castillo.
A rosary is at Peters Funeral Home at 7 p.m. today.

Rachel Gowin
EMORY - Rachel Gowin, 82, of Emory died Monday at her son's home in Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Wolfe officiating. Burial is in Dunbar Cemetery.

Sam Williams
LEONARD - Funeral services for Sam Williams, 78, of Sanger, formerly of Leonard, are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McIntire officiating. Burial is in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Monday at the Denton Regional Health Center.
He was born July 7, 1922 in the Arnold Community to Edgar Thomas Williams and Bonnie Rushing Williams. He married Billie Lois Smith in Farmersville on Aug. 19, 1942.
Mr. Williams was a farmer. He was a member of the Grove Hill Methodist Church and the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of Sanger; a daughter, Donna Dyer of Sanger; son Charles Robert Williams of Dickson, Okla.; sisters Ruby Strode of Garland, Bonnie Marie Cyr of Dallas and Laverne Pullen of Cartwright, Okla.; two brothers, Kenneth Crisler of Edgewood and Ector Crisler of New Braunfels; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
