Dorothy Sommers
POTWIN, Kan. " Dorothy N. Sommers, 85, of Potwin, Kan. died Tuesday in Newton, Kan. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Potwin Christian Church with Rev. Rick McNary officiating. Burial will be in Potwin Cemetery.
Born June 28, 1915 in Richland, Kan., she was the daughter of Joseph G. Mead and Ethel Susie Huyett. She graduated from Potwin High School. On Aug. 17, 1933 she was married to John Sommers in El Dorado, Kan.
Mrs. Sommers was a member of First Christian Church where she served as choir director of adult and children choirs and served as a deaconess. She was a member of the Golden Age Club.
Mrs. Sommers was a past president of the Potwin PTA and served on the Board of Equalization for the protested land acquisition when the Kansas Turnpike was built.
Surviving are sons Richard L. Sommers of Emporia, Kan., Paul M. Sommers of Salina, Kan. and Bill G. Sommers of Greenville; a daughter, Sue Jackson of Potwin, Kan.; sister Wilma Sommers of Potwin, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, John Sommers and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to King Park in Potwin.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Bob Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater, Kan.

Richard Overstreet
QUINLAN " Richard Lee Overstreet, 30, of Quinlan died Tuesday at Medical City in Dallas. A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Weaver Cemetery with Edward Ruff officiating.
He was born Aug. 20, 1970 in Dallas to Roy and Martha Mylloyd Overstreet.
Mr. Overstreet is survived by his wife, Serena Overstreet of Quinlan; two sons, Lewis and Johnathon Overstreet and two brothers, Roy and Randy Overstreet.
Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vaughn Sellers
QUINLAN " Vaughn Hyllie Sellers, 56, of Quinlan died Sunday at Lakepointe Medical Center in Rowlett. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Raymond Boulter Jr. officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
Born in Conway, Ark. on Oct. 17, 1944, he was the son of George and Magleen Rentals Sellers. Mr. Sellers was a truck driver and he was a Baptist.
Surviving are his mother; a son, Roger Sellers; a daughter, Robin Ramis; brother George Sellers; a sister, Georgia Bowen; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James Morrow
FARMERSVILLE " James D. "Jimmy" Morrow, 98, of Farmersville died Saturday at North Central Medical Center, McKinney. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Farmersville Church of Christ. Burial is in Thompson Cemetery in Copeville
Mr. Morrow was born on October 11, 1902 in Farmersville. He married Thelma Montgomery on November 28, 1925.
He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the Farmersville Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Carl Morrow of Farmersville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m.today at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home, Inc. , which is in charge of arrangements.

J.C. Branton
J.C. Branton. 82, of Greenville died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Weems and Rev. Mike Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
He was born on March 17, 1919, in Kent, Okla., to David A. and Dora Saffel Branton. He married Dorothy Coats on July 5, 1947, in Greenville. He was a carpenter and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Mason and a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; daughters Sharon Dawson of Greenville and Pam Littleton of Stephenville; a brother, Harry Branton of Norman, Okla.; a sister, Grace Dixon of San Francisco, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Branton, a brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Sean Dawson, Brian Dawson, Mark Littleton, Shannon Coats, David Watson and Donald Grissom.

Harold Jordan
LONE OAK " Harold Jordan, 82, of Lone Oak died Saturday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Church of the Nazarene in Greenville with Rev. Darrell E. Keith officiating. Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Lone Oak.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1918, in Pierre, S.D., to Arthur Howard and Cynthia Mae Pittman Jordan. He was a retired chef and a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Riverside, California.
Surviving are a son, Paul Jordan of Pahrump, Nev.; daughters, Kathy Bell of Lone Oak and Kim Jordan of Pahrump, Nev.; a sister, Dorthy Niebaum of Sioux City, Iowa, and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean R. Jordan on July 4, 2000.

Olen T. "Pappy" Knowles
ARLINGTON " Olen T. "Pappy" Knowles, 81, of Dalworthington Gardens died Friday at Arlington. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moore & Sons Funeral Home, Bowen Road Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Kaufman County.
He was born June 10, 1919. He was a retired mechanic for Temco, LTV, E-Systems. He was a Mason and a member of Grand Prairie Saddle Club and Epworth Methodist Church, Arlington.
Surviving are his wife Clarice; a son, Olen Knowles Jr.; daughters, Cathy Wright and Mary Mundy; a brother, Ernie Knowles; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sanaa Bell
Sanaa Shi'Ann Bell, newborn, of Wolfe City died March 24. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. R.L. Price officiating.
She was born in Dallas March 24, 2001 to James Bell and Kristen Hashaway. She was a member of New Beginning Church of God in Christ in Wolfe City.
Surviving are grandparents Howard and Donnie Willis of Greenville and Elaine Hashaway of Wolfe City and great-grandparents Ozie Hashaway of Wolfe City and Catherine Shaw of Greenville.
Pallbearers are friends of the family.
Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home of Greenville is in charge of arrangements.

Gussie Brown
Gussie Mae Brown of Greenville died Tuesday night at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Nichols and Rev. Randell Rather officiating. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery.
Born in Hunt County on April 27, 1906, she was the daughter of David Crockett Shrader and Emma Lou White Shrader. She was married to E. Hillyard "Hilly" Brown on Dec. 24, 1933 in Campbell.
She retired from the Greenville High School cafeteria. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1937 and was a member of the Joy-Spurlock Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie S. and Kay Brown of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Mary Sue Brown of Greenville; sister and brother-in-law Leona and Jack Warren of Greenville; a sister, Mattie Lou Gilbert of Houston; grandchildren Sharon Davis of Tacoma, Wash., Ronald Brown of Allen, Sandra Russell of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Steven Brown of Denver, Colo.; 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 28, 1981; brothers Arlo Shrader, Robert Shrader and Noel Shrader and sisters Billye Floyce Shrader and Juanita Grego.
Pallbearers are Robert Morris, Rex Bunch, Dr. Dee McCrary, Charles Sivley, Ronald Chetlin and Dennis Moser. Art Hopper is an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Martha Cook
ROCKWALL " Martha Jane "Janie" Cook, 98, longtime resident of Rockwall died Wednesday in Rowlett. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday in the M.L. Jones Chapel at First Baptist Church in Rockwall with Dr. Ervin Cook and pastor Steve Swofford officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
She was born Jan. 23, 1903 in Wood County to John Wiley and Rebecca Agnes Price George. Mrs. Cook was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
Surviving are two daughters, Syble Wright of Fate and Veta N. Jolley of Rowlett; two sons, Ervin Cook of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and John Cook of Sanger; a sister, Mirtie Brooks of McAlester, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.T. Cook; daughter Rosie Cook; daughter Frances Little and a grandson.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.

Henrietta Powell
SULPHUR SPRINGS " Funeral services for Henrietta Powell, 93, of Cumby are at 2 p.m. today at the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Burial is in Cumby Cemetery. She died Wednesday evening at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of James Thomas and Lela Reding Little, she was born Feb. 3, 1908 in Lone Oak. She married Otis Pierce "Happy" Powell on July 31, 1932 in Lone Oak.
Mrs. Powell was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Campbell.
Mrs. Powell is survived by a son, Billy Wayne Powell of Cumby; a daughter, Katherine Janette Powell of Cumby; three sisters, Mattie Horton of Mesquite, Mildred Weeks of Sulphur Springs and Viola Dodson of Point; a brother, Hugh T. Little of Point; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; a son, Tommy Powell; one granddaughter and seven brothers.
Pallbearers are Maurice Akin, Tommy Sanderson, Kevin Green, Christopher Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Shane Powell and Kyle Mathes.

Bertha Wilson
Bertha Mae Wilson of Greenville died March 23 in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church of Greenville with Rev. R.C. Wren officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
She was born June 21, 1936 in Greenville, daughter of Eston and Cornelia Parson. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She graduated from Booker T. Washington School in 1955.
Surviving are three sons, Willie Frank Wilson of Dallas, Tommy Earl Wilson of Dallas and Steven DeRay Wilson of Greenville; two brothers, Frank Parson of Garland and Eddie Davis of Greenville; a sister, Berdie Bell Jones of Greenville and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends of the family are pallbearers.
There is a wake from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home Chapel.

Mary Cherry
Mary Eugene Cherry, 71, of Greenville died Tuesday night at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Mizer and Rev. Ann Trahan officiating.
Born in Celeste on Jan. 4, 1930, she was the daughter of Maxie Raymond Morris and Flossie Louella Ausburn. She was married to John Henry Cherry on Nov. 30, 1962 in Freestone County.
Mrs. Cherry was a homemaker and she was a Baptist.
Surviving are cousins Annie Malcolm and Patricia Sealy of Greenville and Mary Walker of Quitman and several other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Beverly Hardin
FARMERSVILLE " Beverly Marion Hardin, 76, of Greenville died at her residence Wednesday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Vowell officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
The daughter of Brenard Huey Jean and Marjorie Glass Jean, she was born June 7, 1924 in Farmersville. She and Dewey Eugene Hardin were married in Greenville on June 7, 1941.
Mrs. Hardin was a homemaker. She was a member of Westview Methodist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by a daughter, Kandis Hinojosa of Ruston, La.; a son, Kelly Hardin of Greenville; two sisters, Brenda Greer Craft of Mexia and Jessie Morgan of Greenville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Raymond Gray
Raymond T. Gray, 75, of Greenville died Tuesday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Combs and Rev. Randell Rather officiating. Burial is in Tidwell Cemetery.
The son of Andrew Gray and Maggie Mitchell Gray, he was born March 31, 1925 in Rockwall County. He married Della Holman in Dallas July 3, 1952. She preceded him in death May 9, 1981. He and Betty Holt were married Nov. 14, 1981 in Dallas.
Mr. Gray served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and was a member of Tidwell Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; son Russell Gray of Greenville; stepsons Jimmy Wright of Rosharon and Bill Wright of Grand Prairie; a stepdaughter, Kathy George of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Berniece Lewis of Dallas and Bettye McCrary of Georgetown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A son, Randy Gray, preceded him in death in 1982.
Pallbearers are Roy Hogge, James Adams, Tim George, Bill Wright, Chris Gray and Chad Gray. Clovis Emmerson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Ingram
FARMERSVILLE " Robert Milton Ingram, 60, of Blue Ridge died Monday at North Central Medical in McKinney. A graveside service is at 10 a.m. today at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville.
He was born Nov. 27, 1940 in Greenwood, Miss. to Milton and Anna Laura Ingram. He was a delivery driver.
Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mattie Ivie
EMORY " Mattie Luckett Ivie, 88, of Emory, died Monday at Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Emory Baptist Church with Rev. Leo Trimble and Floyd Dean Trimble officiating. Burial is in Smyrna Cemetery.
The aughter of G.W. and Florence Woodson Luckett, she was born Oct. 26, 1912 in Rains County. On Aug. 18, 1934 she was married to Clarence Ivie in Emory.
She was a school teacher in Rains County, retiring after 43 years. She was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ivie is survived by a brother, G.W. Luckett of Canton and sisters Dollie Trimble of Emory and Bettie Florence Black of Turlock, Calif.
Pallbearers are Billy Gene Trimble, Harrel Luckett, James Luckett, Ellie Wayne Luckett, Ronnie Luckett, Jerry Luckett and Tom Luckett. Roy Luckett and James "Bo" Bullock are honorary pallbearers.
Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory is in charge of arrangements.
