Ivan Holt
Ivan D. Holt of Garland died Sunday at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. There was a graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville with Michael Reeves officiating.
Born in Red River County on Aug. 26, 1921, he was the son of Dan Holt and Ethel Ashley Briggs Holt. On July 18, 1947, he married Lelia Beth Taggart in Greenville. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Mr. Holt was a retired aeronautical engineer. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of Garland; a daughter, Lelia Crabtree Olsen of Coppell; a brother, Otis Holt of Greenville; sister Mary Ella Reeves of Tucson, Ariz. and a granddaughter, Kelly Crabtree.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Holt on May 19, 1991, and by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Boles Home.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marvin Johnson
Marvin Ray Johnson, 56, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Sept. 1. Funeral services will be at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Lone Oak with Rev. R. Martin and R.L. Price, superintendent, officiating. Burial will be in Rabb Cemetery in Lone Oak.
Born in Lone Oak on Feb. 5, 1945, he was the son of Opal Givens and adopted parents Jimmy and Mary Johnson. He and his wife Marion Jean were married Oct. 23, 1965, in Lone Oak. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Johnson was a computer technician and he was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Anthony Ray Johnson of Ohio; two daughters, Chrystal Jean Johnson and Marva Ann Johnson, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers Virgil Givens, M.M. Givens, Leon Givens, Larry Givens and Frank Boyd; sisters Annie Johnson, Betty Givens and Anita Givens-Shaw and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His adopted parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Claude Winbush, Alikey, Vince Rhinehart, Sam Harris, Nelson Turner and Larry Hubbard.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home in Greenville.

Lynda Katenkamp
LONE OAK - Lynda Katenkamp, 56, of Lone Oak died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lone Oak Civic Center with Dr. James "Bob" Evans officiating. Burial will be in Weiland Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 1, 1945, in Dallas, daughter of Paul and Evelyn Mae Evans. She attended school in Dallas and lived most of her life in Lone Oak. On March 16, 1962, she married Jerry Katenkamp in Dallas. She was employed as a shipping clerk and she was a member of Dixon Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband of Lone Oak; a son, Terry Katenkamp of Caddo Mills; two daughters, Sharla Adye of Red Oak and Paula Horton of Sulphur Springs; a brother, Joe W. Evans of Balch Springs and five grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak.

Richard Schauer
CADDO MILLS - Richard E. Schauer, 33, of Caddo Mills died Monday at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Combest, chaplin, officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Son of Linda and Richard A. Schauer, he was born March 19, 1968, in Dallas. On Oct. 16, 2000, he married Sokunthea Long in Carrollton. Mr. Schauer served in the U.S. Army. He was a supervisor for Honeywell. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Schauer is survived by his wife of Caddo Mills; his parents of Caddo Mills and a daughter, Melanie Schauer, of Caddo Mills.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vernon Shguit on Jan. 18, 1987.
Pallbearers will be Terry Dooher, Ed Dooher, Bunchhav Hou, Brent Caughron and Thui Tran.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Buddy Swearingin
Buddy Joe Swearingin, 61, of Greenville died Wednesday afternoon at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Sparks, David Wight and Robert Wood officiating. Burial will be in Ladonia Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Commerce, son of H.G. "Sam" Swearingin and Jewell Shelby Swearingin. He married Doris Thompson on Jan. 2, 1960, in Greenville. Mr. Swearingin was a firefighter in Greenville, retiring after 36 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Greenville.
Mr. Swearingin is survived by his wife of Greenville; two daughters and son-in-law, Jeneace and Steve Holley of Greenville and Belinda McQueary of Caddo Mills; a brother, Charles Swearingin of Denison; three sisters, Alice Anders of Royse City, Sammy McPherson of Atlanta, Ga. and Judy Cooper of Commerce and grandchildren Amanda, Josh and James Holley of Greenville and Jake and Sam McQueary of Farmersville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jessie Ray.
Pallbearers will be Joe Little, Dwayne Lindsey, Robert Wood, Steve Thompson, Billy Coleman and Ron Kent. Members of the Greenville Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Troy Woodlee
MESQUITE - Troy David Woodlee, formerly of Lone Oak, died Wednesday in a nursing home in Seagoville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mr. Woodlee was born Aug. 18, 1911. He was a member of James Ladd Burgess Masonic Lodge for more than 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Lora Mae Woodlee; daughters Betty Ann Self and Doris Jenkins; a son, Troy Lee Woodlee; stepsons David Talley and Kenneth; a brother, Elmo Woodlee; sister Barbara Edwards and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Inez Simmons, a daughter, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite.

Emma English
WOLFE CITY - Emma Oneida English, 89, of Dallas died Tuesday at Manor Care Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating.
Born Jan. 16, 1912, in Fannin County, she was the daughter of William M. and Mattie Bell Morgan Gilmer. On Aug., 27, 1935, she was married to Robert C. "Bob" English in Denton. Mrs. English was a receptionist for Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co. for 25 years; she was retired. She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Dallas.
Mrs. English is survived by a daughter, Norma English Rogers of Dallas; sister Ada Owens of Conroe; sister-in-law Doris Gilmer of Tyler; a grandson, Randy Dale Rogers of Dallas and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.

T.E. Harrell
ROYSE CITY - T.E. Harrell, 68, died Tuesday. A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. today at the Royse City Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Rockwall County to William F. and Allene Maddox Harrell. Mr. Harrell served in the U.S. Army. He was a diesel mechanic for City Sign in Dallas and had lived in Quinlan for 10 years.
Survivors include four sisters, Edna Earl Taylor of Dallas, Mildred Leath of Dallas, Pauline Fuller of Mesquite and Julia Belle Campbell of Royse City.
A brother, Murrell Harrell, preceded him in death.
Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

W.H. Hunt Jr.
LONE OAK - Walker Hooker "Bill" Hunt Jr., 68, of Lone Oak died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery, Greenville.
Born July 16, 1933, in Lone Oak, he was the son of Walker H. Hunt Sr. and Annie Lee Cody Hunt. He retired in June 2000 after 42 years in the fertilizer industry. Mr. Hunt was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Jane Hall Hunt of Lone Oak; two sons, Walker H. "Trace" Hunt III and wife Tami of Cypress and Kenny H. Hunt and wife Shellye of Dallas; two daughters, Carrie H. James and husband Bob of Rowlett and Nancy H. Brumit and husband Scott of Longview; two sisters, Mary Evelen Nicholson and husband James A. of Kerrville and Martha Ann White and husband Derald of Lone Oak; 11 grandchildren, Brittany Elizabeth, Walker Hooker IV and Victoria Marie Hunt of Cypress, Mariclair James of Rowlett, Hayden and Ethan Hunt of Dallas, Chad Alan, Chasity Nicole, Annie Lee, Garrett Coleman and Hunter Scott Brumit, all of Longview and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be James Shipman, Harold Williams, Charles Vance, Mike Melton, Neil Johnson and Charles Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Dickens, Dr. Peter Gray, Billy Barton, Bill Barton and Steve Barton.
Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice of Greenville, the American Lung Association or The American Cancer Society.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak.

Lynda Jackson
WOLFE CITY - Lynda Jackson, 62, of Wolfe City died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville following a year's illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christian Life Center in Wolfe City with Rev. Jimmy Oglesby. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Daughter of John Forrest and Hilda Vera Hartman Tyson, she was born April 21, 1939, in Summerville, Ga. She was married to Robert Nathan Jackson on Jan. 23, 1953, in Trenton, Ga. She was a homemaker and she was a member of Christian Life Center in Wolfe City.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband of Wolfe City; a son, Danny Jackson of Irving; daughter Lynn Surles of Wolfe City; two sisters, Curtis Staton of Dalton, Ga., and Virginia Elkins of Valleyhead, Ala.; three brothers, William Tyson of Summerville, Ga., Lindsey Tyson of Center, Ala., and Johnny Tyson of Charleston, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Grandfield, Ernie Sellers, Presley Sellers, Jason Horton, Bradly Humphries, Doug Gaffney and Aaron See.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

Billy Marlar
CUMBY - Graveside services for Billy Claud Marlar, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Long Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.
Born in Cumby on Oct. 14, 1931, he was the son of Ross and Vivian Campbell Marlar. He was a retired mill worker and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Billy Ray Marlar of Irving and Roger Dale Marlar of Euless; a daughter, Patsy Faye Manns of Irving; brothers Buddy Marlar of Cumby and Wayne Marlar of Sculley; sister Betty Jean Lawson of Cumby; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Travis Marlar, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cumby Funeral Home.

Mignon Wilkins
CANAL WINCHESTER, Ohio - Mignon Wilkins, 60, of Groveport, Ohio, died Wednesday at her residence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home. Burial will be in Betzer Cemetery in Carroll, Ohio.
Daughter of Ules Ray and Barba Leone Yeary, she was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School. Mrs. Wilkins was a salesperson for Tupperware and she was a member of St. Mary's Church in Groveport.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Al Wilkins; children Joe David Wilkins of Carroll, Ohio, Leigh Ann Lee and Mark Allan Wilkins, both of Groveport, Ohio; a sister, Jonnie O'Neal of Forney; brother John "J.C." Yeary of Alexandria, Va. and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 739 West State Street, Columbus, OH 43222-9988.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home located at 650 West Waterloo Street.

John Goodloe Sr.
WINNSBORO - Memorial services for John Calvin Goodloe Sr., 79, of Salinas, Calif., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smyrna Cemetery near Winnsboro with Scott Dykes, grandson, officiating. Mr. Goodloe died Jan. 6, 2001, of complications of diabetes.
He was born March 10, 1921, in Mobile, Ala., and lived in Monterey, Calif., for more than 30 years. He attended East Texas State University, earning his bachelor and master of science degrees. Mr. Goodloe was the first male to major in elementary education in the state of Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the reconnaissance division during World War II in China, Burma, India and Japan.
Mr. Goodloe began his teaching career in 1950 and was the principal of an elementary school in Austin before moving to California. He joined the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District as an elementary school teacher in Seaside, Calif., in 1960. He served as principal of Del Mar Elementary School in Marina, Calif., for eight years before becoming principal of Joseph Stilwell School in Fort Ord, Calif., where he stayed until his retirement in 1982. He was president of the Marina Lions Club in 1968 and 1969, and was a parent-teacher association president and Boys Scouts of America scoutmaster.
,Survivors include a son, John C. Goodloe Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Mary Lou Dykes of Gilmer; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Reynolds
EMORY - Woodrow W. Reynolds, 82, of Dallas, formerly of Emory died Monday in a Dallas hospital. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Dunbar Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 4, 1901, in Emory, son of Robert and Lula Davis Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a machinist for Wyatts Industry.
Survivors include sons Ron Reynolds of Carrollton, Earl Reynolds of Mesquite and Joseph Reynolds of Mesquite; a daughter, Sharon Byrne of Mesquite; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
