Ruby Holloway
Ruby E. Holloway, 75, of Greenville, died Monday morning at Senior Care at Lake Pointe. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Welborn and Rev. Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Daughter of Andy Lewis Price and Mamie Jewell Hensley Price, she was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Bells. On Nov. 18, 1946, she was married to James E. Holloway in Greenville. Mrs. Holloway had been employed as a sales clerk at Beall's and Hallmark. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the ALR Sunday school class and the Wesley United Methodist Church Sivley Singers.
Mrs. Holloway is survived by a son, Kip Holloway of Keller; a daughter, Denise Welborn of Garland; brother Gordon Price of Caddo Mills and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; two brothers, Andy Lewis Price Jr. and William Lewis Price and a sister, Betty Crawford.
Pallbearers will be James Patterson, Hewitt Moseley, Don Taylor, J.L. Boles, Boyd Woods, Weldon Mays, Jesse Lemmons, Charles Sivley and Weldon Henley. H.W. Inglish and Jack Griggs will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Catch the Spirit at Wesley United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Charles Kennedy
COMMERCE - Charles Wayne Kennedy of Commerce died Monday in Cumby. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
He was born in Bogota on Feb. 13, 1937, to Mack Kennedy and Mamie Gibbs Kennedy. He and his wife Karen were married May 30, 1958, in Paris. He retired from Dub's Quick Stop where he was manager.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife of Commerce; his mother of Bogota; children Pam Farris of Cumby and Kristie McSparrin and Philip Kennedy, both of Commerce; sisters Lorene Weir of Muleshoe, Maxine McGill of Dangerfield and Ruth Ann Allen of Deport; a brother, Robert Kennedy of Cuthand; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His father preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Jim White, Kerry Pannell, Shannon Moreland, Bobby Moreland, Buddy Ferrell and Tracy Brent.

Stella Byers
Stella Rose Byers of Greenville died Monday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Daughter of Joseph L. and Beulah Bates, she was born Feb. 16, 1906. Her family operated the Bates Hotel on Pickett Street in the early 1900s and later the Bon-Ton Café on Stonewall Street. On Dec. 14, 1925, she was married to Harbert Byers, who became Postmaster of Celeste. They moved to Greenville in 1983.
She is survived by a son, Andy Joe Byers of Melbourne, Fla.; two granddaughters, Michele and husband Edmund Stiles of Pennington, N.J. and Annette and husband Walter Colbertaldo and their children Michelle, Erika and Danielle Colbertaldo, all of Basking Ridge, N.J.
Pallbearers will be Ardis Drake, Doyle Dick, Hewitt Moseley, Charles Sivley, Ricky McDonald, Edmund Skiles and Marvin McDaniel.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home.

Lucille Craig
Lucille Craig, 69, of Greenville died Saturday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Mount Cemetery.
Born Sep. 7, 1931, in Amarillo, she was the daughter of Louis Duffie and Mary Josephine Scott Duffie. She was married to William T. Craig on Dec. 2, 1980, in Rockwall. Mrs. Craig was a homemaker and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Michael McClaskey of Beaufort, S.C. and Ronald Martinelli of Dallas; a daughter, Regina Ray of Reno, Nev.; brothers Lewis Duffie Jr. of Amarillo and B.H. Duffie of Big Spring; a sister, Josie Mathis of Century, Fla.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by her parents.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Henderson
Vernon Jackson Henderson, 92, of Greenville died Sunday morning at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born March 9, 1909, in Hunt County, he was the son of Sam Henderson and Lula Wygal Henderson. He and Rozine Winder were married Nov. 29, 1932, in Peniel. He retired as a foreman from Esco Manufacturing. Mr. Henderson attended Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Mr. Henderson is survived by son and daughter-in-law Rickey and Christy Henderson of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law Melba and Oran Weeks of Greenville; two sisters, Ann Cannon and Bertha Bell, both of Quinlan; grandchildren Vannette Pollenzi and Felicia Hollander of Dallas, Felicia Hollander of Rowlett, Mariah Rice of Carrollton and Natasha Henderson of Greenville and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Henderson; his wife; a brother, Howard Henderson and sisters Lois Robinson and Mary Goodman.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Benton, Marvin Hollander, George Honea, Joey Henderson, John Randolph and Bill Baldwin.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thelma Monk
Thelma Monk, 91, of Wylie died Saturday in Rowlett. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Royse City with Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Royse City Cemetery.
She was born April 10, 1909, in Stephenville to Dave and Mary Elizabeth McCreary Mitchell.
Surviving are children Verbel Watson, Alice Robertson, Tena Alford, Bobby Monk and Anzelle Fields; a sister, Rosalie Browning; 24 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Monk was preceded in death by her husband Elzie Ray Monk; a son, William David Monk; twin brothers Richard and Elmer Mitchell; sisters Lou Ella Brewer and Birtie Elizabeth Mitchell; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

William Parks
William Henry "Bill" Parks, 74, of Greenville, formerly of Richland Springs, died Saturday at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at Richland Springs Cemetery in San Saba County.
Mr. Parks was born Jan. 27, 1927 in Richland Springs to Robert W. and Bethel Mae Holley Parks. He married Lomagene Parks in 1956 and remarried to Nell Parks in 1977; both of his wives are currently deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran by draft and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in China. He was a sheet mechanic and retired from 14 years at E-Systems and 15 years at Rockwell International at Dallas Love Field. He was a member of Dixon Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by a girlfriend, Collene Lumpkin of Greenville; a son, Brett Alan Parks of Greenville; a stepson, James Paul Dyer, Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Lana Ladell Parks of Greenville; two stepdaughters; Paula Moore and Sheila Mitchell of Greenville; two brothers, Bobbie Parks of Garland and Hubert Parks of Arp; two sisters, Jeanine Willis and Ruby Lee D'Orio of Brady; nine stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Woodie Parks; his first wife, Lomagene and his second wife, Nell Parks.

Esau Amos
Esau Amos, 69, of Greenville died at his home Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Side Church of Christ with Fred Weaks officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park.
Son of Matthew and Minerva Amos, he was born July 9, 1932, in Greenville. Mr. Amos served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a custodian and was a member of East Side Church of Christ.
Mr. Amos is survived by a son, Billy Amos of Clarksville; two daughters, Faye Johnson of Dallas and Patricia Reed of Garland and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister and five brothers.
Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.

Emma Carlton
QUINLAN - Emma Jane Carlton of Quinlan died Wednesday. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
She was born March 29, 1925, in Norman, Okla. to William Ruey and American Ann Haggy Howe. She was a homemaker and she was a member of the VFW.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by sons Roy Hale of Quinlan, Ted Hale of Oklahoma and Charles Hale of Quinlan; a brother, Jessie Howe of Oklahoma; one sister, Wilma Newman of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Hale; three brothers, Perry Howe, Lonnie Howe and Joe Howe and two sisters, Ollie Seward and Dorothy Daugherty.
Visitation is during business hours at Quinlan Funeral Home.

Dr. Richard Clevenger
COMMERCE - Dr. Richard Lee Clevenger, 70, longtime Commerce resident, died Wednesday at his home. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Commerce.
He was born May 16, 1931, in Columbus, Ind. and lived in Columbus until his graduation in 1949. He then attended Indiana University. Before finishing his degree he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. He completed his bachelor's degree in chemistry at I.U. and earned his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Louisville in 1963.
Dr. Clevenger moved to Commerce in 1963 and became an Associate Professor of Chemistry at East Texas State University through 1980. During this time he was active in law enforcement through his work in forensic chemistry. He worked in private business until resuming his teaching career in 1990 and taught chemistry both in Kansas and Jacksonville until his retirement in 1996.
Dr. Clevenger volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America as Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master of local troops. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Sunday school superintendent, deacon and choir member.
Survivors include his wife Martha Hogenson Clevenger; a son, Eric Scott Clevenger and niece Rosanne Clevenger Barnette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Franklin and Zona Faye Clevenger; one brother, David Lynn Clevenger and two brothers in infancy.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the First Presbyterian Church of Commerce.
Pemberton Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of arrangements.

Nancy Bowman
LONE OAK - Nancy Jane Bowman, 68, of Lone Oak died Thursday at home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Cook and Rev. Danny Calk officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Born Aug. 8, 1933, in Conroe, she was the daughter of George and Jimmy Vestal. She was married to Jimmy Dale "Boots" Bowman on Jan. 28, 1951, in Freeport. Mrs. Bowman retired from Haggar Manufacturing Company where she was employed as a seamstress. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and Lone Oak Eastern Star. She had lived in Lone Oak for 51 years.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by her husband of Lone Oak; her mother, Jimmie Westbrook of Rusk; a son and daughter-in-law Gary George and Cathey Bowman of Lone Oak; daughter and son-in-law Nandale and Robert Vice of Greenville; four grandchildren, Wesley Vice of Dallas, Ryan Vice of Kansas, Kaylee Bowman of Lone Oak and Leslie Bowman of Commerce and great-grandchild Jaycie Haegens.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents Eula and George Albert Vestal and Emily Jane Hysmith and James Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Fred Clem, Eddie Bell, Eddie Earl White, Danny Bowman, Allen Hooten and Lester Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Abernathy, Mike Abernathy, Joe Don Abernathy, Bennie Bowman, Bennie Vice, Noble Ketchum and Troy Glenn Haynes.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley's Funeral Home of Lone Oak.

Jonathan Gilmore
CADDO MILLS - Jonathan Matthew Gilmore, 10, of Josephine died Wednesday in a car accident. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Josephine with Rev. Brant O'Conner officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He was born in Richardson on Aug. 7, 1991, son of Ronnie Gilmore and Shannon Boyd Gilmore. He was a student at Community Independent School District.
Surviving are his parents of Josephine; brothers David Gilmore and Richard Plannery, both of Josephine, Jeffrey Gilmore of McKinney and Ronnie Wayne Gilmore of Oklahoma City, Okla. and a sister, Rontonya Taylor of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home of Caddo Mills.

Hester Hodges
GRAND PRAIRIE - Hester B. Hodges, longtime resident of Grand Prairie and formerly of Commerce, died Thursday in San Antonio. Funeral services will be at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie at 11 a.m. Saturday with Dr. J.H. Wright officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Rosemound Cemetery, Commerce, at 4 p.m.
Daughter of James E. and Minnie Lankford Adair, she was born Aug. 30, 1913, on a farm near Commerce. She earned her master's degree in elementary education from East Texas State University in Commerce and taught in rural schools in Commerce for several yeas. She taught fifth grade in Grand Prairie from 1955 through 1975 and was a member of the Texas State Retired Teachers Association and the National Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Hodges was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie and taught Sunday school there and served on various committees.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven W. and Betty Hodges of Lockhart; four stepdaughters and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 41 years, Ralph Hodges; four brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home which is located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie.

Kay Kelley
Kay Kelley, 64, of Greenville died Wednesday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Blue officiating.
She was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Peoria, Ill.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Campbell of Greenville; three daughters, Robin Hamilton of Colorado, Shirley Faulk of Kansas and Mary Phillips of Illinois; four sons, Joe Richardson of Tennessee, George Bee of Greenville and Bobby and Paul Parris of Illinois; three stepsons, John Kelly of Denton, Jim Kelley of Maryland and Kenny Kelley of Gainesville; three sisters, Margie Cassidy, Goldie Fuller and Bonnie Bohmhold, all of Illinois; two brothers, Mike Fuller and Paul Fuller, both of Illinois and numerous grandchildren.
A brother, Ed Cassidy, preceded her in death in 2001.
Visitation is from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home Saturday.
