Robert Byrne

Robert B. Byrne, 75, of Corpus Christi died Monday in Corpus Christi. A rosary is to be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Williams Catholic Church. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with Monsignor John V. McCallum officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Mr. Byrne was born June 27, 1923 in New York City; the son of Robert D. and Ann McGrath Byrne. He was an aircraft maintenance manager for E-Systems. He was a past board member of Hunt County Memorial Hospital member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Suchu Lin Byrne of Corpus Christi; sons, Daniel Byrne of Corpus Christi and Darrell Byrne; daughters, Angela Byrne-Morton of Garland and Kathleen Byrne of Dallas; brother, John Byrne of Maryland; sister, Margaret Byrne of Maryland; and grandchildren, Bryan Morton, Andrea Morton and Regan Bryne-Goodman.

Pallbearers are Tommy Coe, Charles Nyquist, Horace Neilson, Jerry Morton, Bryan Morton and John Byrne.

Peters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Gloria Burkhart

ROCKWALL - Gloria McAllister Burkhart of Rockwall, formerly of Greenville, died Tuesday after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. There is a Eucharist requiem at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Road in Dallas.

She was born in Greenville on Sept. 29, 1924, daughter of Purdy Hansel McAllister and Dera Chamberlain. She worked as a secretary in her early years. She later became a traveling sales representative for Products Pleasantly Presented.

Ms. Burkhart was also an accomplished writer, cook, photographer, bird watcher and seamstress. She had lived in Dallas and Austin before moving Rockwall.

She was a 43-year member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Dallas and was a member of the group The Octavias.

Surviving are daughters Carol Daniels of Austin, Linda Potthoff of Terrell and Sandy King of Rockwall; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Eugene Boone Spaulding Jr.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, The Alzheimer's Association or the SPCA.

Lyons Funeral Home of Rockwall is in charge of arrangements.

Troy Gavin

CADDO MILLS - Troy Thomas Gavin, 93, of Caddo Mills died Wednesday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Caddo Mills with Rev. Trey Lancaster officiating. Burial is in I.O.O. F. Cemetery.

Mr. Gavin was born Oct. 4, 1905, in Rison, Ark.; the son of George W. and Myrtle Ashcraft Gavin. He married Vera Farr on July 17, 1933, in Louisiana. He was a farmer and contractor. He was a Baptist.

Surviving are sons, Tommy Gavin of Malden, Mo. and Tony Gavin of Caddo Mills; daughters, Nell Watson and Kay Watson, both of Caddo Mills; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, four sisters and one grandchild.

Pallbearers are Troy Dean Gavin, Doug Gavin, Clay Watson, Steve Gavin, G.T. Parsons Jr. and James Moreland.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Christopher Hamberger

CADDO MILLS - Christopher Brian Hamberger, 38, of Caddo Mills died Sunday in a plane crash in Guatemala. Funeral services are at 3:30 p.m. today at New Life Family Fellowship Church with Rev. Sherman Owens of Sarasota, Fla. officiating. Burial is in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mr. Hamberger was born May 12, 1960, in Brooklyn, N.Y.; the son of Joseph and Rosemary Mangialomini Hamberger. He married Kimberly Kay Zirkle on Jan. 14, 1984, in Guatemala. He was the warehouse manager/video department director for Living Water Teaching Ministries.

Surviving are his wife of Caddo Mills; parents, of New York; sons, Christopher Hamberger and Matthew Hamberger, both of Caddo Mills; daughter, Lynsey Hamberger of Caddo Mills; and sisters, Janice Miesmer and Karen Mitchell, both of Naples, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Layne Russell, J.D. Weber, Tom Pizzo, Frank Mangialomini, Barry Tubbs Jr. and Monty Bruton.

Visitation will be at New Life Family Fellowship Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Robert Hines

EMORY - Robert Hines, 83, of Emory died Thursday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daugherty Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Wolfe officiating. Burial is in Clifton Cemetery.

Mr. Hines was born Nov. 20, 1914, in Oklahoma; the son of Joe and Ella Lee Hines. He married Freda Blanton on Oct. 2, 1935 in Emory. He was a retired state highway department employee and a member of the Daugherty Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Emory; sons, John Hines of Mesquite and Robert Hines Jr. of Emory; daughters, Barbara Jaggers of Emory and Sue Strebeck of Arlington; brother, Joe Hines of Dallas; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are grandsons.

Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Lucille Parker

CADDO MILLS - Lucille K. Parker, 86, of Greenville died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 21, 1912 in Kansas City, Mo. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are son, Arthur Zumwat of Lake Tawakoni, and daughter, Pat Morrison of Greenville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.

Dr. James Zirkle

CADDO MILLS - Dr. James L. Zirkle, 56, of Guatemala died Sunday in a plane crash in Guatemala. Funeral services are at 3:30 p.m. today at New Life Family Fellowship Church with Rev. Sherman Owens of Sarasota, Fla. officiating. Burial is in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Dr. Zirkle was born July 19, 1942, in Akron, Ohio; the son of Cecil Ernest and Ethel Rowan Zirkle. He was married to Marion Kays on Nov. 7, 1964, in Louisville, Ky.

Dr. Zirkle was the founder and president of the Living Water Teaching ministries. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife of Guatemala; a son, Kim Hamberger of Caddo Mills; a daughter, Debbie Spanberger of Caddo Mills; brothers, Richard Zirkle and Jerry Zirkle, both of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Don Zirkle of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Thelma Caslow of Akron and Norma Nelson and Cecil Pelt, both of Broken Arrow and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Zirkle.

Pallbearers are Joe Kays, Jimmy Kays, Rev. Mike Simons, Rev. Dan Olson, Rev. Jimmy Squires and Keith Spanberger.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at New Life Family Fellowship Church.

Jimmy Zirkle II

CADDO MILLS - Jimmy Lowell Zirkle II, 30, of Guatemala died Sunday in a plane crash in Guatemala. Funeral services are at 3:30 p.m. today at New Life Family Fellowship Church with Rev. Sherman Owens of Sarasota, Fla. officiating. Burial is in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mr. Zirkle was born April 13, 1968, in Akron, Ohio; the son of Dr. James L. and Marion Zirkle. He married Laura Castricone on Jan. 15, 1993, in Yuma, Ariz. He was the missionary director and pilot for Living Water Teaching ministries.

Surviving are his wife of Guatemala; mother of Guatemala; sons, Jimmy Zirkle and Jordan Zirkle, both of Guatemala; daughters, Marion Michelle Zirkle and Alexis Zirkle, both of Guatemala ; and sisters, Kim Hamberger and Debbie Spanberger, both of Caddo Mills.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Zirkle, Danny Zirkle, Don Montgomery, Rod Eulenfeld Jr., Jay Dunlap and Kenny Castricone.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at New Life Family Fellowship Church.

Robert Brown

Robert L. Brown of Greenville died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Stubblefield and Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

The son of L.M. Brown and Mildred Dick Brown, he was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Ocie. He and Wilma Turner were married Aug. 18, 1950 in Austin. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and a Master's degree from East Texas State University. Mr. Brown was a retired assistant superintendent of finance with the Greenville Independent School District. He was a former employee of Mobil Corp. and Starling Mobil Oil Company of Greenville.

Mr. Brown was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and a former member of Greenville Rotary Club. He was a Mason and Shriner.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son, Larry Brown of Carrollton; a daughter, Judy Jennings of Plano and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1967 and his mother in 1990.

Pallbearers are Les Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Phillip Jennings, Don Sachtleben, John Mizell and Bob Harwell.

Memorials may be made to Ridgegrest Baptist Church or to the American Heart Association.

Visitation is at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Richard Florida

FARMERSVILLE - Richard Lee Florida, 42, of Merit, died Monday in Larned, Kan. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Church in Merit with Dr. Lawrence D. Burks and Rev. Jeff Fisher officiating. Burial is in Merit Cemetery.

Born Nov. 7, 1955 in Decatur, he was the son of Delbert and Tommie Griffeth Florida. He married Donna Daniels on June 20, 1975 in Ladonia. He was a farmer and a rancher. Mr. Florida was a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife of Merit; daughters Lisa Florida and Susan Florida of Merit; a son, Daniel Florida of Merit; his father of Merit; and a sister, Carolyn Singleton of Merit.

His mother preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville.

Christopher Hamberger

Oneta Key

QUINLAN - Oneta Partin Key, 80, of Quinlan died Friday at her home. There is a memorial service at 2 p.m. today at LyBrand Funeral Home in Quinlan.

The daughter of W.C. and Tina McCasland Partin, she was born Feb. 4, 1918 in Union Valley. She and Calvin Key were married in May 1965. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by three brothers, R.A. Partin and W.J. Partin of Greenville and Donald Partin of Ben Wheeler; one nephew and five nieces.

Her husband preceded her in death in July 1979.

Waymon Isbell

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Waymon R. Isbell, 68, of Knob Noster, Mo. died Sunday at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Knob Noster with Robert Baysinger officiating. Burial is in the Knob Noster Cemetery with military honors provided by the Whiteman Air Force Base Color Guard.

He was born July 4, 1930 in Boswell, Okla., son of Roy and Opal Jones Isbell. He and Bridget P. Dowling were married on July 18, 1955 in Wolfe City. Mr. Isbell served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until his retirement in 1972. Moving to Knob Noster in 1972, he became employed with Civil Service on Whiteman AFB as an electrician for 17 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of Knob Noster; a son, Michael Isbell of Blue Springs; two daughters, Maureen Gunter and Kathy Ferraer, both of Knob Noster; two brothers, J.V. Isbell of Wichita, Kan. and Donnie Isbell of Wolfe City; three sisters, Inez Wiggly of Spokane, Wash., Cleo Burnet of Dallas and Mildred Malone of Wolfe City and two granddaughters.

L.B. Rusk Jr.

EMORY - L.B. Rusk Jr., 55, of Emory died Tuesday at Home Place East Texas Hospice following a battle with cancer. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emory Baptist Church with Gary Koerner and Bill Beasley officiating. Burial is in Salem Cemetery in Alba.

He was born April 28, 1943 in Wood Lake, son of L.B. and Emmie Craft Rusk Sr. He married Linda Hill on Sept. 28, 1961 in Wood County.

Mr. Rusk was a self-employed builder. He was a member of Emory Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Alba; his parents of Edgewood; sons, Allen Rusk of Wylie, Shanon Rusk of Alba and Michael Chad Rusk of Pennsylvania; sisters Clara Creech of Edgewood and Fay McCollum of Mesquite; one grandchild and nieces and nephews.

A sister, Eva Nell Rusk, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are Max Fletcher, Randy Calhoun, Bill Beasley, Richard Easley, Bobby Nutt and Idus Lair. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Garrett, James Young and the Kitchen Sunday School class.

Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

Myrtle Boucher

COMMERCE - Myrtle Gay Boucher, 100, of Dickinson, formerly of Cumby, died Friday in Harris County. There is a graveside service at 3 p.m. today at Mount Zion Cemetery near Cumby. Rev. Jimmy Rose will officiate.

She was born in Cumby on Aug. 18, 1898. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Dickinson.

Surviving are a daughter, Imogene Cummings of Dickinson; a son, W.M. Boucher of Weatherford; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
