Alvin Bell

QUINLAN - Alvin L. Bell, 48, of Quinlan died Monday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in the Hogg Eye Cemetery.

Born in Dallas on Oct. 31. 1950, he was the son of Grady and Jessie Blackstock Bell. He worked for Texas Public Transportation.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Bell of Quinlan; a son, Benjamin Lenord Bell of Quinlan; a daughter, Melissa Marie Bell of Quinlan; two brothers, Ronald Joe Bell of Garland and Vernan Dewayne Bell of Little Elm; two sisters, Elizebeth Ada Foster of Kingston and Nancy Yvonne Dunavin of Celeste.

His parents preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jack Allen

Jack Wallen Allen, 73, of Greenville, died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Riley Hamilton officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Born in Greenville on Aug. 21, 1925, he was the son of Danial Truman Allen and Fannie Cornelia Key. He and Jimmie King were married in 1947 in Greenville.

Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and he was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Chuck Allen of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Nancy Allen of Rowlett; two daughters Sherrye Hubbs of Greenville and Kathye Allen of Houston and grandchildren Tye Hubbs, Kodye Hubbs, Mallory Allen and Carson Samuel Allen.

He was preceded in death by Truman Allen, Fannie Key Allen and T.L. Allen.

Elvira Lewis

Elvira Lewis, 26, of Wills Point, died Saturday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Jose Amoya officiating. Burial is in Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Canton.

The daughter of Jose Ramirez and Inocincia Ramirez, she was born Nov. 10, 1972 in Monterrey, Mexico. She was married in Greenville on July 31, 1993 to Jerry Lewis. She was a machine operator and a member of First Baptist Church, Hispanic.

Surviving are her husband of Wills Point; her parents of Greenville; two sons, Joshua Lewis and Jerry Lewis III, both of Wills Point; two brothers, Jose Ramirez and Cruz Ramirez of Greenville; two sisters, Virginia DeLeon of Dallas and Patricia Ernhert of Greenville and grandparents, Jerry Lewis Sr. and Sandra Deen.

Pallbearers are Jose Ramirez, Cruz Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, John Warrnel, Wesly Hammons and Lesly Hammons.

Tandy Quisenberry

Tandy R. Quisenberry, 86, of Hewitt died Sunday in a Waco nursing home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Dick Ivy officiating. Burial is Shady Grove Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 10, 1912. He was a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Seebees during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a building contractor.

Mr. Quinsenberry was a member of "Young at Heart" Club in Waco and Life Time Supporters of the State School in Mexia.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Quisenberry; two sons, Tandy Lee Quisenberry of Marlin and James Ray Quisenberry of Dallas; two daughters, Betty Jo Marks of Mesquite and Barbara Ann Ivey of Plano; a brother, Louis Quisenberry of Irving; a sister, Ida Fay Money of Mexico, Mo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are Brad Alexander, Steve Alexander, Hank Quisenberry, Larry Flournoy, Joe Moore and Clyde Lane.

Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

David Reynolds

David Lee Reynolds, 45, of Campbell died Saturday at his residence. Private graveside services with his brother, Michael Reynolds, officiating were at Prairie Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Mr. Reynolds was born Sept. 25, 1953 in Greenville; the son of Royce Guy and Bettilee Brent Reynolds. He married Vicki Cox on July 11, 1972, in Fort Worth. He was employed by R&M Vending.

Surviving are his wife of Campbell; mother; son, David Reynolds Jr. of Greenville; daughter, Angela St. Mars of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Michael Reynolds of Campbell; grandson, Ryan Reynolds; niece, Emily Reynolds and nephew, Chris Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 15, 1990.

Pallbearers were Steve Brock, Steve Newman, Tim Drake, Chris Reynolds, Paul Smith and Holly Cox.

Erma Smith

LEONARD - Funeral services for Mrs. Erma Geraldine Smith, 76, of Celeste will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Rev. James Ralson officiating. Burial is in the Celeste Cemetery.

She died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.

Born April 16, 1922 in Celeste, she was the daughter of James Leroy Ethridge and Ella Mae Jones Ethridge. She married B.V. "Cap" Smith on March 17, 1942 in Celeste.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Celeste and was a retired nurse's aid.

Surviving are her husband of Celeste; daughter Judy Creed of Wolfe City; son Jackie Smith of Garland; a sister, Jeannie Jenkins of Celeste; brothers, Bill Ethridge of Greenville and Bob Ethridge of Gordonville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Troy Shelton, Don Soles, Cary Sanders, Jeff Garcia, Jason Creed and Michael Smith.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Juanita Wilson

CADDO MILLS - Juanita Wyvonne Witty Wilson of Garland died Sunday at her residence. There is a graveside service today at 2 p.m. at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Milton McManus officiating.

Born in Burkett on Feb. 24, 1928, she was the daughter of Kenneth Wiley Witty and Bertha Francis Lewis Witty. She worked as a day care provider.

Surviving are daughters Patricia Wilson, Kathryn Wilson and Darlene Clark of Garland and Ann Tucker of Richardson; a son, Tommy Carty; three sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rentfrow Funeral Home of Caddo Mills is in charge of arrangements.

G.A. Cooke

EMORY - G.A. "Aaron" Cooke, 76, of Emory died Sunday in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial is in Emory City Cemetery.

Mr. Cooke was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Rains County; the son of Irvin and Lavanna Potts Cooke. He married Derohn Osborn on August 22, 1943, in Rains County.

He was a retired Texas Highway Department employee, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Emory Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Emory; son, Tommy Cooke of Emory; daughter, Diane McCarty of Ector; brother, Thurman Cooke of Emory; sister, Thelma Smith of Emory; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Todd Cooke, Shannon Cooke, Bobby Watson, Chris Fletcher, Randy Davis and Chad Davis.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Quitaque Metheny

Quitaque Belle Metheny, 88, of Dallas died Friday at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services were Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Chapel with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Burial was in McWright Cemetery.

Mrs. Metheny was born August 27, 1910, in McLennan County; the daughter of Robert Lee and Sophia Belle Jacobs. She was a retired dress maker and a member of the Sunset Church of God in Dallas.

Surviving are a son, Willard Metheny of Quinlan; sisters, Annie Rayburn and Nellie Parrish, both of Greenville, and Pearl Shelton of Friona; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973 and daughter, Myrna Truelove, in 1996.

Pallbearers were Clay Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Kurtis MacDonnell, Beau MacDonnell, Rex Shelton and Dennis Johnson.

David Reynolds

David Lee Reynolds, 45, of Campbell died Saturday at his residence. Private graveside services with his brother, Michael Reynolds, officiating were at Prairie Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Arthur Childs

Arthur D, Childs, 77, of Greenville died Monday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Living God with Rev. Merle Jones officiating. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery.

Mr. Childs was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Sherman; the son of King and Lula Adams Childs. He was a member of the Church of the Living God.

Surviving are his wife, Novil Davis Childs, of Greenville; daughters, Annetta Wright of Garland and Wilma Childs of Dallas; brother, Nathaniel Childs of Dallas; sister, Martha Hall of Dallas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Louise King of Dallas.

Grundy Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Joe McDonald

QUINLAN - Joe McDonald, 51, of Mount Enterprize died Tuesday. No services are planned.

Born Sept. 9, 1947 in Silver City, N.M., he was the son of Joseph and Melvina Wiseman McDonald. Mr. McDonald was a plumber.

Surviving are his mother, Melvina Wiseman of Quinlan; three sons, Lawerance McDonald of Moriarty, N.M., and Jimmy McDonald and Freddy McDonald of Texas; four daughters, Easter McDonald and Julie McDonald of Texas and Sophia McDonald and JoAnn McDonald of Moriarty, N.M.; three brothers, Fred McDonald of Quinlan and Butch McDonald and Robert McDonald of Moriarty, N.M.; a sister, Anglia Sue McDonald of Moriarty, N.M. and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, a granddaughter and a sister.

Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billie Milton

WOLFE CITY - Billie Louise Milton of Wolfe City died Tuesday at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Riley Hamilton and Rev. Eldon Chester officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The daughter of Silas E. and Minnie Belle Smith Yarbrough, she was born Sept. 11, 1923 in the Hickory Creek community near Wolfe City. She married Johnnie Lee Milton on Sept. 27, 1942 in Leonard.

Mrs. Milton had worked at Wal-Mart for the last five years and she worked with the United Way of Hunt County for several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City.

Surviving are four sons and their families, Larry and Linda Milton and Lance, Jennifer and Julie of Greenville, William Everett Milton of Dallas, Joe Gay and Kathy Milton and John Thomas of Honey Grove and Marc and Karen Atkins-Milton and John Michael, Justin, Malia, Kara and Wayne Wilson of Greenville; a sister, Nancy Joe Haywood of Wolfe City; a brother-in-law and wife, Reuben and Frances Milton of Wolfe City and one cousin and husband, Jean Laverne and Louie Gene Monroe of Wolfe City.

Pallbearers are Bobby Joe Crosby, J.T. Woodruff, Bobby Owens, Ray Malone, Sam Marshall, Bernard Clayton, Jerry Pack and Dwight Gardner. Leon Denney, Hal Mullins and Bethel Henslee will serve as honorary pallbearers.

R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

William Stickles

CADDO MILLS - William Sterling Stickles, 68, of Greenville died Monday. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel.

Born June 25, 1930 in Fort Worth, he was the son of E.W. Stickles and Anna Hickman Stickles. He married Muriel Billingsley on Jan. 31, 1974 in Corsicana. He was the owner of Wild Bill's.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; sons, Lamont, Sterling and Lewis, Anthony and Michael; daughters Rachael Kemp of Greenville and Vickie Parnell of Terrell; a brother, Billy J. Stickles of Grand Prairie; sisters, Glenda Ann, Doris and Mary and 12 grandchildren.

'Cade' Humphries

COMMERCE - Riley "Cade" Humphries, 4 months, died Tuesday. Funeral services are at the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Shiloh Cemetery in Klondike.

He was born Dec. 18, 1998 in Greenville to Jake Humphries and Marie Jones.

Surviving are his parents of Commerce; a sister, Brittney Gail Humphries of Rockwall; grandparents Danny and Bobbye Humphries of Commerce, Sue Jones of Como and Joe Jones of Canton and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home of Commerce.

Gerardo Landin

Gerardo Salomon Landin, 29, of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Celaya Municipal Cemetery.

Born Jan. 30, 1970 in Celaya GTO, Mexico, he was the son of Francisco Landin and Margarita Salomon Landin. On May 13, 1989, he married Maria Elena Mendoza in Celaya GTO.

Mr. Landin was employed by Two Senoritas Restaurant. He was a Catholic.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville and his parents of Mexico.

Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billie Martin
