Edith Sanderson

Edith June Sanderson, 65, of Greenville died Monday at Compass Hospital in DeSoto. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Langford officiating. Burial is in South Park Cemetery in Pearland at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Born March 13, 1934 in San Benito, she was the daughter of Claud R. Richardson and Eula M. Price Richardson. She was a retired waitress.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Henry West

Henry A. "Buster" West, 80, of Greenville died Monday at his residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Blue, Rev. Glenn Cook and Raymond Turner officiating. There is a Masonic and I.O.O.F. graveside service at Memoryland Memorial Park.

The son of Charlie E. and Alice Wall West, he was born Nov. 5, 1918 in Wolfe Creek Community, Hunt County. On July 7, 1945 he married Annie Mae White in Dallas.

Mr. West served in the U.S. Army, 36th Division, 111th Engineers during World War II. He retired from Lone Star Gas Company with 32 years' service. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church, Oddfellows, Mason, DAV, American Legion, VFW and Scottish Rite.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a daughter, Janice Marie West of Arlington; a sister, Corene Somers of Greenville; sister-in-law Laura West of Buffalo and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Lillie Acord West; brothers C.W. "Bill" and Herbert West; a son, W.E. West; grandson Sean West and a sister, Lillie Duball.

Pallbearers are Charley Joe Williams, Clifton Cates, Bill Cleveland, Leo Brown, Lee Furry and John Paul Willaby. Honorary pallbearers are James Wall, Jack Wall, Jimmy Sorrell, E.B. Sorrell Jr., Jimmy Clark, Noble Ketchum, Dan Wall, Ross McClain, John McRoy, Cecil Clark, Ronnie Anderson, D.A.V. Chapter 81, The American Legion and the VFW.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dwayne Bankston

SULPHUR SPRINGS ­ Funeral services for Dwayne Bankston, 62, of Ladonia are at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Ladonia with Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial is in Ladonia City Cemetery.

He died Sunday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bankston was born on Jan 30, 1937 to Clyde H. and Anna Bell Felmet Bankston. He married Fayra Samuel on June 9, 1956 in Ladonia.

Mr. Bankston was a former restaurant owner and a former Fannin County Justice of Peace.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Shannon Bankston of Ladonia; two daughters, Alisa Tucker and Paula Thomas, both of Ladonia; stepmother Irene Bankston of Dodd City; three brothers, James H. Bankston of Bonham, Clyde Alton Bankston of Denison and Bobby Bankston of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Francis Briscoe of Durant, Okla., Vera Rush of Euless and Linda Lowe of Irving; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1954 and his father in 1998.

Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Buster Fleming

EMORY ­ Buster Fleming, 86, of Emory died Saturday at his home. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. David Diller officiating. Burial is in Emory City Cemetery.

Mr. Fleming was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Rains County; the son of Hamp and Zolla Flemmons Fleming. He was married on Feb. 22, 1941, in Richland Center, Wis. to Nona Ethel Chitwood.

Mr. Fleming was a retired school teacher and U.S. Post Office Department employee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; having served in World War II. He was a Methodist and a member of the Mars Hill Lodge and Emory Lions Club.

Surviving are sons, James Fleming of Highland Village and Dennis Fleming of Emory; daughters, Marlene Nelson of Winter Haven, Fla. and Joan Tepley of Racine, Wis.; brother, Joe Ben Fleming of Paris, Texas; sister, Magdalene Wright of Emory; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 22, 1992; daughter, Marion Ramsey; and two grandsons.

Pallbearers are L.M. Braziel, J.J. Jenkins, Floyd Greene, Tom Dahl, Steve Melton and James Fleming. Floyd Hamilton will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Memorials may be made to the Emory United Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

Cleatis Hudson

LEONARD ­ A funeral service for Cleatis Hudson, 87, of Celeste will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church of Celeste with Rev. Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park, Greenville.

Mrs. Hudson died Monday at Leonard Nursing Home.

She was born April 12, 1912. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Celeste and she was a homemaker.

Surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home of Leonard.

Mickey Miller

TERRELL ­ Mickey E. Miller of Garland died in a Dallas hospital Saturday. There is a graveside service at 4 p.m. today at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney with Rev. Calvin Morgan officiating.

Born in Dallas on Aug. 1, 1960, he was the son of E.C. Miller and Mildred Lackey Miller. He lived most of his life in Forney prior to moving to Garland eight years ago. He was employed in construction.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Mildred and Willie Gowin; daughter Andrea Miller of Caddo Mills; six brothers, Dewey Miller Sr. of Sacul, James Miller of Southlake, Wayne Miller of Van and Rickey Miller, Willie Miller and David Miller, all of Forney and three sisters, Lou Edith Miller of Mesquite, Linda Duggan of Forney and Novis White of Sacul.

His father preceded him in death.

Goggans Funeral Home of Terrell is in charge of arrangements.

Martha Plunkett

LONE OAK ­ Martha Plunkett, 70, of East Tawakoni died Sunday at Baylor Medical Center. Funeral services are at Community Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Eugene Green officiating. Burial is in Cumby Cemetery.

Born Jan. 19, 1929 in Dallas, she was the daughter of Oscar and Gladys Lewis Grimes. She was a typesetter.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, L.A. Plunkett; a son, Ronnie Plunkett of West Tawakoni; three brothers, Leonard Grimes of Thcall, Donald Grimes of Dallas and Glen Grimes of Grapevine; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia Hill; a brother, James Grimes and a sister, Evelyn Morris.

Pallbearers are Dale Petty, Dane Petty, Robbie Plunkett, Robbie Lynn Plunkett, E.A. Junell and Gordon Belt.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home in Lone Oak.

Dorothy Samuelson

QUINLAN ­ Dorothy F. Samuelson, 74, of Quinlan, died Sunday at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Marton officiating. Burial is in Lakeside Memorial Park.

Born April 26, 1925 in Quinlan, she was the daughter of Marvin and Mary Alice Keathy Watson.

Mrs. Samuelson was a retired insurance secretary.

Surviving are her husband, Harold Albert Samuelson of Quinlan; three daughters, Linda L. Feaster of California, Susan M. McBride of Midland and Julie R. Barnes of McKinney; a sister, Christine W. Caldwell of Quinlan and three grandchildren.

Charles Steele

CADDO MILLS ­ Charles "Sonny" Walter Steele, 53, of Plano died Friday at his residence. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. today at Triple S. Burial Park in Quinlan. Rev. Ken Smith will officiate.

The son of Charles Quinton Steele and Gladys Price Steele, he was born March 15, 1946 in Springfield, Ill.

Mr. Steele served in the Marines in Vietnam. He was a master plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Emily L. Steele of Quinlan; a son, Harold Baxley of Celeste; a daughter, Emily F. Dolly of Quinlan; a sister, Sandra Roy of Dallas and six grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

James M. Rentfrow Funeral of Caddo Mills is in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Tucker

WOLFE CITY ­ Daisy Lee Tucker, 64, of Wolfe City died Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital in Paris, Texas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell.

Mrs. Tucker was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Campbell; the daughter of Stansel Tully and Iva Morgan Israel. She was married to Grady Tucker on June 5, 1961, in Commerce.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Surviving are sons William Tucker, Marcus Tucker, Greg Tucker, Phillip Humphries and Jerry Humphries, all of Wolfe City;, Lewis Tucker of Greenville and Robert Humphries of Quinlan; three daughters, Louann Jones and Debbie Helms, both of Greenville; and Joy Tucker of Wolfe City; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and one son.

Buster Fleming

EMORY - Buster Fleming, 86, of Emory died Saturday at his home. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. David Diller officiating. Burial is in Emory City Cemetery.

Troy Neal

EMORY - Troy C. Neal, 75, of Lone Oak died Saturday at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emory Baptist Church with David Davis and Dr. L.C. Jones officiating. Burial is in Hooker Cemetery.

Mr. Neal was born April 10, 1924, in Hunt County; the son of Archie H. and Esslie Mae Oler Neal. He married Mary Gaston on March 4, 1986, in Rains County.

Mr. Neal was a retired dairyman and a deacon at Emory Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; having served in World War II.

Surviving are his wife of Lone Oak; sons, Cliff Neal and Larry Neal, both of Saltillo, Tommy Neal of Pickton, Michael Newby and John Neal, both of Lone Oak, and Matthew Newby of Point; daughter, Donna Chester of Dallas; three brothers; seven sisters; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Raymond Hunt, Tony Pennington, Chad Neal, Mark Neal and Richard Dalby.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Daisey Tucker

WOLFE CITY - Daisey Lee Tucker, 64, of Wolfe City died Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital in Paris, Texas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Brigham Cemetery in Commerce.

Mrs. Tucker was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Campbell; the daughter of Stansel and I va Isreal Tully. She was married to Grady Tucker on June 5, 1961, in Commerce.

Viola Allen

BLUE RIDGE - Viola Aline Allen, 82, died Thursday at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge with Rev. Miller McClure officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Chapel Cemetery, McKinney.

Daughter of James Dahl and Mary Elizabeth Scalf Peters, she was born Feb. 16, 1917 in McKinney. On Sept. 16, 1937 she married Leonard A. Allen in Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Ray and Lynn Allen of Tuscon, Ariz.; three sisters, Dorothy Meeks of Dallas, Mary Orr of Lewisville and Lucille Boydston of Dallas; a brother, J.D. Peters of Lewisville; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Blue Ridge.

Bernice Owens

Bernice Charlie Owens of Quinlan died Friday in Rockwall. Services are at 3 p.m. today at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie King officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park.

Born April 23, 1943 in San Angelo, she was the daughter of James Bailey and Billie Louise Tolliver James. She worked in electrical assembly.

She is survived by a brother, Stan James of San Angelo and two sisters, Billie Lusk of San Angelo and Linda Hillgartner of Rockwall.

Dean Carpenter

Dean Carpenter of Greenville died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He was 59.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Beal and Rev. Rick Blue officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.

He was born in Tulare, Calif., on July 27, 1940, to Corbett and Earline Pettitt Carpenter. He was a United States Navy Veteran and was store manager of O'Reilly Auto Parts in Garland. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church.

Survivng are his wife Kathryn of Greenville; daughters Shannon Johnson of Denton and Michelle Beal of Greenville; a sister, Jo Lynn O'Bannon of Porterville, Calif., and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Carpenter.

Pallbearers will be Jim Beal Caryn Johnson, Dwight Garris, John Muth, Viviano Gonzales III and Lell Alvarado.
