Juadeen d'Miller

COMMERCE ­ Juadeen d'Miller, 86, of Commerce died Wednesday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley McCasland officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery, Greenville.

The daughter of John W. Damron and Lorene Buie, she was born May 28, 1913 in Quinlan. She graduated from Quinlan High School in 1929. She attended the University of Colorado and received her bachelor degree in education from East Texas State University, Commerce in 1933.

On Aug. 20, 1937 she married J.P. "Jake" Miller in Quinlan and moved to Commerce.

Mrs. d'Miller taught elementary school and business English in the Dallas Independent School District. She was also employed by B. Altman Company in New York where she sold furs and modeled.

Mrs. d'Miller was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Doug Rawlins Sunday School Class, Retired Teachers Association and a charter member of the Afflatus Club.

Her husband survives.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, James Cecil Miller; a sister Alarine d'Talbert in May 1999; and an uncle.

Pallbearers are Mike Rainbolt, Jake Rainbolt, David Moody, Clifton Haddock, Marion Ainsworth, Richard Hill and Bruce Hineman. Honorary pallbearers are James Bradford, Ben Laws Jr., Norman Messick, Linda Chaney, Brenda Walker, Bob Young and Ted Paulk.

Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Homer Hicks

FORT WORTH ­ Homer Dana Hicks, 70, of Fort Worth died Tuesday. Funeral services are at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 3100 White Settlement, with Rev. Ronald Vallet officiating. Burial is in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

He was born Oct. 22, 1928 in Lone Oak to Homer Payne Hicks and Pearl V. Griffin. Mr. Hicks was a retired salesman.

He was a member of South Hills Masonic Lodge 1389. Mr. Hicks was an instructor of Masons and received a lifetime membership. He received the Golden Trowel Award.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Nola Hicks of Fort Worth; sons Franks Hicks and wife Betty of Crowley and Howard Hicks of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law Dana and Jimmy Hasting of Spring; a brother, Jack K. Hicks of Lakeland, Fla.; sister Pansy Crow of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Tammy McDaniel, Tim Hicks and wife Christie, Nickole Hasting, Brian F. Hicks and Andrew Hasting; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Connor Hicks and special friend Sonny Tull of Fort Worth.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are Sonny Tull, nephew Tom Crow, nephew Derrell Fox and grandsons Tim Hicks, Brian Hicks and Andrew Hasting.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clarence Long

Clarence "Cal" Long, 75, of Greenville died Tuesday in Medical Center of Plano. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Celeste Cemetery with Father Antonio Diez officiating.

Mr. Long was born March 27, 1924, in Dover Foxcroft, Maine. He married Majorie Barnes on Sept. 15, 1961, in the Philippine Islands.

Mr. Long was a machinist for Fisher Controls and a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the Princeton VFW and the Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; sons, Gregory Jucha of Atlanta, Ga., Scott Jucha of Los Angeles, Calif., Brett Jucha of McKinney and Barry Jucha of Celeste; daughter, Jan Hamilton of Conroe; brothers, Ralph Long of Florida and David Long of Dover Foxcroft; sister, Rita Long of Dover Foxcroft; grandchildren, Jake Jucha, Bradley Jucha and Shannon Jackson; and great-grandchild, Russell Jackson.

Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the World War II Memorial Fund in Washington.

Velma Brandenburg

FARMERSVILLE ­ Velma Earnestine Brandenburg, 96, of Farmersville died Monday. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. today at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas with Rev. Ed Cole officiating.

She was born Aug. 12, 1903 in Farmersville to Frank and Mary Elizabeth Harris Trimble. She married Francis Brandenburg and was a homemaker. Mrs. Brandenburg was a member of Cockrell Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters Carolyn Hinton of McKinney and Mary Milburn of Benbrook; a sister, Clara Foley of Farmersville; a brother, Joe Trimble of Dallas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville is in charge of arrangements.

Maude Graves

WOLFE CITY ­ Maude Graves, 92, of Wolfe City died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following a short illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Wyndell Presley officiating. Burial is in Van Sickle Cemetery in the Van Sickle Community.

The daughter of James Boyce and Ella Wallace Boyce, she was born Sept. 21, 1907 in the Van Sickle Community in Hunt County. On April 12, 1925, she married Drannon Graves.

Mrs. Graves retired from Henington Publishing Company. She was a member of West Main Church of Christ in Wolfe City.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Weston and Trudy Graves of Greenville; son Sammy Graves of Austin; five daughters and sons-in-law, Maudine and Kenneth Doyle of Fort Worth, Carlyn and Bob Bain of Lewisville, Joann and Don Sprinkle of Greenville, Betty and Doland Tingle of Mesquite and Mary and Milford Mach of Fort Worth; two sisters, Nancy Williams and Cora Cannon, both of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Chalin Graves; daughter, Monette Graves; four brothers; four sisters; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Grandsons are pallbearers.

Bernard Malone

KERRVILLE ­ Bernard T. "Bernie" Malone, 79, of Fredericksburg died Monday in a Kerrville hospital. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.

He was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Kansas City, Mo. to James and Pauline Amundsen Malone. On April 8, 1950 he married Margaret Handley in Greenville. He served in the United Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Malone was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lubbock. He was a golfer and a member of the Square Dancers, Merry Mixers and Happy Hearts.

He is survived by his wife of Fredericksburg; three sons, Tom Malone of San Antonio, Donny Malone of Temple and Pat Malone of Flower Mound and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.

James Robinson

James C. "Jake" Robinson of Greenville died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.

Born April 2, 1916 in Greenville, he was the son of Pete and Jenny Yeary Robinson. On Dec. 19, 1958 he married Dorothy Lee Dearing in Greenville.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a training sergeant stationed in California, Florida and Mississippi. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Robinson was Director of Public Services for the City of Greenville from April 1, 1946 to April 12, 1976. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Jenny Robinson and Alan Johns of Fort Worth and Jerry Lee and Keith Bonham of Rowlett; son and daughter-in-law John and Renee Lee of DeSoto; grandchildren, Collin Wade, Connor Wade, Amy Lee Isuani and husband Marc, Jason Lee and wife Lisa, Julie Johns and Jessica Johns; one great-grandchild, Logan Lee; sister-in-law Elaine Robinson and brother-in-law and wife Neel and Alice Dearing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred, Vernon, Malcolm and Wesley Robinson and a sister, Gladys.

Pallbearers aree Collin Wade, Connor Wade, Jason Lee, Marc Isuani, Keith Bonham and John Lee.

Visitation is one hour preceding the funeral service.

Forrest Sheely

COMMERCE ­ Forrest Williams "Bill" Sheely of Commerce died Monday. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.

Born Sept. 17, 1937 in Dallas, he was the son of Forrest L. Sheely and Mary Medina Williams. He was a lifetime resident of Commerce and graduated from Commerce High School in 1956. He was attended Paris Junior College and East Texas State University. He was a member of the ETSU marching band.

Mr. Sheely was a former employee of Henington Publishing Company in Wolfe City and American Wood in Commerce.

He at one time owned a co-cart track and a slot car racing track in Greenville and a record shop in Commerce. He assisted his parents in the Sheely-Goff Funeral Home in Commerce.

Surviving are sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Buddy Jones of Commerce; an aunt and several cousins; one nephew, Forrest Jones of Pearless; a niece, Sheely Jones Taylor of Destin, Fla.; a great-niece, Lexi Taylor and a great-nephew Sean Taylor.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are Daniel McCarty, Joey Adams, Forrest Jones, Scott Chaney, W.D. Graham and Troy Jones.

Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Billy Woodard

SULPHUR SPRINGS ­ Billy Ray "Biz" Woodard, 72, of Cumby died Monday at the Sulphur Springs Nursing Home. Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Davis and Rev. Bobby Keller officiating. Burial is in Brashear Cemetery.

Mr. Woodard was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Hopkins County; the son of Willie and Zelma Mann Woodard. He married Joyce Hatley in February, 1968, in Sulphur Springs.

He was a World War II veteran and and had worked as an E-Systems security guard for more than 32 years before his retirement.

Surviving are his wife of Cumby; daughters, Sandra Winchester of Brashear and Linda Garrettson of Cumby; one brother, L.D. Woodard of Sulphur Springs; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are James Mitchell, Jack Smith, Gene George, Olin Gillian, Bill McGinness and Grandy Latimeer. Honorary pallbearers are E-Systems security guards.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anne Baldridge

Anne F. Baldridge, 72, of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Baldridge and Rev. Stephen Hammond officiating. Burial is in Etter Lake Cemetery.

The daughter of John Claud Bowers and Eva Jane Combs Bowers, she was born March 2, 1927 in Greenville. Mrs. Baldridge was a Baptist.

She is survived by sons, John Baldridge of Tyler, James Baldridge of Fort Worth and Junior Baldridge of Greenville; daughters, Carolyn Ray of Ore City, Dianne Noble of Big Spring, Donna Baldridge of Arlington, Cheri Penny of Caddo Mills, Delores Hammond of Arlington, Dorothy Mannefeld of Plano and Denise Benson of Greenville; three brothers, Mack Bowers, Lawrence Bowers and David Bowers; two sisters, Ellen Crisp and Maggie Massey; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are grandsons Kenneth Noble, John Baldridge Jr., James Baldridge, Kevin Hammond, Robert Baldridge, Michael Hammond, Stephen Hammond and Matthew Baldridge.

James Duncan

LUBBOCK ­ Funeral services for James Larry Duncan of Lubbock, formerly of Greenville, are today at Rest Haven in Lubbock. Burial is in Rest Haven. He died Sunday.

Born in 1933 in Greenville, he was the son of S.R. Duncan and Bonnie Lowe Duncan. He attended Greenville High School until his family moved to Lubbock. Mr. Duncan owned and operated a commercial concrete company.

Surviving are his wife, Tommie Sue Wilson Duncan of Lubbock; two children, Steven Duncan and Angie Hester of Lubbock; his mother of Lubbock and a sister, Doris Stalcup of Lubbock. He was the nephew of Beulah Reynolds, Thelma Erwin and Bill Duncan, all of Greenville.

Maude Graves

WOLFE CITY ­ Maude Graves, 92, of Wolfe City died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following a short illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Wyndell Presley officiating. Burial is in Van Sickle Cemetery in the Van Sickle Community.

Rubye McDonald

COMMERCE ­ Rubye M. McDonald, 71, of Commerce died Saturday at Smith Nursing Home in Wolfe City. There is a graveside service today at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Klondike with Rev. Danny Davis officiating.

She was born June 25, 1928 in Como, Hopkins County, to C. Wesley Weatherbee and Pearley Grimmett Weatherbee. She married Leon McDonald on Dec. 12,1969 in Dallas.

Mrs. McDonald was the manager of an apartment complex in Commerce. She was a Congregational Methodist.

Surviving are nieces Rhynda "Kay" Peterson and husband Dan of Kansas City, Mo., Mary Stribling and husband Tom of Austin and Sandy Strole and husband Owen of Toledo, Ohio; nephews Ron Brewer of Sacramento, Calif., Bryan Brewer of Southern California, Jimmy Weatherbee of Toledo, Ohio, Wayne Weatherbee and wife Phyllis of Toledo, Ohio and Michael Weatherbee and wife Linda of Bowling Green, Ohio; several grandnieces and nephews and special friend, Sam Henin of Commerce.

Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1990.

Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Mack

QUINLAN ­ Mary Ann Mack, 79, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. There is a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Simmons Cemetery in Cash.

She was the daughter of Turner and Maggie Sexton Barrington, born Dec. 7, 1919 in Mindon, La. Mrs. Mack was a housewife.

She is survived by a son, Don Mack of Greenville; a sister, Lois Underwood of Greenville; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Mack, in 1976; two sons, Douglas Mack in 1986 and Jerry Mack in 1999 and a sister, Pauline Coker in 1998.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home.

Billy Parker

Billy D. Parker, 78, of Greenville died Sunday at Greencrest Manor Nursing Home. There is a memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with pastor W.M. Clayton McCord officiating.

The son of Will Parker and Anna Hansen Parker, he was born Oct. 30, 1920 in Dallas. On Sept. 8, 1977 he married Pat Vaughan in Dallas.

Mr. Parker was a lieutenant MSMC veteran serving during World War II and was active in the Reserves until 1956 when he was discharged as a captain.

Mr. Parker was president and CEO of Bosco Fastening and Service Center. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a Rotarian for 35 years.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Seth and Ellen Parker of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Bruce Darling of Tustin, Calif. and Karen and Stan Sikorski of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters Dona Vahrenkamp of Arkansas and Pauline Walton and Anna Marie Sherrin of Dallas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen Sorensen and Doris Sorensen.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Association.

Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
