She was born December 23, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas the daughter of James Purvis and Charlene Alsbrooks and passed away on August 19, 2011 in San Augustine, Texas.

Lee Nan is survived by Milton and Carla Purvis, Brother & Sister In-Law of Corrigan, Molly Locke, Aunt of Corrigan, Johnnie Byrd Thomas, Aunt of Corrigan, Mary Alice and Billy Fisher, Aunt & Uncle of Corrigan, Sandra Ann Sailor, Aunt of Corrigan, Cleo “Pee Wee” Purvis, Uncle of Corrigan, John Paul and Jan Purvis, Uncle & Aunt of Corrigan. She was born August 7, 1956 in Spring Branch Texas the daughter of Dreabon and Bernice Branch and passed away on August 5, 2011 in Batesville, Arkansas.

Barbara is survived by Calvin “Jerry” Staffa II, Husband of Southside, Arkansas, Calvin Jerry “C.J” Staffa III, Son of Batesville, Arkansas, Aimee Leighanne Arnett, Daughter of Hudgens, Texas, Angela Victoria Stewart, Daughter of Livingston, Texas, Airial Elizabeth Ashley, Daughter of Batesville, Arkansas, Dreabon and Bernice Branch, Her parents of Bedias, Texas, one brother, one sister, Maryanne Flowers of Livingston, Texas and two other sisters, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Edward O’Neal Davis

Edward O’Neal Davis, 91, was born in Nogalus Prairie, TX October 9, 1919 to Jesse and Ola Dee Davis and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2009. E.O. enjoyed gardening and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife Flossie; daughters, Ella Faye Napoleon, Nelline Strange, Diane Mansel; sisters, Gertie Jones, Delma Barr and Dorothy Brittingham; grandchildren, Chad Mansel, Charlotte Mallory, Teresa Stewart, numerous relatives and many friends. E. O. is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jesse Ray Davis, sister Hattie Faussett and grandson Jesse Stewart. The family received friends from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Friendship Harbor Church in Trinity, TX. The Celebration of Life was held at Friendship Harbor Church in Trinity, TX on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10 AM with Rev. John Budd and Rev. Reagan Duncan officiating. Burial to follow in Chita Cemetery.

She was born January 17, 1947 in Bowie, Texas the daughter of Arthur Freeman Lain and Helen Winona Childs Lain and passed away on August 14, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by parents, Arthur Freeman Lain and Helen Winona Childs Lain, and sisters, Dorothy Sue Lain and Linda Jean Prater.

Judy is survived by Tina Adams, daughter, of Belton, Texas, Rodney Kennedy, son, of Beaumont, Texas, Ronald Kennedy, son, of White Deer, Pennsylvania, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, Millard Lain, of Livingston, Texas. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Interment will follow in the Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation is Friday evening from 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM at her residence in Livingston, Texas.

She was born February 14, 1934 in Elton, Louisiana the daughter of Martin Abbey and Sarah Battise Abbey and passed away on August 10, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by parents, Martin Abbey and Sarah Battise Abbey, son, Gregory Sylestine, brothers, Edward Abbey, Roy Abbey, Wilburn Abbey and sisters, Adeline Battise, Lucille Alexander, Ina Maldonado, Cora Abbey, and Stella Abbey.

Leona is survived by Clem Sylestine, husband, of Livingston, Texas, Pam Anderson, daughter, of Houston, Texas, grandchildren, Elizabeth Sylestine of Houston, Texas, Raymond Anderson of Houston, Texas, great grandchildren, Benjamin Anderson of Houston, Texas, Morgan Anderson of Houston, Texas, Aiden Anderson of Houston, Texas, and Laine Sylestine of Houston, Texas. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

William Charles Chandler

Funeral Services for William Charles Chandler, 67, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Ralph Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Mr. Chandler was born on June 14, 1944 in Livingston, Texas and passed away on August 10, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. He was a welder for Damascus Machinery and a Pentecostal by faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and also gardening. When it came to baseball, he was Corrigan’s best fan and he thought family was the absolute best. He was known in the community for being a hard worker and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Wilford and Dorothy Alice (Gossett) Chandler, and daughter, Stacie Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Frances Janette (Longino) Chandler of Corrigan, Texas; son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Kelly Chandler of Corrigan, Texas; daughter and son-in-law: Charlotte and Tommy Mrazik of Corrigan, Texas; brother-in-law and wife: Richard and Dorothy Longino of Coushatta, Louisiana; grandchildren: Kyle Chandler of Corrigan, Texas, Josh Mrazik of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Heather Mrazik of Corrigan, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Kyle Chandler, Tracy Gossett, Bush Smitherman, Jason Lawson, Tom Mrazik, Josh Mrazik, Justin Hudspeth.

He was born April 30, 1938 in Angelina County, Texas the son of Sam Luce and Lola Bell Stephens Luce and passed away on August 7, 2011. He is preceded in death by parents, Sam Luce and Lola Bell Stephens Luce, and sister, Doris Nell Martin.

Funeral services for Miriam S. Lockhart, 91, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Ralph Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Lockhart was born June 29, 1920 in Carmona, Texas and passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Corrigan, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corrigan and a faithful member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was employed for numerous years by the United States Postal Service as a clerk at the Carmona Post Office. She also enjoyed her time as an election worker for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence Sailor and Faye (Whitter) Sailor; sister: Barbara Ann Cross; brothers: Jimmy Sailor, and Sam Sailor.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years: Thomas Lockhart of Corrigan, Texas; son: James Thomas Lockhart of Corrigan, Texas; daughter: Mila Banville of Pasadena, Texas; brother-in-law: Glenn Cross of Crockett, Texas; sister-in-law: Opal Sailor of Pasadena, Texas; 2 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Melanie Kay Patterson

Melanie Kay Patterson, 47, born April 16, 1964 in Lufkin, Texas to Wayne and Ruth Patterson, went home to her Heavenly Father on August 2, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. After attending Aldine High School, Melanie worked for 23 years in the county Clerk’s office in Harris County, Texas before moving to Livingston in 2005.

She is survived by her parents; sisters, Deana Forrester, spouse Randy and Patti Kozole, spouse Mike; nieces, Misty Patterson Hilliard, spouse Chris and Becky Forrester and nephew; Nick Kozole; great-nieces, Emma, Valerie and Kaley, and numerous relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held Sunday, 2:00 PM, August 7, 2011, at Pace Funeral Home.

Mary Louise Cleveland

She was born June 2, 1936 in Shepherd, Texas the daughter of Lee Hoot and Lula Mae Jones and passed away on August 6, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Louise Lindsey, age 89 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Houston. Mrs. Lindsey was born in Barnam, Texas on July 28, 1922 to parents Carroll D. and Mary Fortune who preceded her in death along with her husband, Wilson Brooks; sisters, Loyce Jo Siegel and husband, Sam, Sadie Elmore and husband, William; and her nephew, Harry Siegel.

Survivors include her nieces, Olivia Elmore and husband, Ronney, Regina Kresta and husband, Larry; nephews, Joe Knox and wife, Jenny, Gary Knox and wife, Vicky, Ben Siegel, David Elmore and wife, Peggy; numerous other loving and caring family members and faithful friends.

Bro. George Hayden presided over graveside services held Saturday, August 6, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
