Funeral Services for James Arthur Deggs, 78, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Steve Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

James Arthur Deggs was born November 4, 1932, in Pluck, Texas, and passed away in Lufkin, Texas on November 2, 2011. He was a lifelong resident of Polk County. He was a 1953 graduate of Corrigan High School. He worked at East Texas Construction Material Company and retired from Parrish Lumber Company. He was a very hard worker and dearly loved his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed raising animals, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He had a strong faith in God and family.

Mr. Deggs is preceded in death by his parents: J.D. “Jim” and Nora Cherry Deggs; sisters and husbands: Gracie and Woodrow Hubbard, Allie and W.P. McClendon, Faye and Jim Norris; and brother-in-law: C.R. “Butch” Kraus. He is survived by his sister: Doris Jean Kraus of Chester, Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relative.

Pallbearers: Chris Lucas, Tyler Ogden, Hal Hubbard Jr., Ryan Burris, John David Risinger Jr., Hal Hubbard Sr. Honorary Pallbearers: Herbert Gassiott - cousin and best friend, John and Julia Sirman, Guy Bacon.

Funeral Services are to be held for Robert Wayne Burks on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Bro. Mitchell Murphy will conduct the service. Robert was born on May 24, 1957 in Houston, Texas, to Sandy and Dollie Williams Burks. He died on November 3, 2011, in at the age of 54. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Randy Burks, sister, Debbie Sackett and step-mother, Jean Burks. Robert is survived by his wife, Amanda Burks of Shepherd, daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Travis Henshall of Cosby, Texas, sons, Justin Santos and Josh Copeland of Shepherd, Texas and daughter, Amy Copeland of Shepherd, two sisters and one brother, Sheila Parr, Jay Burks, Mike Burks and Paula Strickland of Livingston, Texas and sister, Terri Smith of Scotland, Grandchildren, Chase Bridgeman and Ruby Cheyenne Tighe-Santos.

Christine Bowman Anglin

Funeral Services were held for Christine Bowman Anglin on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Burial was at Richland Cemetery in Richland, Texas, at 3:30. Dr. Doris Meyer and Bro. Winky Johnson conducted the services. Pallbearers were James Guy Samek, Richard Samek Cyrus Anglin, Brad Brigner, Jason Greenhaw and John Thompson. She was born on April 22, 1930, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Harvey and Ruby Burkhart Bowman. Mrs. Anglin died on October 31, 2011, in Tomball, Texas, at the age of 81. Mrs. Anglin was a member of First Baptist Church in Wild County. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Anglin and Larry and Karen Anglin of Rye, Texas, one daughter, Linda Anglin of Plantersville, Texas, six grandchildren, James Guy, Richard, Lori, Royce, Jr., Cyrus, and Jessica, nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, two step-sons, Danny Hilbun of Galena, Ill. and Jerry Hilbun of Houston, Tx., four daughters, Joy Tucker and husband, Donald, of Westlake La., Delores Kazee of Blaine, Ky., Susan Hodges and husband, Duanne of Ragley, La.and Connie Gordon of Kinder, La. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ruby Bowman, husband, James Neal Anglin, husband, Leroy Hilbun, son, Ricky Paul Anglin, and three sisters, Olga Mae Reynolds, Lucille Lunsford and Dorothy Bowman.

Newton George Andrews

Graveside services for Newton George Andrews, 65, of Kemp, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Charlie Hodge officiating.

Mr. Andrews was born November 5, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 in the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. He was employed as a laborer for a paper mill in Oregon for many years and was a Baptist by faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was awarded a Bronze Star and a National Defense Service Medal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius D. and Patricia M. (Bennington) Andrews.

He is survived by his wife: Lidia Andrews of Kemp, Texas; son: Jerry Andrews of San Diego, California; daughter: Pamela Andrews of Fort Worth, Texas; brother: Bobby R. Andrews of Palestine, Texas; granddaughter: Gabrielle Andrews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Iris Faye Moulder, 70, of Corrigan, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Charlie Hodge and Bro. Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Moulder was born October 30, 1940 in Camden, Texas and passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011, in a local hospital in Lufkin, Texas. She was employed for 31 years as a bookkeeper for Citizens State Bank in Corrigan, Texas and was member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and great friend to many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rex A. Moulder and parents, Johnnie J. and Violet Ray (Howell) Bryant.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Kenny and Kimberly Moulder of Lufkin, Texas, Ricky and Larena Moulder of Hudson, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Johnny and Donna Bryant of Greenville, Michigan, Bethel and Beverly Bryant of Diboll, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law: Versie and Frank Woods of Corrigan, Texas, Gladys and Larry Evans of Houston, Texas, Jan and Stan Knox of Houston, Texas, Ethel and Dale Sales of Haughton, Louisiana; grandchildren: Rachel Ann Brown and husband Trey, of Diboll, Texas, Mandy Hutchison and husband Seth of Lufkin, Texas, Sarah Ann Moulder and fiancée Cody Young, Kelsey Lynn Moulder; great grandchildren: Kynlee Rae Brown and Jasyn Wayne Hutchison, and numerous other relatives and friends.

David Frank Wright

Funeral Services are pending for David Frank Wright. He was born May 3, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to parents, Thomas Wright, Jr. and Mary Alice Brian Wright and passed away on October 26, 2011 in Houston, Texas.

He is survived by wife, Linda Jo Wright, of Livingston, son, David Wright, II of Livingston, step-son, Steven Lee Moore of Livingston, granddaughter, Ashley Allred of Montgomery, grandson and wife, Marc Lewis and Lupe of Channelview, great grandson, Xavier Lewis of Channelview, great granddaughter, Jade Lewis of Channelview, and one brother, Paul Wright of Brownsville. Kenneth Glynn James

Kenneth Glynn James was born May 23, 1940 in Daisetta, Texas, to parents, Stanley and Evelyn Collins James and passed away on October 26, 2011 in Cleveland, Texas.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kenya and Steve Ericson, of Raywood, granddaughter, Morgan Ericson of Raywood, grandson, Trey Ericson of Raywood, and one brother, Marvin Ericson of Segno, Texas. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Nancy Ann Sharkey Paterson

Nancy Ann Sharkey Paterson departed this life on December 24, 2011, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She died at home in her bed overlooking Lake Livingston and surrounded by loved ones. She was 55 years old.

Nancy was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on April 10, 1956, to parents Ann and Joseph Sharkey. She was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy in Erie, PA and later received her Master’s of Science in Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She loved to travel and spend time at the lake with family and friends, but more than anything she loved her job—teaching high school mathematics for many years in Dickinson, Texas City, Livingston, and Big Sandy Independent School Districts. Her students and fellow teachers were her second family, and they brought her boundless joy and fulfillment.

She is survived by husband Lee R. Paterson, Sr.; son William H. Rearick, daughter-in-law Katherine, and grandsons Maxwell and Samuel; son Kenneth Rearick, daughter-in-law Julie, and granddaughter Hannah; son John Paterson, daughter-in-law Lucy, and grandchildren Josh, Jarred, and Brooke; and son Lee Paterson, Jr., daughter-in-law Sonia, and grandchildren Justin, Leigha, and Thomas. Nancy is also survived by her aunt Rose Mary Ziegler; uncle Henry Kanyar and his wife Margie; brother-in law Cliff Paterson and his wife, Nancy’s sister-in-law, Barbara Paterson. The family would also like to thank Mary Dymock for her selfless compassion and enduring effort in caring for Nancy in her final weeks.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Pace Funeral Home, 200 FM 350 North, Livingston, Texas. A brief funeral mass will be held starting at 5 p.m. and visitation will resume after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Nancy’s name be made to the Nancy Paterson Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Big Sandy High School, 9180 FM 1276, Livingston, TX, 77351.

He was born December 17, 1936 in Sicily Island, Louisiana the son of Silvanus Sumrall and Sarah Nugent Sumrall and passed away December 26, 2011 in Oakhurst, Texas. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Silvanus Sumrall and Sarah Nugent Sumrall, Wife, Carmen Escalon Sumrall, Son, Corky Sumrall, Sisters, Irene Allbritton, and Lillie Mae Deville.

Clay is survived by his Daughter and Son-In-Law, Carmen and Casey Anderson of Sealy, Brother and Sister-In-Law, James and Wanda Sumrall of Tullos, Louisiana, Sister, Lottie Jordan of Urania, Louisiana, Sister and Brother-In-Law, Evelyn and Laney Lincecum of Tullos, Louisiana, Grandchildren, Alan Anderson, Karsen Anderson, Hagen Anderson, and Isabella Anderson. Memorial Services For John Edwin Younger, age 50, of Livingston, will be held at 4:30 P. M., Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Jimmie Hermes officiating.

He was born August 5, 1961 in Cleveland, Texas the son of Luby Kenneth Younger and Lola Belle Sanders and passed away December 23, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lola Belle Sanders Younger and Luby Kenneth Younger, and sister, Edith Hughes.

John is survived by his wife, Lana Younger of Livingston, Daughter, Christina Rackel of Livingston, Daughter, Diana Lewis and fiancé Fred Smith of Livingston, Father and Step-Mother, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Burnett of Goodrich, Brother and Sister-In-Law, James and Donna Thompson of Livingston, Sister and Brother-In-Law, Elane and Stanley Kimes of Goodrich, Brother-In-Law, Shorty Hughes of Livingston, Grandchildren, Robert Dobbs, Mercedes Dobbs, Tony Rackel, Tyler Lewis, and Justin Wilkinson. Beverly Jean Heflin

Graveside services will be held for Beverly Jean Heflin, age 83, of Bedias, TX at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, TX. Rev. Raymond Harrington will conduct the service. Pallbearers are Michael Disman, Abner Disman, Daniel Reider, Mark Reider, Ashlie Harrington, Kyle Harrington, Casey Crawford, Justin Guest and Jeremy Heflin.

Beverly was born on December 24, 1928, in Pilares, Mexico to parents, Alexander Fell Patterson and Mabel D. Dutcher Patterson. She passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 24, 2011 in Madisonville, TX. Beverly was blessed with many talents, such as cooking, sewing and crocheting. She was well known to many for her involvement with both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as Livingston Band Boosters Organization. She touched many lives with her outgoing personality. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Mabel Patterson; husband, Floyd Heflin; daughter, Maxine Heflin; and grandson, Walter Heflin II. She is survived by two sons, and one daughter-in-law, Walter and Dottie Heflin of Livingston and Bobby Ross of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Martha Reider of Bedias, Myrna and Raymond Harrington of Leggett, Malia and Ernest Guest of Bedias; special friend, Deshanna Ross of Huntsville, TX; brother, Bruce Patterson of Manassas, MD; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and other friends.

Dorothy Jean Duff

Dorothy Jean Duff, age 72, of Livingston, TX passed away on December 26, 2011 in Livingston after a long illness due to complications from diabetes. She was born on October 14, 1939 in Livingston to parents, Ady Hendrix and Ruth Lambright Hendrix. She was a lifelong homemaker, but most important, she was devoted to God and her family. Dorothy was a member of Soda Baptist Church. She was the most unselfish person one could ever meet, always considering others before herself. She cared for her family as well as people in the community. Dorothy’s door was always open to her extended family and every child, no matter what their need might be. Her love cannot be expressed in words. All those who knew her, understood her compassion for others. Dorothy loved her friends and family with all her heart.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will following the funeral service at Big Sandy Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Rev. Tim Thompson, Rev. Dicky Boddie and Rev. Flynn Hendrix. Pallbearers will be Zack Williford, Karl Kellar, Raymond Duff, Helio Adjuntas, Paul Duff, Adam Duff, Joel Moore and Jeff Cornelius. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Tolar, Joel Hendrix, Kevin Hendrix, Buddy Wiggins and Chuck Miller. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Ady and Ruth Hendrix and daughter, Elizabeth Duff. She is survived by her husband, Billy Duff of Livingston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Melinda Duff, Mark and Sheila Duff, Greg and Cathy Duff, all of Big Sandy; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tommy Williford of Big Sandy; son, John Duff of Austin; aunt, Ruby McEwin of The Woodlands; two brothers and sister-in-law, Rex and Winnie Hendrix of Camp Ruby and Edwin and Betty Hendrix of Big Sandy; thirteen grandchildren, Brianna Duff, Brittanie Duff, Chelsea Duff, Cinnamon Duff, Sheena Cater, Karissa Cater, Adam Duff, Bryan Duff, Paul Duff, Rance Duff, Mary Elizabeth Duff, Laikin Nash, and Zack Williford; twelve great grandchildren, Kolby, Kadence, Christopher, Keira, Kable, Samia, Juan, Jonathon, Jasmine, Selena, Trinity and Aiden.

Bill R. Jones

Bill R. Jones, age 69, of Livingston, TX, passed away in Lufkin, TX on December 22, 2011. He was born in Comanche, OK on November 21, 1942, to parents, Jack Floyd Jones and Macie Roark Jones. Graduated from Seminole High School in 1961 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University on an academic scholarship and later attended Baylor Law School were he received his license in 1967. He was a member of State Bar of Texas and former member of American Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Association of School Board, National Association of School Board, Texas Association of Mediators, National Association of Certified Mediators.

He’s a current member of the Board of Directors for Peoples State Bank and has been for over 30 years. A member of First Presbyterian Church of Livingston where he was an Elder and taught Adult Sunday School for over 30 years. He helped organize the Holy Smoke BBQ, silent auction and garage sale where all proceeds were donated to help mission causes.
He was an avid Houston Astros and Baylor Bear fan. He coached youth baseball for 20 years and was formerly actively involved in Livingston Youth Baseball Association and helped form the Fall Ball teams.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, reading, studying Spanish, playing on his computer, growing a garden, playing dominoes and watching his grandchildren grow.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Jack Jones; mother-in-law, Ella Smyly and father-in-law, Jack Smyly and good friend, John Slocomb. He is survived by his wife, Susan Smyly Jones of Livingston; mother, Macie Jones of Livingston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Joe Keith Puckett of Livingston and Leslie and Derrick Birdsall of Denton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Terri Greenwood and Brad and Trishka Jones of Livingston; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Katie Jones of Aransas Pass, sister-in-law, Sandy Owen of Woodville; eight grandchildren, Kole Puckett, Kelsey Puckett, Ryan Reed, Zach Reed, Haley Reed, Krista Jones, Jackson Jones and Brooklyn Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Central Baptist Church in Livingston, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Interment will follow at Peebles Cemetery. Pastor Joe McDonald will conduct the services. Pallbearers are John Thompson, John Haynes, Scott Evans, Dick Cordes, Gene Bush, Clarke Evans, Anthony Page and Joe Ned Dean. Honorary Pallbearers are Polk County Bar Association, Bill Jones’ Adult Sunday School Class, Directors and Officers of Peoples State Bank, Henry Ager, Lee Jones, Greg Ogletree, Bruce Bray, John Kinney, Mike Minter, Robert Bice and Bill Glaspy.
