February 3, 1947 to August 30, 2012

Funeral services for Dutch Hilton, age 65 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Harold Isaacs will conduct the services. Following the chapel service, interment will be held at Bold Springs cemetery in Livingston.

Lorena Hilton, known to everyone as Dutch Hilton, was born in Oklahoma on February 3, 1947. She passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Hilton and a great step-grandchild, Haley Blanc. Dutch is survived by her son, Larry Williams and his girl friend, Natalie Miller of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Holly Elder of Missouri; daughter-in-law, Shawnie Williams of Livingston; two granddaughters, Keely Williams and Kelsey Williams; five step-children and their husbands and wives, Joan and Jerry Maturin of New Iberia, Louisiana, John K. Hilton of New Iberia, Louisiana, David and Cindy Hilton of Youngsville, Louisiana, Cindy and Kevin York of Nashville, Arkansas, Amanda and Devin Rider of Kilgore, Texas; thirteen step-grandchildren, Brandi Woodson, Misti Bridges, Brittany Broussard, David Hilton, Jr., Cory Hilton, Hunter Hilton, Ashley Allmon, Hailey Allmon, Calley Allmon, Javion Rider, Kiara Gordon, Donavan Rider and Davin Rider; three great step-grandchildren, Aubbree Woodson, Ella Woodson, and Craig Blanc, Jr.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Maria Jimenez Delrie

Maria Jimenez Delrie, a resident of Elysian Fields, Tx was born on July 25, 1945 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, She has gone to be with the Lord after many years struggling with Alzheimer's.

A memorial service was held at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Tx on Saturday September, 01, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Pastor Robert Smith.

Maria lived in the United States all of her adult life. She loved her family, church, and many friends. She never met a stranger and made many friends during her life. She was preceded in death by her parents: Daniel Jimenez, and Josefa Gonzalez, her two brothers: Roberto Jimenez and Luis Jimenez, and two sisters: Edna Pagan and Gloria Vasquez.

She is survived by her husband, Rodrick, her son, Jacob Delrie and his wife, Dana, of Memphis, Tn, daughters: Jessica Stokley and her husband, Chris, of Euless, Tx, Lori Paul and her husband, Greg, of Alexandria, La, Nixa Creel and her husband, Clayton, of Dallardsville, Tx, and Ginger Buskirk and her husband, Brandon, of Wheat Ridge, Co. She is survived by 12 grandchildren: Joshua Haynes, Jordan Haynes, Isaac Caranza, Levi Delrie, Eliot Paul, Ebby Paul, Ashton Creel, Cameron Creel, Landon Creel, Michael Buskirk, Feliciah Buskirk, and Gabriel Buskirk and one great grandchild, Allena Marie Haynes. Also survived by two sisters: Lydia Jimenez and Amarilys Jimenez of Puerto Rico.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons.

Special thanks to Bethel United Methodist Women, to caregiver Annie Stephens, the staff at Marshall Manor Nursing Home, and the staff at Timberwood Nursing Home.

Tonja Renee’ Robinett Stewart
January 5, 1960 to August 29, 2012

Tonja Renee’ Robinett Stewart, age 52 of Onalaska, Texas, was born on January 5, 1960, in Livingston, Texas, to parents Winfred and Dorothy Evelyn (Seals) Robinett. She passed away on August 29, 2012, at her home in Onalaska.

Tonja had many friends thru the years. She enjoyed being a cheerleader at Livingston Junior High and High School. For many years she worked with her mother, Evelyn, and later ran Robinett Poodle Parlor after her mother retired.

Those who will cherish her memory are her father, Winfred Robinett and Minnie; her loving husband, Jerold Stewart; her daughter, Sarah Stewart, who took such good care of her mother during her illness; her daughter and son-in-law from League City, Shannon and Tony Fielder and her beautiful granddaughter, Kayla Fielder; her brother, Ronnie Robinett, who will miss fishing with his sister; her best friend and sister, Debbie Carlisle and her husband, Richard; two nephews and their families, Stephen Campbell and Daniel Campbell; numerous cousins and other relatives. Tonja is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Robinett.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, on Friday, August 31, 2012. Pastor Tim Thompson will conduct the services.

Pallbearers are: Rick Seals, Vic Seals, Mark Seals, Stephen Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Richard Carlisle, and Manny Chappell. Honorary pallbearer is Ronnie Robinett. Following the chapel service, interment will be held at Forest Hill cemetery in Livingston.
Donations may be made to The Rose Foundation.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston.

Mark E. Roberts

Funeral Services for Mark E. Roberts, age 63, of Onalaska, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 30, 2012 with Pastor Ken Ramey officiating the services at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska. Interment icon will take place at 2:30 PM in the Houston National VA cemetery in Houston, Texas. Military honors will be provided by the VFW District Four Ceremonial Team. Pallbearers will be Danny Parrott, Matthew Roberts, Jacob Parrott, Gaylon Overton, Robert Patterson and Michael Vaughan.

Honorary Pallbearer is Forrest Peavy.

He was born September 21, 1948 in Alice, Texas to parents, Earl Roberts and Maude (Pitts) Roberts and passed away on August 25, 2012 at his residence. Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Roberts and Maude (Pitts) Roberts.
Mark’s survivors include his spouse, Kay Roberts, of Onalaska; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Danny Parrott, of Montgomery; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Forrest Peavy, of Onalaska; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Tanya Roberts, of Conroe; grandson, Jacob Parrott, of Montgomery; granddaughter, Kennidy Parrott, of Montgomery; grandson, John Peavy, of Onalaska; granddaughter, Karaline Parrott, of Montgomery; grandson, Jaxon Parrott, of Montgomery; granddaughter, Reese Peavy, of Onalaska; granddaughter, Sarah Grace Roberts, of Conroe; grandson, Zachary Roberts, of Conroe; grandson, Colton Roberts, of Conroe; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cindy Roberts, of Waxahachie; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Cindy Roberts, of Sandusky, Ohio; step-mother, Mary Roberts, of Cameron. Numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.

Karlyn Mattson Hicks
February 18, 1928 to August 23, 2012

A Memorial Service for Karlyn Mattson Hicks, age 84 of Onalaska, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2012, atr Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas. Rev. James Frazier will conduct the service. A Reception will immediately follow the service at the Senior Citizen Center in Onalaska, Texas, until 5:00 PM.

Karlyn Margaret Mattson Hicks made her appearance February 18, 1928, to Karl Walter and Evelyn Mattson in Boston, Mass.

She was preceded into Heaven by her parents, husband Gerald, (son by choice) Michael Lynn Hicks, daughter Devonie Aiken, and son Bruce Aiken. She leaves to celebrate her life son Charles Lee Aiken, his wife Julieann Aiken of Pearland, daughters Cheryl Ann Haywood and Sharon Sue Wilson and her husband Malcolm E Wilson III of Arlington, Tx. Grandchildren Jennifer Scott of Dallas TX, Karlyn Keller of Grapevine, TX, David Haywood of Dallas Tx., Kenneth Keller of Lewisville, Tx. Lisa Rockett and her husband Mike. Rockett of Union Star, Mo, Leslie Davis of Az, Michael Aiken of Friendswood, Tx, and Troy Aiken of Pearland, Tx. Karlyn ‘s great grandchildren Jennifer, Arianne, and Tryston, Devon, Adecia, and Pippa.

Karlyn lived by the saying that “The Devil finds mischief for idle hands” and she kept her hands busy. She was a life member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, AARP, DMA (don’t mention age) Red Hat Society, Hook and Needle, UMW, Share, Wellness Support group, Worship Committee, to mention a few.

Karlyn was born in Boston in 1928, was reborn as a “Texan” in 1955, when she moved here with her family. She married Gerald Hicks in 1959, and moved to Pearland in 1963 where they lived until 1984 when they retired to Onalaska. She joined the Baptist church in 1990 where she served as a teacher to the 4 and 5 year old children. She joined the Methodist church after the death of her husband in 1996. Where she found her place in the kitchen, and joined the voices of the choir. She loved to travel with her granddaughter Karlyn, her namesake, and they traveled all over the country even taking a trip back to Boston. Recently she loved to stay at her daughter’s ranch in Lampasas with her companion Shadow. She also enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren here in Onalaska and loved cooking for all of them.

Ada Meda Martin

Ada Meda Martin was born on February 27, 1911 to parents Herman and Anna (Bamberg) Back in Kingfisher Oklahoma. Went to be with her Lord on August 20, 2012. Ada was preceded in death by her loving husband Barney B. Martin, both parents; sister, Nadine White and brother, Raymond Back. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Tullos and husband Billy; granddaughters, Cheryl Rodriguez and husband Jesse, Leanne DeCola and husband Pete and Tonya Richmond and husband Tod; grandson, Wayne Tullos and wife Carrie; 13 great grandchildren and 15 great- great - grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Ada was employed at the Enid State School in Enid, OK. for 20 years. She has lived in this community since 1997. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #1139, Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars #8568 and was a member of Livingston First United Methodist Church. The family wished to give a special thank you to Timberwood Nursing Home, Hospice in the Pines, Rev. James Frazier and Dr. David Buescher.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 between 5 – 8 PM at Pace Funeral Home. A Celebration of Ada’s Life will begin at 10AM, on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Pace Funeral Home. Rev. James Frazier will be officiating along with the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 1139. Pall bearers will be grandsons; John Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, James DeCola, Joe DeCola, Alan Tullos, grandsons-in-laws; Leon Garza and Bill Harthcock. Honorary pall bearers will be Livingston Chapter 1139 Order of the Eastern Star, VFW Post 8568 Ladies Auxiliary, Member of Livingston UMC and Friendship Class. Interment icon will follow at Tullos Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery in Ace, Texas.

Jo Ann Gerald
April 11, 1948 ~ August 24, 2012

Jo Ann Gerald was promoted to Heaven on Friday August, 24, 2012. After a courageously fought battle with cancer, she passed peacefully at her home in Livingston surrounded by her family. Jo Ann was born on April 11, 1948 in Texas City, TX to Robert & Shirley DuRee. She was married to Glen Gerald on June 6, 1964 at First United Methodist Church in Texas City, TX. Jo Ann worked numerous years for Santa Fe ISD finishing her years there as a Substitute Teacher and Office Worker. “Service” is a word that certainly describes Jo Ann and no age was safe from her! She taught Sunday School to Kindergartners in her church for several years. For over 20 years in the spring time you could find Jo Ann involved in the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo involved in numerous activities including heading up Senior Citizen’s Day. For many years she impacted the lives of hundreds of teenagers while working with her own children as a coach. She also was a swim instructor, childcare provider, and a den mother in cub scouts, and was “Queen Mother” in her chapter of Red Hats. Jo Ann’s greatest joys were her 17 grandchildren.

Jo Ann lived in Texas City, TX all of her childhood, moved to Louisiana after getting married , and settled in Santa Fe most of her adult life before moving to Livingston in 2008. She is survived by Glen, her loving husband of 48 years, her brother John DuRee and his wife Mary Lou, brother-in-law Kenneth Gerald and his wife Sue, her uncle Albert DuRee and his wife Marilyn, her four children including Mark Gerald and his wife Michelle, Kelli Hardcastle and her husband Lance, Robert Gerald and his wife Brenda, Matt Gerald and his wife Jenifer. She will also be missed by her 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and treasured friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Shirley DuRee.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday September 1, 2012 at 10:30am at the Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, TX. Following the service, you are invited to attend a fellowship luncheon at the Gerald’s home. In lieu of flowers you can send online donations to MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, TX at www.mdanderson.org/gifts/. Jo Ann will certainly be missed greatly, but her legacy of family and service will live on in the lives of those she touched.

Zada Maxine Warren

Memorial Services for Zada Maxine Warren, age 82, of Point Blank, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 with Pastor Don Davis officiating the services at the Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank.

She was born July 27, 1930 in Lake Village, Arkansas to her parents, Quinton A. and Josephine (Reynolds) Fuller and passed away on August 25, 2012 at her residence. Zada is preceded in death by her parents, Quinton A. and Josephine (Reynolds) Fuller; son, Thomas Shane Sasser and sister, Nora Bawcom.

Zada enjoyed the scriptures and had a few favorite Bible Passages. She took comfort from the readings of Psalm 23 and Psalm 31, but John 11:25 (I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die) and John 14:1 (“Do not let your hearts be troubled. “Trust” in God trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place I am going) were her absolute favorites. She was a member of the Point Blank Community Church. Zada worked as a hairdresser for Thirty years and retired in 1992.

Her survivors include her husband, Cecil Albert Warren, of Point Blank; her children, Stephen Lyle Sasser, of Point Blank, Sondra Sharon Sasser, of Point Blank and Michael Dale Sasser, Jr., of Mt. Belview; grandchildren, Aaron Tyler Caldwell, of Houston, Phillip L. McDuffie, Jr., of Point Blank and Stefanie Kay Mitchell, of Magnolia; brothers, Dwayne Fuller, of Navasota, John Fuller, of Channelview and Leon Fuller, of Livingston; sister, Bobbie Higginbotham, of Hamburg, Arkansas. Numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.

Ollie Bickford

Ollie Bickford born November 21, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Minnie Beebe Bickford. Went to be with the Lord August, 22, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. Mr. Bickford is survived by three children; Steve Bickford and wife Cathy, Tina Y’Barbo and husband Gill, Andy Bickford and wife Kim; eight grand children; four great-grand children and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Ollie is preceded in death by wife; Helen, brother; Everett Lee Bickford, sisters; Betty Lou Emmons and Sharon Barfield. A Celebration of Ollie’s life will begin at 10:00AM Saturday August 25, 2012 with Pastor David Anderson officiating.

Eva Jenkins

Funeral Services for Eva Jenkins, age 92, of Houston, formerly of Livingston will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2012 with High Priest Dean King officiating the services Elders Richard Johnson and Bill Fehmer to assist at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Interment icon will follow in the Restland Memorial Garden cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston. Pallbearers are Robert Allen Hancock, Eric Henry Hancock, Chris Wade, Rick Jenkins, Michael Riepl, Mark Riepl and Josh Wade.

She was born October 3, 1919 in Taylor, Pennsylvania to her parents, Richard and Myrtle (Robinson) Robbins and passed away August 22, 2012 in Houston. Eva is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Myrtle (Robinson) Robbins; sister, Margaret Fuge and son-in-law, Emil Allen Hancock.

Her survivors include her husband, William Jenkins, of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Dixie Jenkins Riepl and Dr. Ed Riepl, of Houston; daughter, Carolyn Jenkins Hancock, of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Rick Jenkins and Debbie Jenkins, of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Michael Riepl, Mark Riepl, Robert Allen Hancock, Eric Henry Hancock, Jessica Jenkins Hernandez, Emily Jenkins and Stephanie Jenkins; ten great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Ferrell, of Houston. Numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.

September 20, 1958 to August 22, 2012

Loren E. Clary, Jr. was born on September 20, 1958, in Pasadena, Texas, to parents, Loren E. Clary, Sr. and Ann Clary. He passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in Joplin, Missouri.

Mr. Clary is survived by his father, Loren E. Clary, Sr. of Weatherford, Texas; mother, Ann Clary of Weatherford, Texas; two sons, Samuel Clary and William Clary, both of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Brandie Lynn Clary of England, U.K.; brother, Tony Clary of Weatherford, Texas.

Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 AM on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Funeral services for Mattie Powell, 75, of Corrigan, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Ken Cauthin and Bro. Larry Tress officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Powell was born October 11, 1926 in Corrigan, Texas and passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in Corrigan, Texas. She lived a full life and enjoyed working in her yard in the flower beds, fishing and camping. She loved to cook, her specialty was homemade rolls. She is preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Gene Powell; parents: Bailey and Zelma (Wagner) Willson; grandson: Milton Eugene Powell Jr.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Milton and Juanita Powell of Corrigan, Texas; daughter: Edith Purvis Whitten of Corrigan, Texas; brother and sister-in-law: Charlie and Shirley Willson of Moscow, Texas; brother-in-laws: Jerry Grimes of Woodville, Texas, E.L. Burns of Magnolia, Texas; sisters-in-law: Dollie Mae Wilson of Leggett, Texas, Odie Willson of Moscow, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great- great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
