Kenneth Wayne Nettles
June 20, 1942 – June 25, 2013

Kenneth Wayne Nettles, age 71, passed away on June 25, 2013 after a courageous battle with Cancer at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. He was born on June 20, 1942 in Livingston, to parents, John “Jack” C. and Katie Maze Nettles. He was a graduate of Livingston High School where he was “Mr. L.H.S.“ and he enjoyed ranching and raising cattle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Frances Marie Nettles; one sister, Jewell Nettles; and two brothers, Jack Nettles and Glenn Nettles. His survivors include his wife, Barbara Clarke Nettles, of Livingston; daughter, Kimberly Marie Marshall and husband, Tim, of Austrilla; son, Kenneth “Scott” Nettles and wife, Melinda, of Mt. Belvieu; son, Steven Wayne Nettles and wife, Jerriann, of Baytown; step-son, James Clarke and wife, D.A., of Livingston; step-daughter, Amy Clarke Palmer, of Allen; eight grandchildren, Haleigh Nettles, Garrett Nettles, Gavin Nettles, Reagan Nettles, Samantha Nettles, Whitney Dagle, Tyler Biggs and Jordan Biggs; two great grandchildren, Peyton Jackson and Harper Dagle; siblings, Alvis Nettles and wife, Mary, of Livingston, Wilson Nettles, of Livingston, Aubrey Earl Nettles and wife, Novie, of Goodrich, Elmer Nettles and wife, Hilda, of Livingston, Floyd Nettles and wife, Margie, of Deer Park, Faye Hamilton and husband, Bob, of Spring, Dene Courtney and husband, Lee, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Bettie Paredes and husband, Pablo, of Livingston; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Nettles will be held Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston. Pastor Pam Howard will be officiating the service. Interment icon will follow at Peebles cemetery, also in Livingston. He will be escorted to his final resting place by his pallbearers, Mark Hamilton, Scott Nettles, Steven Nettles, Mickey Nettles, Neil Nettles, Lance Nettles, Gary Cain, Ty Paredes, Jon Nettles, Mike Nettles, Forrest Hamilton, Rock Hamilton, Floyd Dale Nettles, David Nettles, Doug Nettles, Tyler Biggs, Dewayne Oates, Darrell Oates and Garrett Nettles. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Wheeler, Joe Pridgen, James Bergman and Jimmy Neil Hooks.

Anna-Leigh Aline Smith
October 4, 2010 - June 22, 2013

Anna-Leigh Aline Smith was born on October 4, 2010 in Kingwood, Texas to parents, Clinton Smith and Sherry E. Griffith Smith. She left this life at the age of 2, on June 22, 2013 in Conroe, Texas to spend eternity in heaven with her Lord.

Anna-Leigh lived in Livingston, Texas with her family until recently moving to Willis, Texas. She attended Central Baptist Church with her family. She was a blessing and truly a special little girl. She will be remembered in more ways than one, from her curly locks of hair, to her ability to light up a room with her smile.

Anna-Leigh is survived by her parents, Clinton and Sherry Smith of Willis, Texas; sister, Maddison Smith of Willis, Texas; brother, Landon Smith of Willis, Texas; expected baby brother, Andrew-Lee Smith; grandparents, Richard and Jeannie Mullins of Livingston, Texas; grandparents, Patrick and Penny Smith of Highlands, Texas; great grandpa, Jeff Kenner of Livingston, Texas; great grandparents, Pauline and Douglas Mullins of Rockport, Texas; great grandparents, Milton and Grace Hans of Highlands, Texas; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousin and many extended family members; and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Anna-Leigh will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Ernest Moyers and Pastor Mike Meadows will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Clint Smith, Patrick Smith, Richard Mullins and Robert Johns. Honorary pallbearer will be Landon Smith. Following the chapel service, interment will be held at Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston.

Ralph Lynn Willis

October 23, 1947 - June 24, 2013

Ralph Lynn Willis, age 65, passed away on June 24, 2013 at his home in Livingston, Texas, when God plucked a “Perfect Angel” for His collection. He was born on October 23, 1947 in St. Paul, Virginia, to parents, Lyle Willis and Lenore Snyder Willis.

Ralph was an honorary VFW and American Legion member and carried the torch for the “Special Olympics”. He enjoyed pizza and movies every week.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Fred Hershaw. He is survived by four cousins, Diana Kriehn, Eric Snyder, Dawn Williams, Ashlee Abbott; niece, Jackie Huttner; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Ralph Lynn Willis will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Chesswood Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. Col. Howard Daniels will conduct the service.

Joyce Lorraine Kinney McCarty

Joyce Lorraine Kinney McCarty of Corrigan, Texas was born on June 28, 1942 in Urania, Louisiana to Phillip DeWitt and Sara Annie Aycock Kinney and was called home to her Heavenly Father on June 21, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Carroll Patrick McCarty; children, Bruce and Julia Isbell of Silsbee, Texas, Michelle Barefield of Corrigan, Texas, DeAnn Soderholm of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Joyce Barefield, Danny and Brandy Cude, Brian Jr. and Krystal Soderholm, Stoney Jr. and Brittany Walter, Dale and Tamera Leviness, William Barefield Jr. and Matthew D. Walter; great grandchildren, Lane LeBlanc, Trenton Cude, Kacey LeBlanc, Dylan Cude, Brendan Walter, Taylor Cude, Stormie LeBlanc, Miss Stoney Walter III, Bentlieh Walter, Dalayina Leviness and Remi Soderholm; sister, Mary Lee Kees; numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Carl Otto Soderholm and son Brian Phillip Soderholm Sr. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Joyce loved to hunt and fish.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3PM to 9PM at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10 AM in the chapel at Pace Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Hodge officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Phillip Soderholm Jr., Stoney Blake Walter Jr., William Russell Barefield Jr., Matthew DeWitt Walter, Danny Wayne Cude, and Rusty Barefield. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Barefield and Jessie Lee Barefield. Interment icon will follow at 2:30 PM in Vidor, Texas at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Eddie Dell Thomas Johnson
February 4, 1937 – June 21, 2013

Eddie Dell Thomas Johnson, age 76, passed away on June 21, 2013 at her home in Livingston, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Livingston, Texas on February 4, 1937 to parents, Charles Louis Thomas Sr. and Verna Gay Allen Thomas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas and married John Martin Johnson on May 5, 1958 in Houston, Texas.

Eddie Dell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Martin Johnson; two brothers, Charles Vernon “Sunny” Thomas and Charles Louis Thomas, Jr.; two sisters, Monnie Ray McClellan and Jimmy Lee Kirkpatrik; and nephew, Paul Smith. She is survived by brother, Milton Glenn “Buddy” Thomas of Livingston, Texas; two sisters, Ollie Finch Sims and Edna Hennington Tomme, both of Livingston, Texas; numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends; and best friend, John Milton White.

Funeral service for Eddie Dell, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Mike Meadows officiating. Interment icon will be held at Oakdale cemetery in Livingston, following the chapel service. She will be escorted to her final resting place by her pallbearers Jimmy Hennington, Petey Thomas, Kevin Kirkland Thomas, Gage Karl McCellan and Boyd Dickens. Honorary Pallbearers are Caleb Kirkland, David Smith, Calvin Kirkland, Keith Jones, Bobbie Thomas, Candace Vaught, Alexis Brown and Tyler Brown.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time, on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mollye Edwina Johnson
March 6, 1940 to June 21, 2013

Mollye Edwina Johnson, age 73, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at her home in Livingston, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1940 in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Johnson married Winston Johnson on August 30, 1957 in Houston, Texas. She was a gospel singer, charter member of Glory Bound Ministry, prominent in nursing home evangelism and a member of Church On The Lake.

Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her mother, Velma Una Stewart Harris and grandson, James Michael Johnson. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Winston “Winkie” Johnson of Livingston, Texas; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray and Nita Johnson of Katy, Texas, Russell & Tammy Johnson of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Carla G. Johnson of Livingston, Texas; very special friend, Medda Rauhut of Livingston, Texas; three grandchildren, Joseph Johnson, Melissa Johnson and Jacob Johnson; and a host of friends.

Graveside service and Interment icon was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Ace Community cemetery in Ace, Texas. Bro. Paul Boyd and Pastor Ed Jennings conducted the services.

Mary Ruth (Dominy) DeLaney
November 12, 1941 to June 20, 2013

Mary Ruth DeLaney of Livingston, Texas passed away at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas at the age of 71. She was born in Livingston, Texas, to parents, Olive Jones and William Julius Dominy in the old Flowers Hospital on November 12, 1941.

Mrs. DeLaney grew up in Goodrich, Texas and married Iverson B. DeLaney on March 21, 1959. She spent most of her adult life in Pasadena, Texas, before retiring and returning to Polk County.

Mrs. DeLaney is preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers and their wives, Leon and Louise Dominy and Julius E. “Billy” and Zeffa Dominy. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Iverson DeLaney of Livingston; daughter, Rhonda Brodie of Livingston, Texas and her three daughters, Kieran, Sterling and Brienne Brodie; son and wife, Rance and Elizabeth DeLaney of Keller, Texas and their children, Olivia, Elise and Andre DeLaney; sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Bobby Lowe of Livingston, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Ruth Dominy of Livingston, Texas; her dear friend, Kay Thames; nieces and nephews, Barbara Wishon, Jerry Dominy, Billie Street, Mike Dominy, Randall Lowe, Gary Lowe and Lynne Dominy; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeLaney, were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Randall Lowe conducted the service. Pallbearers are Gary Lowe, Mike Dominy, Gary Campbell, Richard Bee, Gary Sexton and Lamar Lambert. Following the chapel service, interment was held at Peebles cemetery in Polk County, Texas.

Donations may be made to The American Heart Association.

Billy Joe Cooling

Billy Joe Cooling was born in League City, Texas May 27, 1924 to Newell L. and Edith Seaman Cooling. The Lord called Billy home of June 19, 2013 in Livingston, Texas . Billy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Judy Hvilholt Cooling ; son, Walter Cooling and wife Lynn; brother, Robert Cooling and wife Mary; sisters, Betty Alexander and husband Dick; Bonnie Daigle and husband Jessie; grandchildren, Chris and Timothy Cooling; great grandchildren, Maxwell, Rachel Ann and Thomas Cooling. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Joe Cooling II; ten brothers and one sister.

Billy was a member and a trustee of First Baptist Church of Goodrich, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II saw action at Normandy on D day at Omaha Beach. Billy also fought in Battle of the Bulge. Billy was a proud member of the VFW Post #8568 in Livingston, Texas, member of Carpenter Union local 1226, past vice-president. Volunteer at Polk County Mission for many years. Billy loved to fish but his favorite hobby was helping people.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5pm til 8pm at Pace Funeral Home. Celebration of Billy’s life will be held at Pace Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 22th at 10 am with Rev. Tom Owens officiating. Interment icon to follow at Forest Hill cemetery with Military Honor provided by VFW Post 8568 of Livingston.

Dolores Ann Schmick
May 25, 1940 to June 17, 2013

Dolores Ann Schmick, age 73 of Livingston, Texas, passed away in Houston, Texas, on Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born on May 25, 1950, in Houston, Texas.

Dolores is survived by her mother, Barbara Boyd of Houston, Texas; significant other, Barbara Griesmyer of Livingston, Texas, sister, Carolyn Roberts of Houston, Texas; two nephews and one niece; and a host of friends.

A Service of Remembrance is pending.

Clare Mae Driskell, age 81 of Leggett, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. She was born on December 11, 1931, to parents Dock and Mary Moore Clifton.

Mrs. Driskell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Weldon B. Driskell; daughter, Linda Mitchell; and son-in-law, Donald G. Mitchell. She is survived by son, Weldon Ray Driskell of Conroe, Texas; grandson and wife, Donald and Hilda Mitchell of Center Grove, Texas; granddaughter and husband, Kim and Melvin Nesmith, Jr. of Leggett, Texas; granddaughter, Hollie Smith of Conroe, Texas; nephew, Donald Musgrave of Onalaska, Texas; great grandchildren, Destiny Nesmith, Kelsie Nesmith, Trey Nesmith, Baili Mitchell, Shy Mitchell, Daniel Martinez, Alexander Martinez and Jorden Martinez; and great-great grandson, Michael Shirley.

A Graveside Service and Interment icon was held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Center Grove cemetery in Polk County, Texas. Rev. Harold Isaacs conducted the service.

Thomas Wesley Elliott (T.W. “Sam” Elliott)

Thomas Wesley Elliott (T.W. “Sam” Elliott) died Sunday morning in Livingston, Texas, at the age of 92. He was born in Mt Vernon, Texas, May 8, 1921. His parents were Lon B. and Lena Elliott.

Sam was pre-deceased by his parents; wife, Nelwynn Baxley Elliott; four brothers, Jack Elliott, Joe Elliott, Olie Elliott and Claudie Elliott; three sisters, Ouida Scroggins, Carmen Griggs and Juanita Holub; one niece and one nephew.

Sam is survived by his children, Michael Elliott and wife, Mary of Cripple Creek, Colorado, Carole Futch and husband, Lenon of Austin, Texas, Angela Dominy and husband, Mike of Livingston, Texas, and Paula Estefan and husband, Ron of Conroe, Texas; nieces and nephews, Elaine Elliott of Rockport, Texas, Patricia Temple of Jacksonville, Texas, Rose Griggs, Fred Griggs and Jim Griggs; grandchildren, Ashley Thomasini and husband, Von of Monmouth, Oregon; great grandchildren, Sage, Malachi, Tobias and Shiloh Rain Thomasini; granddaughter, Jennifer Money and husband Billy Fain; great grandchildren, Meganne Money of Pearland, Texas, and Jake and Crissy Dominy of Livingston, Texas; step grandsons, Zachary and Blake Estefan of Houston Texas; devoted secretary and friend, Henrietta Norman; two friendly ex-wives, Marilyn Kidd of Goodrich, Texas, and Theresa Ainsworth of Nacogdoches; and a host of friends.

Sam began his life on the family farm in Winnsboro, Texas. Later, he joined the U.S. Air Force and soon transferred to the Paratroops, where he made many jumps. After an honorable discharge, he spent several years in the Reserves and was recalled to duty, serving in Korea in 1950. When this tour of duty was over, he established an oilfield service business until he was able to pursue his dream of “living the country life”.

A 55 year long resident, of Livingston, he began operating a dairy at East Tempe until the lake was developed, which lead to his long career of real estate development. Sam was an entrepreneur who enjoyed buying and selling land and properties.

In his younger days, he loved golfing and boasting of two holes-in-one. Sam enjoyed talking with everyone who came in his office. They knew him for the many interesting stories he told about his adventures. He went to his office every day, until two weeks before his death.

Funeral services for Sam will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Joe McDonald and Bro. Dicky Boddie will conduct the service. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Dominy, Jake Dominy, Bill Westmoreland, Daniel Walters, Jerry Wayne Cassity and Eddie Martin. Interment icon will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, following the chapel service, at Harmony cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
