Dorothy Virginia Parker, age 90 of Conroe, Texas passed away on August 19, 2013 in Conroe. She was born on January 5, 1923 in Onalaska, Texas to parents, Maurice Lee Martin and Hazel (Haynes) Martin.

Dorothy is preceded in death by both of her parents, Maurice and Hazel Martin; husband, Everett Parker; and brother, Oscar Lee Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Linda O’Bannon of Livingston, Texas and Jeanie Tierling and husband Ken of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Tammy Ezernack, Elaine Guidry, Dena Benner and Michael Campbell; great-grandchildren, Stephen Havard, James Dean Ezernack, Amber Pulvino, Chase Guidry, Shelby Pierce, Parker O’Bannon, Matison Benner, Jess Shows, Brittany Traverse, Dac Campbell, and Mackenzie Benner; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Melford (Nig) Martin and wife Nell; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Dorothy is the past president of the ladies Auxilary Post #8568 and past president of the District for Post #8568. She was also a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Dorothy will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Michael Campbell, Dac Campbell, Stephen Havard, Chase Guidry, Parker O’Bannon, James (“Flip) Benner, Michael Pulvino, and Jess Shows. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Martin, Matt Martin, Kerry Wayne Martin, Ricky Martin, Bill Reeves, and Scott Martin.

Services for Dorothy Virginia Parker will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Brian Domingues will be officiating the service. Interment icon will follow at Bold Springs cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday morning.

Evelyn Cochran Snider

Evelyn Cochran Snider born on September 9, 1945 to Carlston "Charles" and Agnes Ebanks McNab in Honduras, passed away on August 17, 2013 in Houston, Texas at the age of 67. Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert Cochran and wife Kirsten of Florida; daughter, Virlene Guzman and husband Jose of Houston; grandchildren, Raphael, Bernardo, Maximilian and Elliot; brothers, Mervin McNab of Honduras and Harvey McNab of Honduras; sister, Dora Ebanks of Conroe; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by both her parents; brother, Charles McNab. Evelyn had moved to the United States in 1971. She lived life on her own terms and in death did no different. Evelyn was the most independent, loyal, strong and loving mother, daughter, grandmother and friend.

Geneva Miller
January 24, 1930 – August 18, 2013

Geneva Miller, age 83 of Houston, Texas passed away on August 18, 2013 in Humble. Geneva was born on January 24, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents, Herman Dancy and Mary Lee (Pruitt) Dancy.

Geneva is preceded in death by both of her parents and her daughter, Erman Patricia Boyd. She is survived by her husband, Dean Miller of Houston, Texas; daughters, Mary L. Noaker of Leeds, Alabama, Velma Stranes of Victoria, Texas, Joetta Peoples of Pell City, Alabama; son, Herman McConnell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM, at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno, Texas.

Clista Dawn McKinney
January 6, 1983 – August 16, 2013

Clista Dawn McKinney, age 30 of Houston, Texas passed away on August 16, 2013 in Kingwood, Texas. Clista was born on January 6, 1983 in Conroe, Texas to parents, James Timothy McKinney and Melisa Ann Miller.

Clista is preceded in death by her grandfather, Jimmy Wayne Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Abriyah Hambric of Houston, Texas; father of her daughter, Steven Hambric of New Caney, Texas; father, James McKinney of New Caney, Texas; mother, Melisa Miller of Onalaska, Texas; step-mother, Cosette McKinney of New Caney, Texas; grandmother, Hazel Briles of New Caney, Texas; grandfather, George McKinney of Cleveland, Texas; grandmother, Frances Smith of Onalaska, Texas; grandfather and step-grandmother, Jim and Norma Miller of New Caney, Texas; grandparents, Ron and Faylene Paulsen of Charter Oak, Iowa; brother, James McKinney of Manning, Iowa; sister, Jessica McKinney of Manning, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry McKinney and Kassy of Manning, Iowa; brother, Jake McKinney of New Caney, Texas; brother, Christopher “Beef” Richardson of Tomball, Texas; sister, Keshia Richardson of New Caney, Texas; sister, Shelbe Richardson of Cleveland, Texas; brother, Jeffrey Woodyard of Hughes Springs, Texas; nieces and nephews, Hannah McKinney, Hayle McKinney, Embry Blair, Brett Richardson, and Landyn McKinney; a host of other relatives and friends.

Clista will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, James McKinney, Jerry McKinney, Jake McKinney, Joshua Folsom, Chris “Beef” Richardson, B.J. Barksdale, Steven Hambric, and Steven Miller.

Services for Clista Dawn McKinney will be held Monday, August 19, 2013, at 2:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Bro. James Georges and Bishop Hooks will be officiating the service. Interment icon will follow at Pace-Stancil Memorial Park cemetery in Cleveland, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 18, 2013, at 5:00 PM, also at Cochran Funeral Home.

Calvin Edward Plank

Calvin Edward Plank born on April 21, 1958 passed away on August 14, 2013 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 55. Calvin is survived by his loving wife Gail Ann Plank; daughters, Brittany Plank and partner Jesus Brown, Crystal and Joe Hargroder; father in law, Gerald Evans; grandchildren, Trinity Hargroder, Madison Hargroder and Maddux Brown; brother in law, Kenneth Scott and wife Kayla; sister in laws, Eunice Stobaugh, Barbara Ferguson and husband David, Patricia Nichols; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Edward McCurry; mother in law, Ethel Buchanan. Calvin was a Sergeant with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Polunsky Unit in Livingston, Texas on death row. A Celebration of Calvin’s life will be held at Pace Funeral Home 200 FM 350 North in Livingston, Texas on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00 Pm.

Hurchel Britton

Hurchel Britton born in Palestine, Texas on April 30, 1927 to Hurchel and Hattie Snook Britton, passed away on August, 12, 2013 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 86. Hurchel is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Janie Chandler Britton; son, Hurchel Alan and wife Annette Britton of Livingston, Texas; grandsons, Hurchel Alan Britton Jr. and Jason Edward Britton of Livingston, Texas; nephews, William Mack Davis of McCalla, Alabama and Joseph L. Eckels of Cut & Shoot, Texas; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Hurchel is preceded in death both his parents; sisters, Marie Rhodes and Thelma Davis. Hurchel and his wife have been in this area since 1989. He was a member of Point Blank Community Church. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. Visitation will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Pace Funeral Home 200 Fm 350 North Livingston, Texas from 5:00 Pm to 9:00 Pm. A Celebration of Hurchel’s life will be at 10:00 Am on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Pace Funeral Home with Reverend Don Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Alan Britton, Jason Britton, Wayne Kluge, Harold Johnson, Thomas Eugene Snook, Gerald Wayne Snook and Tommy Ray Snook. Mr. Britton is being honored for his service in the Merchant Marines by the VFW Post # 8568 of Livingston, Texas. Interment icon will follow at Peebles cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Lloyd Raymond Lucas

Lloyd Raymond Lucas born on November 10, 1951 in Livingston, Texas to James and Hilda Rozell Lucas, passed away on August 13, 2013 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 61. Lloyd is survived by sister, Betty Burnett and husband Franklin; niece, Francis Burnett; nephew, Frank Burnett; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by both his parents. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 10:00 Am with Reverend Harold Isaacs officiating at Restland Memorial Park cemetery 4434 Us Hwy 59 South in Livingston, Texas.

Sammy James Tanner
October 9, 1958 – July 31, 2013

Sammy James Tanner, age 54 of Livingston, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born on October 9, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland to parents, Sammy Tanner and Mildred Roushey Tanner.

Sammy is preceded in death by his father, Sammy Tanner. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Segroves of Garland, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Tanner and Bobbie of Ft. Worth, Texas; step-father, James Segroves of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; special friend, Renee McGowan of Livingston, Texas; friends, Amanda McGowan and Les and Michelle Chappell; numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives; and a host of friends.

A memorial service for Sammy Tanner will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Lois Campbell
August 28, 1930 to August 11, 2013

Lois Campbell, age 82 of Onalaska, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2013 at her home. She was born on August 28, 1930 in Batson, Texas to Walter Bryan Johnson and Edna Ammann Johnson.

Mrs. Campbell was a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister homemaker, nurse, business owner and Sunday School teacher. She was member of the Order of The Eastern Star, member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, and a real estate agent. She enjoyed traveling, sewing reading, shopping for antiques and pretty dishes.

Mrs. Campbell is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edna Johnson; husband, Noah W. Campbell; daughter, Maureen Campbell; brothers, Bill Johnson and Herman Johnson; and sisters, Walterine Wolfington and Lorice Anderson. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Gene Swann of Onalaska, Texas; two grandsons, Noah R. Green of New York, New York, and Eddie Efird at Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Matilda Green of Katy, Texas and Bonnie Swann of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Thelma Holloway of Conroe, Texas; three great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and in-laws; caregiver, Mary Ann McDaniel of Onalaska, Texas.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Larry Shine conducted the services. Interment icon was held at 3:00 PM on day of service at Guedry cemetery in Batson, Texas.

Pearl L. Strecker
September 20, 1925 to August 11, 2013

Pearl Strecker, age 87 of Livingston, Texas, and formally of Oregon, passed away in Lufkin, Texas on Sunday, August 11, 2013. Mrs. Strecker was born in Madison Nebraska on September 20, 1925 to George Frank and Neda May Leedy Johnson. Pearl’s family moved to Falls City, Nebraska when she was six months old. In 1943, she graduated from Falls City High School. Then on August 4, 1945, Pearl Married Melvin Strecker in Belton, Texas.

In 1959, Pearl and Melvin moved to California where she worked for Sears for seven years. Pearl also worked for the Lighthouse for the Blind in San Bernardino, California for seven years and was also a counselor for Desert Lawn Memorial cemetery. While working for Lighthouse for the Blind, Pearl created for benefits to raise money to build two kitchens that were used to train blind people to work in their own kitchens. On November 17, 1973, Pearl’s husband passed away. She moved to Texas in 1978, and worked as an apartment manager. In 1988 she moved to Topeka, Kansas and then came to Ocean Park, Washington in July 1995. Finally on August 31, 2002, Pearl moved to Astoria, Oregon. Due to failing health, she moved to Livingston, Texas in 2013 to be with her family.

She was a great Dodger Fan, loved country Western Music and loved to work in her garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Neda Johnson; husband, Melvin Strecker; son, Johnny Strecker; one grandson; one great grandson; and one niece. Pearl is survived by daughter, Sherrie Lynn Wagner of Livingston, Texas; granddaughters, Melissa Gates of Livingston, Texas and Melanie Alton of LaGrande, Oregon; grandson, Billy Moore of Houston, Texas; brother, Robert Johnson of Universal City, Texas; and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside service and Interment icon were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Holhausan-Darby cemetery in Moscow, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Johnson M.D. at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, Texas for third year female medical students.

Leon Evans, age 71 of Livingston, Texas, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 8, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1942 in Fraley, Missouri to parents, William S.K. Evans and Effie May (McGowin) Evans.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Evans of Channelview, Texas, and sisters, Lois Hildrich, Joyce Starks and Peggy Stockton, all of Missouri.

James Emmett Crotwell Jr.

James Emmett Crotwell Jr. born on January 10, 1942 in Ft. Worth, Texas to James Emmett and Anna Belle Gatlin Crotwell Sr., passed away on August 9, 2013 in Houston, Texas at the age of 71. James is survived by his loving wife, Carroll Workman Crotwell of Trinity, Texas; sons, James Emmett Crotwell III and wife Debra, Warren Eugene Crotwell and wife Wanda, Joseph Lee Crotwell and wife Andrea Kay; daughter in law, Jessica Crotwell; sister, Dorothy Averitt; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. James is preceded in death by both of his parents; sons, Richard Paul Crotwell and Dan Crotwell; sister, Louise Gatlin; brother, Herman Gage. James retired from Achor Hocking Glass as a glass maker. He belonged to the Moose Lodge.

A visitation will be held at Pace Funeral Home 200 Fm 350 North Livingston, Texas on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 1:00 Pm to 5:00 Pm.

Ella Faye Davis Napoleon

Ella Faye Davis Napoleon born on July 20, 1943 in Clute, Texas to Edward O’Neal and Flossie Marshburn Davis, passed away on August 8, 2013 in Trinity, Texas at the age of 70. Ella is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Sidney Napoleon; daughters, Teresa Fay Stewart, Charlotte Renae Mallory with husband David; sisters, Nelline Strange and husband Gerald and Diane Mansel and husband Doug; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. preceded in death by her father, Edward O’Neal Davis; son, Jesse Arendal Stewart. Ella was raised in Gospel Assembly Church in Houston, Texas and has been a member of Friendship Harbor Church in Trinity, Texas since 1980. Fellowship with food in dining room at 3:00 pm prior to visitation which begins at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Friendship Harbor Church, 13956 Fm 355 in Trinity, Texas. A Service in honor of Ella’s life will begin at 5:00 pm with Reverend Reagan Duncan officiating. Interment icon will follow at Chita cemetery in Chita, Texas.

Carl Edward Davidson
May 27, 1931 to August 8, 2013

Carl Edward Davidson, age 82 of Livngston, Texas, passed away in Lufkin, Texas on August 8, 2013. He was born on May 27, 1931 in Old Hickory, Tennessee to parents, Ira Franklin Davidson and Gertrude Pearl Wildmon Davidson.

Mr. Davidson, married Joyce M. Browning Davidson in LaPorte, Texas on May 26, 1951. He honored his country by serving in the Air National Guard from 1948 to 1951 and in the U.S. Air Force during the years 1951 to 1953. Mr. Davidson retired from DuPont after 35 year of employment. He was a member of Beach Creek Assembly in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Davidson is preceded in death by his parents, Ira & Gertrude Davidson; and daughter, Sandra Kay Davidson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce Marie Davidson of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sherri Davidson of La Porte, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jean Guillory of Grapevine, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kay Davidson of La Porte, Texas; sister, Jean Ford of La Porte, Texas; three grandchildren, Ronald Wayne and Leslie Davidson, Rena Davidson and Marcus Carter, and Brandy and Matthew Brown; three great grandchildren, Cameron Morrison, Camari Carter and Harper Brown; numerous Nieces and Nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services were be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Don Goodwin conducted the services. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Grand View cemetery in Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Davidson’s brother-in-law, Don Sparks will conduct the services.
