Charlotte Ann Thomas, age 69 of Onalaska, Texas passed away on September 27, 2013 in Onalaska. She was born on March 20, 1944 in Gilmer, Texas to parents, Chalmer Seymore and Valadene (Morrow) Seymore.

Charlotte is survived by her mother, Valadene Seymore; sisters, Beverly Klein and Sandra Smith; son, Woody (Sonny) Thomas; daughter, Bobbi Dent; granddaughters, Haley Dent and Alexis Dent; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Services for Charlotte Ann Thomas will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas. Sam Seymore will be conducting the service. Interment icon will follow at Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.

Francis Sybil Lowe
July 13, 1929 – September 26, 2013

Francis Lowe, age 84 of Livingston, Texas passed away on September 26, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Colita, Texas.

Francis is preceded in death by her mother, Lula Irene McCarthy Lockhart; husband, J.C. Lowe; son, Charles Gary Allen; daughter, Irene Allen; and E.C. and Bertha Lowe. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Irma Allen of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Danny Knighton of Livingston; son, Lonnie Lowe, Sr. of Livingston; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Allen of Livingston; sister, Fay Nelson of Corrigan; sister, Opal Kenner of Livingston; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Judy Lowe of Porter; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond “Cotton” and Melba Lowe of Willis; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jimmy Soupart of Willis; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Sam Kelley of Livingston; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Services for Francis Lowe will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Bro. Frank Aragon will be officiating. Interment icon will follow at Bluff Creek cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 10:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2013 also at Cochran Funeral Home.

Ann Marsh, age 86 of Livingston, Texas passed away on September 27, 2013 at her home in Livingston. She was born on October 18, 1926 in Ace, Texas to parents, Alonzo and Evy (Collins) Roberts.

Ann is survived by her husband, Dan Marsh of Livingston; daughter, Cheryl Fuller and husband Louis of Livingston; son, Allen Thomason of Livingston; son, Dan Marsh III of Spring; son, Timothy Lee Marsh of Houston; grandchildren, Kenneth Gurley and wife Jeanette Gurley, Jonathan Michael Gurley and Mary Dikes, April Spell and husband Jay Spell, Robert Lee Fuller, and Skye Dawn Marsh; great-grandchildren, Rush Hudson, Ashtyn Gurley, Andrew Gurley, Jacob Dikes, Lilly Spell, and London Spell; numerous other relatives and friends.

Ann will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Kenneth Gurley, Jonathan Gurley, Robert Fuller, Jay Spell, Todd Roberts, and Tylan Roberts.

Services for Ann M. Marsh will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Mike Meadows will be officiating the service. Interment icon will be held at 1:00 PM, that afternoon, in San Jacinto Memorial Park cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2013, also at Cochran Funeral Home.

David Dwayne Woodard
June 5, 1963 – September 24, 2013

David Dwayne Woodard, age 50, was born on June 5, 1963 in Livingston, Texas and passed away on September 24, 2013 in Houston, Texas at MD Anderson Hospital. His love and passion was truck driving for many years.

David is survived by his children, Carrie Diane Woodard of San Antonio, Joshua Duane Woodard of Dallas; grandson, Steven Woodard of Dallas; mother, Carrie Fay Woodard of Cleveland; siblings, Jerry Wayne Woodard and Connie of Livingston, Charlie Woodard and Jackie of Groveton, Donna Holman and Rhonda of Livingston, Annette Ross and Ricky of Livingston, Jean Pemberton and Rick of Spring, Joy Allemang and Curtis of Livingston, and Ann Norris and James of Cleveland; girlfriend that he loved dearly, Linda Ivy of San Antonio and her children and grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; cousin, Kenneth Woodard who was his best friend was like a brother, I love you Bubba; dear long lasting friend, Cheryl Johnson, forever love you girl. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Wayne Woodard; two brothers; grandparents, Johnny Arthur Woodard and Annie Pauline Phillips and Albert Otis and Mary Bell Johnson.

David will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers, Chris Allemang, J. Norris, Charles Ussery, James Haggard, Jerry Woodard, Joe Tham, Shelby Tham, Dick Rhoden, Robert Ewing. Services for David Dwayne Woodard will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Bro. David Rains will be officiating the service. Aunt Mary will read a poem. Interment icon will follow at Camp Ruby cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Cheryl Lynn Branson

Cheryl Lynn Branson was born on April 23, 1944 in Vernon, Texas to parents, Virgil and Marnay Dullinger Turner. In Livingston, Texas on September 26, 2013, she was called home.

Cheryl graduated from Ingleside High School. Cheryl is survived by son, Anton Thomas Mathews III of Mountain Home, Texas; granddaughter, Brittney Mathews of Corpus Christi, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Victor C. and Debby Mathews of Livingston, Texas; grandson and granddaughter, Victor C. Mathews II and Destanie R. Mathews of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie G. and Tracy Hicks of Porter, Texas; grandsons, Patrick Hicks and Peyton Hicks of Porter, Texas; father, Virgil Turner of Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Jody and David Vasquez of Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Beau and Darlene Turner of Ingleside, Texas; sister, Wanda Willowford of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Joseph Frank “Joey” David, Jr.
December 14, 1953 to September 25, 2013

Joseph Frank “Joey” David, Jr., age 59 of Point Blank, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 14, 1953 in Houston, Texas to parents, Joseph “Joe” and Genevieve “Lolly” David, Sr.

Joey is survived by his parents; daughters, Lisa David of Saginaw, Texas and Michelle Dedwilder of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Michael David of McKinney, Texas, Kenneth David of Nassau Bay, Texas and Frank David of Point Blank, Texas; sister, Pamela Ambrose of Point Blank, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob McClenny, Michael McClenny, Mason Brewer, Wyatt Dedwilder and Whitney Dedwilder.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, St. Stephen Catholic Church in Point Blank, Texas. Father Kim Nuygen officiated the Mass. Interment icon followed at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas at 3:00 PM, escorted by pallbearers, Brian David, Keathe David, Daniel David, Wesley David, L.J. Buahek and Randall Dvorak.

The family received friends on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas. Rosary was held at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening.

Earlyn Monceaux
January 30, 1929 – October 27, 2013

Earlyn Monceaux, age 84 of Romayor, Texas passed away at her son’s home on October 27, 2013. She was born on January 30, 1929 in Carmona, Texas to parents, W.A. and Essie (Mayhon) Walker.

Earlyn is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Monceaux; parents, W.A. Walker and Essie Lawson; son, William Earl Davis; two sisters, Dorothy Robinson and Helen Keithley; and one brother, Sellers Roy Elser. She is survived by her son, Thomas Davis of Cleveland, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, George and Kathy Davis of Harwood, Texas; son, Ronnie Davis of LaMarque, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and LaJeanne Hall of Romayor, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Everette and Emma Lawson of Goodrich, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Laura Pandanell of Texas City, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Roma Guywske of Houston, Texas; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Matthew Davis, Adam Hall, Bobby Hall, Bruce Keithley, Bill Potter, and Blake Elstner.
A graveside service for Earlyn will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Ace Community cemetery. John Taylor will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Patricia A. Reed
September 21, 1948 – October 27, 2013

Patricia A. Reed, age 65 of Livingston, Texas passed away on October 27, 2013 in Livingston. She was born on September 21, 1948 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to parents, William M. and Birtie B. (Windle) Thomasson.

Patricia is preceded in death by her father, William M. Thomasson; and brother, William W. Thomasson. She is survived by her daughters, Diahanna Reed of Livingston Texas and Tracy Barstow of Cypress, Texas; son-in-law, Michael Barstow of Cypress, Texas; granddaughter, Jacklyn Reed of Livingston, Texas; grandson-in-law, Jason Board of Livingston, Texas; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Board of Livingston, Texas; great-granddaughter, Delilah Board of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Michael Crittenden of Paradise, California; granddaughter, Taylor Estes of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Marshall Barstow of Cypress, Texas; granddaughter, Allison Barstow of Cypress, Texas; mother, Birtie B. Thomasson of Euless, Texas; sisters, Gwendolyn Thomasson of Monterrey, Mexico and Gayle Light of Hurst, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Pauline Davis
February 19, 1921 – October 27, 2013

Mary Pauline Davis, age 92 of Onalaska, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2013 in Livingston. She was born on February 19, 1921 in Devalls Bluff, Arkansas to parents, George and Nora (Carter) Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, J.D. Kinchen; and son, J.C. Kinchen; She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, L.C. and Barbara Kinchen of Onalaska, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Wayne May of Texarkana, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Susan Kinchen of Hitchcock, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mary Pauline Davis will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Gladewater Memorial Park cemetery in Gladewater, Texas. Rev. Rudy Rios will be officiating the service.

Ernest Doyal Kyle

Ernest Doyal Kyle born December 9, 1930 in Frankfort, Indiana, passed away November 19, 2013 in Rye, Texas at the age of 82 years. Ernest is preceded in death by his wife Betty C. Kyle. He is survived by four children, Bradley Ray Kyle, Patricia Mosel, Ernest Lee Kyle and Carl Eugene Kyle; sister, Patricia Henderson; four grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Kyle was a veteran in the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict and a member of AMVET-TX 0113. Arrangement where handled by Pace Funeral Home.

William “Bill” Sylestine
July 16, 1933 – November 17, 2013

The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas lost one of its leading elders on November 17, 2013, with the passing of William “Bill” Sylestine. He was a fullblood Alabama, one of the last within the Tribe, and a member of the Tapasola Clan. He was born July 16, 1933, and raised on the Reservation. He was married to Marjorie Battise Sylestine for 39 years, until she passed away in 2011. He is survived by his three children, Bethel Hernandez of Elton, Louisiana, Stacie Sylestine of the Reservation, and Len Sylestine (Connie) of Houston, Texas.

Other survivors include grandchildren: Devon Sylestine and Camryn Sylestine of Houston, Texas; Garrique Robinson, William Robinson, and Jacob Ty Robinson, great granddaughter Gabriella Robinson, and great grandson William Bryson Cole Robinson, all of Elton, Louisiana. Great granddaughters Tairia Robinson, and Izabella Robinson of Livingston, Texas also survived him, as well as a host of cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lizzie and Carter Sylestine, his wife Marjorie Sylestine, a son Galen Sylestine, and great grandsons Jayman and Cain Robinson.

Bill was an outstanding athlete in his younger years, and was well-known for his natural athletic talent, playing and competing in a number of sports, but excelling in basketball. He was a graduate of San Jacinto High School in Houston and was a member of its basketball starting five through his high school years. He also played baseball for his school. He won letters in both sports.

San Jacinto High School had a sizeable population of Jewish students, and Bill had many Jewish friends. He was known as the “Indian Jew” because of his surname.

The University of Houston, in recognition of his outstanding athletic ability, awarded him a full athletic scholarship in basketball. After playing for the Cougars under Coach Guy V. Lewis, he went on to become a proud member of the “H” Letterman’s Association of the University. His love of and support for the University of Houston sports was unequaled, and he attended as many games as he could in Houston. Everyone knew Bill was around when they heard his favorite Cougar yell, “Eat em up!!!” In recognition of his loyalty to his alma mater, his favorite U of H ball cap will accompany him on his final journey.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having been stationed at various duty stations. He was a Communications Specialist and held the necessary clearances to perform his duties. He continued playing basketball and baseball wherever he was stationed, traveling extensively with his base team. He as a veteran has been honored by the Tribe over the years.

He was a member of the Indian Presbyterian Church during his entire life. He served as a Deacon, and then as an Elder, for a number of years. Services were held there on November 19, 2013 with Debbie Kleinman, CLE officiating. Pallbearers were Garrique Robinson, William Robinson, Jacob Ty Robinson, Lovelin Poncho.

The Livingston VFW Post 8568 provided military honors at graveside. Cochran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Henrietta Angeline Perry
July 25, 1928 – November 18, 2013

Henrietta Angeline Perry, 85 of Goodrich, Texas passed away on November 18, 2013 in Goodrich, Texas and was born on July 25, 1928 in Hurlock, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, James Perry, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Patterson of Goodrich, Texas; son, Jack Perry of Delaware; grandchildren, Kobe Patterson of Goodrich, Texas, Ronald Marker of Livingston, Texas, Lisa Puckett of Kansas, Patrick Williamson of Livingston, Texas, Krystel Gressett of Livingston, Texas, Kimberly Nelson of Splendora, Texas, and P.J. Scroggin of Splendora, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaden Rushing of Goodrich, Texas, Alexis Marker of Livingston, Texas, Jesse Puckett of Kansas, Megan and Madison Nowlin of Livingston, Texas, Allison Burdick of Livingston, Texas, Vanessa, Carl and Ethan Gressett of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
