Graveside Services for Gloria Jean Baker, 69, of Corrigan, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the Gann Memorial cemetery in Lufkin, Texas with Bro. George Pounds officiating.

Mrs. Baker was born August 22, 1944 in Jasper, Alabama and passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family of Corrigan, Texas.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Delmar Ray; sons, Mark Baker of Nauvoo, AL., Keith Baker and wife DiAnna of Douglass, TX., Adam Baker and wife Alyson of Lufkin, TX., daughters, Lori Brown and husband Charlie of Nauvoo, AL., Donna Cowen of Lufkin, TX., brothers, Greg Hood of Curry, AL., Neal Hood of Jasper, AL., Carter Hood of Jasper, AL., Lowell Hood of Jasper, AL.; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends that will miss her greatly.

Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her parents, Chesley Odis and Esther Lousie Hood; brothers, Ralph and Odis Hood; sisters, Cynthia Hood and Hazel Hood.

Pallbearers are Joshua Baker, Kyle Brown, Kade Bentley, Dakota Cowen, Michael Baker and Luke Baker.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 6977 Main St. in Houston, TX., 77030.

Kris Ann Overstreet
January 10, 1956 – November 2, 2013

Kris Ann Overstreet, age 57 of Shepherd, Texas passed away on November 2, 2013 at her home in Shepherd. She was born on January 10, 1956 in Madrid, Spain, to parents, Virgil and Sadie (Morris) Eason.

Kris is preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, Barry Eason and Gary Eason; daughter, Laurie Ryans; grandchildren, Cody and Christopher Ryans. She is survived by her husband, Doug Overstreet of Shepherd, Texas; son, Shawn Overstreet of Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Nichole Yarbrough of Shepherd, Texas and Donna Tall of Liberty, Texas; grandchildren, Haley Overstreet, Alissa Johnson, Megan Overstreet, Heather Yarbrough, Blake Overstreet, and Jonathan Tall.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at the family residence: 263 Rice Lane, Shepherd, Texas.

Keith Lewis Tallent

Keith Lewis Tallent, 60, of Rye, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. Mr. Tallent was born on February 9, 1953 in Baytown, Texas to parents Tranvil Issac Tallent and Shirley (Angel) Foucheaux. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dwight Tallent.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Tallent of Rye; daughter, Crystal Johnson; son, Nicholas Tallent; grandsons, Blake Tallent and Jacob Johnson; granddaughter, Caitlyn Johnson; Steven and Danita Tallent, brother and sister-in-law; Donald and Betsy Tallent, brother and sister-in-law; Colieen and Bob Morgan, sister and brother-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Magaline Cummings, 81, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Wayne Bickley and Rev. Bryan Dickens officiating. Interment icon will follow at Bold Springs cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Cummings was born October 10, 1932, in New Willard, Texas and passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Ella (Turner) Helmontoller; husband, Loman Cummings; son, Raymond Cummings; daughter-in-law, Pat Cummings and great grandson, Tyler Perren.

She is survived by Billy Cummings, son of Livingston; Jim Curtis and Gail Cummings, son and daughter-in-law of Livingston; Edward and Katrina, son and daughter-in-law of Lumberton; Shurl Simmons, daughter of Beaumont; Doris Herman, sister of Livingston; 8 grandsons; 9 granddaughters and 19 great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Barney Gene Hollingshead

Funeral services for Barney Gene Hollingshead, 76, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mike Meadows officiating. Interment icon will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013, before service begins, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Hollingshead was born April 14, 1937, in Neches, Anderson County, Texas and passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas; was the owner of Barney’s Roller Rink for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney Blu Hollingshead and Mary (teal) Hollingshead; and his best friend, Gene Dueboay.

He is survived by his wife, Leatha Nan Hollingshead of Livingston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Keith Needham of Livingston, Texas and Kathy and Al Campbell of Livingston, Texas; step-children and spouses: Paula and Gary Smith of Wallace, Texas; Guy Cherry of Seabrook, Texas; Jack and Lavonna Thomas of Lovelady, Texas; Leatha and Clint Greenwood of Tomball, Texas; Grandchildren: Kristin Lee, Dakota Lester, Nickolas Blank, Kristopher Campbell, Kyle Needham, Kristi Smith, Ryan Smith, Andrew Smith, Kandice Rodriquez, Shannon Adams, Laura Cherry, Jaqulyn Thomas, Timothy Benyo, Lauren Benyo; Great Grandchildren: Adrien Lee, Leyton Smith, Hudson Smith, Kehlen Jace Smith, Mason Adams; brother and sister-n-law: Glen and Margaret Hollingshead of Lumberton, Texas; sister and brother-in-law: Pat and Jim Massingill of Lufkin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Gunda Anna Windham
May 29, 1927 – October 24, 2013

Gunda Windham, age 86, born May 29, 1927 in Weiden, Germany, passed away peacefully in Livingston, Texas on October 24, 2013 with her husband of 59 years at her side.

Born and raised in Germany, Gunda met her husband, Odis, a native Texan, at the conclusion of WWII. After numerous transfers as an U.S. Army family, the Windham’s settled in the Houston area in 1968. Gunda managed two handbags boutiques, the Cul De Sac and the Pick Pocket in the Galleria for 20 years, before retiring to Lake Livingston in 1991.

Gunda enjoyed her various trips and cruises that took her all over the world. She was an avid gardener and won several local awards for her beautiful garden. Spending time in California with her family brought her great joy. She was no stranger to hard work. She had a strong work ethic but knew how to enjoy life to its fullest. We will all miss her dearly.

Gunda is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Odis; her daughter, Cindy and husband John; sister, Emilie; and two grandsons, Jeff and Scott.

Services for Gunda will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 1, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Interment icon will be held at 2:15 PM that afternoon, at Houston National cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 31, 2013 also at Cochran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans or Girling Hospice.

Howard W. Hunter, III
September 2, 1943 – October 24, 2013

Howard W. Hunter III, age 70 of Goodrich, Texas passed away on October 24, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was born on September 2, 1943 in Darby, Pennsylvania to parents, Howard W. Hunter, Jr. and Myrtle (Brown) Hunter.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife, Georgie Hunter; sons, Howard Hunter and Daniel Hunter; step-daughters, Sherry Starkweather and Valerie Coldwell; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Patricia Rogers; brother, Steven Hunter; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Hunter will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 3:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Bro. Harold Isaacs will be officiating the service. Military honors will be provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568.

Harold "Pat" Dunningham

Harold “Pat” Dunnigan, 65, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2013 at his residence, with his long-time companion, Glenda Jones by his side.

Pat was born on February 5, 1948, in Robinson, Illinois to parents, Harold and Marie Dunnigan, both of whom predecease him. Pat graduated from the University of Iowa after having received a football scholarship.

Pat is survived by Glenda Jones, his long-time companion of Livingston, Texas; Angie and Kenny Dorsey, daughter and son-in-law of Mt. Belview, Texas; Trina and Russell Nelson, daughter and son-in-law of Baytown, Texas; Billy and Irene Patterson, son and daughter-in-law of Livingston, Texas; and Timothy and Elma Patterson, son and daughter-in-law of Livingston, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.

Mrs. Cotten was born December 16, 1976 in Livingston, Texas and passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. She was a correctional officer for IAH Secure Detention Facility.

She is survived by her husband: Jeremie Cotton of Livingston, Texas; daughter: Madison Cotton of Livingston, Texas; sons: Zachary Cotton of Livingston, Texas and Joshua Downes of Livingston, Texas; parents: Jack and Marian Hall of Onalaska, Texas; sister: Meredith Allen of Onalaska, Texas; nephew: Kevin Yates of Onalaska, Texas; aunt and uncle: Paula and Wayne See of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother-in-law: Toby Thorton of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law: Ashley Thorton of Dallas, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Johnson was born September 7, 1932 in Hope, Arkansas and passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. She was a homemaker all her life. She is preceded in death by her parents: John Wesley Millwee and Lizzie Ann (Tipton) Millwee; husband of her children: Charles Russell White Jr.; second husband: Freddie Johnson; and son: Jackie Edward White.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Rose and J.D. Johnson of Leggett, Texas; son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Alice White of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter: Wendy Johnson of Leggett, Texas; granddaughter and husband: Janie and Chris Morris of Porter, Texas; grandson and wife: Tommy and Jeannie Johnson of Hortense, Texas; grandson: Jackie White Jr. of Groveton, Texas; granddaughter: Sunshine Harper of Groveton, Texas; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; special friend: Vivian Green of Livingston, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Patterson was born June 29, 1953 in Kilgore, Texas and passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was self-employed in the concrete construction business for many years. He is preceded in death by his father: William Byrd Patterson Jr.
