Myrtle Lena Jordan
September 15, 1914 – January 16, 2014

Funeral services for Myrtle Lena Jordan, 99, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, January 19, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Schwab City Baptist Church in Schwab City, Texas with Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Holly Grove cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM, prior to service time on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Schwab City Baptist Church.

Myrtle was born on September 15, 1914 in Polk County, Texas and passed away on January 16, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. She worked as a beautician during her lifetime. On November 27, 1945, she married Gordan Lee Jordan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miles Manuel and Lizzie Arkansas (Taylor) Gay; husband, Gordan Lee Jordan, who passed away on April 17, 1997; sisters, Bessie Mae Wheeler, Leonia Estelle Singletary, Emma Lelia Gay, and Cloria Alma Richardson; brothers, Cecil Chandler Gay and Clarence Elmer Gay.

She is survived by niece, Virginia Duhon of Livingston, Texas; nephew and wife, Charles and Sherry Wheeler or Livingston, Texas; nephew and wife, Ercel and Wanda Wheeler of Longview, Texas; niece and husband, Sharon and David Clark of Baytown, Texas; niece, Nellene Cheairs of Lumberton, Texas; niece, Margot Wheeler of Livingston, Texas; sister-in-law, Elinor Gay of Massachusetts; nephew and wife, Paul and Pinky Gay of Massachusetts; niece and husband, Liz Gay and John Pelletier; nephew, Kenneth Richardson of Starks, Louisiana; nephew and wife, Larry Warnock and Jennifer; along with a host of great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Myrtle will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Charles Wheeler, Jr., Justin Wheeler, Tyler Carney, Tom Witte, David Clark, Randy Randolph, and Olan Cain.

Robert Gene “Bob” Oblinger
August 24, 1946 – December 30, 2013

Memorial services for Robert Gene Oblinger, 67, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Restland Memorial Park cemetery in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Trimaine Adkins Sr. officiating.

Mr. Oblinger was born August 24, 1946 in Houston, Texas to parents, Edwin Eugene and Thelma Mae (Cole) Oblinger, and passed away December 30, 2013 in Houston, Texas. In his early years, he developed a passion for mechanics and loved taking things apart and putting them back together. He enjoyed working on cars and fishing was a favorite hobby. He also loved animals and playing the guitar. He met the love of his life, Carol, sometime in his 50’s and they both shared in their passion of the love of Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents: wife: Carol Oblinger; and brother: Richard Kendall Oblinger.

He is survived by his sister: Marsha Pace and husband Terry of Livingston, Texas; cousin: Sandy Hopkins and husband Brian of Houston, Texas; niece: Misty Howell of Livingston, Texas; niece: Stacy Williams and husband Brian of Pasadena, Texas; niece: Crystal Paradysz and husband Steven of Roman Forest, Texas; great nephews: Bryce Howell and Jack Paradysz; great nieces: Kali Williams, Madison Williams and Jillian Paradysz.

Sharon Kay Reynolds
December 6, 1943 – January 15, 2014

Funeral services for Sharon Kay Reynolds, 70, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment icon will follow at Mt. Rose cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Sharon was born December 6, 1943 in Lecompte, Louisiana to parents, Martin Robert and Gussie Opal (Perkins) Reynolds, and passed away on January 15, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, and adopted son, Ricky Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Michael Barnes of Livingston, Texas; step son and wife: Johnny and Diane Valentine; adopted daughter and husband: Shirley and Bobby Sumner; grandchildren: Michael Robert Barnes and Andrea, Tabytha Rodriguez and Esequiel; great grandchildren: Virginia Rodriguez, Jillian Wilson, Amerie Barnes, Mia Barnes; siblings: Bob Reynolds and wife Cheryl, Sandy Hancock and husband Russell, Sheryl Reynolds and husband Dennis; aunt: Dorothy Bracken-Cooper and her daughter Linda Bracken; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Estelle (Parker) Fregia

Services for Estelle (Parker) Fregia, 81, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, in the Pace Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, with Pastor Tim Thompson officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Bluff Creek cemetery outside of Livingston. Mrs. Fregia was born February 28, 1932 in Polk County, Texas, the daughter of the late Annie (Spann) and John Gurvis “Dick” Parker. She passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in a Lufkin nursing facility.

Mrs. Fregia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was retired from WalMart following 25 years of employment. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Sutton Bridges of Lufkin; sisters, Ruby Ince, Barbara Shea and Claudene Daniel, all of Lufkin; brother, John Parker of Lufkin; grandsons, Randy Burns and Scott Burns, both of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fregia was preceded in death by her husband, James Fregia. Mrs. Fregia’s nephews will serve as pallbearers. Services offered by Pace Funeral Home. Al Lamkin was born on May 5, 1951 in El Paso, Texas and passed away on January 13, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He worked as a computer programmer during his lifetime. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Duckworth) Lamkin.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Tedd) Lamkin of Onalaska, Texas; son, Travis Lamkin of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Melissa Lamkin of San Antonio, Texas and Jennifer Lamkin of San Antonio, Texas; father, Alfred W. Lamkin of Dublin, Texas; brother, John Lamkin of Florida; sister, Marianne Lamkin of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda, Brittney, Jason, Kristina, Joseph, Matthew; ten great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Mona Dell Fisher

Funeral Services for Mona Dell “Wiley” Fisher, 85, of Livingston, TX will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2014 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, TX with Bro. George Pounds officiating. Interment icon will be in Stryker cemetery in Corrigan, TX.

Mrs. Fisher was born July 6, 1928 in Harris County, TX and went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014 in the Timberwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Livingston, Texas.

She loved her Lord and was committed to her church when she was able to attend. Mona loved to cook cakes and pies. She was famous for her peanut brittle and fudge. When family visited they was always greeted with an immaculate house. Mona graduated from Barbers Hill School in Mt. Belvieu, TX in 1946. There were only 6 graduates.

Mona is survived by her son, Dennis Rowe Talent and wife Laura of Tucson, AZ, William Fisher and wife Mary Alice of Corrigan, TX; sisters, Sylvia Advant and husband Arnold of Lometa, TX, Joyce Barclay and husband Maurice of Deer Park, TX; 13 nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss her greatly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Jackson “Slim” Fisher, parents, William Douglas and Bessie Eveloa Shelton Wiley; sisters, Wanda Wiley, Laverne Mattchet, Marie Wiley Hayes, Garnel Wiley; brothers, Douglas Wiley, Johnnie Wiley and Marzel Wiley.

Pallbearers: Glenn Jackson, William Fisher and Mark Fisher.

James "Leonard" McLain

James “Leonard” McLain, 85, passed away on December 13th in Pearland. He joined in death his beloved wife of 47 years, Evelyn, who left in April. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Lee McLain and Mary Rachel McLain, and four brothers, Emmett, Doug, Garland, and Lee Roy McLain. Leonard is survived by three children, James Daniel McLain, Cynthia McLain Stephan, and Douglas Todd McLain; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother Rab McLain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonard was born in Normangee, Texas in 1928, and later moved with his family to Channelview. Professionally he worked as a heavy equipment operator on various construction projects throughout Houston and the Gulf Coast area, including some downtown Houston skyscrapers and the Bay City Nuclear power plant. He was proud to be a member of Union Local 450 for 65 years. Leonard was also a Scottish rite free mason, and served in the Army reserves for ten years. In retirement, he and his wife moved to Dennard, Arkansas and later to the Forest Hills subdivision of Livingston.

Leonard was an amazing problem solver, but with an artist’s eye for ingenuity and creativity. A very capable man that could build or fix just about everything. He also loved the outdoors. As a sportsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends, and as a gardener, he grew impressive vegetable gardens, and beautiful fruit and pecan trees. Leonard learned to play numerous musical instruments on his own, piano, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, etc., and loved to sing as soon as he started playing.

He never met a stranger, and with his wife, created a warm wonderful life for both of them. Leonard is missed and will always be fondly remembered and loved by those who knew him.

Jackie Lynn Nash

Funeral services for Mr. Jackie Nash will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Corrigan Funeral Home in Corrigan, TX with Pastor Cindy Doran and Bro. Charlie Hodge officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Damascus cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Nash was born October 17, 1953, in Corrigan, TX, to Linwood Eugene and Lois Louise Payne Nash and went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2014, in Corrigan, TX.

Jackie desired to have a reunion with the Corrigan “Bulldog” football team members of “71-72”. He graduated from Corrigan-Camden High School. Later he attended Waco College and received a degree in the Culinary Arts then attended Angelina College in Lufkin, TX where he pursued his love for theater. He participated as a T.A.S.O. Refree, Professional Clown known as “PorkChop” for multiple charities.

He was preceded death by his father, Linwood Eugene Nash, Sr.; brother, Linwood Eugene Jr; grandchildren, Alison Emerson, Adison Emerson, Graceson Emerson; grandparents, Oreal & Lois Payne and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jackie is survived by his daughter, Charity Emerson and husband Bruce of Crosby, TX; mother, Lois Louise Nash, sister, Jeni Taylor and husband Michael of Highlands, TX; brothers, Tony Nash and wife Linda of Huntington, TX, Mickey Nash and wife Mandy of Diboll, TX, Terry Nash of Diboll, TX; grandchildren, Jayson, Madison, Dawlson, Devin, Braedon, Logan; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and a host of friends who will miss him greatly.

Martha was born July 24, 1934 in Logansport, Louisiana to parents, James and Annie (Stept) LaFitte, and passed away on January 12, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marvin C. Bryant; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband: Jimmy McDaniel of Point Blank, Texas; sons: Craig Bryant of Deer Park, Texas, Mark Bryant of Deer Park, Texas, Joseph H. McDaniel of Florida; sister: Lilwynne Clements; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Smith was born June 3, 1925 in Dayton, Texas to parents, William Thomas and Leatrice (Smith) Smith, and passed away on January 9, 2014 in Katy, Texas. He was a member of the Trinity Lodge #14 AF & AM and a member of Blanchard Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Leatrice Nosrat; brother: Kelso T. Smith; sister: Chrystal Durham; grandson: Michael Nosrat; and wives: Lillian Smith and Viola Smith.

He is survived by his daughter: Tina Marie Johnson of Katy, Texas; grandchildren: Michelle Nosrat, Maria Nosrat, Trevor Johnson, Tracie Johnson; son-in-law: Ramin Nosrat; niece: Marsha Zamzow; nephew: Jim Durham; and numerous other relatives and friends.
