Thomas S. “Tom” King Jr.
June 18, 1952 – March 28, 2015

Memorial services for Thomas S. “Tom” King Jr., 62, of Houston, Texas, will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Thomas S. (Tom) King Jr. passed away March 28, 2015, at home in Houston, Texas. Born June 18, 1952 to Tomas S. King Sr. and Bettye (Stripling) King in Dallas, Texas. He attended Spring Branch Public Schools in Houston and spent his senior year at North Yarmouth Academy in 1971. He attended the University of Houston for two years and later Austin Community College where he graduated in computer sciences with honors in 1987. He was married in 1976 to Bryant Smith for two years.

During his life, Tom was employed by Motorola Corp. for many years and later contracted with major companies programing computer operations. He was involved with his fellow motorcycle riders and enjoyed many weekend rides through Texas byroads and lanes. He also maintained an interest in short wave radio and served as President of a local club. He was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bettye S. King; uncles, Harvey B. King, James A. King, Dr. Robert Young; aunts, Dr. Joyce Davis and Margaret Oliver.

He is survived by his brothers, J. David King, Joseph M. King; sisters, Camille King Carter, Carol King Hoch, and Suzanne King; uncles, Dr. Phil David, Bruce Oliver; aunts, Bobbie King, Celia Young; 15 first cousins; 14 nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Warren Joseph Madere
July 3, 1924 – April 2, 2015

Funeral services for Warren Joseph Madere, 90, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchock, Texas with Father Chacko officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Warren Joseph Madere, 90, died at his home in Livingston, Texas, on April 2.
Mr. Madere was born on the banks of the Mississippi River in Luling, La., on July 3, 1924. He was one of five brothers, the sons of Bertha and Richard Madere. The family lived in a rambling old house on Easy Street, where life was anything but easy. The brothers picked up whatever odd jobs they could after their father died in 1928.

Warren Madere graduated from Hahnville High School and eventually made his way to Texas in pursuit of employment and a better life. He followed Louisiana relatives to Texas City, Texas, where he eventually went to work for the U.S. Postal Service
In Texas City, Mr. Madere met the love of his life, Iris McWhirter. The two were married 66 years until her death in 2013.
Mr. Madere remained at the Texas City Post Office until his retirement at age 55. Not long afterward, he moved to Livingston, Texas, where he lived until his death.

He is survived by a son, Mike Madere of Houston; and a brother, Lloyd “Took” Madere of Luling, La. He is preceded in death by his wife, Iris Madere: a son, Mark Madere; mother, Bertha Madere; father, Richard Madere; and brothers Richard Madere II, John Madere and Lester Madere.

He has laid to rest on April 7 at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.

Jimmie Lee Pickens
June 25, 1922 - April 1, 2015

Funeral services for Jimmie Lee Pickens, 92, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, April 7, 2015. At Chestwood Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. Public viewing will begin at 9:30 am until service time. Interment icon will follow at St. Andrews cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.

Funeral services for Afton Curtis Newman Jr., 81, of Goodrich, Texas, will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Goodrich, Texas with Rev. Wade Floyd and Rev. Tommy McManus officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 5, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Newman was born November 25, 1933 in Enid, Mississippi to parents, Afton Curtis Newman Sr. and Lona Estelle (McCullar) Newman, and passed away April 3, 2015 in Goodrich, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Newman; brother, Walter Newman; and sister, Louise McNulty.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry Newman and Betty Jean of Livingston, Texas, Terry Newman and Cindy of Dickenson, Texas, Mike Newman and Arlene of Austin, Texas, Kenneth Newman and Toni of Goodrich, Texas, Randy Newman and Pam of Goodrich, Texas; daughters, Judy Kennon and Rick of Center, Texas, Linda Newman of Goodrich, Texas; grandchildren, Dawn, Shaun, Tera, James, Sarah, Bernette, Andy, Elvis, Kim, Kimberly, Steven, Randy Jr., Haley, Evan, John, Lydia, Matther; a host of great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew Boyd, Randy Newman Jr., James Newman, Andy Newman, Lane Banville, Evan Newman, John Kennon.

November 26, 1938 – April 2, 2015

Visitation for Margot Wheeler, 76, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Wheeler was born November 26, 1938 in Heidelberg, West Germany to parents, Johann Zimmerman and Johanna (Olbert) Zimmerman, and passed away April 2, 2015 in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jarvis Alton Wheeler; son, Michael Ray Wheeler; sister, Ursula Stein; and brother, Herbert Zimmerman.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Beal of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Beal of Houston, Texas, Anna Beal of Houston, Texas, Alton Beal of Tyler, Texas; great grandchildren, Chloe Richart of Houston, Texas, Olivia Patrick of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Johan Stein of Germany; nephew, Peter Stein of Germany; sister-in-law and husband, Sherry and Charles Wheeler of Livingston, Texas; brother-in-law and wife, Ursula Ray and Wanda Wheeler of Longview, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Seagroves was born January 13, 1961 in Livingston, Texas to parents, Elbridge Seagroves and Iva (Murry) Seagroves, and passed away March 31, 2015 in Canon City, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barbara Seagroves.

He is survived by his daughters, Tameka Seagroves Neher of Loco, Oklahaoma, Jessica Seagroves Lester of Livingston, Texas, Alicia Seagroves of Healdton, Oklahoma; brothers, Billy Wayne Seagroves of Colorado, Elbridge Seagroves II of Healdton, Oklahoma, Ronnie Seagroves of Goodrich, Texas; sisters, Patricia Seagroves Roach of Livingston, Texas, Sandra Seagroves Reynolds of Blanchard, Texas, Tina Seagroves Faircloth of Goodrich, Texas; grandchildren, Selena Steel, Gabby Steel, Shameron Steel Jr., Brittany Lester, Krista Lester, Leila Lester, Tyler Tipton, Dustin Tipton, Chasity Tipton, Nolan Tipton IV, Nathan Williams; great grandchildren, Paisley Hicks, Audree Jiles; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Vernon D. LeDoux
August 6, 1923 – April 2, 2015

Funeral services for Vernon D. LeDoux, 91, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment icon will follow in the Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time in the First Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas.

Mr. LeDoux was born August 6, 1923 in Eunice, Louisiana to parents, Tierre Joseph LeDoux and Clementine (Dissenberger) LeDoux, and passed away April 2, 2015 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Dolores “Doie” (Alford) LeDoux.

He is survived by his daughters, Verna “Dee” Foreman of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Marilyn Landry and Allen of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Arlene Jordan and John of Sulphur, Louisiana, Gail Herbert and Richard of Lafayette, Louisiana, Lori Wright and Fred of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Vicki Denton and Allen of Houston, Texas; son, Michael Brown and Linda of Houston, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Best was born February 25, 1930 in Malakoff, Texas to parents, R.C. Lehew Sr. and Alma (Thomas) Lehew, and passed away April 2, 2015 in Cleveland, Texas. During her lifetime she was the secretary for the Women’s Auxiliary American Legion Post #312 and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #8568. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Best Sr.; brothers, Lloyd Lehew, Gerald Lehew, R.C. Lehew; sisters, Kathryn Melton, Loretta Johnson; and grandchild, Michelle Best.

She is survived by her son, Jack Best Jr. of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Klein, Courtney Best, Krystal Morrow, Bridgette Hotchkiss; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Lehew and Cookie of Metairie, Louisiana, Gary Lehew of La Porte, Texas, Stoke “DeeDee” Reader of Houston, Texas; sisters, Marlene Milligan and Pat of New Braunfels, Texas, Robbie Whitley and Don of Edna, Texas, Connie Fort of Deer Park, Texas, Terri Price and Don of Baytown, Texas, Darla Backus of Deer Park, Texas, Glenda Adams of Huntsville, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years William Norman Vest which passed away on March 28, 2015; sons, Roland Lee Vest and William Norman Vest Jr.; sister, Betty Jean Dement. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Pace Funeral Home, 200 FM 350 North, Livingston, Texas 77351 on Sunday, April 5, 2015. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday April 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2590 Hwy 190 West, Livingston, Texas 77351 with Father Clifton Labbe, S.V.D. officiating. Interment icon will be at 2:00 P.M. at Earthman Resthaven cemetery, 13102 North Fwy. Houston, Texas 77060, Mary will have military honors presented by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

William Norman Vest

William Norman Vest of Livingston, Texas passed away on March 28, 2015. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Willie N. Vest and Emma Charles Vest. William was preceded in death by both his parents; sons, Roland Lee Vest and William Norman Vest Jr.; Mary Amelia his wife of 65 years passed away on March 30, 2015. A Celebration of William's life was held on March 31, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Clifton Labbe, S.V.D. officiating. Interment icon was held at Earthman Resthaven cemetery in Houston, Texas. William was honored by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
