Frank R. Balthrop, 1914-1998
Service for Frank R. Balthrop, 84, of Slidell was to be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Slidell with Dickie Amyx to officiate. Burial was to follow at Slidell Cemetery.
Balthrop died Nov. 26, 1998, in Slidell.
Born Nov. 9, 1914, in Denton, Balthrop was an iron worker and in building construction before his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Iron Worker Union Local 263. He married Maggie Sue Ballinger on Dec. 27, 1940, and attended school in Slidell and later served on the school board. He also served on the water board, and he raised cattle for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slidell and served as a deacon until his death.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Balthrop of Electra; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 nephews.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice, 304-B Walnut Street, Decatur, Texas 76234 or to the building fund of the First Baptist Church in Slidell.

Lottie Ward Oldham, 1928-1998
Graveside service for Lottie Stanford Ward Oldham, 70, of Bridgeport will be Sunday at Waurika Cemetery in Waurika, Okla. The Rev. Ellen Abshire will officiate.
Oldham died Nov. 27, 1998, in Decatur.
Born Jan. 6, 1928, in Atlee, Okla., Oldham had resided in Bridgeport the past nine years. She was formerly a dietitian at Park Haven Healthcare Center in Bridgeport and Bridgeport Care Center and was a member of Cates Street Baptist Church. She married Brice Oldham in Oklahoma, and they were married 24 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Stanford, and her second husband, Short Ward. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Brice Oldham; three daughters, Jan Tiller, Betty Murray and Kim VanHoose; several brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Jandy Kenette Mooney, 1970-1998
Memorial service for Jandy Kenette Mooney, 28, of Decatur was to be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sycamore Baptist Church in Decatur.
Mooney was born Jan. 24, 1970, in Denton and died Nov. 25, 1998.
Survivors include her mother, Joyce Crawford of Saginaw; her father, Tim Mooney of Lake Texoma; a sister, Mindy Forrest of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Bobby Crawford of Rusk; grandmother, Lavon Crawford of Rusk; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lois B. Fischer, 1940-1998
Service for Lois B. Fischer, 58, of Decatur was Friday at Laurel Land Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Fischer died Nov. 24, 1998, in Fort Worth.
Born March 29, 1940, in Reidsville, N.C., she was a housewife and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Gus S. Fischer of Decatur; two sons, Harold Wayne Fischer of Cleburne and Gus E. Fischer of Campwood; four brothers, Thomas Johnson and Bobby Johnson, both of Reidsville, James Johnson of Anderson, S.C., and Roy Lee Johnson of Rock Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Faye Johnson of Reidsville and Geraldine Mounce of Greensboro, N.C.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Edna Alice Gant, 1916-1998
Service for Edna Alice Gant, 82, of Boyd was Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd. Jimmy Withers and Phillip Wayne Yoder presided with burial at Dido Cemetery.
Gant died Nov. 24, 1998, in Decatur.
Born July 16, 1916, in Boyd, she was a retired registered nurse who worked for many years at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. She was also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Fort Worth. She married Vearbie L. Gant on Dec. 21, 1952.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, James Rickman and a sister, Joann Yoder.
Survivors include a brother, Bill (W.E.) Rickman of Boyd; two sisters, Edith Riley and Lois Beaty, both of Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Don Beaty, Eric Beaty, David Rickman, Audie Westmoreland, Russell Stephens and Eddie Caraway.

Steven Dwane Troutwine, 1955-1998
Graveside service for Steven Dwane Troutwine, 45, of Alvord will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Alvord Cemetery. Jerry Pittman will preside.
Troutwine died Nov. 27, 1998, in Decatur.
Born Aug. 22, 1955, in Illinois, he was a machinist. He married Robin Mae Monnahan on Sept. 10, 1983, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife of Alvord; a son, Keith Troutwine of Alvord; a daughter, Samantha Troutwine of Alvord; four brothers, Randy Troutwine of Waterloo and Terry, Larry and Gary Wentz, all of Waterloo; and one grandchild, Summer Troutwine of Alvord.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home in Decatur.
J.G. (Jim George) Gage, 1911-1999
Graveside service for J.G. (Jim George) Gage, 87, of Denton was to be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Gage was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Sycamore to Merlin and Buna Griffeth Gage. He worked as a farm and ranch hand until he married Nona Reding on Dec. 28, 1933. He was employed by El Plaso Gas Co. and later moved to Denton where he worked for Moore Business Forms for 25 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Nona; two sons, Jimmy Allen Gage of Aztec, N.M., and Jerry L. Gage of Denton; two sisters, Lavada Griggs and Roberta Buchanan, both of Decatur; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
George Butterfield was to officiate at the funeral. Pallbearers were to be Mark Gage, Blake Gage, Jason Gage, Jack Reeves, Calvin Buchanan, Clifford Buchanan and Stacey Hunt.

Donna L. Champion, 1948-1999
Funeral for Donna L. Champion, 50, of Atlanta, Ga., was Monday in Decatur with burial in Alvord Cemetery.
Champion died Jan. 20, 1999, in Atlanta.
She was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Tarrant County.
Champion was personnel executive for the Operations and Technology Group of Bank of America. She was the niece of Wallis Champion of Decatur, and she was preceded in death by her father, John R. Champion of Alvord.
A Texas native, Champion began her banking career at Austin National Bank in 1979. She worked as a manager in a number of technology-related areas in both Austin and Dallas, where she later served as manager of Funds Transfer for NationsBank. In 1990, she became the personnel executive for the NationsBanc Services Company, a responsibility that eventually led to her move to Atlanta.
When NationsBank merged with Bank America last October, Champion was named technology and operations personnel executive for the merged company.
She was a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Leyendecker of Atlanta; her mother, Juanita Champion of Irving; and a brother, Ronald Champion of Fort Worth.

Eugenia McGraw, 1921-1999
Graveside service for Eugenia McGraw, 77, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Cemetery in Wise County. The Rev. Jerry Miller will officiate.
McGraw died Jan. 28, 1999, in Decatur.
Born April 12, 1921, in Decatur, McGraw was in retail sales for Montgomery Ward for 37 years. She was a member of the Cornell Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Survivors include two sisters, Dale Hoyl of Decatur and Jaunita Cooley of Conchas Dam, N.M., and several nieces and nephews.

Loval Evalena Ashworth
1907-2000
Service for Loval Evalena Ashworth, 92, of Alvord was Monday, April 10, at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Burial followed at the Alvord Cemetery in Alvord.
Ashworth died on April 8, 2000, in Decatur. She was born on Aug. 29, 1907, in Sunset.
Ashworth was retired. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was married to the late Cloyd Leander Ashworth in Alvord in 1926.
She is survived by two sons, Earl Ashworth of Porter and Leon Ashworth of Snyder; four daughters, Lavonia Sorrell of Alvord, Lavorn Cunningham of Mineral Wells, Louise Ford of Graham and Sue Barton of Minden, La.; three sisters, Nevela Echols of Garland, Ozema Beaver and Jewell Dinnard of Waurika, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Ford, Bill Sorrell, Charles Barton, Stacy Bassinger, Larry Bradshaw, Ray Williams, Tony Kelly and Ray Cunningham.
