Willie Mae Foster
1908-2000
Graveside service for Willie Mae Foster, 91, of Decatur was to be Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. The Rev. Jerry Miller was to preside, assisted by the Rev. Jack Gatewood.
Foster died on April 14, 2000, in Decatur.
She was born on July 7, 1908, in Stoney.
Foster was a secretary for Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She married the late W.L. Foster on Sept. 29, 1929, in Decatur. He preceded her in death in 1948.
Foster was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Foster is survived by a brother, George Cunnius of Decatur; two sisters, Florene Creen of Decatur and Lorene Creen of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.
Eunice Edna Hilton
1914-2000
Service for Eunice Edna Hilton, 85, of Decatur is Sunday, April 16, 2000, in the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. The Rev. Jack Gatewood is to preside. Burial is to follow at Preskitt Cemetery in Wise County.
Hilton died on April 14, 2000, in Decatur.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1914, in Dekalb.
Hilton was a retired seamstress for Lorch-Westway Manufacturing. She married the late Homer Leo Hilton on May 18, 1933, in Texarkana, Ark. He died on Feb. 5, 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Michael Hilton.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Hilton of Houston; a daughter, Patricia Hilton of Bluefield, West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.

Shirley Frances Kissner
1938-2000
Graveside service for Shirley Frances Kissner, 61, of Fort Worth, was to be Saturday, April 15, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Princeton.
Kissner died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in Fort Worth.
Born Sept. 16, 1938, in Farmersville, she is survived by three daughters, Vicki Kissner of Washington, Cindy Kissner of Alvarado, Debbie Kissner Myers of Fort Worth; three brothers, Walter White of Grand Prairie, Jerry W. White of Waxahachie and Monte D. White of Lavon; a sister, Marie Barnes of Kemp; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Owen Jerral Landers
1922-2000
Service for Owen Jerral Landers, 78, mayor of Aurora, will be Monday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Newark. Burial will follow at Bluebonnet Cemetery in Colleyville. Family visitation is Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m. at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Landers died Thursday, April 13, 2000, after a long battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 14, 1922, to Oren and Dosia Landers in Sanger, he served in the Air Force during World War II. He moved to Hurst in 1955 and worked as a maintenance supervisor for Bell Helicopter for 33 years. He was a member of Local Union #218. After retiring in 1983, he moved to Aurora where he was elected mayor. He held the office unopposed for more than 13 years until his death.
He was active in the Community Christmas Pals and helped rebuild Grace Baptist Church in Newark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerlene Landers; daughters Cheryl Landers Collins and Cathy Landers Hale; his parents; his brothers, Herman, Lewis, Johnnie and Nolan and a sister, Janie Snow.
He is survived by a son, Jerral F. and wife Lynnette Landers of Hurst; grandsons, Cory Landers of Corpus Christi, Kelly Landers and Cody Landers of Hurst; granddaughters, Michelle Harris and Misty Collins of Hurst; his sisters, Marie Calvert of Fort Worth and Kay Whistler and husband Bob of Decatur; sisters-in-law Mae Landers of Denton, Colleen Landers of Fort Worth and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Whistler, Harold Landers, Donnie Landers, Tim Landers, John Green and Chuck Rinehart.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace Baptist Church in Newark.

Loval Evalena Ashworth
1907-2000
Service for Loval Evalena Ashworth, 92, of Alvord was Monday, April 10, at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Burial followed at the Alvord Cemetery in Alvord.
Ashworth died on April 8, 2000, in Decatur. She was born on Aug. 29, 1907, in Sunset.
Ashworth was retired. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was married to the late Cloyd Leander Ashworth in Alvord in 1926.
She is survived by two sons, Earl Ashworth of Porter and Leon Ashworth of Snyder; four daughters, Lavonia Sorrell of Alvord, Lavorn Cunningham of Mineral Wells, Louise Ford of Graham and Sue Barton of Minden, La.; three sisters, Nevela Echols of Garland, Ozema Beaver and Jewell Dinnard of Waurika, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Ford, Bill Sorrell, Charles Barton, Stacy Bassinger, Larry Bradshaw, Ray Williams, Tony Kelly and Ray Cunningham.

John N. Bunnell
1915-2000
Service for John N. Bunnell, 84, of Decatur, was Monday, April 10, in the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. The Rev. Carolyn Herbert presided. Burial followed in the International Order of Odd Fellows Riverview Cemetery in Monticello, Ind.
Bunnell died on April 8, 2000, in Decatur.
He was born on June 27, 1915, in Monticello.
Bunnell was retired. He was married to the late Daphne Bunnell for 63 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Paradise and was an avid orchid horticulturalist.
Bunnell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Raymond Polone of Decatur; two brothers, Don Bunnell of Kokomo, Ind. and Eddie Bunnell of Young Harris, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Wagoner of Lafayette, Ind. and Ellen Low of Monticello; four grandchildren, including Renee Thrasher of Decatur and Ryan and Kristi Polone of Boyd; and nine great-grandchildren, including Kristina, Tiffany, Nick and Cody Thrasher of Decatur.

William Leonard Campbell
1964-2000
Graveside service for William Leonard Campbell, 36, of Boyd was to be Wednesday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at the East Bridgeport Cemetery. The Rev. Woody Godby was to officiate.
Campbell died on April 5, 2000, in Wise County.
He was born on March 31, 1964, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Campbell was a self-employed laborer.
He is survived by no immediate family members.

Altha Mae Dean
1920-2000
Service for Altha Mae Dean, 80, of Boyd was Sunday, April 9, at the Boyd Church of Christ. Steve Weeks presided. The eulogy was given by Guinn Arrington. Burial followed in the Boyd Cemetery.
Dean died on April 7, 2000, in Decatur.
She was born on March 12, 1920, in Springtown.
Dean was the daughter of Jim Morrow and Amanda Robinson Morrow of Springtown. She married Alvin “Dizzy” Dean on Dec. 1, 1939, in Marietta, Okla. She was a member of the Boyd Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1995.
Dean is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Pam Dean of Boyd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Sam Connally and Judy and Jimmy Wilson, all of Boyd; a brother, Hershel Morrow of Granbury; two sisters, Gladys Coleman and Ellen Hutcheson of Springtown; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stacy Connally, Jody Wilson, John Dean, Mark Lyon, Jerry Pipes and Joe Arrington.

Marguerite McLain
1904-2000
Graveside service for Marguerite McLain, 94, of Lubbock was Tuesday, April 11, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. The Rev. Ken Horn officiated.
McLain died April 9, 2000, in Lubbock.
Born Sept. 9, 1904, in North Little Rock, Ark., she married the late Harold McLain on Nov. 4, 1937. She was a homemaker. She moved to California in 1983 and later to San Angelo and then to Lubbock in 1998. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo. McLain was formerly of Decatur.
Survivors include her brother, Hillary Alan Leslie of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Albert Leroy Scaff
1914-2000
Service for Albert Leroy Scaff, 85, of Gainesville, was Tuesday, April 11, at Flatwood Baptist Church in Wise County. The Rev. Mark King officiated, assisted by Greg Johnson. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1.
Scaff died on April 7, 2000, in Gainesville.
He was born on June 28, 1914, in Sulphur, Okla.
Scaff was retired from maintenance work for Texas Utilities, now TXU. He married the late Tommie Jo Driskell Scaff in Decatur and was a member of the Flatwood Baptist Church.
Scaff is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Shelly Scaff of Gainesville; a brother, Edward Scaff of Brownwood; a sister, Alvina Scaff Cox of Temple; and two grandchildren, Heather Naomi and Valarie Lynn of Gainesville.
Pallbearers were Ray Driskell, Barry and Johnny Scaff, Paul Bandy, and Gary and Buddy Lasater.

Jimmie Dale Simmons
1953-2000
Graveside service for Jimmie Dale Simmons, 46, of Chico was Tuesday, April 11, at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Ray Wells officiated.
Simmons died April 7, 2000, in Chico.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1953, in Dallas.
He married Mickey Wilder in July 1976 in Ardmore, Okla. He was a chef and a member of the Church of Christ.
Simmons is survived by his wife, Mickey; two sons, Matthew and Sean Simmons of Chico; a daughter, Sarah Simmons of Chico; two brothers; and four sisters.

.T. Bolin
1916-2000
Service for J.T. Bolin, 83, of Boyd was to be Wednesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at the Christian Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd. The Rev. Jimmy Withers was to officiate and burial was to follow at Boyd Cemetery.
Bolin died April 17, 2000, in Boyd.
Born Nov. 19, 1916, in Justin, Bolin lived in Boyd and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was retired from General Portland Concrete Plant of Fort Worth. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the American Quarter Horse Association. Bolin was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ethel Bolin and Richard Martinez; two brothers, Tom and Virgil Bolin; two sisters, Jessie Followville and Dorothy Palmer; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Evelyn Lavelle Goodger
1925-2000
Service for Evelyn Lavelle Goodger, 74, of Boyd was to be Wednesday, April 19, at the First Baptist Church of Boyd. The Rev. Bill May and Jackie Smith were to officiate and burial was to follow at Boyd Cemetery.
Goodger died April 16, 2000, in Boyd.
Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Boyd, Goodger was a lifetime resident of Boyd, a homemaker and a retired clerk for Continental State Bank of Boyd. She married Pat Goodger on March 18, 1945, in Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, W.L. “Pat” Goodger of Boyd; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sherri Goodger; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tim Taylor; a brother and sister-in-law, T.J. and Patricia Rasbury; a sister, Ruby Compton; two sisters-in-law, Emily Ann Tatum and husband O.T. and Nelda Bassham and husband Don; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Shelley, Kris, McKinley and McCade; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were to be Gary, Larry, Kenny and Kevin Rasbury, Jimmy Etter and Jorge Patino.

Ima Houston Laymance
1907-2000
Service for Ima Houston Laymance, 92, of Decatur, was to be Wednesday, April 19, at Greenwood Garden Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial was to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Laymance died Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Sept. 6, 1907, she was a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Harris Hospital and had lived in Decatur nine years. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her son, Guy Richard Laymance.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Ray and wife Margaret Laymance of Decatur and Roger Dale Laymance of Fort Worth; a daughter, Toy Lea and husband Johnie Owen of San Angelo; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

J.A. White
1913-2000
Service for J.A. White, 87, of Boyd, was Monday, April 17, at the Boyd Church of Christ. Steve Weeks officiated. Burial followed at the Boyd Cemetery.
White died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at his home in Boyd.
Born March 4, 1913, in Odell, he had resided in Boyd since 1937. He was a longtime owner of White’s Supermarkets in Boyd until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Pauline Wilson on Sept. 2, 1936, in Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Charles Christopher Cooper and Henry Perkins Cooper III.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline White; his son, Ronnie White; his daughter, Paula White; two sisters, Laura Musick and Virginia Hayes; two grandchildren, Forrest and Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Chris, Alexander and Olivia and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Alvin Bassham, Jackie L. Read, Robert White, Alvin Baker, Jr., Ronnie Harvey, Gary Munn and Jimmy Wilson.
