Lilia Maxine Inabnett
1914-2002
Graveside service for Lilia Maxine Inabnett, 87, of Decatur was Friday, Jan. 25, at Oaklawn Cemetery.
The Rev. Rusty Hedges officiated.
Inabnett died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in Decatur.
Born March 3, 1914, in Decatur, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William T. Inabnett.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Inabnett of Dallas and Bill Inabnett of Daingerfield; one sister, Virginia Sensibaugh of Gainesville and four grandchildren.

Fred Ely Mooney
1917-2002
Graveside service for Fred Ely Mooney, 84, of Decatur will be at Rock Cemetery in Duke, Okla.
Mooney died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in Decatur.
Born June 12, 1917, in Decatur, he was an auto mechanic in his own garage until his retirement at age 75. Mooney grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School. He entered the U.S. Army on April 11, 1941. He fought in four major battles in World War II, including Normandy and at Ardennes in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded four Bronze Stars and received an honorable discharge on June 17, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee Blackburn Mooney; brothers, H.M. Mooney, Orus M. Mooney, Booth Mooney, Dan Mooney and a sister Ruth McCain.
He is survived by a son, Fred Mooney of Double Oak; one daughter, Geri Backhaus of Rapid City, S.D.; five grandsons and one granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews in Decatur.

Cecil Romonth Bracey
1915-2002
Service for Cecil Romonth Bracey, 86, of Boyd was Friday, Jan. 25, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. The Rev. Dannie Gwinn of New Covenant Church officiated. Burial followed at Crestview Memorial Park.
Bracey died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, in Boyd.
Born Dec. 17, 1915, in Haskell, Bracey retired from Sears Roebuck with more than 20 years of employment. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bracey was also a paper carrier for Times Record News for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. Bracey in October 1998.
He is survived by his son, Eddie Bracey of Denton; his daughters, Linda Lee and husband Todd of Boyd, Celia Peters of Wichita Falls; his grandson Elvis Ray Peters, Jr. of Wichita Falls and granddaughter, Kimberly Stone of Hurst.

Jimmy John Dean Jr.
1976-2002
Service for Jimmy John Dean Jr., 25, of Boyd was Friday, Jan. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Boyd. Mark Autry and Steve Weeks officiated. Burial followed at Boyd Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Burch, Brent Wilson, Marty Cain, Johnny Williams, Richard Patton, Boomer Pegues, Bill McCurdy and Eddie Steel. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Shepherd, Justin Turner, Dale Peddles, Junior Whittenburg, Jim West, John Jackson and Mark Romine.
Dean died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in Decatur.
Born March 30, 1976, in Fort Worth to Jimmy and Pam (Gillentine) Dean, he fought a courageous battle with cancer. He graduated from Boyd High School in 1994. He was an employee of North Texas Coring.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Altha Mae and Alvin “Dizzy” Dean and his aunt, Peggy Gillentine.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy Sr. and Pam Dean; his sister, Laura Dean; his girlfriend, Rene Burch; his grandparents, JoAnn and Wally Martin and Walter and Teresa Gillentine; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Paul Parker
1968-2002
Graveside service for Paul Parker, 34, of Fort Worth, who has family members in Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, in Greenwood Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Westworth Village Baptist Temple in Westworth Village.
Parker died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Newark.
He was born May 7, 1968, in Burbank, Calif. He was a framer.
Parker is survived by his mother, Wanda Bentley; grandmother, Imogene McIntire; a daughter, Courtney Marshall; three sisters, Pamela Parker, Cindy Viaud and Tina Franks; two uncles, Ronnie McIntire and Raley McIntire and several nieces and nephews.

Clayton R. Terry
1971-2002
Service for Clayton R. Terry, 31, of Haslet was Friday, Aug. 2, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Terry died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Haslet.
Born May 26, 1971, in Fort Worth, he was a technician.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Terry; a son, Cameron Ray Terry; a daughter, Courtney McKenna Terry, all of Haslet; his father, Douglas of Haslet; his mother, Elizabeth of Tarrant County; two brothers, Odie Terry and wife Marti of North Richland Hills and Doug Terry and wife Vera of Decatur; a sister, Terri Raye of Dallas and a grandmother, Thelma Terry of Fort Worth.

George Leon Hall
1917-2002
Graveside service for George Leon Hall, 85, of Bridgeport was to be Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Chaplain Brent Phinney was to officiate.
Hall died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Bridgeport.
Born Jan. 23, 1917, in Bokchito, Okla, he had lived in the Bridgeport area for the past 33 years. He had the nickname of “Windshield Wiper.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva in 1994; two sons, Leon in 1975 and Earnest in 1965 and his parents, Frank and Alice Hall.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Hall and wife Jane of Bridgeport and Wesley Hall and wife Beverly of Chico; two daughters, Rebekah Miller and husband Norman of Bowie and Deborah Greston and husband Gino of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Donald Marion Absher
1939-2002
Service for Donald Marion Absher, 62, of Alvord was to be Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Bill Cleveland officiated.
Absher died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Decatur.
Born Nov. 16, 1939, in Metropolis, Ill., he married Willie G. Watson May 27, 1994, in Greenwood, La. and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord. He was an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife; mother, Susie Absher of Noblesville, Ind.; sons, Craig Absher of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bobby Caso of Sunset and Raymond Caso of Alvord; daughters, Debra Undhjem of Litchfield, Ariz., Gaylene Caso of Ponder and Marissa Absher of Porter; brothers, Dennis Absher of California and Rodney and Curtis Absher, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters Darlene Roberts of Noblesville and Kim Absher of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby and Raymond Caso, Michael Absher, Jim Wethers, Ray Roberts, Eric Smenner, Tom Parker and Lance Undhjem.

Dedrah Delyn Phelps
1975-2002
Service for Dedrah Delyn Phelps, 26, of Paradise was Monday, July 29, at Fountain of Life Church in Watauga. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in Bowie. The Rev. Von Lombard officiated.
Phelps died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Paradise.
Born Dec. 4, 1975, in Odessa to Russell and Rhonda Hanson, she was a 1994 graduate of Weatherford High School. She married Mike Phelps on July 23, 1994, in Watauga.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Fountain of Life Church in Watauga where she served as director of the preschool department.
She died with her mother-in-law Carolyn Phelps, son Christopher and daughter Alyssa.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Phelps of Paradise; parents, Russell and Rhonda Hanson of Owasso, Okla.; grandparents, Dorothy and Robert Hanson and Jean Tucker; great-grandparents, Helen Stout; a sister, Ralena Whitten and husband Jeff of Haltom City; brother, James Piper of Owasso, Okla.; and three nieces.

Alyssa Renae Phelps
1998-2002
Service for Alyssa Renae Phelps, 3, of Paradise was Monday, July 29, at Fountain of Life Church in Watauga. The Rev. Von Lombard officiated. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery in Bowie.
She died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Paradise along with her mother Dedrah; brother, Christopher and grandmother, Carolyn Phelps.
Born Jan. 4, 1998, in Fort Worth, she was a member of the Fountain of Life Church.
She is survived by her father, Mike Phelps of Paradise; her grandparents, Russell and Rhonda Hanson of Owasso, Okla.; great-grandparents, Dorothy and Robert Hanson and Jean Tucker; great-great-grandparents, Helen Stout and E.C. Barker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carolyn Ruth Phelps
1952-2002
Service for Carolyn Ruth Phelps, 49, of Abilene was Monday, July 29, at Fountain of Life Church in Watauga. The Rev. Von Lombard officiated.
Phelps died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Paradise along with her daughter in-law, Dedrah and grandchildren, Alyssa and Christopher.
Born July 25, 1952, in Durant, Okla., she was a manager for McDonald’s Restaurant in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Phelps; her parents, Virgil and Earlene Phelps and two sisters, Flossy Grant and Joyce Jackson.
She is survived by two daughters, Missy Dokey and husband Matthew of Abilene and Shelly Phelps of Abilene; a son, Mike Phelps of Paradise; a granddaughter, Tristin Gary; two brothers, Karl Noland and Daryl Noland, both of Porterville, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Christopher Jordan ‘C.J.’ Phelps
1996-2002
Service for Christopher Jordan “C.J.” Phelps, 6, of Paradise was Monday, July 29, at the Fountain of Life Church in Watauga. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery in Bowie. The Rev. Von Lombard officiated.
Phelps died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Paradise with his mother, Dedrah, his sister, Alyssa Renae and his grandmother, Carolyn Phelps.
Born July 20, 1996, in Fort Worth, he would have been in first grade at Paradise Elementary.
He was a member of the Fountain of Life Church.
He is survived by his father, Mike Phelps of Paradise; grandparents, Russell and Rhonda Hanson of Owasso, Okla.; great-grandparents, Dorothy and Robert Hanson and Jean Tucker; great great-grandparents, Helen Stout and E.C. Barker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dr. Walter Elmo Penley
1924-2002
Service for Dr. Walter Elmo Penley, 77, of Denton and an orthodontist for many patients in Wise County, was Monday, July 29 at Denton Bible Church with the Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Penley died Friday, July 26, 2002, in Denton.
He was born September 8, 1924, in Reed, Okla. to James W. and Mary Penley. He was the youngest of eight children. He graduated from high school in Mangum, Okla. in 1942. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Penley was a graduate of Baylor University in 1950. He married Nelwyn Anderson on June 25, 1950, in Port Arthur. He graduated from Baylor Dental School in Dallas in 1953. He practiced general dentistry in Denton from 1953 to 1960, then received his orthodontic training at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He began his orthodontics practice in Denton in 1962 and retired in 2001.
Penley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nelwyn Penley; two sons, Mark Penley and his wife Cindy of Dallas and Major Dick Penley of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.; one daughter, Beth Henderson and her husband James of Tell; six granddaughters, Jennifer and Hannah Penley, Hayley and Mary Katherine Henderson and Rebekah and Rachel Penley; one sister, Noma Castle of Denton; two brothers, Neil of Oklahoma City and Forrest of Aberdeen, Scotland; two nieces and four nephews.
Pallbearers were Mike Rummell, Charles Martin, Dr. L.E. Selz, Mack Elliott, Dr. John White, Dr. Hal Reed, Stan Yeager and Keith Molsbee. Honorary pallbearers were Wade Tyler Jr., Rob Overton, Dr. Guinn Daniels, Dr. Charles Saunders, Dr. Forrest Cothern, Dr. Alex Finlay, John Haynie, Jake Smith and Roy Heatly.
