Mr. Dunaway, who engaged in farming, was born Oct. 10, 1890, in Trinity County. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services were held in the Taylor Cemetery, in Trinity County, at 3 p.m. Monday, with Re. Walter Cooksey Officiating. Pallbearers were Leon Barnes, Louie Barnes, Kenneth Carpenter, Bobby Dunaway, Tom Dunaway and Glen Dunaway. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Lizzie Dunaway of Risk; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Sims and Mrs. Joyce Carpenter, both of Tyler; three sons, J. T. Dunaway of Trnity, Raymond Dunaway of Houston and James V. Dunaway of Long Beach, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren. Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Thurs. Feb. 15, 1968 Benjamin Lee Dunaway Infant Benjamin Lee Dunaway died Saturday in a Trinity hospital. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Lee Officiating. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lee Dunaway of Trinity; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Woelfley of Trnity and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Burrows of Lufkin. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. April 7, 1966 Howard Wilson Dunaway Mr. Howard Wilson Dunaway died Thursday, March 24 in a Baytown hospital. A resident of Channelview, for the past 30 years, he was retired from United Rubber, where he was an electrician. He was Past Master of the C. A. Fortner Masonic Lodge, Past Worth Patron of the Channelview Eastern Star Chapter No. 954, and served on advisory boards for the Rainbow Girls and DeMolay Chapter in Channelview. He was also active in the Church of Christ. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Myrtie Dunaway, Channelview; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Jane Howell, Pasadena, California; one son, Charles Harrison Dunaway of Channelview; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Kinard and Mrs. Nina Sherlock both of Greens Bayou; one brother, Kinard Dunaway of Chita, Texas; and two grandchildren, Cheryl Anne and Daniel Allan Howell both of Pasadena, California. Funeral services were held Friday, March 25, at 3 p.m. in the Chita Cemetery with Mr. H. D. Smith officiating. The C. A. Fortner Masonic Lodge No 1304 conducted graveside services. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Aug. 31, 1967 Toll Wm. Dunaway Mr. Toll Wm. Dunaway, 69, of Rt. 2, Trinity, died early Thursday morning in a Trinity hospital. Mr. Dunaway was a lifelong resident of Trnity County, and he was a member of the Chita Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday in the Chita Baptist Church, with Rev. Otis Stanberry officiating. Burial was in the Chita Cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Bertha Dunaway of Trinity; three sons, Cleon Dunaway of Dallas, Carl Dunaway of Andrews and Charles Dunaway of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Robertson, Mrs. Laverne Lotz and Mrs. Lenora Andrews, all of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Ellis and Miss Maggie Dunaway, both of Lufkin; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Thursday, Oct. 28, 1971 Mr. Jesse Dunaway Mr. Jesse Dunaway, 76, of 109 Oak Hollow, Conroe, passed away Friday, Oct. 22, in a Conroe hospital. Mr. Dunaway was a former resident of Trinity County, but has resided in Conroe for the past five years. He was a member of the Sebastopol Congregational Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Sebastopol Congregational Methodist Church, with Rev. Raleigh Hooper officiating. Interments followed in the Chita Cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Hattie Dunaway of Conroe; three sons, Hubert Dunaway of Trinity and Lloyd and Douglas Dunaway, both of Conroe; four daughters, Mrs. Verna Chessher of Kountze. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Thursday, Aug. 26, 1971 Millicant Diane Dunaway Infant Millicant Diane Dunaway passed away in a local hospital Friday, Aug. 13. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Taylor Cemetery, with Rev. M. M. Ellis officiating. Interment followed in the Taylor Cemetery. Survivors include the parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Dunaway of Trinity; two brothers, Thomas an Joe Dunaway, both of Trinity; four sisters, Mrs. Lana Walker of Groveton and Misses Mary Katherine, Lisa and Jennie Marie Dunaway, all of Trinity. Thursday, May 18, 1973 Mrs. Lizzie Dunaway Mrs. Lizzie Dunaway, 82, of Trinity, passed away Monday night, May 7, at the Eastway General Hospital in Houston. Mrs. Dunaway was born in Texas on Feb. 1, 1891, and had lived in Trinity County for the greater part of her lifetime. She was a member of the Church of God. Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Cemetery, near Trinity, with Rev. Joe Bailey Barnes and Rev. Walter Cooksey officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Laura Sims and Mrs. Joyce Carpenter, both of Houston; three sons, James and Raymond Dunaway, both of Houston, and Jl. T. Thursday, September 19, 1968 P.F.C. Allen S. Dunbar Army PFC Allen S. Dunbar, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Dunbar of 107 West 17th Houston, formerly of Crockett, was killed in action in Viet Nam Aug. 29. PFC Dunbar was born in Houston County, July 27, 1947, and lived in Houston County until 1956, when he moved to Houston with his parents. He was a member of the 14th Baptist Church. He attended Reagan High School before entering the service Dec. 1, 1967. He went to Viet Nam in early May, and was with the 82nd Airborne Division. Military graveside funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Conner Cemetery, with the Rev. R. J. Rodgers officiating. Military personnel from Fort Hood were pallbearers. Survivors include the parents; five sisters, Mrs. Rosa Loviette, Mrs. Elizabeth Lee, Mrs. Emma Sue Hilborn, Mrs. Estelle Sexton and Mrs. Faye Coker; four brothers, John, Bill, David and Darrell Dunbar, three nieces, five nephews, all of Houston; several aunts and uncles. (Mamie) Duncan, 78, wre held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Callaway Memorial Chapel. Rev. Oscar Lock and Rev. Bob Lewis officiated. Burial was in the Ivie Cemetery. Mrs. Duncan, a resident of Kennard, died Jan. 18, in Lufkin. She was born Aug. 12, 1896 in Pennington and had lived in Kennard for the past 47 years. She was a member of the Community Full Gospel Church of Kennard. Survivors include her husband, W. C. Duncan of Kennard; two sons, Johnny Duncan of Crockett, and Homer Duncan of Lufkin. Also, five sisters, Mrs. Lon Hughes of Chester, Mrs. Lena Matchett of Angleton, Mrs. Iona Parks of Palestine, Mrs. Lela Rice and Mrs. Iola Edward, both of Kennard; a brother, Frank W. Thursday, August 23, 1973 James Crother Dunlap Mr. James Crother Dunlap, 73, of Trinity, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, in the Trinity Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dunlap, a retired farmer and rancher, had lived in Trinity County his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church, with Rev. H. R. Stinson officiating. Interment followed in the Dunlap Cemetery. Survivors include a son, James Timothy Dunlap of Kittrell; a sister, Mrs. Ioma Waller of Huntsville; one grandchild. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Thurs. Feb. 7, 1974 Mrs. Minnie Dunlap Mrs. Minnie Dunlap, 85, of Trinity, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Trinity Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and a lifelong resident of Trinity County. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 1, at 1:30 p.m. in the Waller Chapel in Triity. Mr. Harry Conner officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. C. R. Mebane of Trinity, Mrs. B. W. Pike of San Angelo, and Mrs. Floyd Mings of Richardson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Francis Lucile Dunlap Mrs. Francis Lucile Dunlap, 67, of Rt. 1, Trity, died in Trinity Memorial Hospital Tuesday evening, Jan. 7, 1969. Mrs. Dunlap had lived in Walker County the last 40 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church, with Rev. J. J. Chastine, Rev. Stinson and Rev. Nichols officiating. Burial was in the Dunlap Cemetery. Survivors include the husband, J. C. Dunlap of Trnity; a son, Tim Dunlap of Trinity; two sisters, Mrs. T. W. O'Neil of Waco and Mrs. Margie Ryder of San Antonio; one grandchild; also several nieces and nephews. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. J. H. Dunlap Funeral services for Mrs. Leon May Gibbs Dunlap were held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church. Rev. Keith McCaffety, assiciate pastor, Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church and Rev. John Driskell, pastor of First Christian, Trinity officiated at the services. Mrs. Dunlap was born at Spring, Texas, August 9, 1875. She and Mr. Dunlap married November 17, 1894 and moved to Kitrell where Mr. Dunlap was in the General Merchandise business. Kitell then had a post office, and Mrs. Dunlap was postmaster. They also owned a cotton gin. Mr. Dunlap preceeded her in death. She is survived by one son, J. C. Dunlap of Kitrell; two daughters, Mrs. Gayle Rogers of Palestine, and Mrs. Ioma Dunlap Walker of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Sturgis of Trinity and Mrs. Inez Reeves of Palestine; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren. Interment was in Dunlap Cemetery. Thursday, August 26, 1965 Dr. Victor F. Dunlap Dr. Victor F. Dunlap, 58, of Houston, died in a Houston hospital Saturday afternoon. Dr. Dunlap was an associate professor of business at the University of Houston. He was a member of Holland Masonic Lodge No.1 of Houston and was a veteran of World War II. Graveside funeral services were held in the Cedar Grove Cemetery at Trinity at 4:30 p.m. Tusday. Burial rites were under the auspices of Joe Werner Masonic Lodge of Trinity. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ada Marie Dunlap of HOuston; two sisters, Mrs. L. D. Bradberry and Miss Inez Dunlap, both of Huntsville. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Thurs. Nov. 29, 1973 Mrs. Nettie Johnson Dunlop Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Johnson Dunlop were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Dunlop passed away in Marlin. She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Nan Bogle of Austin. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Aug. 10, 1972 Mrs. Leona Myrtle Dunn Mrs. Leona Myrtle Dunn, 69, of 902 San Jacinto, Crockett, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, in Houston County Hospital. Mrs. Dunn, a retired school teacher, was born may 26, 1903, in Houston County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Richard Hume of the Lovelady Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers wre R. B. Hall Jr., C. R. AttawayJr., David Attaway, Bruce Attaway, G. H. Foster and L. T. Morgan. Survivors include a son, James A. Dunn of Waco; three brothers, A. B. Hall of Porter, W. Mr, Dunnam was a member of the Trinity Church of Christ and had lived in the Trinity area for the past 35 years. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth, of New Albany, Miss., Otha of Spencer, Okla., and Aubrey of Cleveland; two daughters Mrs. John McCoy of Trinity and Mrs. Joe Baker of Country Campus; a brother, Lloyd, of New Albany, Miss., three sisters, Mrs. Velma Snyder of Arkansas, Mrs. Hattie Sanford and Mrs. Pearl Stanton both of Alabama; 25 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Trinity Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, with Mr. John Short officiating. Interment was in Clapp Cemeery under the direction of the Waller Funeral Home. Thurs. April 4, 1974 Edgar Dunnam Mr. Edgar Dunnam, 73, of Rt. 3, Grapeland, died at his home Monday, April 1. Mr. Dunnam, a retired farmer, was born Aug. 21, 1900 in Grapeland and was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., April 2, in Guiceland Chapel with Mr. Calvin Dickey officiating. Burial was in Guiceland cemetery. Pallbearers included George Gaines, Howard Dennam Jr., Harold Starkey, Earnest Brown, Johnny Wilkins and Clyde Bedford. Feb. 1, 1973 George Hudson Duren Mr. George Hudson Duren, 98, of Rt. 1, Crockett, passed away at his home Saturday night, Jan 27, after an extended illness. Mr. Duren was born in Houston County on Sept. 17, 1874, and had lived here for his entire lifetime. He was a member of the New Energy Methodist Church, and also a member of Lathrop Lodge No. 21, AF & AM, of Crockett. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the New Energy Methodist Church, with Rev. J. D. Helpenstell and Rev. W. H. Wieting officiating. interment was in the New Energy Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites under the auspices of Lathrop Lodge No. 21 of Crockett. Pallbearers were grandsons. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Zelma Beathard of Vidor and mrs. Velma Minter of Crockett; a son, George R. Thomas Guy Duren Mr. Thomas Guy Duren, 61, of Houston, died Sunday afternoon. Born and reared in Houston County, Mr. Duren had lived in Houston the last five years. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the New Energy Church, with the Rev. A. S. Lee officiating. Burial was in the New Energy Cemetery. Thursday, July 30, 1964 W. O. Durham Mr. W. O. Durham, 85, died in Lufkin Sunday night, following an extended illness. Mr. Durham, a retired employee of the Texas Forest Service, was a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Lufkin and a member of Caltharp Lodge No. 419, AF & AM, of Kennard. Funeral services wre held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Lufkin, with Dr. Arthur DeLoach officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Survivors include the wife; five sons, Lynn, Glynn, Raymond, Pat and Joe Durham, all of Lufkin; a daughter; Mrs. J. C. Durham, 89, of Rt. 1, Crockett, died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. Mr. Durham, a retired farmer, was born in Cherolee County on march 21, 1881, but had lived in Crockett and Houston County most of his lifetime. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery, near Ratcliff. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Betty Durham of Crockett; a son, Frank Maxie Durham of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Albertine Leediker of Amarillo; a stepson, Brent Bennett of Houston; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ruth Seagler of Houston; five grandchildren; three great grandchiildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Durham was born July 7, 1905, in Cherokee County. He was a retired operator of heavy construction equipment. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Callaway memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey Jr. officiating.. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margie LaRue Hanks of Houston; his father, Albert Durham of Crockett; a brother, Maxie Durham of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Lois Leediker of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Kandy Leora, Kelly Beth and Kimberly Kay Hanks, all of Houston. Mrs. Durham was born Nov. 7, 1920 in Wells. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in the Pollok Cemetery, with Rev. H. J. Rhodes Jr. officiating. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Al Conaway of Harlingen; a brother, Pete Durham of Lubbock; and an aunt, Mrs. Exa Sanders of Crockett. Durnell, 66, of Route 1, Elkhart, died September 3, 1974 in a Palestine hospital following a lengthly illness. Funeral services were held Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Elkhart, with the Rev. David Hill and the Rev. U. Van Sickle officiating. Burial was in the Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart. Durnell Funeral services for Mrs. W. R. Durnell, 86, of 211 Main St. White Deer, Texas, longtime Elkhart resident, were held Saturday, August 5, at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Elkhart, with the Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating. Burial was in the Antrim Cemetery, near Elkhart, under the direction of Hassell & Foster. Mrs. Durnell, the former Emily Jane Hopper, was born July 23, 1886 in Sherman to the late Millard Fillmore Hopper and Caldonia Miller Hopper and she die Thurdsay August 3, at 6:35 a.m. in her home following a long illness. She was the widow of Rev. W. R. Durnell, former pastor of the Elkhart First Baptist Church, who preceded her in death in August 1949. Before moving to White Deer in 1970 she was an Elkhart resident for over 50 years, and lived in Waco for 4 years. March 4, 1965 Services Today For J. F. Durnell J. F. Durnell Funeral services for J. F. Durnell of Route 1, Elkhart, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Baptist church in Elkhart with Rev. J. T. Riley and Rev. Billy Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Antrim Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will be the pallbearers. He died Monday afternoon in a Palestine nursing home after a long illness. Born March 5, 1887, in the Antrim community, at age 87, he was the oldest living pioneer of that community. For a number of years he was a school teacher, but had spent most of his life as a farmer. Survivors include four sons, J. P. of Baytown, Virgil of Houston, C.W. of Elkhart and Durwood Durnell of Bellefountaine, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. E. P. Broughton of Elkhart; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Waddell, Baytown and Mrs. Mary Wynne, Elkhart; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The body will be at Hassell and Foster in Palestine until carried to the church for services. Thursday, June 27, 1963 Louis H. (Preacher) Durst Louis H. (Preacher) Durst, 59, a vice president and director of Brown & Root, Inc., and a native of Crockett, died Tuesday in a Houston hospital. A descendant of a pioneer Texas family that settled in East Texas in the 1800's. Durst was born in Crockett on March 10, 1904. Durst was a member of the operating committee of Brown & Root, and had been general manager of all construction since 1955. He had been a national dirctor of the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. since 1959, and was a past president of the association's Texas municipal and utilities branch. Durst was a frequent banquet speaker and an active leader in Texas A. and M. College alumnus activities. He received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in civil engineering from A. and M. In 1928 he wen t to work for Brown & Root in general road and paving work. In 1930, he left the company and joined the Uvalde Asphalt Co. He was a Texas Highway Department district engineer during 1933. In 1934, he returned to Brown & Root as a resign engineer and had been with the company since then. He organized the pruchasing department and served as general purchasing atgenr from 1939 to 1941. Before he was appointed general manager of construction, his field was primarily heavy engineering construction. He directed projects in the Houston area until he was put in charge of all constructionin 1955. Durst was a member of the Methodist church, the Arabia Temple Shrine, the Anson Jones Masonic Lodge, the Texas Society of Professional Engineering Society and the Houston County Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vickory Durst; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Durst of Shreveport, La.; a son, Louis Jr. of Houston; two brothers, Julian Durst of Crockett and Horatio Durst III of Gretna, La.; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard N. Potter and Miss Mary Elizabeth Durst, both of Shreveport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Saint Paul's Methodist Church with Dr. Alfred H. Freeman and Dr. John Land officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3"30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, June 27, in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, with the Rev. E. Jewel Strong officiating. Mrs. Durst, formerly a resident of the Crockett area, had lived in Fort Worth the last 20 years. She was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery at 3:45 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Jim Killen officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Horace Lansford of Forth Worth and Mrs. Tom Markham of Houston; three brothers, John, Bill and Sam Lemons, all of Centerville; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold Sullivan of Bryan and Mrs. Howard Wallace of Centerville; three grandchildren. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 1969 Mrs. Elizabeth Wakefield Durst Mrs. Elizabeth Wakefield Durst, 92, of Shreveport, La., died March 3 in Shreveport. Mrs. Durst, a Crockett resident many years, was born in Midway Jan. 31, 1877. She was a member of the Christian Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers were John Durst, Louis Durst Jr., Dupont Durst, Pat Wakefield, Jerald Wakefield and Leon Wakefield. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Polly Durst and Mrs. R. N. Potter, both of Sheveport; two sons, Julian Durst of Crockett and Rashe Durst of Gretna, La.; a brother, Leon A. (Buddy) Wakefield of Madisonville; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchldren. Tursday, Feb. 14, 1974 Mrs. Nannie Virginia Dutcher Mrs. Nannie Virginia Dutcher, 78, of 100 Plum Grove Road, Cleveland, Texas, passed away Feb. 7 at her home. Mrs. Dutcher ws born July 15, 1895 in Comanche, Texas, and was a member of the Methodist church. She had lived in Cleveland for about five years. Graveside services were held at Resthaven cemetery in Houston, Feb. 9, at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Roy C. Percival officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park, Houston. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ruby Lee of Houston; one niece and one nephew. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Callaway Funeral Home of Crockett was in charge of arrangements. Thursday, February 23, 1967 Aubert C. Dykes Jr. Mr. Aubert C. Dykes Jr., 46 of Crockett, died at his residence Thursday morning. Mr. Dykes was in the buiilding and lumber business here, where he had lived the last 10 years. A native of Arkansas, he was a member of the First Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War II as a pilot with the U.S.Navy. Mr. Dykes was a graduate of Georgia Tech.. He was s Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner, and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He had served as chairman of the official board of the First Methodist Church, vice president of the Crockett school board, and president of the Rotary Club. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday inthe First Methodist Church, with Rev. L. B. Broach an dRev. Weldon B. Morton officiating. Services followed at 5 p.m. at the graveside in the Farmerville, La., Cemetery, with interment following. Active pallbearers were Ross Kinslow, Allen Rogers, Dr. Richard D. Haines, Dr. James C. Moore, Dr. A. B. Brown, Jr., and W. D. Julian. Honorary pallbearers were James Rector, Dr. J. B. Land, Clive Dickey, A. C. Satterwhite, R. E. Thibodeaux and Wm. Smith. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Jean Dykes of Crockett; a son, A. C. Dykes III of Crockett; two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Levert of New Orleans and Miss Donna Jean Dykes of Crockett; his mother, Mrs. A. C. Dykes Sr., of Crockett; a brother, Roland Dykes of Dallas. May 17, 1973 Mrs. Virginia Dykes Mrs. Virginia Dykes, 71, of 705 East Bowie Ave., Crockett, passed away Sunday, May 13, inthe Houston County Hospital. Mrs. Dykes was a lifelong resident of Houston County and was a member of the First Christian Church. She had been employed by th eLatexo schools for the past 31 years, and was a member of the T.S.T.A. and the retired teachers association. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of the Waller Funeral Home, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiating and Rev. Bruce Banks assisting. interment was in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include the husband, L. L. Dyles; a daughter, Mrs. C. B. Sexon; a grandchild, Mrs. Nona Beth Murchison; all of Crockett.
