Ronald Eli Wheeler, 51, of Kirbyville died September 29, 1996 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral was held Thursday, October 3 at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial at Newton City Cemetery. A native of Newton, he lived in Kirbyville most of his life and was a car salesman at P&B Sales in Kirbyville. Survivors include a son, Ronald Wayne Wheeler of Milton, Florida; daughter, Shelly Elizabeth Wheeler of Kirbyville; and half-brother Donald Powell of Newton.

BUNA – Catherine White, 62, of Buna died Sunday at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston after an illness. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Locharbor Cemetery in Monroe, La., under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. A wake will be held today at the funeral home. A native of Monroe, La., she lived in Buna 25 years and was a retired licensed vocational nurse. She is survived by one brother, Kenneth Furlow of Lumberton; and one sister, Florine Lackey of Bridge City.

White, Everette Judson
Funeral services for Everette Judson White, 69, of Kirbyville will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Kirbyville Cemetery. White died Tuesday night, November 27, 1973 in a Jasper hospital. A native of Oakdale, La., he had lived in Kirbyville 50 years and was a retired sawmill worker. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mirtis Brown White; one son, Chester White, Kirbyville; and a half sister, Mrs. Lillie Hennigan, Merryville, La.

White, Roy H.
Roy H. White, 59, of Jasper died Saturday, October 8, 1994 in Jasper. Funeral was held Monday, October 10 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper. A native of San Augustine County, he was a longtime resident of Jasper, was retired from Perkins Furniture in Jasper and was an ordained Baptist minister. Survivors include his wife, Louise Gary White of Jasper; mother, Lora White of Kirbyville; daughters, Mary Brasher of Groves, Melissa McGuire and Treasa Rast, both of Diboll; brother, Billy White of Jasper; sisters, Sue Burks and Margaret Richardson, both of Kirbyville; and six grandchildren.

JASPER – Funeral for Ira Whitehead, 60, of Jasper was at 3 p.m. Thursday in J.O. Stringer Funeral Home and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. He died Tuesday in Jasper Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. A native of Browndell, he had lived in Jasper for many years and was a machine operator for Tennessee Gas Co. Survivors include one son, Larry Whitehead of Deer Park; six daughters, Lou Spitzenberger and Wanda Gail Weaver, both of Deer Park, Laurette Whitehead of Houston, Jeanette Goram of Evadale, Iva Hamilton and Irene Duckworth, both of Jasper; two brothers, David and Austin Whitehead, both of Jasper, and one sister, Obelene Palmer of Houston.

Whitman, Everett C.
Funeral Services for Everett C. Whitman, 88, of Buna, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. B.A. Carlin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Trout Creek Cemetery under direction of Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. There will be Masonic graveside rites. He died about 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 1972 after a long illness. He was a native of Bon Wier and had lived in Buna 24 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Oakdale Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Druly West Whitman; three foster-daughters, Mrs. Irma Jenkins of Buna, Mrs. Evelyn Norsworthy of Beaumont and Miss Ola Grayson of Baton Rouge, La.; two foster-sons, J.B. Grayson of Baton Rouge and Alfred Grayson of Grapeland.

Whitmon, Ira
Funeral for Ira Whiman, 74, of Old Salem Community will be at 2 p.m. today at Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home with burial in Trout Creek Cemetery. He died at 9:57 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 1979 at Mid-Jefferson County Hospital after an illness. A native of Louisiana, he had lived most of his life in Old Salem Community and was a farmer. Survivors include two daughters, Opal Henson of Beaumont and Elizabeth Baxley of Groves; two sisters, Mildred Williams of Buna and Audie Williams of Call; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Franklin Whitmire, 69, of Buna, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in Morse Cemetery under direction of Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. She died early Saturday, August 12,1972 in a Buna hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Jasper County. Survivors include three sons, Donald Whitmire and Kenneth Whitmire, both of Buna, and Milam Whitmire, Evadale; two brothers, R.G. Franklin, Buna, and Vernon Franklin, Vidor; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Dunn and Mrs. Alice Garsee, Buna, and Mrs. Ocie Whitmire, Vidor.

Stringer Funeral Home. He died at 8 p.m. Thursday in Mary Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper. A native of San Augustine County, he had lived here 26 years and was a retired watch repairman. Survivors include his wife, Evie Chandler Whitton; one son, Lennis Whitton of Pasadena; one daughter, Rena Simmons of Kirbyville; his mother, Josie Whitton of Lake Arthur, La., and three sisters, Floy Bly of Yucaipa, Calif., and Robbie Buckalew and Alice Murphy, both of San Augustine.

Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial in Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville. She was a native and lifelong resident of Call and Kirbyville. Survivors include son, Charles Whitten of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughters, Betty Davis of Fredricksburg, Irene Whitten of Kirbyville; Sisters, Opal Richardson of Kirbyville, Emma L. Crane of Call; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Additional services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home, Kirbyville. Burial will be in the Bean Cemetery. Whitton died Friday, April 27, 1973 in a Corpus Christi hospital. A native of Jasper County, he was a Texaco employee. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Huffman Whitton; five daughters, Mrs. Robert Kitchens, Kirbyville, Mrs. Larry Kemp, Beaumont, Mrs. Hollis miller, Victoria, Mrs. Jimmy Moses and Mrs. Jeary Bosworth, both of Freer; three sons, Herman Whitton, Mauriceville, Melvin Whitton, Corpus Christi, and Glen Whitton, Freer; two brothers, Hugh and Clifford Whitton, Both of Kirbyville; and his mother, Mrs. W.E. Ruby Lorene Whitten, 63, of Kirbyville died Monday, October 21, 1985 at her daughter’s home in Lumberton. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial in Bean Cemetery. A native of Call, she lived in Kirbyville most of her life, lived in Freer 25 years and was owner and operator of Whitten Hotel. Survivors include three sons, Herman Whitten of Mauriceville, Melvin Whitten of Alice and Glenn Whitten of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Norma Kemp of Lumberton, Florence Millard of Austin, Doris Moses of Luling and Deborah Bosworth of Kingsville; three brothers, J.D. Huffman of Valparaiso, Ind., Herbert Huffman of Kirbyville and Burl Huffman of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Velma Jackson of Jasper, Myrtie Driver of Magnolia and Louise Dubose of Lumberton; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a machine operator for the highway department. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Wigley of Jasper; one son, Roy L. Spivey of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Lee Guin of Houston; two brothers, Thomas Wigley of Corpus Christi and Eldridge Wigley of Beach Grove; two sisters, Edith Rawls of Beach Grove and Dora Ellis of Jasper.

William Earl Wigley, 86, of Newton died Wednesday, December 12, 1990 at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Olds Cemetery in Jasper under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper. A lifelong resident of Newton, he was a self-employed farmer. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Wigley of Newton; a brother, Hampy Wigley of Cleveland, Texas; and a sister, Rosie Hawthorne of Newton.

Maggie Wilburn, 91, of Buna died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Buna Nursing Home. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Hemphill, she lived in Buna 43 years and was a retired grocery clerk. Survivors include her daughter, ?? "Lynn?? Oliver of Buna; sisters, Nannie Watson and Meadie Williams, both of Kirbyville; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
