Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial at Hemphill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Sixmile, she lived in Hemphill 22 years and was a retired clerk with Gulf Oil Co. in Port Arthur. Survivors include sister, Doris Moses of Dallas and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Hale Dunn, 59, of Kirbyville were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Kirbyville. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery near Jasper under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Mrs. Dunn died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, December 31, 1972 in a Kirbyville hospital. She was a former teacher in the Kirbyville High School. Survivors include her husband, A.D. Dunn; a daughter, Miss Audrey Fae Dunn, Kirbyville; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hale, Kirbyville; five sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Jackson and Mrs. Annie Lou Briggs, both of Houston, Mrs. Juanita Foster, Iowa, Mrs. Melba Baker, Baytown, and Mrs. Jackie Johnson, Dallas; three brothers, Josh Hale, Buna, Marvin and Garland Hale, both of Kirbyville.

Ethel Mae “Crittie” Durden, 94, of Silsbee died Saturday, March 16, 1996 at Silsbee Doctor’s Hospital. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Silsbee with graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bleakwood Cemetery in Bleakwood under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Bleakwood, she lived in Silsbee 56 years. Survivors include her sister, Minnie Alice McMillan of Bleakwood; nieces; and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bleakwood Cemetery Association or First United Methodist Church in Silsbee.

Davis, Robert Marion
Funeral service for Robert Marion Davis, 85, of Kirbyville was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11 at Victory Assembly of God Church with burial following in Davis Cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. He died Sunday, December 9, 1984 at Jasper Memorial Hospital after an illness. A native of the Fawil community, he lived in Kirbyville 41 years and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Lois Neely Davis of Kirbyville; two sons, Robert L. Davis of Lumberton and Ray Davis of Kirbyville; two daughters, Betty Skinner of Kirbyville and Etta Lisbony of Houston; a brother, Dock Davis of Buna; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Powell Davis of Kirbyville; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. James L. Petry of Port Arthur; three grandchildren, Dianne, Michael and Melissa Petry of Port Arthur and several sisters of Newton. AMARILLO – Funeral for roscoe H. Deitiker, 89, were held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo with burial in Llano Cemetery, also in Amarillo. Deitiker died Feb. 19 at his residence. A native of Buna, he was raised in Kirbyville and was a retired Santa Fe Railroad employee. Survivors include his wife; four daughters; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera Mitchell of Buna, Mary Francis Hough of Shreveport, La., Lillie Rohrman of Port Arthur; and a brother, Nick Deitiker of Beaumont.

Last rites for Russie Derrough, 87, of Bleakwood were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday of this week at Watson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alton Jones of Palestine officiating. Burial was in Bleakwood Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home of Kirbyville. Mrs. Derrough died Monday at Mixson Memorial Hospital in Kirbyville following an illness. She was a native of Bleakwood, a former longtime resident of Port Arthur and had resided in Bleakwood for the past three years. She was a retired nurse for Texaco Refinery. Survivors include her husband, Jim Derrough of Bleakwood; three sisters, Jo Hall and Minnie McKinney, both of Bleakwood, and Ethel Durdin of Silsbee; and two brothers, J.P. Wilson Jr. of Brownsville and Jessie Wilson of Port Arthur.

DeVillier, Patricia Ann

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Jeep” DeVillier, 33, of 604 South Eighth St. of Nederland, died early Sunday in an automobile accident in Beaumont. Mrs. DeVillier, a first grade teacher at Woodcrest Elementary School in Port Neches, was returning with a group of other teachers from a convention of the Classroom Teachers Association in Dallas when the accident occurred. Mrs. DeVillier, formerly Patricia Ann McDonald, taught in the Port Neches District for eight years, first at Groves Elementary then at Van Buren before her current Assignment. She was an active member of the Classroom Teachers Association and the Texas State Teachers Association and held offices in both organizations. She also was an officer in two honorary sororities, Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a member of the Women’s Club at Lamar University where her husband, Russell, is college information officer. Survivors besides her husband are two sons, Craig, 8, and Mark, 6; her parents Mr. and Mrs. D.A. McDonald of Nederland; a sister, Mrs. Kay Johnson of Hurst; and grandmothers, Mrs. Etolia Loyd and Mrs. Mae McDonald, both of Kirbyville. Mrs. DeVillier was a member of First united Methodist Church of Nederland where she was serving on the commission of education. She had served earlier as nursery and kindergarten coordinator. A native of Nederland, she attended high school in that city and attended Sam Houston State University before her graduation from Lamar University. Funeral services will be Monday at 4 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Nederland and burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. The Rev. Archie Flemming will officiate, assisted by Father William Brooks of All Souls Catholic church in Silsbee. The body is lying in state at Davis Funeral Home in Nederland. Pallbearers will be Joe Williamson, Jerry McNeill, James R. Wood, Joe Lee Smith, Harlan Nelson, Fred Cervelli, Carl Thames and George Boal.

Diasselliss, Olga Ann
Funeral for Olga Ann Diasselliss, 78, of Silsbee was held June 3 at Farmers Funeral Home in Silsbee with the Rev. Robert Pate officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Beaumont. She died May 31, 1986 in Doctors Hospital in Silsbee. A former resident of Kirbyville, she and her husband owned and operated a grocer supply house here for over 25 years. She was a volunteer worker for many years for the American Cancer Society. Survivors include one son, John Diasselliss of Silsbee; a sister, Marie Hasenkampf; and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred Louise Dickens, 81, of Midway died Feb. 25 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Midway Community Church with burial at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A lifelong resident of Polk County, she was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Leon D. Dickens of Livingston; son, Leon Dickens Jr. of Livingston; sisters, Jewel Hunter of Livingston and Wilma Adams of San Antonio; brother, Charles Ray Paten of Angleton; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral for Dana Lynet Dickerson, 18, of Bleakwood was held October 19 at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial in Watson Chapel Cemetery in Bleakwood. She died Saturday, October 18, 1986 in a house fire. A native and lifelong resident of Newton County, she was a 1986 graduate of Newton High School and was employed as a sales clerk by Westbrook Grocery. Survivors include her parents, J.D. And Sally Dickerson of Bleakwood; grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Olen Neely and Beatrice Dickerson, all of Kirbyville; a brother, Tony Dickerson of Newton; and a sister, Lisa Merka of Bleakwood.

Edward Dodson, 79, of Kirbyville died Thursday, May 25, 1995 at Beaumont Regional Medical Center in Beaumont. Funeral was held Saturday, May 27 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. A native of Magnolia, Arkansas, he lived in Kirbyville several years and was retired from U.S. Steel in Orange. He also was a mechanic and car salesman. VIDOR – A 44-year-old Vidor woman was killed and another person injured in a two-car accident late Saturday on Texas 12 in Vidor, police said. Police said Earla Sue Doiron of 1545 Dearpark was killed at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when her vehicle struck another vehicle in the 1800 block of Texas 12. The driver of the other car, Leonidas Perkins, 60, of Vidor was listed in satisfactory condition with chest injuries at St. Elizabeth Hospital late Sunday. Funeral for Doiron will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Friendship Baptist Church in roganville, Texas, with burial in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral in Vidor. A native of Roganville, she lived in Vodor four years and was a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell Co. Survivors include her husband, Daniel O. Doiron of Vidor; her mother, Essie Jobe of Roganville; three brothers, Joe Jobe, Carlton Jobe and Vernon Jobe, all of Roganville; and two sisters, Opal Hall of Jasper and Margaret Jobe of Bossier City.

KIRBYVILLE – Funeral services for Jimmy R. Doyen, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Kirbyville Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Bean Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. He died about 9 p.m. Friday, March 8, 1974 in the home of a son in Silsbee. A native of Sabine County, he lived here 31 years, was a retired carpenter and a former city night watchman. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Berryman Doyen; two daughters, Lalor Weaver of Kirbyville, and Lillian Bonner of Vidor; six sons, George, John and Jimmy Doyen Jr., all of Silsbee, Fred Doyen of Sulphur, Grady Doyen of Lake Charles and Hubert Doyen of Dallas, and a sister, Katherine McDaniel of Silsbee.

Stringer Funeral Home. Mrs. Drake died at noon Thursday at Mixson Memorial Hospital in Kirbyville after an illness. She was a native of Hartburg and had lived in the Call area 46 years. Survivors include her husband, C.H. Drake Sr.; five sons, Billy Dove of Conroe, D.H. dove of Kirbyville, Clyde Drake and C.H. Drake Jr., both of Groves, and Raymond Drake of Arlington; four brothers, Vannie, Marvin and Walter Levine, all of Hartburg, and Homer Levine of Kirbyville; four sisters, Emma Carter, Ottie Mae Bean and Martha Daugherty, all of Hartburg, and Kittie Rayburn of Hornbeck, La.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

A native of Newton County, he had lived in Beaumont several years. He was a retiree from Rainbo Bakery and had lived in Kirbyville a number of years. Survivors include two sons, Joe Dubose of Vidor and Ray Dubose of Kirbyville; two brothers, Joe Ben Dubose of Kirbyville and Ed Dubose of Beaumont, and two sisters, Jewel McLemore of Orange and Retha Peveteaux of Houston.

Joe Ben Dubose, 75, of Kirbyville died Monday, November 7, 1994 at his residence. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. He lived most of his life in Kirbyville and was a surveyor. Visitation will begin at noon today with a rosary at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Sulphur, La., she was a former resident of Orange who lived in Bridge City many years and was a homemaker. A native of Hardin County, he was a lifelong Kirbyville resident and a World War II Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Damrel of Kirbyville; daughters, Patti Bierhalter and Joni Lawrence, both of Beaumont; a brother, Bill Damrel of San Jose, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Lufkin, she lived in Kirbyville 47 years. Survivors include her father, Silas Cochran of Bon Wier; sons, Philip Davis and Timmy Davis, both of Vidor, and David Davis of Silsbee; daughter, Angela Baker of Vidor; brother, James Ray "Jimmy’’ Cochran of Kirbyville; and two grandchildren.
