He died at 7:40 p.m. Friday in Jasper Memorial Hospital following a short illness. A native of Meridian, Miss., he lived in Kirbyville 52 years. He was a house-moving contractor. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Westbrook Ellis, two sons, James and Danny Ellis of Kirbyville; one brother, J.D. Ellis of Kirbyville, and one sister, Nora McWilliams of Hattiesburg, Miss.

Easley, 72, died 1:30 p.m. Saturday at his weekend home in Scrapping Valley, Newton County. Funeral service for George Nelson Foxworth, 84, of Kirbyville was held Saturday, February 9 at Victory Assembly of God Church in Kirbyville with burial in Trout Creek Cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. He died Thursday, February 7, 1985 at Mary Dickerson Hospital in Jasper after an illness. A native of Mobile, Texas he lived in Kirbyville 38 years and was a retired Taxi driver. Survivors include his wife, Cassie Whitman Foxworth of Kirbyville; two daughters, Velma Burton of Lufkin and Thelma McBride of Silsbee; two sons, Deport Foxworth of Kountze and Raleigh Foxworth of Port Neches; two sisters, Grace riley and Evalou Riley, both of Doucette; two brothers, R.A. Foxworth of Cleveland and Sylvester Foxworth of Livingston; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lee Franklin, 19, of Buna, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Buna Church of Latter Day Saints in Buna with Bishop Ralph Franklin in charge. Burial will be in Morse Cemetery in Buna under direction of Farmer Funeral Home of Silsbee. Pallbearers will be Charles Breithaupt, Jimmy Word, John Hopkins, Steve Schalchlin, Glade Roper, Roger Jenson, David Nelarns and Bobby Hoffphauir. Honorary pallbearers will be first cousins. Franklin died at 6 a.m. Tuesday in St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colo. As a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a 1971 graduate of Buna High School and was a freshman at Brigham Young University where he was an honor student. He had recently received a call to be a missionary for the Latter Day Saints in June. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Lee Franklin Missionary Fund at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The body will be at the family residence until time for services. Surviving are his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Marvin L. Todd Franklin Sr.; his brother, Todd Franklin of Buna; four sisters, Mrs. Nan Petley of Houston, Misses Reta and Kathy Franklin, both of Buna, and Miss Debbie Hamilton of Garden Gail, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Rev. -- Whitmire, Eddie Franklin, Ronnie Franklin, Wayne Franklin, Lee Franklin and James Franklin. Mrs. Franklin died at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Buna Medical Center where she had been for three days. She was born in Mississippi and had lived most of her life in Buna. She was a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, Richard Franklin and Leonard Franklin, both of Vidor and Ralph Franklin and Marvin Franklin both of Buna; three daughters, Mrs. Nina Ruth Lanston and Mrs. Freda Frazier, both of Silsbee and Mrs. Garnet Whitmire of Buna; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Jones of Call and Mrs. Bertha Shillings of Jasper; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the home of Ralph Franklin on the Bunker Hill Road until time for services.

Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church in Jasper. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Union Chapel Cemetery in Cass County, Texas. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. A longtime resident of Jasper, she was born October 5, 1915 in Lamesa, Dawson Co., Texas and was a retired teacher from Beech Grove and Temple Springs Communities. She graduated with a BA degree from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth in 1936 and also attended East Texas Teachers College. She received her Masters degree in Education and English from Stephen F. Austin University. She was active in the Retired Teachers Association and a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Jasper. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J.B. Frost and sister, Genelle Randle Clements. Survivors include her daughters Libby McLeod of Jasper and Helen Poston of Santa Fe, N.M.; sister Katy Zuefeldt of Abilene, grandchildren Karen Barber of Jasper, John McLeod of Andrews, and Jim McLeod of Lufkin. Great grandchildren are Paige McLeod, Laken McLeod, Glenn Barber, Beth Barber, Hannah McLeod and Charles McLeod. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.

A native of Burk, he lived in Kirbyville most of his life and was a self-employed logging contractor. He was a member of the Kirbyville Missionary Baptist Church. Fairchild was also a member, Past Master and longtime secretary of Nathan Corley Masonic Lodge #294 here. He was Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District and was also Past Worthy Patron of Kirbyville Order of the Eastern Star #263. He was also Past High Priest of Royal Arch #465 in Silsbee and was Thrice Illustrious Past Master of Silsbee #380. He was a 32nd degree Mason. Survivors include his wife, Erla Kelley Fairchild of Kirbyville; two sons, Billy Fairchild of Beaumont and Jack Fairchild of Kirbyville; two brothers, J.C. Plainview Minister Was Injured in Car Accident
SOUR LAKE (Spl) – Funeral services for the Rev. Robert Royal Fairchild, 56, of Plainview will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Magnolia Assembly of God Church in Houston. The Rev. E.M. Yates, pastor will officiate, assisted by the Rev. H.G. Byars, superintendent of the District of Pentecostal Church, and the Rev. Bennis Heard, general superintendent of the Pentecostal Church of God of America. Burial will be in Rosewood Park Cemetery under direction of Houston Funeral Home. The Rev. Fairchild, pastor of the First Assembly of god Church in Plainview and a native of the Friendship Community near Roganville, died Thursday in the Freestone County Hospital shortly after an automobile accident on US 75 near Fairfield. Pallbearers will be Ben Parker, Don Ansohn, Dwain Fairchild, Gene Warnecke, and John and Charles Eddins. Honorary pallbearers will be all ministers of the East Texas and North Texas districts of the Pentecostal Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jo Fairchild of Plainview; two daughters, Mrs. Janelle Warnecke of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Dana Ramirez of Houston; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret Ansohn and Mrs. Winona Parker of Houston; his father, J.W. Fairchild of Jasper; three brothers, J.C. Fairchild of Athens, Luther and E.A. KIRBYVILLE (Spl) – Funeral services for Oscar Ferguson, 73, of Bon Ami community will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Friendship Church. The Rev. Jess Hensarling of Jasper will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dan Robertson of Jasper. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home of Kirbyville. Pallbearers will be Charles Brashear, Pete Holmes, Fred Whitten, Billy Nichols, Rainey Ferguson and Tom Mitchell. The body will be at the family home until time for services. Ferguson died at 4:20 a.m. Monday in his home after a short illness. He was a native of Anderson County and had lived most of his life in the Hemphill and Kirbyville areas. He was a Baptist minister, a farmer and a retired employee of Jasper-Newton Electric Co-operative Inc. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mancy Ferguson; a daughter, Mr. Nadine Whitten of Kirbyville; two sisters, Mrs. Cassie Biscamp of Dallas and Mrs. Bertha Biscamp, address unknown; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A native of Frankfurt, Ky., he lived in Newton County 27 years and was a retired U.S. Army instructor. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Survivors include six sons, Cecil Fowler of Kirbyville, William “Red” Fowler of Auburn, Wash., Robert “Nig” Fowler of Carnation, Wash., Clyde Fowler of Port Neches, Monroe “Buddy” Fowler of Pitkin, La., and Clifton Fowler of Metairie, La.; three daughters, Mary Lupus of Baltimore, Juanita Shaw of Newton and Myrtle “Honey” Orton of Baton Rouge; 35 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Fox, Bertha Bean
Funeral for Bertha Bean Fox, 76, will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. Mrs. Fox died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 1975 in the Buna Medical Center. A Native of Magnolia Springs, she lived in Houston many years and lived here in the past 20 years. Survivors include three brothers, Mayor Oscar Bean of Kirbyville, L.M. Bean and A.D. Bean, both of Houston; three sisters, Honor Orem of Salinas, Calif., Bonnice Newton of Bowie and Temple Stowell of Houston.

Foxworth, Cassie Jane
Cassie Jane Foxworth, 91, of Kirbyville died Tuesday, August 9, 1994 at Silsbee Doctors Hospital. Funeral was Thursday, August 11 at the Victory Assembly of God Church in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery under the direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. A native of Bancroft, Louisiana, she lived in Kirbyville 48 years. Survivors include her sons, Raleigh Foxworth of Port Neches and Deport Foxworth of Kountze; daughters, Thelma Ellen McBride of Kirbyville and Velma Burton of Lufkin; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
