ADAMS
Sara Faye Adams was born on September 27, 1924 in Phenix City, Alabama to Lemearle and Dan Akin. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Adams Sr. in 1943 while he was on a three day pass from military service during WWII. During the war their love was recorded in letters treasured by Faye and passed on to her grandchildren who will treasure them always. Before Joe Sr.’s death on December 16, 1972 the couple bore two children. Joe Jr. was born September 23, 1947. He loved to travel and his homecomings were always met with eager anticipation by Faye. Joe died on May 10, 1994 while living in Guatemala. Faye’s daughter Joyce, born on February 14, 1956 and her husband Joel would grow to be her faithful support system, caretakers, and guides through years of both struggles and victories. Joyce also brought her three grandchildren that filled Faye’s life with joy. Joel Jr. was her "number one grandson", born on March 19, 1979, who always made her beam with pride and treated her like a queen. Jenny was next, born July 11, 1980, who listened and shared her heart and dreams. John Michael, born November 29, 1984 was grandma’s "tadpole" who made her laugh, and sigh, and who even made her dance. While Faye’s family contributed to much of her fulfillment, she also had many other friends and hobbies that made her smile. She loved birds and flowers, food and pictures, she loved old movies and good music. She was surrounded by neighbors who she greatly enjoyed and remained amazingly loyal to old friends throughout the ages. Though Faye died on March 29, 2002 she will live on forever in the hearts of her family and the many others that were touched by her life and her gifts to the world.
