Arleen Wise Larson
BURKBURNETT – Arleen Wise Larson, 74, of Wichita Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett with the Rev. William Carnley, pastor of Maurine Street Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery.
Mrs. Larson was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Paducah, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Burkburnett before moving to Wichita Falls in 1973. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Maurine Street Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Plummer of Wichita Falls; a son, Dan of Nolanville, Texas; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

Clara W. Parks
Clara W. Parks, 105, of Wichita Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in a Wichita Falls nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. William Carnley, pastor of Maurine Street Church of God, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Downtown Chapel.
Mrs. Parks was born June 6, 1893, in Saint Jo, Mo. She had lived in Wichita Falls since 1914. She worked for McClurkan’s in alternations for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 84 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Anetta Truett of Wichita Falls; a sister, Jessie Hildreth of Illinois; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Minnie Mae Smith
BURKBURNETT - Minnie Mae Smith, 77, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
Mrs. Smith was born May 21, 1921, in Canada. She and Raymond Smith were married Sept. 18, 1938. He died in 1989. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She had lived in Wichita Falls for five years and was a former longtime resident of Oakgrove, Mo.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Cheatle of Wichita Falls and Rebekkah Carr of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; two sons, Sammy Joe of Orange, Calif., and Lilburn Franklin of Wisconsin; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Alma Maxey Weatherall
HENRIETTA, Texas - Alma Maxey Weatherall, 84, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in her Henrietta home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Antelope, Texas, Cemetery with the Rev. Will Aston, pastor of Antelope Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weatherall was born May 22, 1914, in Antelope. She and J.R. Weatherall were married Feb. 18, 1985, in Knox City, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Graham, Texas. She had lived in Henrietta for 11 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Keenum of Granbury, Texas; a stepson, Paul of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Lou Ann of Monahans, Texas; a sister, Oleta Mays of Duncan, Okla.; a brother, John "Jake" Maxey of Thornberry, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 this evening for visitation.
Eleanor Irene Fleming
HENRIETTA, Texas - Eleanor Irene Fleming, 84, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in her Petrolia, Texas, home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Darius McKay officiating. Burial will be in Charlie, Texas, Cemetery.
Mrs. Fleming was born April 22, 1914, in Hearnville, Texas. She and Hurburt Fleming were married Jan. 22, 1938, in Henrietta. He died Jan. 14, 1997. She was a former beautician and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlie. She was a lifetime resident of Clay County.
Survivors include two sons, William and Eddie, both of Charlie; three sisters, Lucille Holloway of Denton, Texas, and Helen Ruth Patrick and Margaret Bryant, both of Petrolia; a brother, Ralph Van Winkle of Petrolia; and four grandchildren.

Kevin F. 'K.C.' Christy
Kevin F. "K.C." Christy, 66, of Holliday, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
A memorial gathering at the home will be held Thursday from 4-9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Christy was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Selina, Ohio. He was a telephone contractor for 20 years. He had lived in Wichita Falls for nine years. A grandson, Cody, died in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Holliday; three sons, Derek of Wichita Falls, Dalton of Elida, Ohio, and Justin O. of Holliday; three daughters, Mistie Comerford of Traverse City, Mich., Bethann Roessler of Wapakuneta, Ohio, and Alliyssonn of Wichita Falls; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends donate a fan to a needy family in his name.

Inez Barboza
Inez Barboza, 91, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1998, in a Wichita Falls nursing center.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ramirez officiating. Burial will be Wednesday in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Barboza was born Feb. 3, 1907, in San Carlos, Mexico. She was a homemaker and had lived in Wichita Falls for 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Ambrosio of Wichita Falls; three daughters, Frances Rivard and Elizabeth Garcia, both of Wichita Falls, and Nellie of Dallas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jill Cezanne Thomas
Jill Cezanne Thomas, 41, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. John Dillard, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thomas was born Aug. 2, 1957, in Dallas. She was a homemaker. She was involved with the Crockett Elementary School Parent Teacher Association, YMCA sports programs and soccer.
Survivors include a daughter, Bella of Wichita Falls; two sons, Duston and Trace, both of Wichita Falls; and a brother, Nick Fisher of Norman, Okla.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 this evening for visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Maria N. Garcia
Maria N. Garcia, 65, of Byers, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in a Wichita Falls nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Byers United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Christian officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Byers under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garcia was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Guanajuato, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a member of Byers United Methodist Church. She had lived in Byers for 34 years.
Survivors include her husband, Carlos of Byers; four sons, Carlos Jr. of Longview, Texas, Armando of Byers, Noe of Fort Worth, Texas, and Trini of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Maria Strickland of San Jose, Calif., and Rocieo Chacon of Dodge City, Kan.; three sisters, Josephine of Hearn, Texas, Claudia Tapia of Guanajuato and Juanita Chavez of Mexico; and nine grandchildren.
The family will be at 1600 Longview in Wichita Falls.

Betty E. Fisher
Betty Eileen Sprunger Fisher, 53, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Aug, 1, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Western Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Jordan, interim pastor, and the Rev. Jerry Hodges, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fisher was born March 16, 1945, in Southgate, Calif. She was a graduate of Grace Bible College in Omaha, Neb., and Southwestern Oklahoma State College in Weatherford, Okla. She worked as an elementary teacher following graduation and was the director of a daycare service in Wichita Falls. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 20 years. She was a member of Western Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; two sons, Bradley of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kevin of Olympia, Wash.; her parents, Lyman and Adeline Sprunger of Canton, Okla.; a brother, John Sprunger of Canton, Okla.; and three sisters, JoAnne Sinclair of Canton, Melody Plemmons of Sacramento, Calif., and Becky Whiting of Enid, Okla.

August Henry Schrick
FREDERICK, Okla. - August Henry Schrick, 96, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in his Frederick home.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Gish Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen's Catholic Church with the Rev. William Janocha, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Schrick was born Aug. 1, 1902, in Hennessey in what is now Oklahoma. He and Rena Viola Lynch were married May 11, 1925, in Hobart, Okla. She died Dec. 15, 1989. He moved to Tillman County, Okla., in 1917 and graduated from Frederick High School. He lived northeast of Frederick and was a farmer and rancher for many years. He was the president of the Farm Bureau for several terms. He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church.
Survivors include six sons, Paul of Weatherford, Texas, Kenneth Ray, Frank Dean and Edward Lee, all of Frederick, Terry Leon of Waco, Neb., and Michael Phillip of Oilton, Okla.; two daughters, Anna Mae Caron and Patricia Ann Boy, both of Fort Worth; three brothers, Fred of Oklahoma City, Emil of Lawton, Okla., and John M. of Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Lucy Delk of Rush Springs, Okla.; 45 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Lindsey
HENRIETTA, Texas - Hazel Lindsey, 94, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in a Wichita Falls nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Crestview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lindsey was born Feb. 8, 1904, in Montague County, Texas. She and Lam Lindsey were married in 1920 in Bowie, Texas. He died in December 1966. She had lived in Wichita Falls for the past 72 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Wilkins of Wichita Falls; and a granddaughter.

Robert Lane Fox
JACKSBORO, Texas - Robert Lane Fox, infant son of Jerry and Tammy Fox of Graham, Texas, died Sunday Aug. 2, 1998, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Spalding officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Robert Lane was born Aug. 1, 1998, in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Survivors include his parents; his grandparents, Robert and Eva Fox of Graham, and Truvette Frazier of Jacksboro; and his great-grandparents, Ava Rhoades and Short Frazer, both of Jacksboro.

Ryan Mark Davis
VERNON, Texas - Ryan Mark Davis, infant son of Michael and Melissa Davis of Vernon, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Eastview Cemetery with the Rev. Rusty Leavitt of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Colin of Vernon; his grandparents, Paul and Betty Ann Beauregard of Germany, Rodney and Annie Davis of Plano, Texas, Allen and Sharon Storek of Vernon, and Dennis and Belinda Wolsch of Vernon; his great-grandparents, Earl and Peggy Byars Jr., Margaret Wolsch and Burnett Halbrook, all of Vernon; and a great-great-grandmother, Roberta Skelton.

William Gentry Taylor
GRAHAM, Texas - William Gentry Taylor, 78, of Springtown, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in a Fort Worth care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Graham, Texas. He was a veteran of the Army and served in World War II. He returned to Graham in 1945 and worked in the gas refining industry for many years. In 1961, he went to work for Valero Energy Corporation in the gas refining and distribution systems and worked in several Texas cities during this time. Upon retiring in 1982, he moved to Breckenridge, Texas, and then to Graham. He moved to Springtown in 1993 to pursue an interest in ranching and cattle operations. He was a member of the Young County Masonic Lodge, Texas Cattlemen's Association and the First Christian Church in Breckenridge.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Claude Taylor or Springtown, and a granddaughter.

Robert M. Foley
Robert M. Foley, 77, of Wichita Falls died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Jeffress and Dr. Landrum Leavell officiating. Private graveside services will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mr. Foley was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Wichita Falls. He and Shirley J. Martin were married in 1949. He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and Hardin-Simmons University. He also attended Harvard Law School. During World War II, he served as a captain in the 1st Marine Division Amphibian Tractor Battalion. He bought Foley Sand and Gravel in 1951 from his father and organized F&F Materials in 1955. He was a lifetime member and former chairman of the deacons of the First Baptist Church, where he also taught a men's Sunday School class for 50 years. He served on the Board of Directors of Skyline Developers and the Salvation Army and on the Board of Development of Hardin-Simmons University.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Chuck L. of Wichita Falls, Mark of Mobile, Ala., and Peter of Waco, Texas; a daughter, Jean of Fort Worth; a brother, Ross of Wichita Falls; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Building Fund.

William 'Andy' Jackson
SAINT JO, Texas - William Andrew "Andy" Jackson, 90, of Dolores, Colo., died Friday, July 31, 1998, in a Cortez, Colo., nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas, with the Rev. C.E. Russell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Saint Jo.
Mr. Jackson was born July 22, 1908, in Montague County, Texas. He and Dorris fanning were married in 1932. As a young man, he worked in the gypsum mines in Oklahoma, and when the oil boom came to Texas, he followed the need for workers in the oil fields. He and his wife owned a grocery store and later lived on a farm near Dye Mound, Texas. During World War II, he moved to Pyote and helped build airplane hangars on the Air Force Base. He also operated a dairy farm and owned a service station and garage. Other businesses he owned and operated in Pyote included several restaurants, a tavern and dance hall, and an aluminum smeltering plant. In 1968, he moved to Dolores, Colo., where he worked in a sawmill, operated a restaurant and ran a video arcade.
Survivors include four daughters, Colleen Smith of Dolores, Paula Bradford of Kirtland, N.M., EuDell Votroubek of Cedar Springs, Iowa, and Joyce Givens of Lucien, Okla.; three sons, Jerry of Snyder, Texas, Arthur of Arlington, Kan., and Alton of Phoenix; a sister, Estalee Melton of Cedar Hill, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 8-9:30 Thursday morning for visitation.

Blaine Ivy Gunter
JACKSBORO, Texas - Blaine Ivy Gunter, 28, of Jacksboro died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church in Jacksboro with Rodney Mulvane and Dwayne Lamberson officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery in Jack County under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Gunter was born April 22, 1970, in Wichita Falls. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ben and Tommie Gunter of Jacksboro; his mother, Billye Apger of Tacoma, Wash.; a stepbrother, Jay Houston of Alvord, Texas; two brothers, Todd of Havlock, Texas, and Brandon of Newcastle, Texas; and two stepsisters, Elizabeth Johnson of Forestburg, Texas, and Cass Greaned of Decatur, Texas.

Mildred Henderson
VERNON, Texas - Mildred Florence Henderson, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, in a Vernon hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ with the Rev. Irl Holt officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henderson was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Crowell, Texas. She and William R. "Hank" Henderson were married March 10, 1946, in Vernon. She had lived in Vernon since 1946 and was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Suzanne McWhorter of Abilene, Texas, and June Wood of Vernon; two brothers, John Fish of Paducah, Texas, and Bill Fish of Crowell, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James D. 'Jim' Simpson
SNYDER, Texas - James D. "Jim" Simpson, 75, of Snyder died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in a Snyder hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Snyder with the Rev. Miller Robinson and Dr. Graig Curry officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Simpson was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Young County, Texas. He and Sue Stickland were married Nov. 29, 1990, in Las Vegas. He was a salesman for Hughes Tool Co. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree member of Masonic Lodge No. 706, and was also a member of the Shriners, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Fay Bell of Lubbock, Texas; four sisters, Betty Grubbs of Fort Belknap, Texas, Wanda Primerose and Carolyn Collins, both of Graham, Texas, and Glenda Wooldridge of Newcastle, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas; or to the Shriners Burn Center in Galveston, Texas.
