Maxine Folmar
VERNON, Texas -- Maxine Folmar, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998 in Denton, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Wilbarger Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Robert Prince of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Folmar was born Aug. 10, 1916 in Alexandria, La. She and O.C. "Buster" Folmar were married Dec. 5, 1938, in Sweetwater, Texas. He died Feb. 11, 1993. She was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Coleman's Shoes. She came to Vernon in 1948 from Eastland, Texas, and moved to Denton in 1997. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vernon.
Survivors include a son, Max, of Denton.
Visitation will be Saturday at the Funeral home 12 to 1 p.m.

Victor Leon Cook
Victor Leon Cook, 63, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, at his Wichita Falls residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Crestview Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. John Barton officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Mr. Cook was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Sherman, Texas. He and Patricia Estes were married April 13, 1957, in Wichita Falls. He was business manager for the Plumber/Pipefitters Union No. 389 for a number of years and was superintendent of Airco Mechanical. He was past president of P and SF Credit Union. He served in the Army and moved from McKinney, Texas, to Wichita Falls in 1949.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cindi Bradford of Henrietta, Texas, and Kelly Godwin and Dina Stagg, both of Wichita Falls; his mother, Mildred Cook of Wichita Falls; a sister, Carol Fulgham of Wataga, Texas; two brothers, James Cook and Billy Cook, both of Wichita Falls; and five grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls 76310.

Maxine Lucille Williams
ELECTRA - Maxine Lucille Williams, 87, formerly of Snyder, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, in Clinton, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the New Electra Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Medley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Electra, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born April 15, 1911, in Electra. She and Fred Williams were married Nov. 12, 1932, in Henrietta, Texas. He died Dec. 26, 1994. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Electra.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Marie Jarrell, of Electra.

Lucille Bynum Zangara
Lucille Bynum Zangara, 64, of Humble, Texas, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, in Houston.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. George of Fort Worth, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mrs. Zangara was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Haskell County, Texas. She was a bookkeeper of Health Care.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of Humble, Texas; two daughters, Rhonda Doyal of Centerville, Iowa, and N. Kay Schumacker of Las Cruces, N.M.; five sons, Richard L. Bynum of Humble, Texas, Kenneth B., and Danny S. both of Roswell, N.M., Kevin A. of Taos, N.M., and James R. of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Clayton D. Taylor of Victoria, Texas, and Weldon B. Taylor of Silsbee, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.

Ruby Ann Middlebrook
PAINT CREEK, Texas - Ruby Ann Middlebrook, 90, of Paint Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in a Stamford Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church In Paint Creek with pastors John Mark Trice and Alfred Altum, officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Millddlebrook was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Paint Creek. She and Garland Velton were married Dec. 23, 1923, in Paint Creek. He died March 19, 1971. She was a homemaker and had been a lifetime member of the Paint Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dale of Paint Creek, and Billy of Haskell; a brother, R.V. Earles of Paint Creek; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Phyliss Ann Johnston
Phyliss Ann West Johnston, 60, of Yukon, Okla., died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, in Oklahoma.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston was born Nov. 28, 1937, in Wink, Texas. Her husband, Allen K. Johnston, died Oct. 9, 1993. She was a registered nurse, and was director of nurses at Clinics of North Texas in Wichita Falls. She was a member of the American Heart Association, Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas, Shannon Alumini, Wink High School Alumini, Red River Renegades, Auxiliary FOE #3580 and of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Sandeen of Savannah, Ga., and Karen Bubb of Yukon, Okla.; a son, Darrel Johnston of Hermiston, Ore.; a brother, Richard R. West of Wichita Falls; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1708 Dayton, Wichita Falls, 76302; Wesley United Methodist Church, 1526 Weeks, Wichita Falls, 76302; or Scholarship for Phyllis Johnston RN Scholarship Fund, Clinics of North Texas.

Turner Floyd Shaver
SEYMOUR, Texas - Turner Floyd Shaver, 79, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in his residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Shock, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Funeral Home.
Mr. Shaver was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Seymour. He and Robbie Cornelius were married Aug. 23, 1940, in Altus, Okla. She died April 28, 1998. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Shaver Motors, and Shaver Paint and Body, as well as the La Siesta Motel, Roddy's Cafe' and the Seymour Laundry. He was a longtime resident of Seymour. He retired in 1982 and continued to do upholstery work until moving to Wichita Falls in 1994. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and had served on the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Floyd of Wichita Falls; a brother, A.D. Shaver of Littlefield, Texas; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
The family will be at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. today for visitation.

Aorby W. Willeford
BURKBURNETT - Aorby W. Willeford, 88, of Burkburnett died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park with the Rev. Danny P. Willeford of San Antonio officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
Mr. Willeford was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Sulpur Springs, Texas. He and Dessie Churchman were married Sept. 15, 1932, in Walters, Okla. He retired from Wills Oil Co. in 1974 and had lived in Burkburnett since 1950. He had lived in the area since 1929.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Peggy Davidson of Fort Worth and Shirley Goff of Haltom City, Texas; a brother, Edward H. Willeford of Henrietta, Texas; two sisters, Loil Harris of Hurst, Texas, and Genese Lansford of Willis, Texas; a grandson, two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Josephine Elmore Cagle
CHILDRESS, Texas - Josephine Elmore Cagle, 84, of Plainview, Texas, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in Plainview.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Robertson, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Childress, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cagle was born March 21, 1914, in Northfield, Texas. She lived in Childress until 1955, when she moved to Tulia, Texas. She lived in Tulia until 1990, when she moved to Plainview. She and Hollis Cagle were married April 1928 in Childress. He died in May 1977. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Tulia and the Eastern Star of Tulia. She was a homemaker and had worked as a caregiver to the elderly.
Survivors include two sons, Bill and Jay, both of Plainview; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Tim H. Sorge
TEMPLE, Okla. - Timothy Henry Sorge, 88, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in a Temple nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Temple with the Rev. Benny Gresham officiating. Burial will be in Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.
Mr. Sorge was born Oct. 5, 1909, south of Temple. He grew up south of Temple and was a lifetime resident of the Temple area. He and Evelyn Womack were married Feb. 14, 1935, in Walters, Okla. She died Nov. 27, 1992. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of First Baptist Church of Temple.
Survivors include a son, Karl of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Joretta Landreth of Norman, Okla.; a brother, William of Seattle; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Carrie Opal Merritt
McKINNEY, Texas - Carrie Opal Merritt, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in a McKinney nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Burns Cemetery in Trenton, Texas.
Mrs. Merritt was born Oct. 1, 1904, in Blooming Grove, Texas. She and George Lee Merritt were married Jan. 27, 1924, in Brownfield, Texas. He died June 21, 1986. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd R. of Frisco, Texas, and M. Doyle of Desert, Texas; a sister, Marie Pounds of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. today.

Marcia Ann Liberman Bloom
Marcia Ann Liberman Bloom, 63, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Downtown Chapel with the Rabbi Howard Schwartz officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Bloom was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Detroit, Mich. She and Edwin Bloom were married Jan. 19, 1956 in Detroit, Mich. She was the owner of the Glassworks and was a student for 2 1/2 years at Michigan State University. She was a member of the House of Jacob and had lived in Wichita Falls for 13 years.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beth Bloom of Rochester, N.Y., Brenda Bloom of Cincinnati, Ohio.; a son, Brian Bloom of Woodstock, Ga.; two sisters, Suzanne Joy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Judith Kipnis of Highland Park, Ill; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls and the American Cancer Society.

Harold Oliver Miller
Harold Oliver Miller, 57, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Norm Albertson officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Mr. Miller was born June 24, 1941, in LaValle, Wis. He and Clara Rosenow were married July 23, 1961, in Reedsbury, Wis. He was an Air Conditioner Technician was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wis. The couple moved to Wichita Falls in 1981.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Miller of Wichita Falls; a son, Harold Miller of Wichita Falls; four sisters, Ann Olson, Shirley, Waverly Owen and Anola Rosenow, all from Wis.; five brothers, Jim of Maine; Darrel, Marvin, and Ted, all of Wis.; Lorene Miller of Nevada; and two grandchildren.

Minnie M. Phelps
WAURIKA, Okla. - Minnie M. Phelps, 91, of Waurika died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in a Lawton, Okla. hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with the Revs. Tim Bowen and Tommy Billings officiating. Burial will be in Waurika Perpetual Care Cemetery under the direction of Willis C. Worley and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Phelps was born Feb. 26, 1907 in Waurika, Okla. She and Joseph Eugene Phelps were married Dec. 24, 1926 in Waurika. He died Oct. 28, 1979. She was raised on the family farm and attended Bethel country school. She and her husband lived on the family farm until 1957 when they moved into Waurika. She was a homemaker, a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, the Esther Sunday School Class, and the Waurika Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Donald of Waurika, and Alton of Duncan, Okla.; a daughter, Evelyn Knecht of Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Toni Kinnett Rangel
Toni Kinnett Rangel, 50, of Burkburnett died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Central Baptist Church of Burkburnett with the Revs. Lamoin Champ of Nocona and Duane Perkinson, Pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
Mrs. Rangel was born Aug. 2, 1948, in Wichita Falls. She and Freddy Rangel Sr. were married Sept. 27, 1980. She was a lifetime resident of Burkburnett, attended all Burkburnett schools, was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burkburnett.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Darla Vieth of Burkburnett; two step-daughters, Yvonne Kinnett and Nita Rangel, both of Wichita Falls; four step-sons: Julian, Shannon, and Freddy Jr., all of Wichita Falls, and Joey Sanchez of Sikeston, Mo.; two sons, Ronnie Ebner of Holliday and Michael Ebner of Burkburnett; three brothers: Darrell, Dewayne and Davey, all of Wichita Falls; and 15 grandchildren.

Barnard 'Kelly' Payne Jr.
JACKSBORO, Texas - Barnard 'Kelly' Payne Jr., 69, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in a Jacksboro hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Grace Baptist Church in Jacksboro with the Rev. Duane Lamberson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Payne was born May 8, 1929, in Stillwater, Okla. He and Fredda Whitsitt were married Sept. 20, 1996, in Jacksboro. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Marlow, Okla., Masonic Lodge. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Vicki Webb of Justin, Texas, Paula Armijo of Longmont, Colo., and Ronda Lewis of Jacksboro; two sons, Gary Payne of Euless, Texas, and Tony Sims of Jacksboro; and six grandchildren.

Billye Joe Mason
Billye Joe Mason of Wichita Falls died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. White, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home.
Mr. Mason was born in Bonham, Texas. He was a clerk and had lived in Wichita Falls for 28 years. He was a deacon, a bible teacher, usher and prayer leader.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mason; a son, Billy Joe Jr. of Fort Worth; three daughters, Lesley and Angela Woodard, both of Houston and LaNell Woodard of Austin; five brothers, Daniel Mason of Chicago, Bobby Joe Mason of Sherman, Texas, Earl Mason Jr. of Dallas, and Dwight C. Mason and Charles Earl Mason, both of Bonham.

Betty Reeves Meinzer
KNOX CITY, Texas - Betty Reeves Meinzer, 71, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in a St. Louis hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Johnson and the Rev. Leon Ward officiating. Burial will be in Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meinzer was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Knox County. She and Walter Buck Meinzer were married Sept. 14, 1957. He died Jan. 11, 1987. She was a 1945 graduate of Knox City High School. She was a bookkeeper for many years in Hale Center for the grain elevator and moved to St. Louis in 1996.
Survivors include three daughters, Carra Celeste Rooney of High Ridge, Mo., Pamela Lee Gladson of Arlington, Texas, and Rhonda Jo Ripka of Abilene, Texas; three sons, Joe David Meinzer of Idalou, Texas, Walter Buck Meinzer II of Arkansas and Walter Gregory Meinzer of Nauvo, Calif.; three sisters, Ruthie Routon of Farwell, Texas, Birdie Helton of Knox City and Faye Corley of Mineola, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Weldon Swain Walker
NOCONA, Texas - Weldon Swain Walker, 87, of Montague, Texas died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in a Bowie, Texas hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Montague Cemetery with Melvin Fenoglio officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Walker was born Oct. 17, 1910, in Montague. He repaired shoes in Brownwood, Texas, during World War II and later worked in the repair department for Nocona Boot Company for four years. He worked in the mitt lacing department for Nocona Athletic Goods for 35 years.
Survivors include his sister, Eva Giles of Bowie; and two brothers, Horace of Montague and Raymond of Nocona.

Bertha E. Garrett
OLNEY, Texas - Bertha E. Garrett, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in an Olney nursing home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett was born Oct. 23, 1909, in Parker County, Texas. she and Ben Garrett were married Jan. 23, 1925, in Seymour, Texas. He died Feb. 3, 1987. She moved from Goree, Texas, to Olney in 1932. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Benny of Jacksboro, Texas, and Henry of Lefors, Texas; a daughter, Marzell Hall of Olney; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
