Summerell, Allen B. age 79 died Fri. Jan. 14, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock. Born in Euclid, Ohio, he lived in Irvington, NJ before moving to POMPTON LAKES 53 years ago. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He was the Shipping and Receiving Manager for Bradlees Dept. store, Wayne before retiring. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors (Navy Veterans); Member and Past President of the Pompton Lakes Golden Age Club, and a charter member of the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad. He is survived by his wife Mildred (Cort), a son Grieg Summerell of Dingmans Ferry, PA. 2 grandchildren Laurie O’Connell and Christopher Summerell both of Dingmans Ferrry, PA; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services Monday January 17, 2005 at 8:30 P.M. at Richards Funeral Home 4 Newark-Pompton Tpke; Riverdale. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 and 7-8:30 P.M. Private cremation. Claire E. Scott (Spreen) age 77, a homemaker, died Friday, January 21, 2005 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, New Jersey. Mrs. Scott lived in Riverdale for 2 Years and was previously from Ringwood. She was born February 14, 1927 in New York City the daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Donohue) Spreen. Helen T. Seeley, (Sinclair), 79, a retired legal secretary for Podesta Myers & Crammond, Bloomingdale died Wednesday, February 02, 2005 at St. Clares Hospital- Denville. Mrs Seeley was a Past President of the Riverdale Seniors, a member of Lake Hiawatha Seniors and the Parsippany Elks Ladies Aux. Mrs. Seeley lived in Lake Hiawatha for 8 years and was previously from Riverdale. She is survived by her husband Donald, a daughter Karan Seeley of Lake Hiawatha, and a nephew, Daniel Sinclair. She was born April 09, 1925 in Haledon, the daughter of Thomas and Anne (Millett) Sinclair. Agnes Sillsbury, 90, died Friday, February 11, 2005 in Great Meadows, NJ. Mrs. Sillsbury was a member of the West Milford Golden Agers. Santimauro, Frank X., 79, a retired police detective for N.Y.P.D. and also retired from the NY State Commission of Investigation, died Sunday, February 13, 2005 at Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne, NJ. Mr. Santimauro has lived in West Milford, NJ since 1972 and was previously from Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife Rose of Hewitt, Maria Algozzini (Daughter) of Hewitt, NJ, John Santimauro (Brother) of Matawan, NJ, Madelyn Pascocello (Sister) of Marlton, NJ, Marsi Algozzini (Granddaughter), Chrisi Algozzini (Granddaughter), Many nieces & nephews, Many Great nieces & nephews. He was born February 14, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Michael and Mabel (Kelly) Santimauro. He served in the Air Force during World War II having attained the rank of PVT. enlisted on July 14, 1943 discharged on May 13, 1947. George E. Strother Jr. of Pompton Lakes died February 19, 2005 at the Dwelling Place at St. Clare’s Hospital/Dover. He was 89. Born on February 27, 1915 in Toledo, OH, he was the youngest of four children. When he was six moths old, his family moved to Vineland, NJ where he lived for 40 years prior to moving to Pompton Lakes, NJ. A graduate of Vineland High School in 1934, he began his career with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1940 as an agent. In 1955, he was promoted to District Manager moving to Pompton Lakes where he has resided for the past 50 years. At age 54, he graduated from the American College with a Charter Life Underwriter Degree. After 32 years with MetLife, he retired in 1972. Following his retirement, he pursued his second career with the First National Bank of Passaic County (now Wachovia Bank) in Wayne, NJ. He retired from the West Milford branch as a loan officer after six years. He is a member of the MetLife Veterans Association/Field; Vineland Masonic Lodge # 69; served as a Vineland Volunteer Fireman in Pioneer Company; and was a member of the Vineland Historical Society. An avid fisherman, gardener, cherry picker, pie maker, baseball and softball fan, his greatest pleasures were in watching and participating in the many of activities of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Laura (Lawrence) Strother; two sons, George III and his wife Patricia of Denville, Larry and his wife, Joan of Newfoundland, one daughter, Diane Rowen and her husband, George of Oakridge; 12 grandchildren, George Strother IV of Denville, Wendy Perrault of Rockaway, Amy Gray of Old Bridge, Philip Strother of Center Sandwich, NH, Jeff Rowen of Glenwood, Jennifer Hark of Augusta, George Rowen Jr. of Franklin, Christopher Rowen of Oakridge, Lindsay, Brandon, Brett and Chad Strother of Newfoundland, and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation and service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ, on Tuesday, February 22 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Patricia C. Setterfield, 45, a Self employed Pet Groomer, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Ms. Setterfield lived in Plymouth, Massachusetts for 13 years and was previously from Wayne. She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle and Christina Auger, her parents, Lawrence and Claire Setterfield, Jr of Wayne, and a brother, Lawrence Setterfield III of Marlton. Isabel Struble, 97, a homemaker , died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at St. Josephs Wayne Hospital. Mrs. Struble was a member of the Pompton Lakes Goldenagers. Mrs. Struble was born in Butler and has lived in Pompton Lakes since 1940. She is survived by her son Walter J. Struble of Pompton Lakes, and a daughter, Jeanette Loughery of Sussex. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, (1990). She was born March 07, 1908 in Butler, the daughter of David and Frances (Howard) Shepard. Sisco, Doris L. (Seleski) age 82 died on Monday, March 28, 2005 at Wanaque Care Center, Wanaque, NJ. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa on 11/17/1922, lived in Pine Island, NY before moving to West Milford, NJ 50 years ago. Mrs. Sisco had been a waitress at Oakland Diner in Warwick, NY. She is survived by 3 sons: David A, Daniel R and Matthew L. Sisco all of Hewitt. 2 Daughters: Donna C VanDunk of Hewitt and Shirley E. Steinman of Venice, CA. 2 sisters: Dolores Lyons of Philadelphia, PA and Pattsy McLean of Camden, NJ, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Tibbals, Cyrus F. III, age 88, of West Milford died on Saturday, September 17, 2004 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock, NJ. He was a self-employed/owner of Oil Filter Specialty of Mahwah, NJ for 30 years as a supplier/distributor of truck engine parts. Mr. Tabbals was a member and former President of the Monroe Golf Club of Monroe, NY and former member and President of the Mahwah, NJ School Board and was instrumental in the renovations of schools and the building of the high school. He was also a veteran serving in the US Army. Mr. Tibbals is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Feakes, a son, Cyrus "Rus" IV of Sandston, VA, one daughter, Virginia Monteforde of Westbury, NY, a stepson, Peter Bremy of West Milford, one sister, Cara Woolley of Whiting, NJ and 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Theodore and a sister, Elizabeth Smallman. William H. Tempelmann, 74, a turbine mechanic for General Electric, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, New Jersey. Mr. Tempelmann lived in Pompton Lakes, for 4 years and was previously from Bergenfield. Standish, Sr. (Step-Father) of Port Charlotte, FL. He was born July 11, 1947 in Paterson, NJ. He served in the Army during Vietnam War having attained the rank of SP 4 and discharged on July 1, 1973. Thunell, John J. Jr., 61, a self-employed plumber, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Township, NJ. He was a member of The West Milford American Legion. Mr. Thunell, Jr. lived in West Milford, NJ most of his life. He is survived by his wife Anna (Behrens), Lisa Thunell (Daughter) of Butler, NJ, Deborah Kennedy (Daughter) of Butler, NJ, Robert Thunell (Brother) of Smithville, NJ, Carl Thunell (Brother) of IL, Rodger Thunell (Brother) of Bloomingdale, NJ. He was born September 12, 1943 in Newark, NJ the son of John and Margaret (Nilan) Thunell. He served in the Air Force enlisted on February 21, 1964 at Newark, NJ discharged on May 13, 1964. Visser, William T. Sr., age 83, died on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ. Born in Riverdale, he previously lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Boonton 3 years ago. His was employed as a foreman for E. I. Dupont in Pompton Lakes for many years and was a Army veteran. Mr. Visser was a 25 year veteran of the Pompton Lakes Fire Dept. Mr. Visser is survived by eight sons, William T. Jr. of West Milford, Darrin L., of Pompton Lakes, Greg of Lincoln Park, Chris of Haledon, Kurt of Lexington, SC, Neil of Pompton Lakes, John D. of Newton, Charlie of NY and two daughters, Lorraine Harriet and Bonnie Visser both of Pompton Lakes, three sisters, Alida Brockland of FL, Josephine Cooper of TN, and Alta Rodgers of Bloomingdale, NJ. He was pre-deceased by his wife the former Mary Redner, and a brother Michael James Visser.

Van Riper, John "Jack" R., 61, a plumber for Plumber's Local 14, Lodi, NJ, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Township, NJ. He was a member of Marine Corps League and Audibon Society. Mr. Van Riper lived in Hewitt, NJ for 25 yrs. and was previously from Paterson. He is survived by his wife Yolanda, Abel Van Riper (Son) of Hewitt, NJ, Charles Sifontes (Son) of Orlando, FL, Rosemary Heller (Sister) of Monroe, NY, Marilyn Watt (Sister) of Oakland, NJ, Carol Lembo (Sister) of Pompton Lakes, NJ, Margaret Grofsik (Sister) of West Milford, NJ, 3 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Van Riper, Sr, and his mother, Mary Mc Tighe. He was born January 26, 1943 in Paterson, NJ the son of John and Mary (Mc Tighe) Van Riper, Sr. He served in the Marines during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of Cpl. enlisted on January 30, 1960 discharged on January 29, 1966. Katherine A. Van Ness, (Rhinesmith) 88, a retired owner & operator for Van Ness Farms, Wanaque, died Monday, March 21, 2005 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Haskell. She was a member of the Midvale Methodist Church. Mrs. Van Ness was a lifelong resident of Wanaque. She is survived by her brother Alfred Rhinesmith of Nebraska, her son-in-law Douglas and Carla Groendyke of Bloomingdale. Three grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, (1998) and a daughter Cathy Groendyke. She was born April 24, 1916 in Wanaque, New Jersey the daughter of Chester and Bessie (Williams) Rhinesmith. Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Deborah L. Van Dunk (De Groat) age 56 died Thursday March 24, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains. Born in Ringwood, she resided in West Milford most of her life. She was an electronics technician for Empire Electronics in Paterson before retiring. She is survived by her husband Raymond of West Milford, two children Roxanne Van Dunk of West Milford and Christopher Van Dunk of New York City, her mother Josephine De Groat of West Milford, three brothers Michael Boddy, William Jose De Groat and Eric De Groat all of West Milford, six sisters Lynette De Lazier of North Carolina, Joanne Schaefer of Warwick, NY; Barbara Van Dunk of Bloomingburg, NY; Robin De Groat of Middletown, N.Y; Erica De Groat of Paterson, and Stacey De Groat of West Milford. Funeral services will be held Monday March 28, 2005 at 12 Noon at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Rd. West Milford. Interment will follow at Mt. Holiness Cemetery, Butler. Survived by her husband Kenneth; 2 sons, Kenneth J. and Andrew Van Dunk both of Ringwood; her daughter Diedre Van Dunk of Ringwood; 2 brothers, Robert Van Dunk of Hillburn, NY and Aaron Milligan of Ringwood; 2 sisters, Sandra Van Dunk of Ringwood and Marie Van Dunk of Ellenville, NY; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visiting hours on Tuesday, April 5th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 8:30 PM. Funeral service on Tuesday, April 5th at 8:30 PM from the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Mary Van Allen (Westphal), 86, a retired switchboard operator for Bell Atlantic, Paterson died Monday, May 16, 2005 in Tuscon, Arizona. Ms. Van Allen lived in Tuscon, Arizona for 2 years and was previously from Hamburg, NJ. She is survived by her son , Ronald Van Allen, Sr. and his wife, Sue, of Tuscon, Grandchildren, Ronald Van Allen, Jr., his wife, Dianna, Todd Van Allen and a Great-granddaughter Tara Marie Van Allen. She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Westphal, (1989). She was born June 11, 1918 in Paterson, NJ the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Johnson) Westphal. Francis J. Van Allen, 73, a retired mechanic for Owens Illinois, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at his home in Liberty Township, Ohio. Mr. Van Allen lived in Liberty Township, Ohio for 8 years and was previously from Wayne. He is survived by Douglas VanAllen (Son) of Franklin, NJ, Sandra Roche (Daughter) OH, Karen Van Allen (Daughter) of Riverdale, NJ, Donald Van Allen (Brother), PA, Eleanor Peterson (Sister) of Wayne, NJ. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean (Cahill,1988). He was born September 12, 1931 in Paterson, New Jersey the son of Francis and Eleanor (Van Lavender) Van Allen. He served in the United States Marines Corps during Peace time. Friends may call at Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Josephine M. Van Der Bogart (Russo), age 73, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains. Born in Passaic, she lived in Westwood before moving to West Milford 42 years ago. She was a school bus driver for the West Milford school system for 25 years prior to retiring. She was a member of the West Milford Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter Jane Van Der Bogart of West Milford, four sons Craig of Texas, David of Boonton Township, Richard of Florida, and Stephen of California. One brother, Morris Russo of Clifton and eight grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Glen in 1992. Funeral service Thursday, July 21 at 10 A.M. at the West Milford Presbyterian Church. Survived by one son, Peter Jr . of Hewitt, five daughters, Lucille Mann of Hewitt, Marie Schimanski of Bloomingdale, Penny Swerd of SC, Patricia Milligan of Hewitt and MaryAnn Van Dunk of Hewitt, two sisters, Marie Mann of West Milford, Joan Mann of Hewitt, one step-son, Patrick Michael Milligan of West Milford, two step-daughters, Heather and April Van Dunk of Hewitt, Twenty two grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Theodore A. Wolf Jr. age 47, died on Saturday September 4, 2004 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown after a long illness. Born in Newton, he was a resident of West Milford for 37 years moving here from Woodridge, NJ. Mr. Wolf was a self employed computer consultant working in computer security for many years. He attended County College of Morris where he attained an Associates Degree. Mr. Wolf was a member of New Jersey Search & Rescue, National Association of Search & Rescue, National Association of EMT’s, Vice President - 17th District – New Jersey State First Aid Council, chief instructor for the West Milford Twp. First Aid Squad, Coordinator for Skywarn NWS Skywarn for Passaic, NJ, life member of the American Radio Relay League (A.R.R.L.), Director Radio Amateur Telecommunications Society (R.A.T.S.), member of the Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), active participant in Internet Societal Task Force Privacy WG, active participant in The Internet Engineering Task Force, and a member of the International Computer Security Association. Mr. Wolf is survived by his wife, the former Sandra L. (nee Benjamin) Wolf Jr., two sons, Theodore A. III and Sean Michael, his parents, Theodore A. and Nancy A (Rutan) Wolf Sr. of Florida, one brother, William T. Wolf of Dingman, PA, one sister, Nancy J. Moore of Palm Bay, FL. He was a member of the Mt. View Masonic Lodge. Mr. Woodward lived in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey for 2 years and was previously from Totowa. He is survived by Lois Mayer (Daughter) of Vernon, NJ, Viola Rogers (Step Daughter) of Fulton, NY, Joan Adams (Step Daughter) of Yorktown Heights, NY. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel, (1968), his 2nd wife, Viola (2002). He was born September 07, 1908 in Paterson, New Jersey the son of Charles and Lena (Wurtz) Woodward.
