Robert Adams
DELTONA - Robert Adams, 76, of Blackstone Avenue, died June 5, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mr. Adams retired as a truck driver for L.D. Plante in Oviedo after 25 years. Born in Opp, Ala., he was a longtime resident of the area. He moved back to Opp for a time and moved back to West Volusia in 1999.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Adams is survived by two daughters, Robin Dowling of Deltona and Melinda Munoz of Orlando; a brother, Jesse of Arlington, Mass.; three sisters, Herley Mae Moon of Oviedo, and Dorothy Whigham and Alice Oakley, both of Opp; and eight grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Andy Anderson
LAKELAND - Andy Anderson, 60, a former resident of River Ridge Road in DeLand, died June 7, 2000, at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga.
Mr. Anderson was a truck driver. Born in Reading, Ohio, he moved from Lakeland to DeLand in 1983 and from DeLand to Lakeland two months ago.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved to cook.
Mr. Anderson was a fireman in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara J.; two sons, Vince of Lakeland and Jeff of Deltona; four daughters, Mindi Anderson of Orlando, Janie Kaye Anderson of Lakeland, Carla Preston of Paisley and Casondra Anderson of Deltona; five brothers, Jim and Pat, both of Crossville, Tenn., Mike and Tim, both of Sharonville, Ohio, and Butch of Orlando; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Allen-Summerhill was in charge.

Dorothy Elizabeth 'Betty' Bratt
DELAND - Dorothy Elizabeth "Betty" Bratt, 82, of Chipola Avenue, died June 12, 2000, in a local hospital.
Born in Hackensack, N.J., Mrs. Bratt graduated from Hasbrouck Heights (N.J.) High School and Pratt Institute's School of Art. After graduation, she worked as a commercial artist, and, during World War II, she was a draftsperson for Bendix Corp. and for Union Carbide's uranium-separation plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
She was an active member of the Garden Club of DeLand and had served on the board of Friends of the DeLand Area Library. She also produced posters for Theater Center, and maintained its scrapbook.
Mrs. Bratt is survived by her husband of 59 years, John; two sons, John Newell and Robert Edward; two grandsons, Darren and Todd Bratt; four nieces, Janet Madsen, Doris Colonna, Elinor Moore and Linda Berger; and three nephews, Gerard Baker, Laurence Martin and Roger Comes.
Lankford was in charge.

Maxine Marie Bristol
NEW SMYRNA BEACH - Maxine Marie Bristol, 42, a former resident of DeLand, died June 4, 2000, at her home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Bristol was born in Columbus, Neb., and moved to New Smyrna Beach from DeLand in 1990.
She loved all animals and was especially fond of her dogs, horses and cows. She enjoyed going to flea markets, was a country-music fan and loved to listen to Garth Brooks.
Mrs. Bristol is survived by her husband, Pat; a brother, Bob Kush of Cocoa; a sister, Sue Kush of Cocoa; her mother, Marilyn Osborne of Mead, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved Rottweiler, Tyson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Settle-Wilder Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach was in charge.

Nona Cohen Cetoute
DELAND - Word has been received of the death of Nona Cohen Cetoute, 44, of South Woodland Boulevard. She was found dead June 5, 1999, in DeLand.
Mrs. Cetoute was a former nursing assistant. She was a lifetime resident of her hometown of DeLand.
She is survived by her father, Marshall White Sr. of DeLand; three daughters, Gwendolyn Cohen of Bunnell, Tanecka Jones of Daytona Beach and Carrie Lee Cohen of DeLand; a son, Kevin Brown of Daytona Beach; a sister, Ida Mae Small of Bunnell; three brothers, Marshall White Jr. and Donnie Robert Morris, both of DeLand and George Henry Link of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren.
Arthur Mack was in charge.

Laura Dyson Erickson
DELAND - Laura Dyson Erickson, 90, of Lake Ruby Road, died June 6, 2000, at Memorial Hospital-West Volusia.
Mrs. Erickson was a leather buyer in retail sales. Born in Waycross, Ga., she moved to this area in 1965 from Nashville, Tenn.
She attended Vashti College in Valdosta, Ga., and nursing school in Nashville. She was United Methodist.
Mrs. Erickson is survived by a daughter, Jean Hewitt of St. Augustine, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Affordable Alternatives, Newlife Funeral Chapel, in Ormond Beach was in charge.

Byron A. Fairbanks
DELAND - Byron A. Fairbanks, 92, of Tree Frog Lane, died June 2, 2000, at Mariner Health of DeLand.
Mr. Fairbanks retired as a truck driver for an oil company. Born in Woodstock, Vt., he moved to this area in 1982 from Portland, Maine.
He was Episcopal.
Mr. Fairbanks is survived by a son, Byron Patrick of Yarmouth, Maine, a brother, Benson of Scituate, Mass., one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Allen-Summerhill was in charge.

Tammy Lee Gregory
DELTONA - Tammy Lee Gregory, 31, of Gainesville Drive, died June 11, 2000, at Florida Hospital Waterman in Eustis.
Mrs. Gregory was currently a school-bus driver in Deltona for Volusia County Schools. Born in Baltimore, she moved to this area in 1981 from Glen Burnie, Md.
She was Catholic and enjoyed the beach, flea markets, crafts and child care.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by a son, Christian H. Kiefer of Deltona; a daughter, Kimberly J. Gregory of Deltona; her parents, Gordon F. and Donna Wagner of Deltona; her paternal grandmother, Betty Wagner of Deltona; her maternal grandmother, Lillian W. Lowe of Deltona; and a brother, Robert G. Wagner of Deltona.
Baldauff was in charge.

Shelby C. Higginbotham
DELAND - Shelby C. Higginbotham, 79, of East Hillside Drive, died June 1, 2000, in Orange City.
Mr. Higginbotham was a sanitation-truck driver. Born in Hadley, Ky., he moved to Central Florida in 1981 from Califon, N.J.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Orange City and was a captain in Crime Watch of Lake County.
Mr. Higginbotham served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dottie. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Lake Mac; a daughter, Mary Rude of Paisley; two brothers, Marshall of Lake Catherine and Donald of Hadley; four grandchildren, Wanda Andro, Stacey Varnhart, Becki Hickman and John Arzberger; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Baldwin-Fairchild-Oaklawn Park Cemetery and Funeral Home in Lake Mary was in charge.

Joyce H. Stevenson Kowalski
ENTERPRISE - Joyce H. Stevenson Kowalski, 55, of Turtle Hill Road, died June 3, 2000, at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.
A homemaker, Mrs. Kowalski was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and lived in Ellington, Conn., Tolland, Conn., and Vernon, Conn., most of her life. She moved to Florida seven years ago.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel C. Stevenson. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her mother, Ruth Heffernan Stevenson Hiller of Vernon; her stepfather, Russell Hiller of Vernon; four sons, Edward (and his wife, Angela) of Willington, Conn., Michael (and his wife, Lynn) of DeBary, and Chris and Shaun, both of Deltona; two daughters, Michelle Hansen of Deltona and Suzette Sault of Enterprise; a brother, James (and his wife, Bonnie) Stevenson of Tolland; two sisters, Janice (and her husband, David) Hany of Tolland, and her twin sister, Judith (and her husband, Raymond) Godek of Ellington; five grandchildren and numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492-7522. White-Gibson-Small Funeral Service Inc. in Rockville, Conn., was in charge.

Dorothy Walker Leary
OLD GREENWICH, Conn. - Dorothy Walker Leary, 83, a former resident of Deltona, died May 24, 2000, at the Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital.
Mrs. Leary retired as a bank teller. She was born in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Leary, and by a son, Mark J. Walker. She is survived by a daughter, Charlene Ginste of Old Greenwich, a son, Kenneth Walker of Ellijay, Ga., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Stamford, Conn., was in charge.

Louis A. Mandese
DELAND - Louis A. Mandese, 78, of Kendra Avenue, died June 11, 2000, at Oakwood Garden of DeLand.
Mr. Mandese retired as the owner and operator of Lou's Phillips 66 Service Station in DeLand. Born in Tampa, he moved to this area in 1956 from New York.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in DeLand.
Mr. Mandese served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Angelo and Tony, both of DeLand, and Louis A. Jr. of Tallahassee; three brothers, Tony of Long Island, N.Y., Joe of New Jersey and Angelo of Miami; a sister, Connie Parlapiano of DeLand; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oakwood Garden Activity Department, 451 S. Amelia Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Lankford was in charge.

Geraldine Minicucci
DELAND - Geraldine Minicucci, 81, of Oleander Road, died June 8, 2000, at her home.
Miss Minicucci retired as a bookkeeper for a laundry and dry-cleaning business in White Plains, N.Y. Born in Cheshire, Conn., she moved to this area from White Plains in 1970.
She is survived by a brother, Fulvilo Minicucci of DeLand, and a sister, Cornelia Minicucci, of DeLand.
Deltona Memorial was in charge.

Lorenza Montgomery
DELAND - Lorenza Montgomery, 43, of South Amelia Avenue, died June 9, 2000, at Oakwood Garden of DeLand.
Mr. Montgomery was a laborer. He was a lifelong resident of his hometown of DeLand.
He is survived by two brothers, Bobby of Monticello and Alonza of Orlando.
Arthur Mack was in charge.

Virginia Louise Penick
DELTONA - Virginia Louise Penick, 80, of Swallow Street, died June 12, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mrs. Penick was secretary to a purchasing agent at the fabrication plant of Fisher Body, a division of General Motors Corp., for 17 years. Born in Kingman, Ind., she moved to this area in 1978 from Marion, Ind.
She was a member of the Deltona Civic Association, Home Extension of Volusia County, and Delta Theta Tau sorority Hountain Chapter 204 in Indiana. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge, crafts, church bazaars, cooking, and making homemade noodles and pie crust, and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
Mrs. Penick is survived by a son, Dennis K. of Shannon, Ill., a daughter, Monica M. DePoy of Deltona, and two grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.
